“Puerta was so good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the sweet potato empanadas 10/10. I also had the queso dip which was an 8/10 I enjoyed. Lastly the Spivey margarita was super good and had the perfect amount of kick! I sat at the bar a genuinely enjoyed the service. I will definitely be returning.“
“We had a lovely experience here. Food was top notch and Cristo was our host and he was the best. We had the chopped salad with Chipotle Ranch and the Peppers appetizer. We both had the enchiladas and strawberry margaritas. Wonderfully delicious!“
“I've been twice in a week and I don't believe I've never been before this. Spinach wrap burrito with steak and chicken is so good. I want to try the salad next time. Also try the Blenheim hot Gingle Ale in the bottle. My manager recommended it and it is fabulous. Don't have a bottle opener? No worries if it's your first time they'll give you one! Don't be intimidated by the line at lunchtime it moves fast and Johnny is definitely worth it!“
“First time visiting. We were greeted with enthusiasm and samples so a custom sauce was able to be created for our palate. This place is busy with regulars that the staff greeted upon their arrival. Quick service and great food. I can't say enough about the enthusiastic atmosphere! People who love what they do.“
“Went there on a Sunday around 2:30p with a larger party of about 25 people. We were in large private room. The food was good, also reasonably priced. The service was just very slow during that time, It took over 30 mins to get drinks and over an hour to get our orders.“
“Must try taco place in Charlotte!!! We got the corn ribs and trio to start. Both SOOO good, fresh and so flavorful! I got two vegetarian tacos and my bf got taquitos. Mexican is our go to cuisine and the first thing I said was that the tacos were hands down the best vegetarian tacos I’ve had in Charlotte. He loves the taquitos as well. Everyone that worked there is so nice, friendly, and helpful. Also they have a great patio outside! If you’re looking for you new favorite Mexican spot- go here!“
“The food and drinks are reasonably priced. Food tastes really good and big portions. Very clean and spacious inside. The service was a bit slow after the food arrived, however we did come at a peak time. A manager was attentive and quickly got us what we needed.“
“*PICTURES OF THE ENTIRE MENU HERE*Ate here for the first time today for lunch. It was lined up out the door but the line moved very quickly. I got the #1 and it was delicious! I should have just got the cheese sauce only on top instead of the cheese sauce, tomato sauce, and sour cream but it was still good ? At least now I know for next time. You get a bag of chips with salsa with every meal. The service was excellent ?? the workers worked quickly to get orders completed and it only takes a few minutes to get your food. If you get a drink, you can make your own by just grabbing a cup at the drink station and choosing what you'd like to drink. The lady taking the orders was very kind and sweet and happy to serve the people. They speak English and Spanish. I got my 1 year old a cheese quesadilla for $3! He loves it. All together I spent under $15 for my meal, his quesadilla, and a drink. ? I'm pretty happy about that. I never knew this place even existed today and now I can't wait to eat there again. Overall a 10/10 experience. We will most definitely be back. ??????????♥️???“
“Que Bueno! Easily a 5 star review. You'll be hard pressed to find better Mexican around this area. I had the Soap De Pollo, which comes with a side of fried rice. Big chunks of white meat chicken with avocados tomatoes & cilantro in a savory broth and a large portion. I also had a chicken and a steak taco. Good sized flour tortilla filled with generous amounts of meat with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Just delicious and a great size. Miguel was my Server when I sat at the bar and watched ESPN Deportes. For a moment I thought I might be in Mexico as all the staff is bilingual and they were all interested in watching the soccer game on the big screen bar. Large open & airy dining room, very festive & colorful. There is also a nice outdoor covered patio. A very comprehensive menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. So many good choices, it was a challenge to make a decision. All this served with complimentary tortilla chips and you get a choice of 4 different types of salsa, see my photo, they were all good but the 'house' salsas was best IMO. It looks like they even have live entertainment from time to time. Great value for the money and the food quality and selection is excellente!!“
