“Biggest sleeper kitchen in town. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Formerly known as multiple dive bars different owners over many years. You now get homemade gourmet food from a Pugliese chef. Rice balls, pasta dishes, ribs, food all around. Good to get a drink and sandwich with fries. Go bananas with the steak for two. Just go.“
“Fantastic service, delicious flavors, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries!!! Wonderfully crispy and sweet; perfectly french fried! This place is a cozy neighborhood bar with American fare and a British pub flair. The service was friendly and welcoming. The best thing we tried was the sweet potato fires and the firecrackers calamari. Both were cooked wonderfully. The selection of beer and wine is adequate for anyone coming in for a meal or just to wet their whistle. Cash and credit are both accepted. Bathrooms are available for the public. Dining inside and outside is available. An interesting surprise was the Colman's mustard on the table, which was a very delicious condiment to add to the meal. 01/2024Parking: Metered street parking“
“The meeting SPOT! Conveniently across from the train ? station ?, close to the bronx River Pkwy. This is the joint! Whether youre dining in, taking out, watching the game or just meeting up with friends. It's perfectly named. The menu is off the charts and the food is wonderful. This bar restaurant needs to be reviewed. Any critic would be tickled to rate this joint. It's a real find.Parking: Whatcha gonna do!Wheelchair accessibility: Very“
“Due to circumstances, I can't go and eat there, so I've had Uber delivery for 3 days in a row now (trying various things). The quality of the food is incomparable to other restaurants. It's on a different level. Each and every sauce is made with care. They package it well. I had a question about the menu, so I called. When I did that, the female waiter (not Korean) was really kind! She explained it to me while shouting a little and said that she was sorry for yelling at the end because the store was too noisy. Even though she was busy, the waiter explained things so well! The food was great too!! I want to go and eat it warmly. I think it will taste better.“
“I'm going to start with yummy! Another fantastic restaurant in New York. Shared pear salad. omg loved so much that I tried to recreate when I got home. I absolutely loved this salad. Shared burrata as well, again, my goodness freaking delicious. For dinner, I had prime steak and mash, which was also very delicious and a fantastic price!!!“
“I am mad at myself for not coming here sooner. The food, drinks, service, ambiance - 10/10. They really did a wonderful job with this place. I haven't been this impressed with a place in a long time! Everything on the menu is delicious and on top of that, the cocktails are very reasonably priced. Cash only - ATM onsite if you forget. We are so happy to find a new place that we love!“
“Great little pub with an old school local vibe. Burgers and wings are very good. The wings are on the larger side so if you're more into the smaller wings with less meat on the bone you may not love them.My kids love the pizza. I'm a little more neutral on it due to the crust leaning a little towards a "store bought" type. But the sauce and toppings are spot on.The employees are great across the board. They all seem to enjoy working there vs just "having a job". Good place to hang with some friends or eat with the family.Parking: Depending on the time of day can be a little challenging.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly in the dining room for sure. The bar area has high tops but I wouldn't say that space is kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Not the easiest to access for people with disabilities.“
“Not your run of the mill City Island restaurant, I hope Archies can survive through all these pandemic shut downs. The food was really quality, creative and curated compared to anything on city Island. They definitely would not sell tilapia Frankenfish here. I remember visiting one of the more stylish restaurant on City Island, I was so disappointed to see tilapia on the menu and I could not finish my food. I would recommend they do something to make make themselves stand out more. When I mention Archies, many Yacht club members that of been going to city Island forever say Arties?“
“Great place great people. I attended a function for Disabled Veterans it was Great ! We had raffles, great food. And the Volunteers were the best they had speakers that spoke to us not at us. Usually people donate space for us to have things but ! You don't meet the owners not these guys they talked & had fun wit us like we were friends and notLike we were Disabled Veterans it was Great ! Not one question about why my leg had Scars on it from surgeries they didn't even see my legs and I had onShorts . WOW great people. Oh boyThey had a kid there serving by the nameOf Conner this young man handled a room wit 30 grumpy, battle tested Marines,Army artillery, and special forcesWit ease He didn't break a sweatAnd knew the menu in his head and keptThe orders straight ??♂️could be my RTOMan any day. Thanks 4 the experience“
“Delicious food, my steak frites sandwich was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is exactly what you want for a quick lunch, family dinner after little league, or at night with some good music and drinks.Parking: In a strip mallKid-friendliness: Nothing offensive, just a good place to eat.“
