“I've included 5 stars for this place because this bread has been a staple in my life. Also, the problem may be only for me and a select few. Has anyone else noticed a difference in the taste of the bread. I'm not sure if it's the flour or the seeds but to us, the bread has a bitter after taste, almost like the taste of drinking a diet soda compared to regular. My wife an I have actually gotten headaches after eating it. I've called the bakery and inquired about it but the guy on the phone said everything is the same. I was wondering if maybe their suppliers have changed their sources on where they are buying the flour or the seeds. I even went as far as buying similar bread from 2 other reputable bakeries and found no problems, only the taste of fresh bread. I hope the Fragale family is reading this, so they can do their diligence finding out what's different.“
“Like a step back in time. Old world recipes like your grandmother used to bake! Excellent rye bread, danishes and poppyseed strudel. My family has been shopping here for generations. In fact, my grandmother lived on Jewel Street and did shop here when she wasn't in her own kitchen baking. She really liked the crumbcake!“
“Family owned that churn out the best pastries I can find. Fresh bread daily with all other sorts of cakes and goodies. Every time I come here I'm never disappointed. It's just finding a place like this where I live now being the bigger challenge. Been coming here with the family for the better part of a decade. It's Polish run. Right next to Piast (polish meat store) for your other needs. Like any bakery.. hours are a bit off and closed on Monday but well worth the hassle.“
“Coming from a polish- American, it's nice to have authentic polish groceries and deli meat so close to home. I love being able to pick up your favorite soda or polish snack without having to buy the plane ticket to Poland The deli meat and kielbasa are super fresh with high quality ingredients and if I'm feeling super lazy, the hot food section has an amazing variety of dinners with that fresh home cooked meal vibe. Also super affordable“
“I was coming back from a Doctor’s appointment and was craving fresh bread so I Googled Italian bread bakery in the area and came across Venice Bakery short story I’m so so glad I did wow you walk in and the smell of sweetness Lord then the selections just yummy overload from cookies to cakes to cannolis to rolls bread OMG that day I came in there with my grandson and we just couldn’t make up our minds but we picked up a pastry filled with spinach and feta, 2 small piece of cake chocolate cake and mousse, red velvet cake and cream cheese, sesame bread , Baguette bread, 2 large chocolate chip m&m cookies !! All just melted in our mouths simply delicious!! So much so we been back 3 days back to back! I’ll drive there regardless the distance for me… highly recommend it“
