“Went with a group of 8. The service was great! Our waiter made suggestions that we took them up on and they were absolutely perfect! as a table we shared the mixed app dips with the pink sultan. This was some of the very best muhammara I've ever had. We also split a few lamhacun which were also super yummy. For our meals, we had various different plates which all were big hits. The service was great and we were warmly welcomed by the staff with prompt service. I can't wait to go back.“
“Great addition to "nicer" Turkish restaurants around NYC --for date nights. The atmosphere, food, and staff were all wonderful. Even though we had reservations, the place was not overly packed on a Friday night, which I appreciate. There is also seating available at the bar. We got two delicious cocktails and manti (delicious), stuffed wine leaves with cherry sauce (delicious), icli kofte (delicious), and lokum kebab (which were good too, but nothing crazy). I would definitely go back and recommend this place to friends.“
“What a wonderful family-owned restaurant! The food is outstanding. We have been here many times and I must say, the stuffed grape leaves were truly exceptional last night. Our server, Hakkan (who is also the most gracious host and helps keep the floor running) made great suggestions for us and was attentive to all of our needs. The owner, Yasiye, is absolutely welcoming, kind and makes you feel as if you are a member of her family. Everything we ate was wonderful, including some selections from the specials menu. And on top of it all, the decor is lovely. There was even a large group there celebrating a birthday but the room never got too loud.Vegetarian options: The menu clearly shows which options are vegetarian and even several vegan.Wheelchair accessibility: None of us use a chair but there were no steps to enter the building.“
“An Excellent Turkish Restaurant in NYC !!!I was in New York City for a business trip last week and by searching for a Turkish place in Midtown I came across Akdeniz. I was met with true Turkish hospitality, everyone was very nice. I had the Iskender Kebab which tasted as if I was in Istanbul. It was very fresh and tasty. The babaghannous was nicely made you could taste the fresh roasted eggplant, as good as the best in Turkey. It was such a great experience that two days later I went back for lunch and had the Adana Kebab which was one of the best Ive had in the States. I highly recommend Akdeniz!!!“
“DERVISH TURKISH FOOD in CEDAR GROVE NJ .THE RAIN WAS COMING DOWN the place was packed Wife and I got seated immediately. The food speaks VOLUMES pure AUTHENTIC TURKISH ORIGIN.will be visiting again to do official TIK TOK AND YOUTUBE VIDEO .GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICEYOU ROCK DERVISH“
“Leyla Restaurant takes Turkish cuisine to a whole new level with its exquisite dishes and authentic flavors. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the tantalizing aroma of traditional Turkish spices and herbs. Their lahmacun, with its thin, crispy crust and flavorful minced meat topping, is a true standout. And let's not forget about the yarma, a hearty and comforting dish that's perfect for satisfying hunger cravings. But the delights don't stop there – Leyla Restaurant offers a wide range of other mouthwatering dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more. Whether you're a fan of classic Turkish fare or looking to explore new flavors, Leyla Restaurant is a must-visit destination for food lovers everywhere.“
“Beautiful place, wonderful service, and great food. We loved the cold appetizer platter to share and many of the kebab dishes. The only thing I didn’t love was the gyro, which was over cooked and not the usual moist and tender texture. Please get the different types of baklava, they are incredible. Highly recommend overall.Kid-friendliness: Very sweet to the child in our party and brought her fries.“
“Doner Point Restaurant is an undisputed champion in the realm of culinary delights, setting a gold standard for doner enthusiasts around the globe. From the moment one steps into the establishment, the ambiance exudes warmth and authenticity, transporting you straight to the heart of culinary tradition. The attention to detail in the decor harmonizes perfectly with the aromatic symphony that fills the air, hinting at the gastronomic journey that awaits. The menu is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to excellence and authenticity. Each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with the freshest ingredients sourced from the finest suppliers. The doner kebab, the crown jewel of their menu, is nothing short of a revelation. The meat, succulent and bursting with flavors, is perfectly seasoned and cooked to a turn, accompanied by