“Wanted to call in an order, tried calling but it went straight to an automated message saying the mailbox had not been set up yet. A storm had just come through so I figured the phones were out due to that reason. Drove up to the pick up window and asked if I could place an order and then come back in a little bit to pick it up since I couldn’t call it in. The man at the window took my order and said just wait a little bit and it will be ready. After an extremely short wait I was handed my food. The cheeseburgers and hush puppies here are so delicious!!Parking: There is public parking behind the restaurant and a few spots in the front also.“

“Visited Johnny's Barbecue last week to try some of their baby flounder. The restaurant was clean, wait staff pleasant and the fried flounder hot, crunchy and very tasty. I enjoyed the flounder, the delicious white slaw, slightly sweet hush-puppies and the billowy french fries. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. To top it off, the owner visits each table to ensure customers are satisfied - doesn't get any better than that!“

“A Symphony of Smoke: A Culinary Journey at Smoke Pit BarbecueIn the heart of Salisbury, North Carolina, amidst whispers of barbecue bliss, lies a culinary haven known as Smoke Pit Barbecue. Guided by the fervent recommendations of local friends, we embarked on a flavorful expedition, eager to savor the essence of true Southern barbecue. As we crossed the threshold of this gastronomic sanctuary, I was met with a surprising dichotomy. The modernist allure of Smoke Pit, with its sleek interior and contemporary accents, danced in harmony with the rustic charm expected of a barbecue sanctuary. Adorned with the vibrant creations of local artists, the walls whispered tales of community and culture, setting the stage for an unforgettable feast.Seated promptly by the effervescent Daisy, our journey began. With each glance at the menu, anticipation swelled within me, fueled by the promises of succulent brisket and smoky delights. Despite a slight misstep in communication, where my yearning for onion rings was lost in translation, the culinary voyage pressed on.In the company of cherished friends, we embarked on a symphony of flavors, each dish a crescendo of taste and texture. My chosen muse, the Brisket sandwich on a brioche canvas, beckoned with tender whispers of smoke-kissed perfection. Though marred by a lingering vein of fat, the brisket exuded a melody of flavor that danced upon the palate, a testament to the artistry of Smoke Pit's craft.Beside me, my wife reveled in the indulgence of a brisket-loaded baked potato, its hearty embrace a testament to the decadence of Southern comfort. As our friends delved into the BBQ mixer platter, a cornucopia of barbecue delights, laughter mingled with the heady aroma of smoked meats, weaving memories as intricate as the flavors before us.Amidst the clinking of glasses and the laughter of companionship, Smoke Pit Barbecue transcended the realm of mere dining, becoming a tapestry of shared moments and cherished memories. For in the alchemy of good food and great company, bonds are forged and stories are woven, each meal a chapter in the epic saga of friendship.Though Smoke Pit Barbecue may have faltered in the pursuit of ambiance, its soulful offerings and warm hospitality earned it a place in our hearts. With a variety of sauces adorning our table like treasures waiting to be discovered, each bite was a revelation, a testament to the culinary prowess that resides within these hallowed walls. In the tapestry of life, where flavors intertwine and memories are etched upon the palate, Smoke Pit Barbecue stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, beckoning travelers and locals alike to partake in its savory symphony. For in the embrace of good food and good friends, true magic is found, a sentiment that lingers long after the last bite is savored.Rating: A-Thomas CorraoWe are a couple traveling around the USA in our RV. “Heard so much about this place so I decided to try it for lunch. Great choice. I got a sample of the chicken salad and it was just like homemade. Ordered some and had the pulled pork tray for lunch. Another great choice. The cashier was so friendly and nice and was patient as it was my first visit. I am definitely returning soon. Price was reasonable and money well spent. Hight recommend for some home cooking. Can’t wait to go back to try other menu items.“

“This BBQ restaurant is located on the north side of Salisbury in close proximity to both the Catawba and Livingstone College campuses and the Bob Heffner Veterans Medical Center. Walking into this barbeque restaurant was like a trip back in time to my younger years when there was a barbeque joint in every small community serving great chopped and sliced barbeque sandwiches and trays. Also reminded me of the freshly grilled hotdogs and hamburgers served all the way with chilli, slaw and onion and don't forget the pimento cheese burgers. College Barbeque has all these memories served fresh daily. They deserve more than a 5 Star rating !Parking: Small parking lot that fills up quickly during the lunch time rush other times plenty of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking at entrance only downside is the restrooms are outside the building“

“Enjoy our post Valentine's dinner at the Texas Road Hosue here in Salisbury,NC. my husband had the 16 once Texas ribeye, cooked medium rare, corn, and mixed vegetables. I had the house salad w/Italian vinaigrette dressing a sweet potato w/ butter and brown sugar. Our server Dallas was great and the atmosphere was typical for a Thursday night at a restaurant that doesn't open until 4pm I'm just glad we got there 5 minutes after they opened because it got pretty crowded pretty quick.Parking: Getting a parking spot is fine because there's ample parking.Kid-friendliness: There were kids there and they even have a Special on Monday's for kids which I thought was pretty col for a steakhouse.“
