“This is a hidden gem. The food was amazing. It was a great experience. Some of the best mexican food i had in a long time. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I had fajitas taxanas. Big portions, plenty of steak, chicken and shrimp. The veggies were cooked to perfection. I also really enjoyed their salsa. The atomphere was cute, with hanging plants to look like you were outside on a veranda. The stample was pleasant, made accomdations as needed. Just a pleasant disposition. Then the robot server came out playing a cute little song. A great experience all around. I will be going back soon.Parking: Plenty of parking is available lm“
“The food was quite good and certainly reasonable and plentiful. Had fresh guacamole made right at our seat; it was excellent. The chips and salsa were included. The bar tender was friendly and was proud of the restaurant's product. We would certainly go again.“
“A Friday favorite. $6 for a 20 oz margaritas is the Friday special. Great food with quick service. The birria is a standout for any dish, tacos, quesadilla or burrito. The only downside is the extra charge for chips and salsa.A small outdoor seating area for warm weather.“
“The black bean empanada is absolutely delicious! The build your own burrito is amazing and super customizable so you can figure out exactly what is going into your burrito and by using ounce measurements, it can make it very easy to calorie count here! The kids meals are perfect and actually sized to feed my growing 8-year-old son! Plenty of food and always fresh and delicious!“
“Excellent tableside guacamole which isn’t always easy to find in NC. As a California native with family in Mexico I know good guac! This place has it. Margarita is really good as well! Nice clean location with great glass art and friendly fast service. Shrimp tacos were excellent and great refried beans also difficult to find in NC. Will be back! Best Mexican in the area.“
“Just came from having dinner there with Alondra as our server. She was an exceptional server and our experience there was outstanding! We ordered the queso con chorizo, the pollo especial, and the enchiladas verde. Loved every bite and then some! We definitely recommend and we will be back!“
“The chips and salsa were brought shortly after I was seated. The chips were warm, and the salsa was spicy but good. I ordered the shrimp and scallop fajita, which came with rice, guacamole salad, and a choice of tortilla (corn or flour). I had the flour tortillas. I added beans. I was pleasantly surprised when the dish came sizzling but wasn't burnt at all. It was so good. The rice was one of the best I've had. The beans were average. I had to try their fried ice cream. It was very good. I would have like honey drizzle, but the strawberry drizzle was good. I definitely recommend Monterrey.“
“I like the food and generally recommend this restaurant. There are three things that frustrate me considerably and they significantly impact how often we go.1. $4.25 for soft drinks? Sure, make money on drinks; you're not running a restaurant for your health, but $4!! Because of this, we decide against going 50% of the time we otherwise would. Because of this, when we do go, it is well understood, we all are getting water without exception. If they charged $2.00-$3.00 for soft drinks, we'd go far more often and we'd spend money on drinks. Again, $4? Shame on you.2. The robot gets in the way and doesn't appear to serve a purpose. Prior to its existence, waiters would bring our food and set it on our table. Now waiters follow the robot around and put the food it carries on our table. What's the value-add of this thing? Pointless several thousand dollars spent on an obstacle. I'm sure the robot is why they decided to charge $4 for a Coke.....I actually didn't see it the last time I was there and a friend of mine said he hasn't seen it in a while and thinks they got rid of it. If so, good for them; I only have 2 grievances then.3. The men's bathroom has no divider between the urinal and the sink. If you're using the urinal and someone uses the sink, you're basically presenting yourself to them. It's a lose-lose situation. I mean, we're men, it's a men's bathroom and to a great extent I'm fine in a situation wherein I need to do what I gotta do and someone does what they gotta do and neither of us cares about the others' situation. Unfortunately there's no option to ignore the dude using the urinal if you need to wash your hands. I wonder how many people have used the stall and returned to their table with dookie particle fingers because they were too uncomfortable to wash their hands beside a stranger's wiener. In summary, junk the robot (if not already done), charge $2.50 for Coke and put up a $40 partition beside the urinal and great success will follow! It's the simple things that make all the difference. It's mid April. I'll come back around mid-May and hope to see improvement. If not, then Azteca, Monterrey and maybe even Taxco get our business.“
