“Loved this restaurant!! The food was AMAZING, from the empanadas, to the mofongo, to the tres leches! We had a large table (9) and everyone absolutely loved their meal. The portions are big, which was great for the price. The ambiance was also great, as they played great music. They also put the birthday girl's picture on the menu he which I thought was such a nice touch. The service was as phenomenal, our waitress was patient and super sweet! I will definitely return soon. Restaurant is small, so I suggest making a reservation if it's more than 2 people.“
“Everything was amazing!!! If you get one thing, get the artesano ceviche. I would honestly do a tasting menu of all ceviches. I also got the chicha morada mocktail, classic ceviche, scallop tiradito, amuse bouche, palette cleanser, corn dessert, and passion fruit sorbet. Make sure to get the cancha!!! Soooooo good!“
“Incredible dinner here with really creative plates blending Japanese and Peruvian dishes & ingredients. I loved that each dish was unique and unlike anything I’ve had elsewhere, yet nothing was too out there and the flavors were familiar/comforting. Enjoyed the corn croquettes, the risotto with shrimp & uni and the pork katsu with pesto udon“
“he degustado los platos casi en todos los restaurantes peruanos de la zona y si de algo sirve mi opinión sincera es lo más sabroso que he probado desde hace mucho tiempo, sigan así y no cambien de cocinero(a) que es más del 50 % de todo su éxito. estuve este sábado pasado allí y salí muy satisfecho y contento“
“Excellent time at this quaint stylish restaurant. Not super familiar with Peruvian food but they had excellent flavors and enjoyed the overall experience. Thought the rice was a bit salty for my taste but each dish came out super aesthetic. As others have reviewed prior, the ceviche was a highlight and would definitely return for it. I would say that the service of the staff was all top notch and made our dinner really pleasant; just make sure to refill waters as I didn't get a refill until end of dining session upon request. Only about a dozen tables so make reservations. Well worth the effort if you're in the area“
“This is our favorite Peruvian restaurant in NYC. Portions are good, prices not as crazy expensive as a certain Peruvian restaurant in mid 70s in UES and most importantly, it’s delicious! Ceviche, lomo soltado, ají de gallina and arroz con mariscos are our favorites. Cocktails are very good too!“
“The food was artistically presented and delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance casual yet classy. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves in terms of the absolute artistry this place has in presentation of its delicious food.“
“small ramen with big flavors. I enjoyed everything from the chill atmosphere to amazing food. the blend of Peruvian cuisine with traditional Japanese dishes is a match made in foodie heaven. I had the double fried wings and sloppy joe bao bun for a starter and each dish was better than the last. the wings were super crispy yet tender inside and the sloppy joe bao buns were a trip down memory lane. the sloppy brought me back to my childhood eating at a friend's house. for my ramen I had the tonkatu. their pork broth was hearty and tasteful and reminded me of my first bowl of real ramen. I highly recommend going there and finding out on your own...“
“On Sunday, March 17, I went with the family for the first time to celebrate my son Adrian's birthday, we had a great time, the food was great. I have worked for a long time at the Hirohisa Restaurant in Soho, which has had a Michelin star since 2017 and I found the Peruvian food excellent. (I am Peruvian). I recommend it. The lomo saltado is really filet mignon and cooked to perfection, delicious male corvina, spicy shrimp, chaufa rice with chicken and not to mention the pineapple pisco sour the best, etc.“
“I had such a great time at Dora's Thursday happy hour. Great place to reunite with friends. Food was good, drinks well priced and the owner was a delight. My steak came out a little less red than I like but the flavor was delicious. One of my friends requested to add chicken to her pasta and the owner was happy to accommodate and my friend loved her dish.Vegetarian options: No meat Pasta, salad and vegetable dishes were on the menu .Dietary restrictions: There was enough of a variety for all to enjoy.Wheelchair accessibility: There was a gentleman in a wheelchair that appeared to be able to get around easily. Spacious dining area.“
“The food is amazing! Fresh and delicious. We are very impressed by the quality of food at a small restaurant like this. We love the spaghetti with string beef, seafood platter, and mussel ceviche. Everything is beyond our expectation. Quality food, good portion, and very reasonable pricing. Probably not a romantic atmosphere but definitely good for family and casual dining. We will be ordering many times on DoorDash in the future“
