“Impressive small plates, charcuterie, and cocktail. Great views of the valley. Perfect spot to hang out with friends at happy hour. Price was not too high, but it’s easy to go overboard. Special note: the ONLY place in the NYC area where I have been served real Sicilian anchovies (they are NOT like American ones).“

“We absolutely love this place, from the food, to the cozy atmosphere, to the friendly staff and excellent service. It's perfect whether you're here on a date, or for a meal with family or friends. If you don't want a full sit-down meal, you can always find a convivial gathering around the happenin' bar. The menu consists of popular Italian and American favorites like chicken, veal, pastas, salads, steak, seafood, burgers/sandwiches, and a well-rounded selection of appetizers. Nothing trendy but all extremely solid options and consummately prepared. You're greeted with a plate of warm bread and black olives when you sit down. The house wines are quite good and a gracious pour. (A wine shop attached to the restaurant is run by the same people.) The steak is perfection - flawlessly seared to my requested medium rare, and seasoned just right. I've also really enjoyed the fish and chicken dishes here. The tilapia is so tender. Even the sides are outstanding - I couldn't believe how good the sauteed spinach in the chicken saltimbocca was! And the fries are amazing - piping hot and crispy, and perfectly seasoned as well. We've also had the seafood paella which is full of seafood but more of a cioppino with its tomato-based broth than a true paella which has a dry texture, but is tasty nonetheless. We'll be back often to eat our way through the rest of the menu, I'm sure. A happy hour menu is offered from 4-6p on Tue/Wed/Thu. As mentioned, they have a great bar, and the changing seasonal cocktail offerings are delightful. The staff are warm and wonderful, and we were made to feel welcomed each time. Mike the owner came up to introduce himself the very first time we came here. You can tell they take care to know their customers, and seem to have a loyal local clientele (one of whom recommended the Tavern to us). Our meal was perfectly coursed - never rushed nor too slow. I noticed our server discreetly checking on us several times to make sure we were done with our appetizers before the entrees were brought out in impeccable timing. A small table lamp illuminates the menu without harshing the romantic mellow. The unobtrusive noise level means you can actually have a conversation without shouting across the table. These are details, but the sum of these parts differentiates a good restaurant experience from a great one.“

“Food was GREAT and the service was absolutely stellar. Love the look of the place, great for date night or night out with friends. We had focaccia, calamari, Franny's house salad, chicken parm, chicken Marsala and flounder. All winners. Drinks outstanding. The olive oil cake was lovely but not like Maialino's which I love. I would definitely return, did not disappoint!“
“Great local spot. They don't serve food but they can order delivery for you from some spots they partner with nearby. Gooood whiskey selection. Great for try before you buy. Also nice rotating tab list and even some wine on tap.Parking: It's in a shopping center that doesn't get crazy busy.“

“The experience was great but the classic wines were not my favorite (I am used to CA wine). The desert wines were very good though! Loved the Pecan flavored one! It's tucked inside a cute local market that also has a zoo on the grounds.“

“Our resevvation was early so we enjoyed the ambience, music and impeccable service. We are recurring customers, The seafood was well prepared and mostly excellent. The Tuesday oyster special was awesome. Order 6 and get 6 is an amazing offer. The Western oysters were fresh and sweet. So tempting to order another another 6! The lobster bisque was delicious and had morsels of lobster in it. My crabcake did not have lump crab meat but still very full of crab with less fillers. The broiled octopus was superb and tender if just a tad over seasoned. Loved it and the accompnied potatoes were delicious. My husband's scallop dinner was theroughly enjoyed.“
