“On a Sunday afternoon during our weekend stay in Hudson we ware lucky enough to get a table here and what a treat that was!We got some appetisers and threes different mains for us to try. For a moment it felt like we are in Tuscany and not in Hudson.A definite recommend!It may be our favourite Gem!!!”

“The thing that blew me away is the beauty of the menu and people. Everything on the menu works together and against itself. Somehow on 1 menu there is pate, porridge, pasta, bologna, a $15 shrimp, foie gras, and a cocktail with the word poo in it. It's like the rest of Hudson- a group of people doing whatever makes them happy and it's great. We went here twice in 18 hours. The menu changed - somehow The decor is quirky, the staff is friendly and answered everyone of my questions, the food is decadent and incredibly well executed The kitchen is exposed - and silent. Somehow through a lunch rush and brunch rush everything was spot on and not a single shout from the kitchen - perfectly orchestrated. The bologna sandwich - velvety and decadent. Only a few ingredients - but well thought out. Couldn't be made any better. The friggen crepe - fluffy and flat at the same time. Beautiful flavor - maybe buttermilk? Some other acid? Charred and barely cooked at the same time. Makes no sense The tartare - incredibly flavorful with some crunchy bits of celery? or something. The bread was just very toasted white bread. Simple and perfect The porridge - modeled as a congee with flavorful chili oil and a barely poached egg Teccione pasta - mushrooms and chives in a thin butter sauce - so rich but still light”

“Want a great wine list (without an hour-long wait for a seat)? Come here. Want a yummy little snack with your wine? Even better! I wouldn't call Sonder a hidden gem, but perhaps an undersung highlight of Kingston in general and midtown in particular.”

“Don't be fooled... Although the "VV" designation on the menu means that the dish is vegan, there are many more things on the menu that can be veganized! Tamale? ✅ Loaded fries? ✅. Food is quite delicious! Staff is really nice but the place can get overloaded and a touch slow at peak times.”

“I was away for the weekend with my wife in the area. I had heard so much about this place so I decided to give it a try. I assume the person that took my order was the owner and he was very friendly and pleasant. My sandwiches were made fairly quickly and I brought them back to where I was staying. We had two bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a bagel and they were wonderful and the coffee was delicious as well.”

“We got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside in August 2023 and had a wonderful experience working with Henrietta and Matt after stumbling upon the venue on Airbnb. It was meant to be because we later figured out that we had frequented Henrietta’s bar, Night of Joy, in Brooklyn when we first started dating and her amazing aesthetic really comes through. We had our closest friends stay with us at the house for the weekend and hosted 100 guests.The look and feel of the space is uniquely chic and quirky all at once with beautiful modern and vintage accents. It's quite whimsical which makes for awesome wedding photos - we didn’t need any additional decor, except for flowers. The backyard/deck space and lakeside views were exquisite in late summer sunshine. The day of our wedding the rain held out for us and we were able to have our ceremony on the lawn, facing the lake and had dinner under a tent on the deck with additional seating in the adjacent room with the sliding doors fully open, and dancing in the bar room under the disco ball. The lawn games and pool table added to the summery and fun atmosphere.Henrietta was very clear in her communication, very responsive, patient throughout our planning process from beginning to end, and offered recommendations for other vendors and services, which were really helpful to us. Henrietta and Matt were also super helpful and flexible in assisting us with our food and beverage selections, answering our many many questions, and providing staff (who were all friendly and professional) when needed. All of the food was truly excellent and everything was served on time. The grilled cheese sandwiches and handcut fries we had as afterparty snacks were a massive hit. Henrietta was also around and available to assist throughout our wedding weekend, which we really appreciated and she communicated well with all of our vendors.We’re so grateful that we found Vanderbilt Lakeside and will forever cherish the memories of our wedding there. We highly recommend it!”

“Relaxing lowkey spot with some major grandma vibes. Classic American breakfast food done right. Fluffy ENORMOUS pancakes, perfect home fries, and tasty crispy bacon. Service was quick and the owners are lovely. Don't be surprised if you have to wait up to 10 minutes to be seated, it's small and clearly word has gotten out about this gem. Highly recommend!”

“I was looking for a coffee-ish shop with good food and stumbled upon Quinnie’s. It’s a little bit outside of Hudson but worth it to ditch the overwhelming crowds on Warren Street. The food was delicious, counter service is always a plus and they have delicious coffee. “Met friends for breakfast, fantastic breakfast sandwich (out of avocado :/) but the GF waffle was amazing for my friends with celiac. Great coffee, attentive staff, and the atmosphere is adorable! Bought fresh flowers as we were leaving, highly recommend for breakfast/brunch!”

“This review is long overdue. Bar Bene is our favorite spot to come to when we are in Hudson. They have a beautiful backyard firepit and a great wine/charcuterie menu, which combined make the perfect relaxing evening. The owner and employees are all so friendly and warm. What a fabulous place!”

Boy, were we glad that we picked this place for dinner while en route via amtrak.We had the Wonton Nacho, State Grill Burger and the Truffle Shuffle Burger. All of it was delicious and our server was so sweet and welcoming, she made us forget that we were anywhere near NYC but closer to a small town kind of hospitality and vibe. “Yes, a must go to in Hudson, although the aluminum truck might throw you off as a crappy junk food place, yummy kitchen has the insanely good tasting healthy food, and if you want to put on a few pounds I would recommend the crispy chicken sandwich, it's better than any fast food chicken sandwich :) 11/10”

“Called in to see if they are dog friendly. From the way they answered my simple question I knew it was gonna be a good experience. They had treats for my dog and a water bowl as well. Everyone kindly asked if they could pet her and was very happy she was with us. The bartender and the owner along with all of the patroons were incredible nice and inviting. Had a flight of beer before deciding on the NEIPA. (Not a bad beer in the flight) 10/10 will be back!”

