“This was my first time eating at this Route 22 West restaurant that was formally Kirsten’s. The interior looked very similar with the traditional and Neapolitan pizza oven from the former proprietor. The interior was well lit upon our arrival at 5:45pm and then the lights dimmed around 7:15pm. There is amble seating and the place filled up by 6:30pm. Their menu is rather large which may be why the call themselves Galasso (translates in English to galaxy). Note, it is a BYOB restaurant. Our order included Calamari Alla Arrabbiata - fresh calamari prepared in a Fra Diavolo sauce served over linguine ($23.95), two salmon specials ($28.95 each), and Linguine Alla Pescatora - middle neck clams, P.E.I. mussels, sea scallops & jumbo shrimp sautéed w/garlic in a pomodoro sauce or choice of arrabbiata sauce served over linguini ($30.95). What I Liked: - Our waitress was relatively new and made up for her learning curve with a great personality - The homemade, small bread loaves were very good. - All meals come with a complimentary house salad which was basic but sufficient - The salmon was considered excellent. It was made with artichoke hearts, capers, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. The piece was larger than you usually get when dining out. - The calamari in the Calamari Alla Arrabbiata were in their natural state and not breaded which makes their texture stand on its own. They passed the test and worked well with the Fra Diavolo sauce. - The Linguine Alla Pescatora was a hearty dish. There were four clams, four mussels, four shrimp and four sea scallops. The linguine was cooked perfectly. The shrimp were firm but tender and the scallops were a respectable size. - Although full, the restaurant was not noisy What I Did Not Like: - For the Linguine Alla Pescatora, I asked for the arrabbiata sauce and was served the garlic in a pomodoro sauce instead - The shells of the mussels in the Linguine Alla Pescatora were very large but the actual mussels were very small. Basically, all show and no substance. The clams themselves were also smaller than what I would have expected for a middle neck clam. Again, the shells were large. The sea scallops had an ammonia after taste which means they were old. - The tables have a limited surface area so it is very tight when the food arrives After the meal, I let our server know about the scallops. She did speak with the kitchen and said they apologized and threw out their scallops as a precaution. They also took the full price of the meal off the bill which was not expected and an over-the-top gesture of how they do business. This speaks in volumes about why you should support their restaurant. Not many places would do what they did. You usually get “a sorry” or a free piece of stale cake. My Italian Scallion culinary rating is 7.3/10 cloves of garlic. My overall restaurant rating is 8.2/10. Upon leaving, I spoke with the Pizza Boss about his pizza and will definitely be back for it in the near future. Anyone who puts their pizza in a 550-degree gas oven gets my attention.“
“Ordered six slices and a soda for $17. Not too bad. The have tables inside and outside, there’s more than pizza to order but it’s super clean. The BBQ chicken slice was good and the cheese slice was excellent. It was a perfect Jersey slice. The pepper and onion slice was just okay, the onion were really raw… which took away from their sweetness. All and all, it was worth it!“
“3/18/24 - My wife and I had lunch at Agave today. We've driven by often but this was our first visit. We parked out front but there appears to be parking around back too. My wife ordered the chicken tostada and I ordered the Impossible Burger. Both were fantastic. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We will be back.“
“Desserts are the bomb. Marsala is divine Salads are top notch, sometimes it depends on who is the kitchen , some nights it's just Good good, but some nights it's as of someone working magic back there.. on those nights the food is DIVINE!“
“I went to a dinner one night. I went to Rosemarie’s Cucina in Clinton NJ. The food was delicious and they buy the food every morning. It opens at 5:00 but you can go earlier if you want coffee and bake goods. You can still get baked goods if you go later. That’s why you should go to Rosemarie’s Cucina.“
“I visited Marinelli's for dinner with a friend this weekend and it was OH-SO-GOOD! I had the delectable Chicken Kristine and my friend ordered the Eggplant Tower and we shared. What an absolutely delicious dinner! The lemon blueberry cake we shared for dessert also did not disappoint. The next time I'm in the Flemington area I will definitely make a stop at Marinelli's. : )“
“Well, now we can no longer get "pizza to go" near us. Instead, if we want pizza, we drive 20 minutes (passing numerous other pizzarias) to get pizza here. Luckily, they have a few tables for those of us that live too far to take it to go. It is definitely the best pizza ever!!!“