“Great music, great atmosphere. We had a good service, they forgot one of us and the others had to wait for us to eat all at the same time… Food was delicious, drinks too. I feel it was maybe a little bit pricey, specially on the drinks side but we had a great moment and we could definitely go back anytime.“
“This is a complete taste of authentic Peruvian food! All my experiences here have been with takeout. Calling to place an order is always prompt and accurate. Pick up isn't ever more than 20 minutes for food to be ready. The weekends seem to be the busiest as tables are filled with customers. Walking in on the weekends, you'll be walking into classic Peruvian music and/or modern Spanish music. The llama upon entrance is a nice touch to its culture and opportunity for a nice photo. Most importantly, thumbs up to the fresh seafood used for their ceviche mixto. Don't forget to add the papa ha la huancaina as a side dish. Overall, I find the prices here fair for the quality and quantity of what they serve.“
“After a day of thrifting, I looked up best restaurants near my location, and stumbled upon this incredible restaurant. It’s no frills, but truly incredible food and service. The staff were so kind and ensured we had everything we needed. My table ordered theceviche, lomo saltado, and some sausage and potato appetizers.Great price point, and a little gem in Paterson. Support this women owned business !! Can’t wait to head back“
“This is a small, but pleasantly presented BYOB restaurant - comfortable & welcoming. We had lomo saltado, tallerin saltado (seafood and the mixed beef & chicken), and tacu tacu bistek. All were delicious. Lots of fresh seafood, and chicken, and the beef was lean and tender. We tried the causa rellena (chicken) and causa de camarones for appetizers - tasty and refreshing. Everything was delicious, and service was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be going back.“
“I live in West New York and I come with my family to taste delicious grilled chicken, the best is their fries. My kids love the Chaufa joint. Their portions are abundant and the food is very fresh. Pablo, always kind and helpful, takes great care of us.The owners are charming. Highly recommended.“
“This place is cute. It's small and cozy but plays really great music not only Spanish but English too Ans it's not even that annoyingly loud. The staff top tier, they're great and amazing they make sure you're okay within a reasonable time and they're like annoying about it. I only had appetizers and drinks and both was really good I can only imagine their food is as good as the apps. Overall experience was great I love it. It's a great place to go with friends to catch up or even with a partner to have dinner.“
“I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the culinary wonders at our local deli, and I must say, it was a five-star delight from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere immediately set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The friendly staff greeted me with genuine smiles and were more than happy to help me navigate through their extensive menu. The variety of options was impressive, catering to all tastes and preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic deli sandwiches, crave a hearty salad, or desire a comforting soup, this deli has it all. The ingredients were fresh, and the attention to detail in each dish truly stood out.I opted for one of their signature sandwiches, and it was a flavor explosion! The bread was perfectly toasted, and the fillings were generous and well-balanced. What impressed me the most was the quality of the meats and cheeses – a testament to the deli's commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients. The side options were equally enticing, and I couldn't resist trying a few. The potato salad was creamy and flavorful, while the coleslaw added a refreshing crunch to my meal. It's evident that the chefs take pride in creating dishes that not only taste delicious but also showcase the artistry of deli cuisine. The service was prompt and attentive, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff's passion for the food they serve was evident in their recommendations and willingness to customize orders based on personal preferences. To top it all off, the dessert selection was a sweet revelation. I indulged in a delectable pastry that left me craving more. It's rare to find a deli that excels not only in savory options but also in the realm of desserts. In conclusion, this local deli has earned its five-star rating through a combination of exceptional food, welcoming ambiance, and outstanding service. Whether you're a regular looking for your go-to deli fix or a newcomer eager to explore a world of culinary delights, this establishment is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and savor more of their mouthwatering offerings!“