“I wish I had learned about this place earlier! Food is awesome and reasonably priced. The staff are genuinely nice people. You can tell that they all like one another and like what they do. Atmosphere is super chill and happy. Did I mention the awesome food?? I am looking forward to being a regular!“
“This place was SO GOOD. The complementary chips and salsa are what set the tone for me they were so tasty and then my food came out. All me and my sister could do was shake our heads in astonishment. Servers were kind and the space was clean“
“Had lunch with some girlfriends, the plan was tacos and margs, but our greedier sides took over and we all order burritos…No regrets. The guacamole was so so good. I would recommend the Queso with chorizo and if you don’t finish it it reheats really well on the stovetop.“
“A very pleasant surprise when we had to spend a night at the airport hotel (Windham) next door. I was expecting the usual mediocre Mexican fare, but the food here was really well made and the menu is huge. Don't be fooled by the backwater location and 1960s look. Miguel's is top notch.“
“I hadn't had paella in years. Their Mexican take on it was right on. My husband had never had it and loved it. The tropical margaritas were a treat, and an experience making it extra special. The mango cheesecake was the best dessert I've ever had, so light, creamy (not grainy) and delicious.Parking: The parking would have been fine but it's obviously a very popular restaurant and there's lots of traffic in and out. It's worth it!“
“The best Honduran restaurant in all of Charlotte with the best customer service I have ever had, everyone here is friendly and helpful. The place is always very clean. Excellent cooks too, the food always comes out well cooked, very good food. ??“
“Decent burritos and tacos for Charlotte. Can be better. I miss California burritos from San Diego, so I was happy to see that Mal Pan has one. I didn’t like that they put inside tomatoes, some white cheese. Would prefer more meat and fries with some cheesy sauce but overall it was good and my craving for California burrito was fulfilled. I wish the meat was softer for it. The shrimp burrito was blunt, and there was mostly rice and beans. I personally don’t like when burrito is full of rice and beans. Tacos was good especially the one with plantain but I think it’s too expensive for Charlotte. Probably it’s a fair price I’m just comparing it with good expensive places in San Diego.“
“Though the menu seems limited, it's incredibly impressive. They serve inventive and upscale Mexican cuisine, as well as a wide selection of tequila. Their offerings include tacos, bowls, main courses, fajitas, soups/salads, tequilas, margaritas, beer, and wine. The vibrant atmosphere, combined with the amazing food, creates an unforgettable dining experience. If you're in Charlotte, join the creative fiesta at QueOnda.“
“New to Charlotte and 1st time here. The flavors are robust! Everything was delish and to top it off, they have a salsa bar!! We tried all of them, I think there were 7, and they all had their own unique flavor. I did manage to pick out my top faves, but they were all good! This place will become a go to for us!!Parking: Easy getting in. Spaces a little tight, harder getting out!“
“Axel is an amazing person. He always makes us feel very welcome. His service is outstanding. He always has the best attitude. Always looking forward to seeing him! Leo the manager is also very attentive and makes sure everyone feels at home!“
“Good food, staff and service were excellent. Love the decor throughout the place.Several Mexican food places overcook the food and it comes out very dry. This food was well cooked with good flavor, I have been twice during lunch time, and will be back again.“
“I have visited this location on several occasions during the workweek for lunch. Ive always been greeted in a friendly manner and seated right away. Theres ample seating and the location is quite large and good for groups. Food comes out fast and piping hot. Very flavorful. Their menu has something for everyone in your group. Steak fajitas and chicken soup are my go tos!“
“Super recommended, the shepherd ones are delicious, and what can we say about the very rich and spicy green sauce. ??I read comments before going about the sauce that was very spicy, and obviously it is spicy, that's why it's called salsa, in addition to being a Mexican restaurant, we Mexicans should know that.“
