“I have to say this restaurant was absolutely delicious!! So glad we tried the only Mexican Michelin star in New York!!!

We went here for our anniversary and were very pleased! Our reservation was for 9 and our table was ready exactly at that time.  Service was fantastic! Our waiter was really friendly and very knowledgeable about all the food items.  He answered all of our questions about flavors and portion sizes quite thoroughly which made our decisions easy!

Their tequila and mezcal varieties were very extensive and they had great cocktail options as well! For appetizers we decided to choose the smoked mangoes, tuna tostada, and the punta verde caesar.  All were so tasty and had such amazing flavor, we even ordered another tuna tostada!!  I would say we felt the mangoes were more of a snack/dessert and not an app but we were not mad about it at all because the smokiness they were able to get into the mangoes was amazing!

For the main course we went with the lamb and swordfish tacos (it comes with 2 each).  They are average sized, nothing too big or small especially since we ordered so many appetizers between the two of us!!  Both dishes were so flavorful!! I would highly recommend trying everything you have room for since the choices we made were bursting with so much flavor!

We chose the Oaxacan chocolate cake and the tres leches for dessert.  The cake and ice cream had a strong espresso flavor, maybe because I don't drink any coffee/espresso at all but it was still very tasty.

Overall this was a very affordable Michelin Star restaurant and we were extremely pleased with every aspect of our dining experience.  We would absolutely return to try more menu items and highly recommend paying them a visit if you are a fan of big, bold flavors!!

“The first time I heard about this place was when I saw their huge sign while driving. My friends and I decided to give it a try and enjoy the food. Since they were running late (or maybe I just arrived too early!), I ended up sitting at the bar and ordered a happy hour margarita with chamoy and Tajín on the rim. For $20, it included chips and guac or salsa—not bad at all. The margarita was delicious, and the chips were fresh.

Once my friends arrived, we ordered a few dishes to share: the enchiladas, tacos a la barbacoa, and tres leches cake. Everything was good, though the food itself wasn’t something we’d rave about, but we definitely enjoyed the overall vibe. I do want to mention that the staff was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable.“

“This place is wonderful. Great cocktails, great food, great service. I've been here probably two dozen times in the last year. Their mission statement and commitment to Mexican communities making the best Mezcal that's out there is wild to me. If you have the money to go out and spend, doing so here is going to really great places. Also the owner is just the nicest person.“

“Came for my husbands birthday. Birthday card was at the table which was nice. Service was friendly the best deal for the price was the whole sea bass that came with 6 tortillas and a spicy green sauce. The ribs with pineapple chutney & the Beet salad were very delicious too. The portion size of the beet salad was worth the price. Did not get the tacos, $18 for only two tacos seemed too excessive. Desert menu seemed simple in comparison to the other food items so we skipped that and went somewhere else for dessert. Favorite cocktail was the ‘Cosecha’ beautiful stirred cocktail with lacto fermented honey, palo santo, Sherry, & reposado tequila! The non-alcoholic horchata could have been a bit sweeter or with more baking spice flavor but I still enjoyed it.“

“Let me emphasize this, NOBODY and I do mean NOBODY, makes a delicious bowl the way Tacobees do. I live far and order with extra charges through Ubereats because it’s just that good and worth every penny. I get burritos the size of a tiny baby. I should know because I’ve had tiny humans before and those burritos are at least 2lbs or more lol.

The way the burritos and bowls are made, is just so good. They don’t skimp out on anything. It’ll be full to the absolute brim. Their queso and guac is hands down the best out of all other chains (Chipotle, Moe’s and Qdoba.) The steak and honey chicken is just chefs kiss. I love how my delivery is also always warm and the most important part, correct. They just get me and can take my check any weekend!“

“Came in on a Friday at noon - the interior was welcoming and clean. I ordered the La Callejera and it was delicious! Service was quick and very nice. Portion was big for me - ended up eating half and will be eating other half for dinner. Would definitely come in again. Order total was about 21 for the torta and a Mexican coke.“

Karen went above and beyond, letting me try all three of their drinks, and WOW—that horchata hit every flavor palette perfectly. I ended up buying a small, and she even threw one in for my friend on the house! Then she let me try her favorite dish—the Al Pastor—and let me tell you, that meat was seasoned to perfection! The little grilled pineapples? Chef’s kiss!

Now, let’s talk about the Birria Pizza. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING—this was EVERYTHING and beyond! The beef was incredibly well-seasoned, the guacamole knocked it out of the park, and the combination of flavors with the cheese and pico de gallo was just insane! And the best part? The slice held together beautifully, packed with flavor in every single bite. Trust me, one slice is enough to get you semi-stuffed—eat two, and you might as well clock out for the day!

While waiting, I also had a chicken taco, and again, the flavors were on point! Everything blended together perfectly, making every bite a delight.

Order at the counter and wait for your order in the garage. Food was pretty good, less expensive than others, good portion. For the taste, we preferred Tacombi (see other review) but price quality/ratio is unbeatable.

Service was minimal.

“I know some people may argue with me, but you can tell a lot about a taco place by how well they make a chicken taco. Hear me out! Pork and beef are hard to mess up because of all the animal proteins available, they require the least amount of help to taste good. On the other hand, chicken needs a lot of it. It can either be too bland or too dry, but these tacos are juicy perfection! I don’t have a single note about them. The oyster mushroom tacos were even better! Vegetarian taco options are another true test of a taqueria and these have a smokiness that will not allow you to leave single piece behind on your plate. I ate these two, and order another set before I decided it was time to call it a night. I’ll be back for more.

“We stumbled upon Casa Maya while trying to fix a late night taco craving. The interior is quaint, yet cozy and inviting, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We were seated immediately and given the menu. The menu isn't expansive, but covers all that one would need in a place like this. We started off with the chips and guacamole which is served in what I think is a fried tortilla bowl. It was FANTASTIC! The chips were fresh and perfectly crispy. We ate the entire appetizer, including the tortilla bowl. For entrees, we opted to try four different tacos, all of which were nothing short of fantastic. We got chicken, baja fish, carnitas (pork) and birria. Of the four, the standouts were definitely the carnitas and the fish. They just had something extra in them that made them top tier. The size of the tacos were about standard, and they were all very filling, and very fairly priced.

My date opted to only have water, while I had a cocktail featuring gin, prosecco and other ingredients. I don't remember the name but it was very good. The other cocktails on the menu looked good as well, but I only had one. When I return I'll be sure to try more.

Service was very speedy and professional. The staff was always around in case of questions, and the food came out super fast. The only reason that didn't give this establishment 5 stars is because I think the interior could use a bit of an upgrade. It was a little too plain for my taste. It could be the look/vibe that they're going for, which isn't a bad thing at all. But I think they could add some lights or artwork on the walls. That's just a personal thing, and it definitely doesn't take away from anything else previously mentioned.

Overall, this is definitely a great spot for a date, quick bite, or even some drinks after work to unwind and hang out. Although it's far from where I reside in Westchester, I'm definitely planning to come back and try their other offerings. Highly recommended by yours truly“