“The food was absolutely delicious. Although the server was a bit slow, it could have been an off day. Nonetheless, we will certainly return! Finding parking was a bit challenging, but we managed to find one in a nearby parking lot around the corner.“
“They are really excellent, the food is very good, the service is very excellent, a very good place to go to eat, it is quiet and it is very cheap. The only problem is that they do not prepare any type of cocktail, no alcohol, perhaps that is why not many people go, but apart from that That's why the service is first class....“
“Fui de visita desde Maryland a visitar a mi prima y me llevó a disfrutar un almuerzo, disfruté de un rico seco con frejoles y un ceviche, por ser la primera vez, me gustó mucho y visitaré la próxima vez, lo recomiendo y disfruten la comida peruana. Felices Fiestas Patrias.“
“I’ve been to this restaurant three times. And every time that I have went, the food and service have been amazing. I’m reading the reviews about people complaining about them being pricey, but you are paying for quality. If you want high-quality Peruvian food, this is the place to go to.When my husband and I entered the restaurant, they greeted us and sat us down. They gave us a complimentary fish shot aka “caldo de pescado.” The shot was very delicious. It was not an alcoholic shot. It is a fish soup shot, but it reminds me a lot of the ceviche taste. My husband ordered the Pollo Saltado, and I ordered the shrimp chaufa and the classic ceviche “leche de Tigre” cocktail. I am Peruvian and know what ceviche should taste like. And the ceviche was by far the best ceviche I’ve ever had. If you are a ceviche fanatic like me, you need to try each one of them on a separate occasion. They have a variety of different ceviche dishes. My husband loved his Pollo Saltado. He really enjoyed the two hot sauces.I ordered the shrimp chaufa, and it had a lot of shrimp. It was delicious and I would like to try the other chaufas with different protein.I have tried the Trio Criollo and it’s my favorite dish. It’s has papa la huancaina, arroz verde, pollo a la brasa and ceviche. Get this! I highly recommend.Anyway, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a very good choice.“
“The food is excellent, I ordered a personal size Ceviche (Ceviche d Pescado). The seasoning was very good and the ceviche was just right. (the fish was super fresh). The establishment clean and pleasant. But Belkis' service was excellent. (Very cordial and gentle) super professional. Thank you so much . Recommended! Overall ☆☆☆☆☆ +Alex.“
“There are many Peruvian restaurants but Julia’s Cafe is one of my newest favorite Peruvian food in town. The food is definitely authentically made by a Peruvian cook that understands the passion of culinary through Peruvian cuisine. Even down to sauces and spices you can taste some authenticity. We often get catering when we have a get-together or a birthday and they often times accept despite not having delivery drivers sometimes. I’m grateful for the owner and his service and for food. Everyone should give them a try and have a taste for themselves. ??“
“The food was amazing, I would love to call out Aries and Angela who were the cooks behind the amazing cuisines I got to try. As well as Joseph and Kathy who were amazing servers, they were so attentive and gave some of the best customer service. They are an excellent team, with some of the best personalities. Not only were they friendly and fun to converse with but they positive, and welcoming. It made the aura the best to have a meal in.“
“The food here is always 10/10 the rotisserie chicken is always crispy and delicious, and the rice and beans are always hot!! The little onion sauce is DELICIOUS!!! It’s spicy and makes the food super super good! I definitely recommend this place! Also the prices are really really affordable!!“
“First of all, the attention to some, the very kind lady waited for us because it was almost time to saw but the atmosphere was good vibes, for example the music, the food was very delicious, the airport, the magician's candy, the acevichado sushi, ufff, I have to return the acevichado maqui, I said sushi for They knit it for you, but one is Peruvian, it turns out that it's your za but recommended your guy Y7it?“