fresh, crispy vegetables and wrapped in a delectably light and airy bread that melts in your mouth. The harmony of textures and flavors is a culinary ballet, a testament to the skill and passion that goes into its preparation. But what truly sets Doner Point Restaurant apart is the palpable passion that the staff exhibits. Their knowledge of the menu, attentiveness to customer needs, and genuine warmth make every dining experience feel personal and cherished. The chefs' commitment to preserving the authenticity of their dishes, while also innovating and elevating them, is evident in every bite. Moreover, their sauces - oh, the sauces! - are a secret symphony of flavors, each a closely guarded secret recipe that complements the doner impeccably, adding layers of complexity and delight. Whether you're a fan of the tangy and spicy or the smooth and creamy, the sauces are designed to satisfy every palate. Doner Point Restaurant is not just a dining destination; it's a cultural immersion, a celebration of culinary artistry, and a beacon of gastronomic excellence. It's a place where every visit leaves you with a lingering taste of perfection and an eagerness to return. In a world where the dining experience can often be mundane, Doner Point stands out as a luminary, reminding us of the power of food to enchant and inspire.“
“Being a Turkish native, I have visited plenty of restaurants back home and in New York City, the food and service was wonderful, loved the decor as well. I tried their three course prix-fixe menu which was a great deal with dessert and Turkish tea.“
“Julie was sweet, knowledgeable, efficient, and a great professional server. The food was so yummy! We especially loved the spinach rolls, and babaganoush! The shishkabob and dumplings and cabbage rolls were all prepared very well and delicious!“
“Asalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu, I just don't like the food much, maybe it's because it is so different, probably is. The restaurant was nice and the service person was really nice and helpful. Probably is better if u are turkish. I'll give 4 stars.“
“A simple local Turkish bakery. We along with couple other customers were given delicious cookie sample without asking. It has the hospitality feel reminisced of the good old bakery from childhood. Very reasonable prices. Variety is limited to several types of baklava, cookies and some breads as it’s a small place.“
“The staff at Antioch Restaurant were attentive and explained the items that were brought out.- The offered a great wine selection and is BYOB.-Karişik meze starter : Fried Eggplant With Tomato Sauce, Hummus, Tatziki, Eggplant Salad, Babaganush, and Labne were absolutely delicious-Every dish was flavorful and highlighted Mediterranean spices. My favorites were the Lamb Adana, grilled meatballs and balloon bread paired with the Karişik meze tabaği.-I also thoroughly enjoyed the Sutlac (rice pudding) and kazandibi (milk pudding). This was my first time ever trying it.-This is a great place to visit if looking for authentic Mediterranean/Turkish cuisineVegetarian options: Great selection of plant based items such as falafel, eggplant stew, lentil dishes, an array of salad options, pasta and pizza.Parking: There is metered parking throughout the block of the restaurant“
“I just finished dining here for the 2nd time and my experience was amazing.I had The Lamb Shish & Chicken Adana combination platter, the meats were well done and the flavor was on point. Our waiter Salih suggested we try the Turkish Coffee and it did not disappoint, he made our experience 100% better.“
“Great little place. Food is all homemade and really good. World class Baba ghanoush and their lentil soup, as the kids would say, really hits! This place only has 9 tables and 3 of them are only for 2 people so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties unless you let them know ahead of time. The Baklava is also a stand-out. You definitely have to try this place if you are in the neighborhood!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access“
“Classic balkan dishes served here. As a fellow Balkan their Cevapi were great! I also had the pepper salad on the side since I’ve always enjoyed eating that growing up. It’s always nice finding traditional food when I’m away from home. Got my own coworkers hooked on Bosnian food! They rated the Cevapi a 10/10“
“Wish I had tried this place sooner. The food was amazing, friendly staff, the place is clean. We stopped in for lunch and got the lunch special. The Doner kebab was amazing. Came with a soup I picked the chicken orzo, so good. Definitely coming back.“
“We visited last night after googling places nearby. Food not only looked good, it tasted SO good. Big portions- we couldn't finish it all! The homemade bread was incredible. Staff nice and friendly. Would come back if we visit NY again! “
