“Okay Soo I wasn't sure at first..but when I got in and saw the food I thought just a typical food place... But OMG ? the food is really good and it's fresh I had meatballs and chicken with rice and when I bite in it...hmm it like melted Soo good they had fresh salad which was also really good...all in all this place just needs more love but the food man I ate 2 times yesterday... That's how good it was. Who knows I might go back for tha 3rd time...“
“Nice establishment, staff could be more friendly and welcoming. We had a big party and they literally checked all of our receipts once we sat down to make sure we all paid.(I thought that was very tacky). The place was clean and we only had about a 5 minute wait once we were inside.“
“Tasty fresh and affordable.- They have salad bar (not self service) where you can get a large salad with chicken, cheese (including fresh mozzarella!) and 3 other toppings for ~$11 (take that, sweetgreen!). The salad bar guy was really friendly and will ask you about exact portions for dressing etc.- They also have a hot and cold bar with other stuff that wasn’t fancy but looked good (including some fish)“
“The food is good. It has a decent selection to choose from. You have to wash your hands before serving yourself. That's a plus for me ! The lady at the checkout service needs some customer service classes. She never smiles or greets you. I have to say thank you , have a nice day. I'm lucky if I get a response in return. The food is by weight . So be wary of how much you put in your food container. It's expensive !!Vegetarian options: There is a small salad bar . But plenty of steamed vegetables. There are some fish options too.“
“I bought some dishes from this spot a while ago. It's a neighborhood and Caribbean food spot. I bought chicken for family and shrimps for myself. It was okay. Well seasoned and no complaints. It's been a while, maybe I should pay them a visit on a day I don't make my delicious homemade dishes. Service was okay back then, so hopefully it's better. The atmosphere is all about come in, order, pick up your food and leave. It's not a hangout spot. I'll revisit again! #foodieforlyfe“
“Soldiers is getting bad, I'm not sure if they changed the chef but I waited all week to get the stew peas and rice which had no seasoning, none, not even salt and pepper in when I call to inform the Of this error they had attitude think I was going to move my car and come back for a refund (which is what they hope for) 2nd Saturday morning 9am I buy food because I don't want stale food 2nd time the fried dumpling are drenched in cold oil and and then breakfast cold Not sure what you want to do but but uncooked hard meat is killing black folks and not listening isnt working neither.“
“We arrived on Saturday at 2 o'clock, 5 adults 3 children. The smells are delicious, the room is crowded, we waited 10 minutes for a large table to become available. There are reminders everywhere not to stay longer than 2 hours.We ordered lemonade for everyone (paid separately) and began to fill our bellies. Everything I tried was very tasty. I didn’t notice right away that the chair was rocking in front of me and the furniture in general was shabby; all my attention was on the food))).Some of the dirty plates were taken away by the staff, and some were taken out themselves.After 1.5 hours they brought the bill with a 12% tip included.For all 220 dollars.The adults liked it, the children were happy.“

That was amazing because since the pandemic I haven't visited yet. The place has been renovated and the food is astonishing... The price is not cheap but decent.. is the food experience... Besides the made to order option and they also have a large buffet area. Again with list of options. After you grab your food there is seating in the 2nd floor loft.Staff was very nice“
“Essen is a pick your own deli type of eatery. I've been here several times for lunch and they have a wide variety of food. All very good. I am a regular for breakfast, they have a fantastic assortment and my favorite is the oatmeal bar, they have several different varieties of oatmeal and toppings. My favorite is the oatmeal with coconut milk, brown sugar and cinnamon and fruit. You make it yourself so you can perfect it!“

He loved the variety of foods they had and we didn’t have to drive all the way to Flushing or Manhattan. It’s a big place with tons of choices and relatively fresh food.I just thought it was a little weird that they buy some of their reviews. We chose this place because of reviews so when they asked for 5 stars on google in order for that 20% off to apply it just felt a little manipulative and a little awkward… but the places is actually pretty good and I saw a lot families excited to be there and my dad had a good time.I had to come back here and re-edit my review and give the community the honesty it deserves.Kid-friendliness: Tons of options for kids.“