“A friend and I stopped by after driving for hours looking at apartments. We were just hungry and desperate for good food. Divina Frontera exceeded any expectations we had. We came around 6-7pm and everything we ordered (which was a lot) still came out fresh and delicious. I must say one of the things I’m most excited about moving to Elizabeth is being close to this gem.“
“The food and service were excellent. The prices are affordable, they serve you the quantity and taste of their wonderful food. I went on a Saturday and they had live music. Good to enjoy with family, as a couple, with your friends or simply alone. A 10/10“
“Great authentic Peruvian food , the best ceviche that isn’t ridiculously overpriced in the city ! As a person who comes from South American background and grew up in Queens going to many Peruvian restaurants the flavor is definitely worth the trip to Essex Market in LES if you want an authentic ceviche mixto in Manhattan.“
“Went here on a Sunday, service was top notch, there also wasn't many people. The Waiter was very nice, helpful, and energetic. The food was very delicious! The Arroz Chaufa, Grilled Chicken, and Fries that my family ordered were the best of the best. If I could give this Restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. Definitely Recommend for anyone trying to look for delicious food!Kid-friendliness: Atmosphere is very calm and of the many times I've visited this Restaurant, I always see a family or two dining.Wheelchair accessibility: At the Door Entrance, there is a ramp accessible for People in Wheelchairs.“
“PROs - food taste , location , price , food quantity CONs - service , ambience , spacing between tables !! 3.5 stars First timer . Wanted to try something new and spotted this restaurant in Google with 4+ review. First of all , it was a little tough to spot this restaurant .. it got lost to the restaurant next door called Babylon :). Wish they had some side boards . Price wise it was ok. Paid about 15 $ for lunch special .. service could be better . The women who took order didn't want to answer me about the menu. I'm new to Peruvian cuisine and didn't know what each food meant . Good was actually delicious . Loved the quarter chicken .. it was really tasty and well made . Salad was ok. Rice and bean was so good . There was very less space between tables .. you are almost sitting very close fo the next table and whatever they speak , you can hear and it's kinda not that good . Just for the food I gave 4 stars . Wanted to give 3 stars but 1 more star for the chef ..“
“You have to come to this place! I studied Peruvian cuisine in Lima and this place has authentic food from there, fair prices with incredible quality!Tiger's milk is spectacular! You have to eat in this place! Authentic Peruvian food at affordable prices are waiting for you here!Amazing tiger's milk!“
“e visitado muchos restaurantes peruanos donde la comida es rica, pero la verdad ninguna mejor que la comida de La Casa de Don Andrés. Es el autentico sabor peruano,más delicioso no puede haber.el mejor servicio y un ambiente muy tranquilo y familiar.lo recomiendo al 1000%“
“It is a small place but very cozy, it has a wide Colombian menu, I ordered the tripe and I really liked it, they have a menu for children, do not miss this experience since it is not a spicy food Low in salt, the rice has that garlic flavor and onion reminds us of the homemade “
“Humble place, but don't let it fool you. This is the BEST PERUVIAN FOOD I've tried in the area and I'm a big fan of Peruvian food,This is the best food so far, fresh and tasty made with loveAmazing lomo saltado, the Ceviche was very fresh, and the seafood soup was “
“In a town with a thousand Peruvian restaurants.. la casa de ceviche is one to check out! Went there late for dinner on a Sunday. Ordered shrimp chaufa and chicken chaufa and both were very delicious. For $19-22 a plate, the serving size did not disappoint. The waitress did not understand English but the menu has both Spanish and English.10/10 would recommend trying.Que rico, gracias!“
“Overall young chef and team they do a great job with service and establishment is really nice and clean. Only reason why I give you 4 stars it’s 16.62 for a small plate that barely had any mean although it tasted wonderful. Also rice was hard seemed like it was being switched but for a surprise visit good job.“
“Great restaurant and atmosphere, the food was very delicious and to its perfection. Abel our waiter was so welcoming and very professional. He gave us options in regards to menu options and would highly recommend to anyone around the area. Will definetely come back for the food and drinks ?“
“I just love Peruvian food and since I moved down south it's hard to find so when I come to NJ this be the first food I be ready for !!! The Jalea was so fresh and crispy you could tell the oil was clean the onion salad was perfect and went so well with the dish and definitely one of the best Chichas I had in a while !!!! Go get uuuu some“