“Nusret NY offers an unforgettable dining experience, highlighted by impeccable service and a diverse menu. The Wagyu steak was cooked to perfection, and the attention to detail in presentation was impressive. However, the initial seating process was slightly disorganized, and the restroom situation could be improved. Despite these minor issues, the culinary journey and ambiance make it worth every penny“
“Very impressed with the food and exceptional service. The food here made me feel like I was in Turkey. Notable attention to detail, flavor and seasoning. Portion size also surpassed expectations. Highly recommend if you’re in the area looking for genuine Mediterranean cuisine.“
“I came here for a friend's birthday and the servers did a great job of helping us celebrate, which was really nice! The Doner Kebab "Turkish Gyro" was a little bit dry, but the baklava was delicious and it was a good experience overall.“
“Definitely recommend it! Food is really good. Kelle-paca soup and oh the LIVER! You’re not going to regret it. The atmosphere is really nice and friendly. Ali Bey is so kind and has a funny sense of humor. :) Don’t think twice, just come here. <3“
“Amazing gyros some of the best in the area always get them both the chicken and lamb, fresh and extremely tasty! Also very honest people working here usually the same guy always a $20 bill fell out of my pocket he found it came outside almost a block down to hand it back to me! Another reason I’ll always go/come here!“
“Absolutely outstanding! I recently visited Pidde Lahmajun and was blown away by both the flavor and service. Tunç and the entire team truly know how to make a customer feel special. Every bite of the Lahmajun was a delightful journey of taste, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was welcoming, and the staff, especially Tunç and his friends, were incredibly attentive and friendly. It's rare to find a place that excels in both food quality and customer service, but Pidde Lahmajun does just that. A solid 10/10 experience. Highly recommend!“
“Mr. Hüseyin, the owner of the restaurant, his wife and all the staff are wonderfully friendly, warm-blooded, smiling and helpful people. Anyone who wants to get delicious food in a good environment with quality service should stop by here. Although the prices are a bit high, the service compensates for it.“
“We held my wife’s baby shower at this restaurant, and we have ordered from here on multiple occasions. First, the food is phenomenal. From the chicken kebab to the falafel, all of the food is fresh, and seasoned and cooked to perfection.Nora and her team essentially treat the entire restaurant, including patrons, as family. They welcome you with warmth and will work with you to do anything your heart desires, within reason. You will feel so close to Nora from the start that you will likely give her a hug before you leave. The baby shower was a complete success- the restaurant is beautiful without being too much of a spectacle- and even has a tuned piano, which allowed us to have live background music for the event. My wife had a wonderful day, and it was made possible by Nora and all of the great staff at The Bosphorus!Dietary restrictions: Vegan and GF friendlyKid-friendliness: We had 5 kids at the event so they made them chicken fingers and fries to be safe!Wheelchair accessibility: First floor, double door- we had someone in a wide wheelchair. They even walked with the person in the wheelchair holding an umbrella for her!“
“We were here for restaurant week and decided to order from that menu. The food was excellent. Service was impeccable. Everyone was very attentive. Very much appreciated our server's recommendations for wine. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in midtown.“
“Exceptionally good beef Doner in the typical style found in Istanbul or Berlin. Tastes just like the veal hind leg meat once only sourced in genuine venues such as Yatagan of Macdougal Street.Highly recommended when one experiences that hankering for traditional doner. Only downside is that in 2024 they charge $13 USD for a wrap or gyro less than 1/3rd the size of Yatagan's $2.75 serving. At least you can have sutlac (rice pudding) for $6 instead of the $8 most other places charge these days...“
“It was sooooo good I can’t believe cliffside has been without an Albanian spot for this long! We needed it and it’s actually amazing 10/10 the fli and qebab are to die for! Definitely come try this authentic restaurant it tastes exactly like real albanian food. I will be back“
