“Tino's is great but they need to find a better way to stagger reservations so they don't make people wait an unreasonable amount of time (with a reservation), and so that diners don't feel rushed because they're taking up space and people who are waiting to die are on top of them. Food is fantastic, the octopus is a must order. The one tip I'll give is to make a reservation and call 1 hour prior to confirm, and maybe call again to 30mins out to let them know your ETA. “Sparta Taverna had always been great with their food and service! For this one time off, we made a huge office order and they forgot to submit my order therefore I had to make an individual order through grub hub. And because of the service fee and delivery fee I was charged at $30 for a salad. I've made a call to Sparta to let them know if they can throw in one small tzatziki sauce as a courtesy. They'd say "No" at first but when it arrived. Inside my lunch bag they gave me the sauce and a lollipop! So sweet! I wish for them to continue their business with great success!“

“Food is delicious here, always fresh and in good quantity, however prices have continued to go up since I first started going there and also with ordering takeout/delivery. Sometimes just ordering a Greek salad and a gyro, when all is said and done it's nearing $50. I know prices are up everywhere, but some things don't warrant such a jump in price. And definitely shouldn't stay at that price for the long term. Hoping prices will come down as food prices begin to improve.“

From the chicken kebab to the falafel, all of the food is fresh, and seasoned and cooked to perfection.Nora and her team essentially treat the entire restaurant, including patrons, as family. We hosted a family feast here, we had music, great food and great enviornment.The food is amazing, the atmosphere is great, the people are wonderful! Sandra is such a nice person, she waited on us at our family feast, she was so loving and caring and really made sure to cater to us and made us feel at home. “Gang of three had a wonderful lunch at Anassa Taverna a few weeks ago, so when a dear friend came to town this was the place to go, along with my guy. Turns out he's had several happy meals here, branzino his fave. So much for a surprise! I love the grotto-like entry leading to a lavish display of fresh veggies, so inviting. Window table makes great street viewing and the noise level was cheerful, like the friendly waitstaff. Good bread and excellent tahini started us, decent white wine and spicy Virgin Mary for me. The prix-fixe is a great option...slightly smaller portions of what I would have ordered anyway: Avgolemono soup was among the best I've had, full of rice, fresh herbs and perfectly balanced; ground lamb kebabs, delightfully garlicky and deeply lamb-y (not so easy to get nowadays), accompanied by yummy herbed fries, tsaziki and excellent salad; then two tiny but delicious baklava pillows. Branzino and chicken breast also graced the table, and a hugely aromatic raspberry sorbet. We schmoozed, and were left undisturbed - truly a blessing.“

“For a fast early Sunday dinner, I joined a friend at Souvlaki GR Midtown. At 5pm on a Sunday, the establishment only had a few occupied tables, so we received seating immediately. We decided to share the Lamb Shank ($30), Octopadi Stifado ($29), and 2x Chicken Skewers ($5.75 ea). Both the skewers and the Octopadi Stifado came served with pita. The lamb shank, described in the menu as "slow cooked lamb shank with orzo in tomato sauce", arrived just shy of fall-off-the-bone tender, bathed in a savory tomato sauce that soaked into the orzo. I used the pita to full effect in order to soak up every last drop of sauce. The Octopadi Stifado, an octopus stew w/caramelized onions in tomato sauce, had an even more savory tomato sauce, mixed with olive oil that carried the octopus flavor everywhere. Once again, the pita proved useful. The chicken skewers, with decent juice and char, proved irresistible. The pita arrived warm and fluffy. None of that dense brick nonsense that seems ubiquitous. Service proved fast. Dinner from seating to the check took 45 minutes.“