“I'm thrilled to share our wonderful experience at Campania Pizza & Deli! Their calamari, veal, and pizza are clearly top-notch. It's always great to find a place that consistently delivers excellent Italian cuisine. Thanks for your hard work!!!“
“My kids have grown up on Virami’s. When they were little, Virami’s was the friendliest place to take them and the food was always amazing. Jersey pizza ? done right! And as they got older they still went to Virami’s on their own because it’s a community staple AND it’s that good. Virami’s is my go to when the family needs dinner & I can’t cook or need a break from making dinner ? I’ts always a hit in our house big time. Garlic knots, salad pizza and of course the classics. Something for everyone from the best pizza spot in the area. Hands. Down.We are so lucky to have Virami’s in our town & it is always delicious. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Owners and staff are always sweet. Small town vibes at the register. They will talk with you like a real person and will happily make your order the way you ask.Sandwiches and slices of pizza are always on point. You know how every place has their own style? Well, I like theirs. The ratios of dough, sauce, and cheese are how I like it.The bread on the sandwiches is always fresh and soft and tasty.Catering prices aren't outrageous, either.Oh, and they do their own deliveries for those averse to the outrageous markups for the door dash, etc. (I'm guessing local/close delivery only, but still. They get major points for that from me!)“
“Grandmas Pizza to go is the best! I bring it on road trips out of state when visiting friends in Central PA. Market case is brimming with a good variety go food by h the pound. Service is really good and Everything is freshly made in house.“
“Really like this place! Admittedly, Flemington isn’t really a destination for foodie’s, but there some real gems in this town, and Dolce def holds its own.The food is very good and I LOVE that it’s BYOB. The menu might seem a bit limited (for instance, they use the same ingredients - like veal cutlets - in a number of dishes, but prepare them in different presentations). I can understand that given rising food costs, thankfully the specials add diversity. Had some world-class grilled octopus over white beans and spinach, the flounder franchise was legit too - will def be back“
“What a nice place for lunch or dinnerRob and his staff are always friendly and politeThe pizza is great as well as the sandwichesToday our office staff got to enjoy a chicken parm meal with a fantastic saladWhenever we have an office meeting with staff this is our go to place. Thanks guys !!!“
“This is the best Italian restaurant in the area. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff is just so kind. Every time we come here we feel so welcomed and well taken care of. Truly love supporting this business and so glad we found it when we moved here!“
“I have ordered takeout from here twice and eaten here twice, and we are now considering this our favorite date night spot close to home. Each time, the food was far above my expectations regarding restaurants in Hunterdon County. You would think from the name of the place that it was simply the standard Italian fare, and you would be mistaken. There are Asian, Mediterranean, and American influences as well, making the selection very well rounded, and everything is prepared and presented with obvious care and attention to detail. The sauces are TO DIE FOR. The owner is a very warm gentleman who makes his rounds not only to greet customers but also to provide support to his staff. Don't miss out on this gem!“
“Pino is awesome Greets all his customers and knows them all that is so important and I'm sure all his customers appreciate his big smile when they enter the restaurant The food is fresh and well prepared Great location as well, don't forget BYOB Liquor store right next door which is extremely convenient Highly recommend this cozy restaurant“
“They are renovating when I was there but the food and the personalities of the servers made everything great. Bartenders Alex and Sabrina are awesome. They make great mixed drinks and are fun to talk with. They made the night extra special.Parking: Plenty o'parkingKid-friendliness: Plenty of kid friendly options on menu“
“Carlucci's Bistro has earned its way into my top rotation. We recently discovered this gem and have been back several times. You like pizza? Go now! The Fungi pizza is other worldly, provided you like mushrooms. Don't like shrooms? Any other pizza will make you happy. The eggplant rollatini - magic. Antipasto salad is solid. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. If you enjoy great food, great humans, and a great BYOB, then high-tail it to Carlucci's. Go now.“
“The gentleman at the counter knew the customers by name and vice versa. I ordered an x-large pie to go, grabbed a Coke and tried a slice on the ride home. WOW....this pizza is exceptional! Friendly staff. Clean and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back. If you haven't tried them, do yourself a favor. You wont be disappointed. If you like pizza, this place is for you. Wish I ordered two.“