“We had our baby's first birthday party / Korean dohljanchi at Mado and it could not have been more perfect. Aret and everyone at the restaurant were so wonderful to work with. They were happy to work with my requests and made party planning so easy. The space was the perfect size with ample parking for our guests. The food was amazing and everyone raved about the pillowy bread, dips, and entrees. Highly recommend it whether it's for a family meal or event. (Photos by Lisi Halabi Photography)“
“I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Happy Vegan's catering service during the grand opening of my business, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. As someone who has sampled nearly everything on their menu and loved each dish, I knew I was in for a treat. The catering team at Happy Vegan exceeded all expectations, delivering a spread that left everyone in attendance smiling from ear to ear. Every bite was bursting with flavor and made with evident care and attention to detail. It was clear that they were committed to ensuring that every guest had a delightful culinary experience.Happy Vegan's dedication to spreading happiness through their food shone brightly during my event. From the moment the first dish was served until the last guest left, the atmosphere was filled with joy and satisfaction. It's no wonder they're called Happy Vegan - their ability to bring smiles to people's faces through their delicious offerings is truly remarkable. I wholeheartedly recommend Happy Vegan not only for dining in but also for catering services. “I had a meal first time from Hakki Baba and I think I’ll be a regular. The food is authentic. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. I only had a quick glance at other dishes. I want to try them all. Great experience.Parking: In front of the restaurant.“
“The place inside has a great ambiance, very classy with turkish vibrant decor. Ordered lamb shish kebab, tasted well, paired well with the Jalepeno and the white sauce, but tiny bit dry. The red lentil soup was smooth, wish though had a bit of spice, bit on the safe, bland side. The tiramisu was so great, ordered two more to go, tasted deliciously fresh!?Overall, bit small portion of entrées for the price. However, did not disappoint ? If ever in the area, would definitely come again! ?“
“This establishment left a very positive impression on me during my initial visit. The lively atmosphere and decor create an immersive experience reminiscent of Istanbul. The service provided was exceptional. Although I did not obtain the name of our server, I believe she may have been the owner. She consistently ensured that all our needs were promptly met.We commenced our meal with the delectable spicy hummus, accompanied by their exceptional bread. I also highly recommend the red lentil soup. For my main course, I savored the flavors of the mixed grill.I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the city. You will not be disappointed.“
“We arrived at this restaurant for dinner. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff were extremely nice and we had a great feeling. The meal was tasty. We loved this place a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Highly recommended.“
“Has an amazing Turkish breakfast with lots of variety. The breads were fresh from the oven. The service was also wonderful as they were very kind and helped us with whatever we needed. Would 10/10 come againDietary restrictions: Has halal options“
“I can say that it is the best pita and lahmacun I have ever eaten in America. Lahmacun is very thin and as oily as it should be. The kashar pita with kusbasi is also very thin and delicious. If you care about the taste of your mouth, you should definitely come to Kral Pide."I can say that the best pita and lahmacun I've ever had in America. The lahmacun is very thin and just the right amount of fat in the meat. The meat and cheese pita with thinly sliced meat is also very delicious. If you care about the taste, you should definitely visit Kral Pide."“
“Great food and experience ! Wide variety of fresh vegetables, rotisserie chicken, sandwiches, soups and more. Excellent quality. The owner was engaging and helpful in navigating the menu. Hope you stop in. Enjoy! The Reuben and corn chowder were perfect after a full day of travel.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Galata Restaurant in Paterson, NJ, and I must say, it was an exquisite culinary journey. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that immediately set the stage for a delightful evening. The menu boasted a diverse selection of authentic Turkish dishes, each bursting with flavor and prepared with meticulous attention to detail. From the tender kebabs to the savory mezes, every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to delivering an exceptional dining experience.Despite the busy evening rush, our server, Enrah, went above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. Their professionalism and efficiency were truly commendable, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.I highly recommend Galata Restaurant to anyone looking to indulge in the rich flavors of Turkish cuisine. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado or a curious newcomer, you're sure to be impressed by the culinary delights and impeccable service offered at this hidden gem in Paterson, NJ. Five stars all around!“
