“I ordered the donkatsu and the yellowtail roll for take out.The yellowtail roll was very good, with minimal rice thats not flattened to death like some other places. It perfectly encompassed a large piece of yellowtail that tasted fresh. It was very addictive in taste and mouth feel for me.The donkatsu was breaded and fried perfectly with minimal breading (which i love) surrounding a nice juicy pork cutlet. Also very good.I definitely want to come back to try the other sushi options.”
“Best espresso beans in town - Cashmere and Dreamlands are my go-to. The guys at the store are extremely friendly and will answer any questions you have about the taste, process, etc.”
“we enjoy Bonefish restaurants, food is always on point& the service is too , Menu has plenty of options,my wife has a gluten allergy and they have a Gluten free menu & are always careful regarding her concerns of cross contamination. we are returning customers and always recommend to family & friendsDietary restrictions: Has a separate Gluten free menu with plenty of choices. They are very careful and avoid any chances of cross contamination.”
“My hubby and I favorite lunch spot. Quick service, affordable and tasty food. A really chill environment. Guacamole is so tasty and fresh. The tacos and quesadillas are so good!!!!”
“My favorite restaurant in the area from the first visit in 2014. I don't know how possible not to get a complete satisfaction here. We missed 3 years since covid, but the creativity of chef Adam has never changed. The food was excellent last night for my birthday celebration. The only wish is the servants are trained better.”
“Found this place while looking for a new spot on a Sunday evening. The beer was great, and this is the only brewery or bar I’ve been to in the Charlotte area that has decent lighting. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly and kind. Definitely recommend.”
“This place is definitely worth a visit!! Sushi is one of our favorite but hard to find a good place. This place checks all the boxes. Food- I think my rolls were Spider, Hibachi beef and Miru Mountain and they were sooooo good! My fiancee ordered a bento box and the meat was very good and tender. The service was great, the staff is very welcoming and attentive. The presentation was beautiful and price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is nothing pretentious, is on the darker side, more light would be nice. We will definitely be back! Enough parking right in front of the restaurant, so that is a plus!”
“Today I came to Ming Fu with my family and the service was absolutely amazing! As well as the food, it was so good. Fast service as well as good service, great spot in Matthews for anytime of day! 100% recommend!!”
“Blake was so awesome he was charismatic and kind. We went here for my partners birthday and he made us a super yummy dessert drink so so kind. Thank you Blake! We will definitely be back!”
“Arguably the best Chinese food in Charlotte. I realize the competition isn’t great but this place reminds me of the Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. They now offer dim sum during the day time hours. Service is good but, because if the crowds, wait times for food can be long. Ordering to go also runs long so pad that time into your expectations.”
“Mary was out server. Also tended bar. She is the epitome of excellence in making the time I spent with my wife here memorable. Mary helped us in purchasing the additional 2 for $10.00 offers as well as assisting us with our choice of bar drinks and our side choices. You need to keep this person and use her to teach others how to be exceptional servers.”
“Great atmosphere Family Friendly both Owner and His wife went to my table make sure our visit went well my server was excellent as well. I want to personally thank Mr Carson for making my dine in experience A plus This will be my go to spot moving forward hands down.Parking: In a plaza not an issueKid-friendliness: Great Menu my 4 year old loved the Mac and cheese for kidsMy 11 yr old had the steak”
“A decent Thai restaurant. Good selection dishes on the menu. The masaman curry was ok. Portion was a bit small.Pad see u was ok, as well. Not the bold Thai flavor that we prefer.”
“In recent years, especially during and since the covid 19 outbreak of 2020, Longhorn has become our preferred steakhouse. The quality is consistent and service attentive. The occasional slightly over cooked steak (still within an acceptable range of doneness) always available seating in a reasonable amount of time.Takeout during covid was exceptional with the exception of a single order mixup. Haven't used the takeout since 2021-2.”
“We had a party of 15. We came late in the evening and the staff was super friendly. The food I thought was going to be eh but was shockingly surprised that it came out so good. The cost was very reasonable. We’ll be coming back again that’s for sure.”
