“GERMAN DONER KEBAB - AN ENLIGHTENMENT If you're from Berlin, it feels like there's a kebab store on every other corner. So I can recognize and judge a kebab when I see it. Even just leaving Berlin and Brandenburg, the kebab experience changes within Germany. The further you get away from Berlin, the worse the kebabs get. Some time ago in New York, I discovered one or two places trying to make a kebab. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find a proper kebab in New York, despite the name kebab. What was being sold was called a kebab, but had very little to do with a kebab and tasted even less like a kebab. All the more enlightenment then... the recommendation of a friend living in Brooklyn. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. And then the first kebab there since 2018 here in New York. I can't even describe how happy I was. It looked like a kebab, it tasted like a kebab and came pretty close to a kebab from Berlin. Really well made. Incl. tax 12.51 dollars is a bit steep, but still good value for New York. The portion was good and filling. Everything is really fresh and well seasoned. The bread was just as it should be, thin and crispy. This was pretty much the best kebab I've had in a very, very long time (with the exception of one visit to Berlin). I will definitely go back there again. GERMAN DONER KEBAB - EINE ERLEUCHTUNG Wenn man aus Berlin kommt, hat man gefühlt an jeder zweiten Ecke einen Dönerladen. Ich kann also einen Döner erkennen und beurteilen, wenn ich ihn sehe. Allein schon Berlin und Brandenburg verlassend wird das mit dem Döner innerhalb von Deutschland anders. Je weiter man sich von Berlin entfernt, desto schlechter werden die Döner. In New York entdeckte ich schon vor einiger Zeit den einen oder anderen Anbieter mit dem Versuch, einen Döner zu machen. Bisher konnte ich leider in New York trotz Bezeichnung Döner keinen ordentlichen Döner entdecken. Das was da verkauft wurde, heißt zwar Döner, hatte mit Döner aber recht wenig zu tun und schmeckte noch viel weniger nach einem Döner. Um so mehr dann die Erleuchtung... die Empfehlung eines Freundes in Brooklyn lebend. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. Und dort dann der erste Döner seit 2018 hier in New York. Ich kann gar nicht beschreiben, wie sehr ich mich gefreut hatte. Es sah aus wie ein Döner, es schmeckte wie ein Döner und kam schon recht nah an einen Döner aus Berlin heran. Richtig gut gemacht. Incl. Tax 12,51 Dollar ist zwar sportlich, aber für New York wiederum preiswert. Die Portion ordentlich und sättigend. Wirklich alles frisch und gut gewürzt. Das Brot genau so wie es sein muss, dünn und knusprig. Also das war seit sehr sehr langer Zeit so ziemlich der beste Döner (mit Ausnahme einem Besuch in Berlin), den ich seit langer Zeit gegessen habe. Dahin kehre ich auf alle Fälle wieder zurück. -------------------------------------------------“

“This is the nicest quick serve I’ve ever eaten at. We tried the roast chicken and got it at the mild level of spiciness. They have 7 or 8 levels. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. For our sides, we got fried cassava that was wonderfully crispy and steamed vegetables that tasted of citrus and hints of spice. It was served on lovely plates at comfortable tables. “Located north of Radio city hall, there seems to be a new competitor coming up for Adel's famous halal. This place is run by Afghans and they are really warm and welcoming people to their food truck also the service is quick while the food is served hot and fresh.After reading some reviews here, I opted for a chicken chapli kebab platter. Chapli kebab is basically a ethnic Pashtun dish from the border region of Afghanistan-Pakistan. The minced chicken was good while adding the right amount of spices to give a succulent taste, for the first time, I had cumin rice and it tasted good and was a welcome change from the regular saffron rice available elsewhere. These people provided fries alongside salad and topped it with white sauce which had the right amount of thickness while their mint sauce was a welcome addition to this. I don't usually go for the spicy sauce as I'm not a big fan of it.Overall it's a great experience to try something for the first time apart from halal guys and adel's. The big advantage of the food is that it lacks food coloring like adel's and whatever prepared is done in the right way while also the wait time is very less compared to adel's and halal guys.“