“We have been meaing to try Ulivo for a while now and we're glad we finally paid them a visit. The food was amazing and so was the service. Great overall experience, we may even host a private event here. We can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.“
“Good Italian food in a great location. Service was just okay - but it could have been an off night. The menu has a good range of options - but not so many that you have to wonder how many of them are good. The was a live band, which was nice. Cocktails were good (not great) too.“
“If you want Italian pastries or custom cakes this is the place to go! Ordered a cannoli cake for my mom’s birthday and a tray of her favorite pastries - it was so delicious! Rose and her staff are always super friendly. Highly recommend.“
“Good Italian classics in a nice, new premise. Some things can use improvement: Volcano shrimp was tasty although the ratio of 7 shrimp to an extremely large bed of mashed potatoes was disappointing. The chicken parm dish comes with a side of penne vodka which I thought was nice although it was very light in color and tasted different than penne vodka dish also ordered. Finally there was a ring around the toilet bowl in the ladies room, making me ponder the cleanliness of the establishment as a whole? Also this is a BYOB!“
“Am amazing pizza place and so much more! Great daily specials! We like the Italian hoagie and their cheese steak. But they have many many other menu items! Great dinners, great salads, amazing appetizers too! Everyone will find something to eat here, even the kids. Pizza is darn good too!Vegetarian options: They will make anything you like!Kid-friendliness: Lots of menu items for the kids!Parking: It get busy at times, but there is always a place to park!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in easy out!Dietary restrictions: They will make it any way you please!“
“Love, love, love the food here. I'm a pizza snob and I haven't found a better pizza in the area. It doesn't stop there, though. The sandwiches are fabulous, namely the Buffalo chicken wrap and the appetizers have been great as well.“
“Great, great place. The pizza is phenomenal, my husband and I frequent at least once a week. Their Il forno calamari is so good. If you want a little change from regular fried calamari, you have have to try. Just a an all around great place to eat. We're so thrilled to have a new place in town so close by.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at The River Mill View, and I must say, it was an exquisite experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked through the door, the staff's professional service stood out. They greeted me warmly and attended to every need with genuine care and efficiency. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations made the dining experience even more enjoyable.Speaking of the menu, it truly impressed me. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted with fresh ingredients and expertly seasoned to perfection. Every bite was a delightful symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. From appetizers to desserts, the culinary experience at The River Mill View surpassed my expectations. And let's not forget about the breathtaking view. Sitting by the fireplace, overlooking the river, was a serene and enchanting experience. It added an extra layer of magic to an already wonderful meal. The ambiance, coupled with the cozy fireplace and beautiful table setting adorned with white linen tablecloths, created the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. In conclusion, The River Mill View exceeded all my expectations. The staff's professional service, superb menu featuring fresh ingredients seasoned to perfection, and the enchanting ambiance make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a culinary adventure coupled with a scenic retreat. I can't wait to return and indulge in their culinary delights once again.“
“trattoria uno....my favorite place, every time I go... I order seafood combo omg...I can't wait, I already want to come back from Miami to enjoy my pasta with seafood again...the cooks know exactly what They do...the owner Angelo is super friendly, the best thing of all is that he is Chivas de Guadalajara “
“Landed here by chance but it was our lucky day we did. The service and the food was phenomenal. Marianna was a sweetheart, and she attended to our needs very nicely. We had Muscles and two different pastas, and they were all out of this world! We live in North Jersey and I have not eaten such fresh and delicious food up there. Yes it’s a hole in the wall but you can go to a fancy restaurants that overcharges you but will not give you this kind of authentic flavors!Looking forward to coming back every time we come near here.“
