“The place is a wee small. But, what truly matters is the taste and quality of the food overall. It's all homecooked, fresh, quite tasty, and family-business owned! Keep it up, small businesses! Great for the Latino cuisine, I would say! Highly recommend. Tasty. Affordable. Would definitely go again. I have brought family and friends to this restaurant, and they were all hands-down surprised and satisfied with the quality and the overall cuisine/taste/price! The chicken stew was impeccable. GIANT chicken all to you for an affordable price under 15 bucks, too! Not really ample parking, but it's more like a park, order, buy, and go type of place“
“Staff was very attentive and the food was very good. One of our waiters, Gerbin was especially very kind and accommodating, doing everything he could to fulfill our requests. Very nice! Our bartender Kevin also had a kind demeanor, very friendly and attentive.“
“I was amazed for the quality of service provided from this establishment. Luis was none less but exceptional on the service in every way. Alejandro was very helpful as well. Sometimes I don’t go out to a fine dining restaurant for the fear of being excluded because of my race but not here. It’s nice to see that the world changing from when I was growing up in South of this country. Please try the calamari and Prime Rib (both recommended). God bless.“
“Great ambience, excellent service, very good food, and drinks/cocktails that actually don't try to save on alcoholParking: There's usually no parking available on that block, but there's a valet at all times that will park your car for only $5“
“It was like dining in a 5 star establishment. I had the surf & turf. The jumbo shrimp.was perfectly cooked and the steak tips unbelievably great. I never had their specialty desert cake. It was an unbelievable experience, so good. The owner Jose was so friendly and made me feel like family. Overall, I highly recommend Chloes. My go to place!“
“We are regulars at this longstanding Iberian favorite. Somehow it effortlessly combines what seems daunting to most restaurants: an elegant ambiance of white tablecloth settings, formally attired waitstaff and festive but calm vibe — with excellent food at a great value. We had a few minutes to wait for the time of our reservation so sat at a table in the bar, joining locals who were reconnecting while eyeing the eternal soccer game on TV. We ordered a bottle of red wine for $40 for four, which we then brought to our table. There are many delicious seafood and land options, all preceded by a generous bowl of homemade soup. The owner, a lovely woman, presides over the long room. There is even a parking lot next to the restaurant to ease any Newark jitters from suburban sojourners.Parking: It’s not a huge lot but we’ve been lucky most times. Street parking is not hard if needed.“
“My new favorite place for authentic Dominican food! I can’t believe we live like 2 blocks away and never came here before. I do wish there was more seating but hey there was enough for us! The place is clean and the staff is welcoming and respectful. The food was phenomenal! I was ready to go back for dinner. I will definitely become a regular at this place. Thanks for providing such quality food.“
“The best Costa Rican restaurant in New Jersey! I love their chifrijo dish (with chicken), their seviche is heavenly, and their seafood soup is marvelous. Their strawberry banana smoothie juice is very tastey and refreshing as well. The atmosphere in the restaurant inside and out is simply beautiful. Pura Vida“
“The best Dominican food according to my boyfriend who is Dominican. I though it was great food. It was my first time here as I am not a local in this area and I have to say it was delicious 100 times better than the Dominican Restauraunt we are regulars at.“
“My dad first put me on this restaurant by its delicious, fresh takeout food. We'd typically order octopus or whole fish. My parents decided to take us out for our birthday and it was not a disappointment. I felt like I was in Portugal without actually traveling there and it's a home away from home from the moment you walk in.Everyone ordered different entrées and each dish offered a unique, top-quality taste. If you're looking for an authentic Portuguese spot in the Hudson County area, Pic-Nic is your go-to!Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian option available on the menu.Parking: About 11 or 12 parking spaces and street parking is very difficult given the area.Kid-friendliness: While there is no kids menu, there are few options available for children.Wheelchair accessibility: Whether parked in the lot or on the street, you can easily access the lot, entrance and seating area with a wheelchair.“
“What a great little spot food was yummy we had the clams in the garlic sauce to start which was nicely cooked. I then had the grilled swordfish which was juicy and yummy. Very chill environment with a pleasant and accommodating staff. Read online the ownership changed recently and wish them the best of luck the only downside was parking but one of the joys of Kearny unfortunately.“
“My first time here, even though I have passed by it many times before. I was looking for a place where I can order a salad at a reasonable price. Boy! This place is the place to go for the best salad in town so far. Delicious, good portion, and the best price. can’t wait to come back again and try other things on their menu. They look amazing and delicious.“
“Today I ordered food for Lunch, super delicious.I recommend the broth, the corviches and the breaded chicken, it's super delicious, the house mayonnaise and spicy sauce is delicious and the portions are very large... it's totally worth it, it takes you back to our country completely.I always order from my Ubereats account and they send me little notes, this time my husband asked for it and he didn't feel that love haha“
