“I ordered the Halibut that was featured. I'm not sure why because I'm not a big fan of fish. It was DELICIOUS! It had some sort of bread crumb mix with roasted tomatoes. I can't even describe it. I don't have a sophisticated palate, but the blend of flavors was magic. The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly. They also had Mahi which I will be trying next!“
“Great atmosphere with outdoor seating, the interior has a wonderful old time feel to it. The servers all check on you, but on busy days you may have to flag them down and they will attend your needs right away. The food is great too. They rotate different breweries around the country and we had some brews from Hawaii and another location, they were very good. Definitely stop by if you’re in town. Ohio State Buckeyes are definitely welcome.“
“My g'ness!! Pork chop dinner (singular, but really two meals worth!) was awesome... best turnip greens I've EVER had - including (gulp!) from my Kentucky and Mississippi grandmothers. The staff couldn't be friendlier, the menu is classic roadhouse and they deliver at every opportunity!“
“Jay's chicken is slapping, smacking, banging (aka amazing), and/ or whatever you want to call this DELICIOUSNESS! ?I live in Brier Creek, Raleigh, and I have passed this place over a dozen times heading back and forth to my father's house in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA, and I finally had to stop..I was starving, had a craving for chicken, and it was a packed house, so that alone tells me there's gotta be something special there!Wooow!!!! This was the literally the best fried chicken I ever had and that says A LOT ming from someone who worked as a cook and Su-Chef for close to 15 years (I'm even writing my own cookbook right now).I slso used to manage a Bojangles close to 20 years ago, and I thought they had good chicken and biscuits, but now I'm thinking to myself... Bojangles, who?!?! Lol! ?Not only did I get an 8 piece (which was massive), but I also bought mashed potatoes, collards, and green beans! My wife doesn't eat pork due to religious reasons (I still do, lol), and they don't out pork in anything, and guess what?!? It still tastes like they put the ham hocks in there, lol!The food, staff, cooks, and customer service were impeccable! The best part is that they serve some of my other favorite dishes such as livers, gizzards, fried catfish, etc. and please don't hate fpr it but I'm from NY. NY ain't got nuttin on Jay's, my fellow Carolinians! If you haven't been, you're doing yourself and your palate an injustice! Crazily enough, my wife and I looked at each other and said, "As long as Jay's is open, we are driving 45+ min. just for chicken n' fixins!!! Lol ?My tastebuds are still dancing, just thinking about going back to get some more! Please make sure you tip these folks handsomely as they deserve every penny!Thank you, Jay's team!!!“
“The pork was the definition of perfection. We all know when something smells really good but it's a disappointment. Well the pork smelled good but still didn't prepare you for how incredible it was going to taste. I've never had pork barbecue legitimately melt apart as if it had been cooked in a crockpot. Mac and cheese with penne pasta needs to be a standard, too. That was insanely good!I generally don't like beans. I had seconds of the beans. The whole spread was that good.“
“2 all beef dogs mustard, chili, slaw. Excellent!!! Hot, neatly made. Fast, was there less than 5 minutes. Apple turnover, also HOT and fresh and good. My drive thru coordinator was awesome, polite and patient. Respectable prices, simple dummy proof menu. Great job!!! I will be back....“
“I truly enjoyed my first experience at The village diner. Tony really knows how to make an amazing cocktail! He's super friendly and really knowledgeable. I had the spinach salad and it was truly to die for! I will definitely be back!“