“My husband and I eat Mexican food as often as we can, it's our fav and somehow have never known about this place. We ate there tonight and it was THE BEST Mexican food we have ever had. We are already making plans to go back next weekend. We had short rib queso, short rib tacos and chicken taquitos and the best palamos. We'll be back time and time again.“
“I stopped in for lunch yesterday and had a serious craving for sopa de pollo. Hands down, this is the best sopa de pollo I've had from any restaurant! In addition, my waiter was extremely kind and outgoing. I don't know his name, but he appeared to have black hair that was blonde in areas and pulled back in a hair tie. Super nice guy. Great experience and will definitely be back!“
“My delivery was delayed due to Uber eats so I was sure with the extra wait food would be cold but to my surprise it was still warm and everything was so good! We ordered the steak tacos, quesabirria tacos and a Pepsusa, they provided many sauces and the consume broth had plenty of meat, onion & cilantro. I’m getting over a sickness but I’ll be sure to try it again when I have my full tastebuds back. Definitely recommend!“
“This was me and my friends first time here and this restaurant is 10/10!!! We had Natalya as our server and she was such a sweetheart and provided the best customer service! I definitely will be returning and having her as my server! She made the visit worth wild.“
“This is a hole in the wall spot with very good authentic Mexican food. Delicious. We ordered the birria tacos with rice. Chips and salsa are complimentary. This place does not have a liquor license so no margaritas with your meal. Seating is sparse but the server is attentive.Excellent food. Atmosphere/location is decent.“
“I was long distance planning a baby shower and I needed amazing vegan spread. So thankful I found Sasha & Soul Miner’s Garden! She assisted me with menu planning, was very communicative throughout the entire process, and the food was phenomenal!! Not only did I get a variety of brunch dishes (quiches, pastries, mac&cheese, etc.), but she also baked the cake & cupcakes for the event. So grateful I found her & this wonderful place!“
“Very good food and diversity of dishes, great customer services, Melissa & Nicolle really takes care of the Customers really enjoy their Beef ribs and shrimps plate, great flavor and decoration was awesome ?Vegetarian options: They do have some vegetarian dishesParking: Big space for parkingKid-friendliness: You can bring your kids with no problem, they do have a good kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have wheelchair ♿️ spots“
“they are very professional and good is delicious staff is very nice but I did have one problem my first time going there we never got seated waited over an hour and they kept saying soon or five more minutes when all they had to say was we can't sit you people tonight it was five of us so I took it up on myself and told everyone let's order and leave no one still didn't acknowledge us to even say we apologize or nothing now that was very unprofessional but all in all I love the food and how nice the staff was and I will go back but hopefully we can be seated next time thank you DORIS ANTHONY oh and that was on a Friday Feb.23rd“
“We got seated right away. It was Sat at 12 and it was empty. Very good service. Cantarito is $23!!! It was delicious, but I can't pay that again. The ceviche was delicious. The rice and beans are good. The salsa is not spicy but has good flavor. The tacos have handmade tortillas which are good but the carne can use some salt. The chorizo can was good. Horchata drinks are a good size and are delicious.“
“We passed by this place, and it seemed super chill and casual. We have the shrimp & chicken burrito and the bbq mahi-mahi tacos. The tacos were great, but the shrimp & chicken burritos and sides were okay. It was filling, and the service was pretty good. Would come back for a quick bite but not the first place I would bring someone visiting Charlotte for the first time.“
“Upon entering, I was greeted and sat at the bar area as I was dining alone. The bartender asked if I would like chips and salsa, and I thought it was a good idea to start. The salsa was one I was unaccustomed to. This rendition featured a mix of diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and a surprising addition of corn. The result was a refreshing and slightly tangy concoction.A Half Frozen, Half on the Rocks Spicy Margarita was the drink of choice and it complimented the chips and salsa quite well. For the meal I ordered the Thai shrimp wrap it was filling without compromising on taste or quality. There were two ladies behind the bar and both were attentive to not only the needs of the customers but to the staff as well. While many places are great to go and eat, every aspect of the meal surpassed expectations.Loved the shirt fight cancer, live life, eat more tacos“