“Very good place to grab a lunch or dinner! The owner works very fast, he was very professional and also the price was good. The food was delicious. Perfectly cooked. I live around the area and it's a perfect spot for a pickup and go meal on a small main street! They do have a tables for sitting inside of the place “
“I’ve probably gone here 100+ times in the last 5-10 years whenever I’m in the area. Every time I order the Chicken Parm Sandwich. Consistently on point. Loaded with Parm so big plus if you love cheese. The owner and service has always been extremely friendly and accommodating. My favorite takeout Italian in the area.“
“Not a bad pizza but nothing to write home about. 10 times better than Chimney Rock across the street. I moved to Flemington in 1984 and there was only one place to get a good pizza pie and now there's at least a half dozen places for great pies (though there are more than that in number of pizzerias). Sinatra ranks up there with one of my favorites. The cheese on our pie was a little off in colors which made it obvious that it was from two different lots, perhaps different manufacturers. Part of it was super yellow and the other was super white. Odd. I will continue to eat here but my all time favorite is still Taste of Naples mainly for their quality of cheese.“
“Amazing food!!!! Amazing staff!!!! My favorite it the pizza dough burgers and the cheese steaks.Just an FYI, when posting a review, please be sure to post food that is actually from the restaurant. Recently, The Drift posted.......all false “
“Got some pizza and mozzarella sticks to go. Special ordered a chicken Parm pizza with vodka sauce. Both pizzas were great! Also a nice place, it looks like, to sit down and eat. Liquor store right next door so that's good. I will order pizza from here again!“
“Hi Vanessa here. My wife and I tripped over this family run Italian restaurant business yesterday. O my gosh. We had a house salad to start and when it was delivered to our table you could see the quality and freshness of the ingredients. And after having a few bites it was just delicious. We also ordered 3 different slices of pizza. One buffalo. One cheese tortellini and one pepperoni. I have to say the food was some of the best we had. Waitress was right on top of her service. If you have not been here it's a must go to place.we asked for the owner come to our table . When she came to us we told her our experience was so so good. Her son delivered our pizza and he was very welcoming also. Thanks again to the staff at franks. Definitely be back. Vanessa and Christine boyer“
“This was the best burger I've had in a LOOONG TIME. Just look at the picture, it looks like the advertisement photos but REAL! If you're ever nearby this place and even a little Hungry, GO HERE! They have incredible pizza. A buffalo steak pizza, I never even heard of that 10/10 establishment. Would definitely eat here again.“
“My new favorite pizza place! Delicious pizza - and they also have VEGAN pizza, so everyone can enjoy it! By far the best place I've found so far. The pasta and garlic knots are excellent, too. Fast delivery and convenient for takeout, too.“
“That penne vodka cannot compareWithout it, I can no longer fareMy life is bare; a nightmareWithout its buttery essence.Alas, Lenny’s has changed my lifeOnce filled with such strife,Now I find that all is new…I hope that you have Lenny’s too.“
“Solid elevated Italian, in a charming house in historic Chester. We met friends who frequent Benito's and really enjoyed it. Despite the cold winter weather outside, it was warm and cozy, and festive for the holidays inside. Starter Asparagus Parmigiano - coming from California, we don't typically see asparagus in the winter, but it was delish. Main Course Cavatelli Calabrese for me! Ricotta pasta with sausage, broccoli rabe, cherry peppers in garlic and oil - hold the peppers Cavatelli with broccoli is my go-to pasta and reminds me of my Grandma. I must order it whenever it's on a menu. It sparks joy and floods me with happy memories. I asked for no peppers but my friend got it with peppers and loved it too. The guys tried a few of the veal dishes and licked their plates clean. Dessert We ended the night with classic, delicious cannoli, lemon cake, and espressos. This is a BYO restaurant so be sure to bring wine if you want any. The friendly staff will open and pour for you.“
“Stopped here on our way home from visiting NJ for a wedding. Left the hotel and drove down the street looking for a "mom and pop" looking pizza place when we spotted it. I must say I am super impressed! From the second we stepped foot inside, I knew it was going to be good. The food smelled and looked amazing! We decided to get a whole pizza, so we didn't order anything from the counter, but a ton of other customers did, and everything looked and smelled so good! The pizza was ready in what felt like 5 minutes. We initially were going to take it to go but decided to eat in and I'm glad we did. Got to talking with a couple of people there, it was nice. The environment is very chill. And the food was delicious! If we make another trip to NJ, we will 100% stop again! The entire shop was tidy and clean, especially the restrooms (and that's a major win, in my opinion). I give this place a 10/10!!!“