“I’ve been coming to El Sombrero for years. The food has been very consistent and my Mexican and Peruvian friends love this place. I have come here as well as taking it to go. We don’t even live nearby, but we like it so much, that we drive half an hour to eat here. I’ve brought friends from all over the world to eat this ceviche. That said, tonight was a bit different. We were served by Miriam (according to the receipt). She was not only rude, she would roll her eyes every time we asked for something.I usually run into the sweet lady who’s always there who seems to be a manager or one of the owners, not sure. But I would have loved it if she was there so she could have a conversation with this girl.I’m definitely gonna be coming back, but I’m gonna wish that that girl is not our server next time“
“Service was very polite and fast, food was fresh and tasty as well as plentiful. We had leftovers. We also got a discount for paying cash.Vegetarian options: They have Beans, Waterdress, Salads.Wheelchair accessibility: Walkin entrance no stairs.“
“I built a core memory today, the day I found the best Peruvian Food in New Jersey. WOW! My expectations have been met and exceeded. The Chaufa was so good and such a large portion they clearly price the food knowing they are going to sell out. The ceviche mixto was amazing perfect lime and spicy level… I’ve always had to add lime or salt from other ceviches but not this one.The filete de pescado was perfectly cooked. Overall I’m excited to try the other dishes they offer I know I will not be disappointed.“
“Very good food served out of a taco truck. They have been on 57th st and 8th ave as of late. The food is solid. The tortas are the best thing on the menu. The salsas are good. The prices fair. The chichi morra drink was just OK though. Sort of like the Mexican hibiscus drink but not really worth $3. The guys are friendly and they accept credit cards. Usually a small line during lunch. But it moves fast.“
“So I would say food is good, service is great overall. Just a heads up: when ordering online for take out, the sauces they give are almost not even filled up and more watery consistency. It used to be creamy. It was not like this before, dont know why they changed it. Unlike when you eat in, the same sauces are actually better ??♀️“
“I came here for my birthday with family and it was great, food to vibes to service. Beautiful restaurant from entrance to bathroom. We had pisco sours, empanadas, ceviche, paella, steak, and arroz con pollo. The ceviche was fresh, bright, and balanced with the sweet potatoes and pickled onions. The mains were generous portions and tasted excellent.“
“Yesterday we went to eat with my family, we were 7 people and the food was delicious..... Each dish took us back to our country and the prices were good, the best thing was the attention of the girl from Bolivia was excellent!!!! We hope to return and always recommend it to our compatriots ❤️??“
“Buena comida, excelente atención amabilidad y educación del personal. Rapidez en el servicio y el plato equilibrado y bien presentado: resaltan la limpieza del plato los cubiertos y el local en general. El ambiente es grato e invita a volver para conocer el resto de la carta, de hecho volveré. Sería bueno que para clientes nuevos como es mi caso puedan leer en algún lado de la publicación el/los lugares donde podemos estacionar vehículos.“
“I couldn’t believe when I saw it about this restaurant selling my typical food from my town in Perú!!! I have been looking for so long a restaurant that will sell my jungle dishes from my town in Perú.If you haven’t tried authentic jungle food you got to try this place, is small place has few seating inside but food is delicious!!! I got Juanes, tacacho mixed with bits of fried pork skin, humitas saladas, arroz chaufa and papa a la huancaina (the last two dishes are typical Peruvian dishes)Also they have aguaje ice creams, cocona drinks and uvachados (exotic drink) delicious!!I’m definitely coming back to eat more of my favorite dishes!!!!“
“Really cool, hip spot in Caldwell for good Peruvian food. Our server knew exactly what to recommend as well when we asked about the specials, entrees, and appetizers. We had ceviche as a appetizer as well as some Maduros and they were quite tasty. I really enjoyed my main entree which was a Mofongo saltado which adds a nice Dominican fusion/flair to it. For dessert I went with the flan and espresso and I feel like you can't go wrong with that choice. My friends had the tres leches and they mentioned it was super tasty too. Not too many seats in the restaurant so make sure to call ahead and make a reservation.“