“We have had our private event at this lovely restaurant. we used the main dining room area for a party of 46 of us. The menu was excellent with a great variety of meats and chickens and seafood, along with some vegetarian items. The staff has made us very comfortable and brought each cocktail and meal on time. “Came here on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday dinner. We had 14 people. The food was excellent as were the drinks. Best of all was the service experience. “There’s not a whole lot that’s wrong with Farook’s tbh. I’ll pick him over Halal Guys or Adele any day of the week, given the price and wait time.However, I’m personally a fan of Santa Halal which is the cart next to Farook’s.But, that’s a personal preference. Farook is pretty great too.“

The manager greeted at the ordering station and didnt overwhelm me to order my food as this was the first time being there. The chicken was well seasoned and spiced, the chick peas were tender and savory, and the rice was such a great compliment to the protein. Now Ali Baba is my favorite place. Just had a lunch around 12:00 pm today , a little bit early, but when I left, the restaurant was full of customers!Suberb lunch special ($20), variety of choices! Their main menu is endless, I have to try everything! “Food is really good but I waited nearly 20 minutes for my food. The burgers are great. Staff is friendly. They’re not wrong when they say you should get a double. I had two singles. The regular mash is good and the spicy mash is unique. The honey definitely makes it taste different than other burgers. “Great little place. Food is all homemade and really good. World class Baba ghanoush and their lentil soup, as the kids would say, really hits! This place only has 9 tables and 3 of them are only for 2 people so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties unless you let them know ahead of time. The Baklava is also a stand-out. “I visited De Tandoori Knight on a Saturday 4/6/24. I was dining alone. The customer service was excellent. The restaurant was small but very clean and organized. The prices were excellent and the portions were great. I ordered Chicken Korma with Basmati rice, regular Naan bread and a Mango Lassi. The chicken was very tender, the sauce was creamy, delicious and not spicy. The Naan was good. I loved the Lassi. I had leftovers. I will definitely be returning. I am Puerto Rican and grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Growing up here there were no Indian restaurants. So happy to see more Indian restaurants now. I've been eating Indian food for about 20 years. To my Latinos try Indian food you might just love it. Not all dishes are Spicy. Visit this restaurant you may just love it like I did.“

The white sauce is a must. This was probably one of my favorite things I ate on my trip. You get your food really fast too. “I had the opportunity to try Bosnian food or in other words balkan food. Let me tell the food was freaking amazing!!! The owner was so nice and absolutely awesome to talk to. The vibe you get from him is like we are family. First, food choice to come out was the most fluffy burek slices ranging from cheese, spinach and even meat version. I truly enjoyed the meat slice so much I even licked my fingers clean. Second food selection that came out was the chevapi and man when I saw the meat was so juicy and tender it literally brings a smile to my face while making my mouth water. Make sure to rip a piece of the bread grab a piece of the meat and grab some onions you’ll thank me later. The chevapi is so flavorful that will drive your taste paletes into overtime!!! Third food selection the owner personally recommended to us was the two month old veal slow cooked to perfection. Literally you pierce your fork into it the meat just falls apart. First bite the flavor of the veal will take you to nirvana. Try this if you try the veal, take a piece of the bread from the chevapi and dip it into the bone marrow. Went to pick up and it was ready on time. They pack every 10 in a neat box. Fresh bread was just coming out of the oven and I had to try. The lahamacun is thin and made fresh, the seasoning was perfect. One of the best I tasted in NJ. The bread was fresh, soft and delicious also. Definitely going back to try the pides and pizzas. “I happen to wander in to Luv Bites on a Saturday morning looking for a brunch place. It turned out to be a nice place with a fusion. We were immediately greeted by the friendly owner. The place had a cozy ambiance.They had a pretty cool menu with unique names and a variety to chose from. I ordered their Jalapeños popped Stuffed omelette. It was flavorful, had all the right spices and delicious. My friend ordered the waffle with fruits and she loved the crust and the toppings!By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit. There was a line when I entered; the people in front of me were taking a while to decide and order, but the cashier was patient and helpful with them. He was also very friendly when helping me with pickup, and asked me if I needed any additional sauces. The burger itself did not disappoint. I got the Angus burger.