“when we got to the front door of this place, the bartender came out and opened the door to welcome us. We were just going to stay for one drink, but we stayed much longer. Everybody was so friendly, and the drinks are really really generous. what a great dive bar!“
“Good place for "bar pizza". Tasty dough and great wood fired flavor. Burger and fries very good also. Menu tries to be a little fancy and should stick more to what makes the place special- burgers- pizza- onion soup - etc. Good atmosphere with comfortable seating and cozy bar feel. Bartenders personable and serve good drinks (nice pours).“
“It's 2024 and this place is still a hit in my heart ❤️ ? ? I highly recommend coming to this beautiful establishment nestled in the heart of Spanish harlem on the east side. Come show some love to this Gem plus the best thing about this place besides the food, are the amazing people! It's such a vibe... love you ?“
“Tasty spot for a bite of food and lots of sports! Service was fast and friendly and my friend wolfed down the chicken sandwich before I could take a picture. It's a large space with lots of TVs, and I'm not sure how it's decided which TV shows what. No frills sliders were better with mustard, and for $16, the fries should have been included and the patty should have filled out the bun. I'd go back to watch some sports, and I can better judge the sound. It was pretty empty when we went.“
“Fantastic space with a lively, upscale, upbeat atmosphere. Welcoming, energetic vibe on a Saturday night. We've been there twice with a party of 6, and the food has been excellent both times. The veal chop... to die for! Wonderful service the 1st time. Everything was perfect. It was just ok last week, at best. But they were super busy and perhaps short-handed. In any event, there was an automatic 20% tip applied to the bill, so perhaps the server didn't care to give it her personal best. Still, we'll definitely return and recommend Roost.“
“Alex and his team are always so hospitable, kind, fun and charismatic! We go to Alexs at least 3 times a week!! The food is always perfection. Great quality and portions for a great and enjoyable meal. The wines are the best! Especially the reds! We also love hanging out at the bar and eating/drinking while having great convos with the regulars. Alexs food and atmosphere make it a very fun & enjoyable time! Highly recommend!!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options upon request. On the menu they have plenty of delicious pasta dishes, beautiful salads, amazing eggplant parm, and the best soups!! Not to mention AMAZING bread!!Dietary restrictions: Chef always accomodates our meals based on our dietary restrictions. Always so tasty! They can pretty much make us anything even if not on menu. Always delicious.“
“I just wanna say if you don’t have SANDY as your waiter you are missing in out! Her energy is so good she is so nice she is one of the best waiters I have ever had all the food was delicious Sandy I wish you the best your amazing love to eat here burgers and onion rings are “
“Legendary is an awesome spot. Came here with my gf and her friend and we love it so much that I’m leaving this review while I’m still here!Beers cold and foods hot!Frank the owner is super friendly and welcoming. First time going here and all the other people at the bar said they’ve loved this spot since it opened 13 years ago. Food came out quick and was tasty and also not expensive. Definitely coming back“
“Made a reservation, and first impressions were good. the first seating they placed us had a broken table so they moved us which was nice they let us pick any spot. the place had Good ambiance with good music that set a good vibe and plenty of tvs to watch sports game. The service was good too our waiter always stopped by to check on us if we need anything. they also gave good recommendations on the menu. the beverages like the mule were good and the food was okay, albeit a bit overpriced for the area. we got quesadillas, wings, sliders, and 2 basket of fries with plenty of drinks. they also tacked on a mandatory 20% gratuity for a party of 3. the beverages were pretty good i enjoyed it. i'll definitely come back !“
“It was my first time eating (and not just drinking) here & it was so good. The bartender was attentive like he always is, I don't remember his name but he's the only one behind the on weekdays usually. It was lively & he told me about karaoke coming up. I think it's on Thursdays? Anyway super good food & sangrias were great!“
“This cute and cozy wine bar has been opened for quite a while and I just decided to stop by a few weeks ago. I paired shrimp pizza with a glass of sauvignon blanc and it did not disappoint. The staff are very friendly and you'll always run into some neighborhood locals. Definitely a New Rochelle staple and you should stop by if you can. It's great for a low key date night for a cool vibe.“
“Hookah was 100/10, food was 1000/10. Great atmosphere. It was me and my boyfriend there and some guys and you still feel good and have fun. Great music. I was served by Jessica, she welcomes you and comes by to see what you need. We drank about 4 margaritas, 2 hookahs, and food. Total was less than $200.“
“My friends and I came here for brunch and were not disappointed. I had the jerk chicken wings and shrimp & grits, both of which were fresh and full of flavor. The staff were pleasant enough and the prices were fair. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area next.“
“Was just visiting the area and watched the Super Bowl at Gerry's and had great time. Good food, great staff and fun atmosphere. Great TV viewing set up. A fun friendly crowd. Thanks Gerry's for a fun night. (PS They also provided a free halftime buffet of food goodies)“