““I’ve had a lot of mid pizza in my day, this could be the best pizza I’ve ever had”- High praise from my 16 year old son with a mouthful of tomato basil pizzaI stopped here for a deep and strong cannoli craving and man did they deliver the remedy. Creamy and crunchy, so very delicious. Perfect blend of sweetness.Being a southern girl from birth, I’ve never understood the desire to eat messy chicken wings with so little meat benefit for all the work of getting a bite off the bone. Several years back someone introduced me to Bisontes, ordered me wings and the light bulb went off right over my head. So this is what real Buffalo wings taste like. I finally understand the craze now and am a wing consumer as long as they come from here. The atmosphere isn’t the big deal here. Most people coming in were getting pizza to go. This place takes extra care to produce delicious food. I believe their secret must be that they don’t scrimp on ingredients. Can’t wait to go back!”
“March 2024. Alright.... For real this time. Slacked off last 2 years but I mean it this time. Will never return or go to other buffets unless it's with a lucky girlfriend in the future. (Need to lose weight and get ripped/ buffed) Thanks for being so nice to me even though I was by myself, eating for 1. Saw a happy couple right beside my table and felt so happy for them. Someday, I will be like them. And someday, I wouldn't eat way too much to get my money's worth and just eat there to date. Someday. Sah Luh Nah Lah, Saronara.”
“Yet another perfect date night!! I'm so incredibly lucky to have such a great man!! And the waitress Cher, OMG we absolutely love her!! She was on point with everything!! Her recommendations were delicious ??!! Thank you for another wonderful experience ????”
“The food was so amazing I enjoyed it totally not to mention The manager Maria service was outstanding I will definitely be going back!shh! I’m a foodie been back already twice ! Thank you again’ for your prompt service with a smile ?”
“Fantastic Service on Sunday , Feb 18th 2024. Great waitress. Food was hot & fresh & we most definitely got our extra pound of shrimp in our bags. We decided NOT to do the all you can eat, because the $40.99 was a better deal in my opinion. You get more CRAB, more shrimp & me & my family most definitely got full. I will be back ☺️”
“The only thing keeping this from a 5 all around is the fact that they switched to a kiosk only ordering system. It’s not an easy to use system and things like paying and adding rewards aren’t intuitive and just a pain. I also enjoy interacting with staff and have made friends with some of the girls from seeing them so often. I hate the cold feeling ordering through a kiosk brings. I think it’s useful to have a kiosk available if it was very busy but it shouldn’t be the only way to order. I wish they’d do away with it.”
“Not just a review, but a story... First, don't get me wrong. I do not eat out so that I can write bad reviews about food and service. I eat out because I love good food and service. Also, I like to think that maybe my experience sparked a team meeting, a brainstorming session, a retraining or just a plain old 1:1 conversation at the establishment I reviewed. Which leads me to today's review of China Express. I had been going to this restaurant since moving to Matthews (pre-Pandemic). Moving to the south from NJ and working in NYC (the Melting Pot) for almost 30 years, I was on a quest to find the best cultural, culinary cuisine in my new town. It did not take me long to find my Chinese food love, which was also just around the way from my home (could drive there in 5-mins or take a leisurely 20-min stroll on a beautiful Summer evening). Fast forward to 2019 when we were all orderer to stay home (small businesses took a hit like no major corporation could imagine). Then the reopen... lights came back on, menus were revised and prices were increased. After all, everyone was trying to recoup the gut punch from these past 18-mos to 2-years. To those who made it... Salute! To those who didn't, we mourn. But to those who decided the dedicated customer would pay for their loss, shame on you. I noticed (post-COVID) returning to China Express was a dismal experience. My beloved wings, which we all know the 2x season / 2x fry is what sets the Asian wings apart from any other, had been fried, refried, fried again and laid to the side (like a bad wig) until you ordered them. Only to be microwaved and completely dried out by the time they made it to your home. My detachment and honest review of this experience were not favorable, causing me to date several different Chinese restaurants in the Charlotte / Matthews / Mint Hill area, with no committed attachment. So, today I'm feeling for Chinese food, but worked all day and did not feel like venturing out. Was going to try the restaurant at the Margaret Wallace / Idlewild corner, but wasn't up to trying our something new and decided to go where's closest and familiar. To my surprise, the wings were back to flavorable, full-sized and juicy. Fried rice was fluffy and fresh and my guy's House Special Lo Mein was loaded with the beef, chicken, pork and shrimp he remembers. There was meat in the wontons for the wonton soup (which some restaurants have gotten away from) and the hot & sour soup was loaded with spice. Kudos to China Express for bringing back the feeling and memories of the family run, cultural restaurant. Now off to replace or rekindle with the others that I have lost connection with during the pandemic!”
