“Reuben was delicious, the purportedly “small” order of fries is actually huge (seriously, largest potato wedges I have ever seen) and the beer prices are surprisingly reasonable. The people that run the place are very nice and welcoming. Can’t go wrong.I didn’t stay in the hostel, but if it’s ran anything like the restaurant, it’s probably awesome as well.“
“We love visiting the winery every time of year. They have wonderful wine, incredible scenery, food truck(s), and some of the best local musicians. in cooler weather you can sit by a fire pit and make smores from their prepackaged kits, sit in one of the covered areas or bundle up and enjoy the outdoors. In all seasons you can enjoy the bold stream, hike up the layered Vineyards, enjoy views of Grandfather Mountain and just enjoy their great wines or frozen drinks or even non alcoholic options. we love sharing an afternoon with friends and family at Grandfather..our favorite winery in the High Country.“
“Very cool spot. Great beer seltzer selection. Place was packed on Sat eve. Only complaint is live music upstairs was sooo loud even downstairs was so loud had to scream to carry on a conversation. Music was great but you don't need to have it blaring to be good.“
“Came when they first opened couple years ago. Knew it was gonna be cool place! They have done lots to the property since then. Serving local brews and wines. Also serving some good BBQ! The porch is nice to chill and watch the kids enjoy trout fishing. Owners are nice as can be. Wish they'd play some local mountain/bluegrass/ easy music rather than hard to meh rock. Am sure they are not even aware, and this is not a negative hit on them. We are just old souls with regard to music. It can make or break a spot for us. This one still wins in our opinion! It's beautiful here.“

“Such a cute little ice cream shop. We had a bunch of different flavors (cookiejar, chocolate moose tracks, peanut butter cup, and something else). To make a long story short…the ice cream was super yummy and the flavors were so unique! Totally recommend.PS. Our dogs loved the french vanilla! Who ever served us was super nice and allowed us to bring in our dogs briefly so we could choose what flavors we wanted.“

“We had a great wine with an exceptional meal. You will have an excellent meal served by a wait person who is happy you are there. Pork tenderloin was great, according to my husband. The pasta of the day was great & the upside down pineapple cake with buttermilk ice cream was an awesome way to top off an outstanding experience,“
“This review is for the winery.I had a flight and sampled a good number of their wines, including various dry reds, one of which was fermented from a grape I had never heard of, and blueberry wine. All were good and the service was personable. I will return.“

“This place was recommended to us by others we met hiking while hiking in the area. What a gold mine! For those who smoke meats at home and can't find anything to compare, this is the place. Great food, delightful owners, gorgeous view.“

“My husband and I recently went to Banner Elk to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. We stopped in at The Village for a couple drinks and an appetizer. It was amazing!!! Our server was Derek and he was fantastic! This is definitely a place we will visit again. Excellent wine and food selections.“
“Best wings I’ve ever had. Also never heard of a pizzadilla before but it was amazing especially with the home made ranch. My husband said you can taste the dill in it, it was really good, I wish I could take it back home with me. We came to the area for our honeymoon and we’ve made a trip their 3 times this week because of how good their food is and my husband loves their velvet panda oatmeal stout and the copper elk ale.“

“Sorrento's is a real gem in the mountains of North Carolina. Located near the traffic light in Banner Elk it performs more like it is on Houston Street in Little Italy. The restaurant offers a Chef's table experience that is sure to appeal to foodies who appreciate presentation of creative dishes with local inspiration.I prefer the more relaxed Bistro that caters to locals, renters and travellers. The menu is quite robust with items for almost any taste. The servers are well trained and will make your time there enjoyable. The floor has several tables with marble tops. The chairs are matched in style and felt very comfortable to me. You can also opt to sit at the bar for a unique perspective. The prices are in line with the quality of the food and ambiance. That said, it is affordable and consistent with the area.I make the trip from Chapel Hill anytime the urge for terrific Italian food strikes. And by the way, it is well worth it! Strongest recommendation for Sorrento's!“

“I like the seating outside on the patio. Our server was friendly and efficient I had the turkey croissant and could only eat half. The pasta salad was excellent for a side. My partner had the French dip and the seasoning on the fries was really good. Very enjoyable meal“

“Great experience! Called ahead for a large party of 16! We were celebrating my sister getting married and wanted to karaoke. They sat us at two corner tables. Our waitress Alex was fanatic. She was very attentive, personable, and organized. The food was great. I don’t think anyone could have left hungry. The queso burger was delicious. Just the perfect amount of all ingredients and so savory. The DJ was interactive and energetic. The owner was so nice and friendly. He went above and beyond to make our group feel welcome. Over all a most perfect night!“