“I came to visit the club scene with a few lady friends.. the atmosphere was giving ole skool grown..after a while of course the vibes picked up..the only negative was the mixologist didn't know what a Blue motorcycle was which is a no no when it's the easiest and common drink to make. I can definitely offer my services if y'all are hiring ? other than that.. I wanna check out the dining side of this establishment if it's available“
“The quesadilla I had, was fantastic! Definitely coming back for that. Unfortunately- even on a not busy afternoon, I had to flag down the bartender for a drink every time. And it’s not as if he was busy - he was standing at the end of the bar chatting with other customers for about 10 minutes without paying attention to the other 4 people at the bar. I had to verbally try to get his attention in order to order another drink. That’s not a sign of a good bartender.“
“Good little tavern. Food was perfectly fine - good burger. Prices were as you would expect for a non-fancy bar in a non-fancy borough.Staff was friendly and chatty. The only thing that didn't go smoothly was that they take cards but only cash tips, and I had very little cash on me so I under-tipped. I wish they had told me when I ordered.Good place.“
“An excellent place to grab amazing food, drinks and watching some sports on the monitor.Been going here every military drill weekend since 2007 and I'm never disappointed with the location. My favorite are the Buffalo Wings and the Grill Chicken Sandwich.Highly recommended if ever nearby this location just crossing the Throgs Neck Bridge.Parking: About 15 cars can park around the place. Might be a little difficult after that on a narrow street.“
“We went back to Louie's for a family dinner after many years.Food was very good this time, much improved from what I remember from years ago, but it probably also depends on what you order (we had the branzino and ahi tuna). They have a unique waterfront location so hopefully they'll continue improving the food quality and service to achieve a five star level.“
“recently visited Lion Head Tavern and had a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a meal solo. Mikey, the bartender, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our drinks were always topped up and offering great recommendations from the menu. Speaking of which, the food was delicious! From hearty pub classics to more innovative dishes, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Overall, Lion Head Tavern gets top marks for its ambiance, service, and tasty fare. I’ll definitely be returning, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining and drinking spot in town!“
“This review is for the Lounge Bar, not the restaurant. We went as a group after exchanging gifts. It's a place for salsa lovers, they only play salsa. They have instruments like conga, drums, cowbell, where visitors can play them. I don't particularly like places with such loud music, but I had a great time. This review is for the Lounge Bar not for the restaurant. We went as a group after an exchange of gifts. “I stopped in after an evening rehearsal and was greeted kindly by the bartender. The kitchen was open late and I ordered the chicken tenders with french fries and let me tell you they were absolutely scrumptious! The beer on tap was also top notch and the calm ambience was just what I needed after a long day.Highly recommend you stop by and say hi!“
“The atmosphere here is very warm and fun! I started coming here alone to sit on their wonderful patio and to just unwind after a long work day/week, and I have met some of the most wonderful people. The bartenders and the patrons are so friendly, social and some silly and make you feel very welcoming. When the weather is nice you can sit outside and watch the numerous hawks flying overhead which is a sight to see! Bridget and Desi are such wonderful friendly owners also. Check out the woman's bathroom and observe the beautiful fresh flowers! Food is excellent and the drinks are affordable and made perfectly by the fantastic bartenders! Whenever I am in a bad or good mood I go here and always leave extra happy :o)“
“I have walked by this place 100 times and didn't give it much thought. But decided to give it a try on national margarita day. They kindly made room for me at the bar & told me it was happy hour until 9p. I think it's typically until 7p. The margaritas aren't gourmet but they're big & they hit the spot. What really surprised me was the food. The guacamole was special - I had a spicy pineapple. YUM. I still think about it. Then I ordered the barbacoa tacos.. omg. The flavor! Quite unexpected for your average-looking Mexican restaurant in NYC. I will be back & think this spot is underrated.“
“I enjoyed the experience me and my party are for had appetizers and sandwiches beer and hookah. The music was great. There was plenty of space to dance and enjoy yourself. The only thing I did not like is one of the appetizers was a coconut shrimp cocktail. I've never had coconut shrimp in a cocktail sauce. I thought it was weird but everything else was good.“
“Wasn’t sure what to expect when I stopped here for a quick dinner. Is it a sports bar? Is it a bistro tavern? It kind of has a sports bar feel when you walk in but then it leads to a compact, cozy dining room. French Onion Soup was decent. Burger was very good - fries that came with it were top notch. Service was friendly and efficient. I might stop by again if I’m in the area.“