“Stopped for an early dinner after a nearby theater performance, and our daughter, who lives in the area, suggested we try something different. She had some recommendations for this establishment. It was early and plenty of seating was available. We were led through the inside to a back mostly inside area (the doors were open and the ceiling fans provided a comfortable setting). There is also a beautiful outdoor seating area which was an option. The menu is pretty extensive from pizza to sandwiches to salads and entrees. The four of us shared 2 large Caesar salads, two of us opted for special personal size pizzas (of which we both had plenty leftover to take home), one had shrimp scampi (she also had leftovers), and the other entree was a pasta dish. We all completed our meal with various flavors of gelato. The service was great (and the busboy continually filled our water glasses), prices were reasonable, and it was a lovely setting. We all enjoyed our meal and we would definitely make a return trip! Parking is on the street, and it's also a BYOB. Dress is casual.“
“The team at Anabellas is friendly, warm, and just as important, great cooks. Whether you're looking for a sandwich, a pasta dish, or pizza, this is the place to go. Robust menu with plenty of choices, and they are also very good at taking client's requests.Catering menu is also very good and priced right!“
“Best wings in the area. I always get the slammin hot and ask them to add some sauteed garlic to the sauce. It's a game changer. Great family restaurant and bar. I've had drinks with adults and had wonderful family meals with my toddlers. Great service and the prices are reasonable.“
“Nice, cozy spot, family restaurant with a nice bar. My daughter loved her ziti with meatball. My wife really enjoyed her chicken over pasta, and I was surprised by the quality of the prime rib king cut. The prime rib was fresh, tender, and juicy. It was a bit under seasoned, but it didn't matter at all. The quality of the meat was really impressive. There was no photo of dessert, but the apple crisp was warm and delicious.“
“We were passing through Chester and needed something quick to eat that wasn't from a coffee shop or Wendy's. Bella's sign caught my attention and there was a parking spot right out front, it was meant to be. We ordered a couple of slices and enjoyed them by the window with a soccer game on TV. It was a week before Christmas and they were busy working on catering orders it seemed. I'd stop here for a slice again. It tasted good, the seat was comfortable and the staff was friendly, that's all you could really ask for at a pizza place I think.“
“Chimney Rock Inn is a great place to grab dinner with the whole family. As tradition states, Friday is pizza night at my house, so we decided to give Chimney Rock a try. I am gluten-free, so my pizza options are limited, so I was excited to try Chimney Rock's gluten-free pizza. They did not disappoint! They were able to make their Maui pizza gluten-free for me, and now its my new favorite! Keep up the great work, and thanks for providing GF options!Dietary restrictions: Fantastic place if you have a gluten or wheat allergy. They have many options and their gluten-free pizza is fantastic!Parking: We went there around 5:30pm on a Friday and the parking lot was ~75% fullKid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. We went there around 5:30pm on a Friday, no wait time, and every table had kids.“
“I had the opportunity to visit Al Fresco's on a couple of occasions and found the food delicious. The Chicken Franchise was tender, flavorful, with the perfect amount of lemon. Cavatelli and Broccoli was amazing and could tell the cavatelli had the chance to finish cooking in the sauce. I'll be back and would recommend Al Fresco's to family and friends. BTW They have space for events.“
“The food is excellent! Jim Flyn makes the best drinks I've had since I moved into the area. Bonnie is a very attentive serer and the and the atmosphere resembles the town of Brunello. Roof and Marcy kept us entertained with the best song selections. Sonia has created a very special place to dine on a Friday night.“
“Got a pizza, panini and calamari to goThey were all great! Very good pepperoni on a solid pie. Depending on your preference, I may ask them to cook the pizza a little longer next time. The calamari was very good quality which was surprising for a pizzeria - and so was the sauce.“
“This place is amazing. My family always gets multiple orders of chicken alba and peppercorn chicken. The arugula salad dressing is too good. The continuity isn't always there, the orders are often different depending on the day so I always make sure to check the bag, but the atmosphere is fantastic and the service as well. one of the best places in the area.“