“Went a few years ago with one of my kids. We did a mukbang and tried a few of them empanadas. My favorite by far was their most unique in my opinion- guava and cheese! I also tried their spinach which was regular and not sure which meat one my daughter got. Service was fine, nice enough. We sat outside and that was good. The vibe of the food hall is hectic and busy but also kind of trendy. Food prices reflect that vibe.“
“I live in Columbia SC, for work reasons, I go to Charlotte NC once a month, since I went to Los Reyes the first time, I have become accustomed to going to eat there every time I go to Charlotte NC, very good food and very good customer service.“
“Loved everything I got from here. The cabeza is so tender. And I don't know what it was about the burrito, but it was amazing. The red and green sauces both have a little kick which is nice. Just wish I had come to the place earlier in my trip!!“
“Lunch at Anita's Mexican Grill. If you haven't been here, you're missing out. They are only open 11am until 2:30 pm so it's definately just a lunch place. The quantity of meat they give you in these tacos is unreal, especially for the price ! I got the carne asada taco on a corn tortilla ($4). The meat was a bit overcooked, but had a ton of flavor. Plus just LOOK at how much meat they give you ! I couldn't fold the taco, it was that much meat !!! I ended up eating all the meat I could inside the taco and then using a fork to eat the rest that would not fit inside. I got a chili relleno special ($9.50) which came with either a hardshell or flour tortilla with either shredded chicken or ground beef with rice on the side. I got the shredded chicken. It was nice and juicy and had nice flavor. Just look at how stuffed it is ! These came with chips and salsa too. Hubby got one beef hard shelled taco and one chicken soft shelled taco. This came with chips and salsa. They have fountain drinks with free refills. The seating area is small. However, they have both high chairs and low chairs (See photo). We came at 1:10pm and lunch was starting to die down, so we were able to get a table. However, I had read online that starting at Noon the line is out the door and seating is scarce. Highly recommend for getting alot of good food for the money spent. Orders are taken at the counter then they call your name. The only thing I did not like were that the people behind the counter were wearing a mask. If someone on their staff is sick, they should not be serving food. The masks also prevent genuine interaction with the customer. FYI..Everything is given to you "to go" whether you plan to eat there or not.“
“Great Honduran food. Cannot go wrong with a Baleada con Carne, pupusas, or la Chuleta con Tajadas. I usually take out as i am not a fan of the service. Good food though.P.S. I think the owners should open a franchise in the Winston Salem area.“
“I’m from Southern California born and raised and have been looking for a good breakfast burrito. All these people that say that Rhino place or whatever it’s called has good breakfast burritos, I’m sorry but that place is very very average to my palette. But to each their own. Señor Taco surpassed my expectations. It’s was sooooooo so good. I got the eggs, hash browns, cheese, beans, rice, bacon and salsa in there and it was amazing. Highly recommend.“
“Yo si lo recomiendo porque yo tengo mucho tiempo iyendo a comer ahí. Y nunca me a enfermado la comida ni a mi familia yo soy clienta desde hace mucho tiempo y tienen muy excelente servicio al cliente todas las muchachas son super amables . Muy recomendable“
“This is a small restaurant that has a small store attached to it. If you're looking for Hispanic products you can't find at other stores this may be the place. It's like a corner store. Not full shopping. Anywho the food is fantastic! The food is already cooked. But if you're looking for another item.on the menu they make it right in front of you. Parking is tight. Not a full restaurant Parking. They do however have dine in seating. Fresh made juices. Definitely a place to try out. You ❤️ affordable Spanish food? Authenticity made hispanic food low cost. Love it!Parking: About 15 spaces. It's a plaza.“