“I never have a bad experience here. The food is fantastic, I am a seafood gal. The staff is fun, friendly and accommodating, within reason. I have a funny tummy but their extensive menu is always a feast for my eyes. My favorite dish is the whole snapper, simply delicious!“
“For the working guy, or anyone else for that matter, this is a terrific place where you can grab a plate, serve yourself from a variety buffet and be eating lunch in two minutes! Everything is always fresh and delicious, from cold salads to hot meat, fish, or chicken, with plenty of side veggies to pick from.. Don't miss the corner luncheon GEM!“
“Cozy restaurant, with ample parking, the team ready to serve and continues to provide attention and kindness throughout, delicious dishes, I received a suggestion from Waiter Pedro, who I thank again. I recommend it for any type of event. “

“Just visited Gourmet Express Market for the first time to order empanadas for a party. The owners are so nice and helpful. They even gave me an empanada to try and I can see why the reviews are so good. The empanada was delicious. Can’t wait to serve the rest to my family and friends tonight!!!“
“The older woman at the front counter (I forgot her name) extremely kind and helpful. There was a big lunch rush and she was apologizing for the long wait. She made all my food fresh and it was absolutely delicious. I had the beef and potato, chicken chipotle, and the apple crisp empanada and they were all fantastic. High recommend this place for any empanada lovers !“
“Always great food. Staff shows all effort, especially if Spanish is not your strength. The bread is amazing. Calamari were hot and fresh, and the sauce is better than at most restaurants. Vegetables are cooked well. Shish kebabs of shrimp, pork, chorizo and steak is big and tasty. The sangria is very good, red or white.“
“Stopped by for lunch today and was blown away. Aside from over a dozen fried empanadas to choose from, they had five baked varieties on display. Inside is seating for 20, a soda fountain and a small drink fridge with about 10 options. Empanada are $6 but double the size you'll find elsewhere. I got the chicharrones de cerdo bowl. Served piping hot and fresh, the pork wasn't hard but had great flavor and chew. The sauteed red onions were a nice touch on top of a bed of fluffy white rice and iconic black beans. The squeeze of lime over everything married all the flavors together giving it that zesty acidity. $15.98 and well worth it, could only finish half.It took less than 10 minutes to prepare.Parking: Better off in the back or on a side street“
“Located right off McCarter Highway in Newark right by South Street. This Manny's is way different than the others I have visited. A big platter is still $8 and empandas are still $2. I ordered stewed chicken with rice & black beans. Chicken was juicy & falling off the bone, rice was cooked well, not over cooked as were the beans. I ate this food for 3 days as the portion size is huge. I will be back...“
“Came here for a repast lunch. We ordered from the regular menu. The food is good and they obviously have a happening bar vibe in the evenings. Prices are reasonable and service was good considering we were at least 20 people. There were some hits and misses on some of the dishes but overall a good experience.“
“As a patron of the Tenafly location, I wanted to try the Montclair locale. Parking isn't great around there but we managed. The cocktails were good. There was a grilled octopus plate served with a salad as an appetizer and it was delicious! Most of the entrees were seasoned okay but nothing stood out. One of our 5 dishes came out wrong but corrected within 5 minutes. The original dish was meant for another table and we got the correct plate quickly. Noise level was normal for a Friday night. Very nice ambiance - decor wise. Would return.“
“Sangria is very good, food was good and the atmosphere is dated and because of that I feel the prices are a little high, but good overall!Parking: Parking is not bad but the area is not great, but I have never had any problems in the many years of coming here.“
“Nice and inviting locale. Nice and attentive host, the owner makes the experience feels homie. The food is superior, the Cuban coffee real. Definitely a regular place to go and take loved ones and guests. 6 stars. Viva Cuba, Viva Latin America!“
“Great space and courteous service. Food and drinks were delicious. We had 1 charcuterie (olives) and 4 tapas. (Artichokes, lamb chops, chorizo and squid ink paella) Plenty of food for just the two of us. My only advice would be to ask for plates to come one at a time. We felt a little rushed. Our son is there today ( just a day after we were there) ... we suggested he ask for more relaxed service. We shall see ...“
“The most delicious and exquisite food I ever try of this kind : especially served with with love and care. How Sweet are the waiters. Always want to make sure you’re enjoying your favorite food. Depend of the day : but you always can find a good spot.Kid-friendliness: All are welcome, for sure they will have fun with the waitress!!Wheelchair accessibility: It’s easy to get in since the low level of the sidewalk and the restaurant entrance too!!“
“Amazing whole in the wall spot. I'm puertorican, and it's hard to find a good boricua place in NJ. This place is great. The food is great, and the service is outstanding. They treat their customers like family, and the prices are good. I definitely recommend this spot!“
“We really love this restaurant! Every visit feels special. The food is delicious with lots of great choices. The staff (or owner) are attentive, total pros. We left feeling like we had just had the best meal, best dining experience. Additionally, the space is very comfortable decorated with unique photos from Spain.“
