If you don’t order this Mac ‘n Cheese, that’s your fault!) From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in for something special. The rainbow “Don’t Forget Kindness” window etchings, the upscale modern yet retro decor, the attention to detail, and then learning the history, dating back to 1945 — it’s all so impeccable! Oh, and a fantastic cocktail. The 1806 — Orange Infused Bourbon, Brulee'd Brown Sugar, Bitters! Suffice it to say that I will make it a point to be back, often 🏳️‍🌈 Highly recommend!”

The pizza was outstanding—perfectly blistered crust, fresh mozzarella, bright tomato sauce, and basil that tasted incredibly fresh. Every bite had that authentic, wood-fired flavor that pizza lovers look for.

The quality of the ingredients really shines through, and the balance of sauce, cheese, and crust was spot on. Even as visitors, we can see why this place has such a great reputation.

“I first tried Dampf BBQ many years ago when they were still out at the fairgrounds, and I can honestly say it has remained the best and most consistent barbecue I’ve had both in this state and across the country. I’ve traveled extensively during my military career, which has given me the chance to try some truly great barbecue spots nationwide. Even with all that experience, Dampf BBQ is still my number one. The meat is always incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and cooked with the kind of care you can taste in every bite. Beyond the food, the people here make the experience even better. This is a dedicated, family-owned, local business that clearly takes pride in what they do. I’ve seen comments about wait times and pricing, but in my opinion, anything truly good is worth waiting for, and anything made with real quality is worth paying for. I drive an hour just to get this barbecue, and I’ve never once been disappointed. It’s consistently excellent, every single time. If you’re on the fence… don’t be. It’s 100% worth the trip. Ajja is the first to fall into this category – from Ambience, Staff, and Culinary Creations – the restaurant has now raised the bar, challenging local restaurants to really push the envelope. Over the past 20 years, I have traveled to more than 68 countries, 33 states, and six continents. Often, the restaurants that truly rank higher are those you least expect. “This was my first visit to the Raleigh location on May 28, 2025 with two out of town guests. three diff dishes were ordered..brisket, St. Louis rubbed ribs and burnt ends. The brisket and burnt ends were amazing. The ribs however were dry and tough. The meat certainly did not fall off the bone. I would not recommend the ribs based on this experience.”

“My daughter took me out on Mother's day. It was fabulous. Haven't been feeling well. Had cancer surgery and radiation so appetite has been really off. The whole experience from getting in the door greeting, drinks order ,food, service was awesome. I had the steak and red skin potatoes and just right zucchini and squash. Oh my goodness the squash was cooked just right I asked Nianna if she could insure that vegetables were cooked done but not mushy she insured the cook had done them just like I liked them they were on the money. As I sat and watched, Kia and Nanna were constantly.moving. Made my day Store was clean customer service fabulous and food was delicious. Magnificent experience”

I simply sauteed chopped onion, bell pepper and garlic, added Sarge's sauce and chicken broth, and then added the sauted shrimp. I plated it by putting it on top of my cooked grits and then topping it with a bit of chopped tomato. Yum!”

Kea, Sonny, Yasmine, Amanda, Treyshawn, Ann, Queen etc all amazing servers… The cooks are on another level also, eggs and steak always cook perfectly…. The team just flows and serves all tables and even Togo orders so efficiently.. This is because of the their top tier Store director Domo!!!! I have watched him for 10 plus years mold and keep this team running on an untouchable level…… 20 stars”

I recommend arriving a bit early as there may be a short wait (reservations are not accepted), but there is bar seating available. Upon arrival, you can add your name to the waitlist, which is a nice touch. The restaurant is consistently busy, yet always well-maintained with clean facilities. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and go the extra mile to ensure a welcoming experience. Whether dining with friends or adults, everyone can find something appetizing on the menu. Here is what we order on our most recent visit: Karage Wings $12 Pork Belly Buns (2) $9 Kids Miso Ramen with Chicken and Eggs Grilled Chicken Rice Bowl $12 The food was delicious overall, and I particularly enjoyed the wings and the pork belly bun. A tip to keep in mind: it's best to finish the wings while you're at the restaurant. If you have any leftovers and take them home, they don't reheat well.”

“If you’re looking for great Italian food in Raleigh, Pierro’s Italian Bistro is definitely worth trying. The atmosphere is really nice and the service was excellent. I ordered the risotto and it was incredible. I’m very particular about tiramisu, and this one definitely passed the test. We also tried a chocolate dessert and the beignets and they were so good. Everything we had was delicious. It was a really great experience overall. It’s clear they really care about the food and the experience. We will definitely be back.”

“I’ve been here before and the service before was 5 star and 5 star food - would recommend to everyone. This time, unfortunately, was very disappointing and they must have really just had an off night - we came for a special birthday and they didn’t have MANY of the side items (no fries, no sweet potato cups, no carrots, no butternut squash soup, etc) and service was ok. Our birthday boy had to wait at least an extra 10-15 minutes to receive his burger after they got the order wrong - we all wanted to wait for him and most of our food got a little cold. The broccoli he ordered was very undercooked (he said it was raw, but it was just slightly steamed). Never refilled the tea drinks - not sure if it was free refills, but it would have been nice to ask. They also didn’t have two of the desserts we wanted to get, either! (No chocolate cake or peach & raspberry crumble. I’ll probably be back but was very disappointed this time - if it was my first time I might not would have wanted to come back. Luckily, I’ll give them another chance since I’ve had such great service and food in the past.”