“I lived in AZ over 50 years and had access to some amazing tamales. One bite transported me back to Tucson. I'm so glad I got a mixed dozen- pork with green sauce, chicken with red sauce, and cheese with jalapeños. Sounds so good I may have another one for lunch!“
“This place was absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying it and for a busy Saturday it was great service and time on getting my friend and I’d order out. It was great and I enjoyed the food. I recommend the nachos, with pulled chicken, and get them loaded with the guacamole, queso, and refried beans. Get nachos and they have deals on margs too on Saturday!“
“OH MY WORD!! By far the best tacos I have had in Charlotte, so so good! I got takeout tonight, tacos - asada, al pastor (and I barely eat pork!) and grilled shrimp along with plantains (amazing!) and queso (guilty pleasure). The queso was okay but my bar for an authentic place is the tacos. AMAZING! It came with two salsas and I could have used more. I ordered at the register for takeout and it was about 25 mins to be ready but it is a small place and worth it. I have lived about ten mins from this place and could kick myself for not having come sooner. GO NOW!!“
“They have good tacos there but they are small I usually eat 3 I ordered 4 and I could've ate 5 honestly also the salsas were spicy !?and that was just the best thing. The menu is kid friendly they have tenders and fries which was great !The inside is small so there Is like 3 tables butThe lady there was really nice and made sure to get our drinks to us and ask if we needed anything. We will definitely be back to eat here if we are ever in charlotte again.“
“A group of us came here for tacos and drinks. I had the chicken, shrimp, and fish tacos. Every taco was tasty. Their tacos are in soft shells. They also offer a spicy and mild sauce for the table. Drinks were really good and service was excellent. Our waitress was so friendly and funny. If you're looking into authentic Mexican food, come here!“
“We had a fantastic server told us what was going on. Felt for us for waiting for all the confusion. Best service in a long time! Pre covid times it felt like for a bit. I sure do miss those times. Covid has changed life drastically. But this restraunt makes you forget it's going on! So thanks for letting us just have a lovely night out!“
“I embarked on a culinary quest in Charlotte, NC, and stumbled upon a hidden gem - Taqueria el Quetzal, parked unassumingly in the Citgo gas station lot at Archdale Drive and South Blvd. Seeking an authentic “hole in the wall” experience, I gravitated towards this vibrant taco truck. My appetite was ambitious: three tacos - chicken, steak, and seasoned pork, and for a twist, some fried plantains with sour cream and cheese. The tacos, nestled in double corn tortillas, were adorned with cilantro, tomatillo salsa, onions, radish, lime, and a brave whole jalapeño. As a self-proclaimed gringo, I’m a flour tortilla fan, but for the sake of authenticity, I dove into the corn tortillas, finding them delightfully fresh and warm.Payment? Breezy! They accept cards, and the little pager system for order readiness is efficient. My feast was ready in a precise 10 minutes.Be warned: it’s a take-out scenario. I ended up savoring my meal in my car, and no regrets there! The first bite of the fried plantains was a revelation - hot, sweet, and perfectly ripe. An absolute must-try!The tacos each told their own story. The chicken was a marinated masterpiece, tender and flavorful. The seasoned pork was a close second, slightly cooler but packed with taste. The steak taco, while flavorful, had some chewy bits of fat - might skip that next time.A word of caution for my fellow spice-averse friends: the tomatillo salsa is authentic and fiery. I learned that after a daring taste test. It’s got a medium heat that can surprise you!At just over $13, the meal was a steal for the quality and quantity. Apart from the incredible tacos and plantains, Taqueria el Quetzal also serves up quesadillas, burritos, tortas, fajitas, and even American staples like Philly cheesesteaks and hamburgers.Verdict: If you’re in Charlotte and craving authentic Mexican street food or the best fried plantains of your life, Taqueria el Quetzal is your go-to spot. Don’t miss this culinary jewel in a taco truck!“
“Wow!!!! We just got totally spoiled by Adrian and the rest of the crew at Azul tacos and beer!!! Everything was super authentic and SoCal style!! This is our new Mexican food spot.. Thanks guys for such a great lunch and experience.See ya soon“