“This is a great little Cafe. I walked in, place was clean, decor was awesome, staff were smiling and friendly. I got the vegan gyro bowl, and it was really good. It was packed with gyro and rice, i actually got lunch and dinner out of it. Sometimes plant based food in general has a weird taste, however, Pita Bowl's was great. “What an amazing place! Friendly and nice location. Their cookies and Spanakopita are fresh and taste straight out of the oven. Soft, fresh and full of flavor! After becoming extremely sick and hospitalized early this year from visiting Zai’s Dessertery in Bergenfield and forcing myself to eat disgusting, stone hard, and sugar packed desserts, due to not being able to get my money back from the cashier, Athens Bakery has been a great find for sure. “Everything about this place is top notch! Came here for bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon in February. I ordered the strapatsada and my friend ordered the burger. We both loved our dishes, I rarely order a dish without meat but it was perfect. I’m also not a fan of home fries, but these were perfect- very crunchy. The service was great and we added the bottomless option. The champagne and sangria was top notch. It’s rare to find bottomless brunch with quality drinks such as these. We sat outside, there wasn’t any wait. The inside is very cozy and modern. The waitress was great- highly recommended brunch place. I look forward to returning.“

“Went here for an anniversary and had the best time! Everything was amazing! We had the Chef's Mezze Experience and it was definitely worth it because of the great food and variety of Greek dishes! We went for dinner on a warmer night in March and sat in their covered outdoor area. The ambiance made us feel like we were having dinner on a warm greek summer. They had olive trees and white tables which made it feel nice and bright. It requires at least 2 people to participate and it was definitely more than enough food to make the both of us full! We started with a greek salad, 5 spreads and some beets and olives. The pita was soft and warm and our favorite dip was the whipped feta with red peppers, but this experience allowed m to try things like a salted and cured roe dip which I surprisingly enjoyed. We then had multiple dishes consisting of fries, grilled octopus, different sausages, and hen. The grilled octopus and hen was perfectly cooked and our favorites. The drinks are also really good and I appreciate their large variety of greek wines along with multiple organic choices. The service here is also really amazing. They are helpful through the menu if you are not familiar with all of the dishes. They realized we were celebrating something provided us shots of ouzo on the house. A really nice, unexpected surprise. Absolutely coming back to try their brunch on a sunny day!“

“Lokal was an absolute delight! We'd had a long day (with three kids) at the museum and needed to have a break with good eats. Not only did Lokal provide that but it was all better than imagined. We had the stuffed red peppers (our favorite dish) it was so refreshing with the lemon yogurt. We had hummus which paired fantastic with their house bread. The kids got chicken tenders and pizza. They loved it and we loved sneaking bites. I had the avocado tomato salad with grilled salmon: wow! A delight! So fresh and filling! My husband had the lamb burger with feta cheese. He devoured it. “I ordered a very large delivery for an office luncheon. My coworkers are very difficult to please, and they all loved this food. The delivery driver was named Thanasis and he was the best. He called ahead of time and asked if we needed anything to keep the food warm. Then he set up all of the food for us and even gave us some tips on the best way to eat the food. Its Greek sign beckoned us into an experience reminiscent of the cozy taverns in Athens, where entering feels like stepping into a secret cave or basement. Celebrating Greece’s Independence Day and the Feast of the Annunciation on March 25th, we were delighted by the traditional dishes that paid homage to these significant events, much like the celebrations back home in Greece.The highlight of our meal was the cod with garlic spread (μπακαλιάρο σκορδαλιά), a signature dish for the day, embodying the essence of Greek tradition. Our feast also included crispy octopus, kalamarakia, French fries sprinkled with feta, shrimp saganaki, a refreshing Greek salad, authentic Greek coffee, portokalopita, and the sublime galaktoboureko. Each dish transported us to Greece with its authentic flavors, as if homemade.Accompanied by a “Savvatiano” crisp, cold white Greek wine, served in an ice bucket to maintain its chill, the dining experience was elevated. “I decided to come to Milo's based on a recommendation. It's weird for me to eat in midtown because I truly hate the location. The restaurant is huge and beautiful. A little overwhelming for my liking and very corporate. The service was great, there were at least 3 waiters attending to us at all times. One waiter brought us over to the fish section to choose the fish of our liking. I think it's a nice touch but very overpriced. We chose the scallops and they were delicious. We ordered the crab cake, octopus and oysters. Honestly, probably one of the best oysters I've had. The octopus and crab cake was also delicious. The only negative on the crab cake was that there were many shells left inside. We ordered a mezcal drink from their cocktail specials and that was not great at all. We are definitely mezcal drinkers and it just wasn't there. We switched our drinks for wine and that was MUCH better. I would definitely go back for wine and a oyster happy hour!“