“It was a really sweet time, they were a little rude to my family in the beginning so I didn't appreciate that but as the night progressed they changed their tune. Food was delicious, music was awesome. Overall nice but I wouldn't go back.“
“Cozy, warm, and inviting atmosphere. I came here from Long Island to meet with someone special who I hadn't seen in months, and it was the perfect place for us to catch up and talk and laugh together over a cup of Turkish coffee (with a complimentary Turkish delight in the side). The woman who served us was so sweet and welcoming. If I lived closer I'd come here all the time!“
“The place I'd well lit, comfortable, and elegant without being ostentatious. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is fabulous! The phyllo scrolls stuffed with feta were divine and we could eat them forever. I had the lamb Adana and it was delicious! So flavorful. My friends has the falafel and the manti Turkish ravioli. Both were good but the manti was a new experience for us all. The mint flavor is strong in the yogurt sauce which we all loved. The texture and flavor of the ravioli in combination with the sauce makes you want to savor it and gobble it up all at once. Unfortunately, two of us were on medications that affect our appetites so we may have looked like we weren't enjoying ourselves as much as we actually were and this appeared to cause concern. They really want you to enjoy what you're eating and it's wonderful they take pride in what they do. What we didn't eat there, we gladly took with us! I'd you're looking for a reasonably priced delicious place to eat in that area, come here! It's wonderful!“
“Best Mediterranean food experience, such a delicious food really like the octopus and salmon everything so tasty and fresh. Like the service waiters are so friendly and professional. Highly recommend for who is looking unforgettable food experience.“
“Came from Texas by someone’s recommendation. I must say glad I did! We order lahmacun, veggie pide and salad. Everything was so delicious and service was great and quick. Music also so nice and pleasant. They even send us complementary dessert on house. I give two thumbs up with a smile on my face. Definitely great place to recommend??“
“this chicken donair was a late night hero.amazing taste from the freshly carved chicken off the spit, to the veggies and sauces it was paired with. the bread being sort of sandwich style made it hard to eat, but it all got in my mouth by the end ?“
“You have great delicious food, you are healthy, welcoming with a smile, service is fast, there is no waiting time, the food comes immediately, you are very kind, the taste of the lahmacun is delicious, I am pleased to come constantly ten stars.Excellent food , all stuff is respect and a very clean place . Highly recommended“
“Lokal was delicious! We came because we had a gift card but now we will definitely be back. Service was amazing, staff was friendly, family / friendly but up beat vibes. Music was fun too. Great spot on upper west, near the museum of national history.“
“This is my second time eating here. First one was long time ago (I don’t live around) for Ramadan dinner. This time was for lunch. They have good soups and good pide. I had kelle paca (lamb head meat in a broth) and kusbasili pide. Both were delicious. My sons had red lentil soup and pastrami pide, they loved it. Owner and workers are very friendly and always pay attention to the table. This place is far to my home but if I pass by again definitely would stop either for eat-in or takeout.“
“Big Turkish bakery with many varieties of breads and cookies. I’ve tried many of their baked goods all very fresh. Went again today and quality is consistent. I especially like their Sokar smit, it’s baked throughout the day chances are you’ll get fresh off the oven. Parking is tight so be careful as some people are careless back out of it.“
“Today my husband chose this place to celebrate his birthday, which is quite close to home and I already knew that it had a beautiful view. What I not imagined was that it had such delicious food, but the food is not the best, Didi's service The young woman who attended us was everything, I mean 100% recommended, there are people who come with their heart and make you feel special.“