“Got an espresso to stay. Came with a little cookie which was a nice touch. My pics don't include the spoon cause i left it at the pickup station. Friendly staff and unique environment. Smells like leather and machine oil so if you like that then it's the coffee shop for you.”

“I had a wonderful meal and experience on Sunday night at Wm Farmer and Sons that exceeded my expectations. Visiting from San Francisco, and having read reviews that highlighted a lot of praise and a couple of gripes, I was cautiously optimistic. While the restaurant was certainly not crowded at 8 PM on a rainy Sunday night, it had a wonderful ambience with the fire visibly roaring and the ability to choose my seat, graciously offered by host Dave. Having the ability to start at the bar and order a cocktail before settling in for dinner was a plus and seeing a South African Pinotage as one of the reds by the glass got me going right away! My server, Lynette, was friendly, poised, articulate, knowledgeable,and patiently highlighted the menu, including minute details of the ingredients from memory. She was the glue that held the entire experience together. I started with the oysters that were nicely small, expertly shucked, and not as briny as I expected (which is a great thing), followed by grilled bread and rosemary butter that was delicious in its own right. I coupled that with their very generous steak tartare over, I believe, minced beats, topped with a quail egg, that perfectly satiated me. I finished with a warm sticky toffee dessert topped with olive oil ice cream, and an expertly crafted white Negroni. Judging from the happy conversation, joyful sharing of each other's plates, and nods of approval from the two couples sitting next to me, there was ample agreement that Wm Farmer and Sons hit it out of the ballpark that night! ”

“We went for a late Valentine’s dinner. We had the passed the place a few times saying we have to try it someday so we did. I suggest making a reservation because they fill up quickly at dinner time. The food was great and fresh with no disappointments. It’s not a shirt and tie place but slightly dated and comfortable. The pitcher option for margaritas is a great option. The staff was busy but helpful and attentive. Will go again and again.”

“Great Jamaican Food!!! This hidden gem in Hudson/Greenport is the place to go for authentic Jamaican dishes. The owners, Randy and Anne are delightful and really care about the quality of the food they serve. I've had every dish on their menu and each one has been delicious. Portions are generous with both lunch and dinner sizes at reasonable prices. My personal favorites are their traditional Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Curry Chicken and Oxtails. All served with rice and peas, plantains and veggies. In colder weather they offer a hearty soup with traditional Jamaican Spinner dumplings. Whenever they have a "special" dish I always give it a try and have not been disappointed. Just yesterday they offered a special Barbeque Chicken which was sweet and savory. I certainty hope this becomes a dish they offer regularly.They are open on Wednesdays and Fridays and are my go to place for take out Wednesday dinner. They serve out of a stationary food truck with plenty of onsite parking. Food is packed for take out and there are picnic tables with umbrellas if you'd like to eat there. They are located up on the hill overlooking Fairview Ave just a bit south of Bagel Thyme. Stop by, check it out. You will not be disappointed.Parking: Lots of easy parking.”

“Such a gem in the heart of Hudson that actually stays open for Millennial/ people who work all day-hours and the food is amazing too which was a delightful surprise when we first came in. We try to pop in once a week when we can and Tara is our favorite bartender and always brightens our day! Loving how cozy it is inside with the wood burning stove now that it's cold and also love how much space there is and missing sitting outside in the summer. Can't wait to come back on a Friday for the live music which also blew my mind tonight. Thanks for being our local watering hole!”

“Great spot for a quick bite or ice cream. I had the cheeseburger and fries and both were exceptional. The burger was juicy and perfectly done. The fries were awesome. Of course, the star of the show is the ice cream... which is very good. There are many flavors, and you can get them in waffle cones, sundaes, or milkshakes. My son had the banana split and he loved it. I had the Queen of Hearts ice cream, which is dark chocolate and raspberry swirl, and it was great. There is seating on stools around the perimeter of the interior and benches outside for the warmer months. Definitely stop in of you're in the area!”

Favorites include daily pasta specials half or whole, soups and house bread. Servers are circling the tables, softly checking in for questions and extras. Warm and inviting, the lighting is perfect in the restaurant. Step outside onto Warren street for a stroll, dog watching is free!”

“My partner and I’s favorite place to go! It’s close by, service is always great. Food is always amazing. I recommend the Monte Rouge breakfast sandwich and the Greek wrap. My partner loves the classic crispy chicken sandwich. The staff is always so friendly and working so hard! Bobs is usually pretty busy, but they keep up! “After meandering down Warren Street we stumbled upon 225 Warren and I’m so glad we did.We were immediately greeted by a friendly host then taken to a table in the main dining area.Service was quick and polite. We had a burger and fish & chips which were both excellent! I also had a Bloody Mary which was incredible especially if you love horseradish!I highly recommend 225 Warren for their hospitality and delicious food!”

“Le Perche is a little French restaurant tucked away in Hudson. They have a few tables outdoor (which is great during the summertime) and several tables indoor including counter top. There were also tables in the back patio that were enclosed when I visited with heat lamps and honestly, the set up made it so cute. Our server was David and he was an absolute gem, constantly checking up on us and making sure everything was great. Our group ordered quite a bit of things but some notable standouts were the tivoli mushroom toast and the mussels which had this sweet and spicy sauce with a slice of bread soaked underneath all that goodness. I would have preferred the slice of bread on the side to dip but delicious regardless. Get the focaccia and their croissants as well. Croissants were flaky and super buttery. Fries are also fried so perfectly with aioli so highly recommend that as well. I'll be back again next time for sure!”

“I have had back to back 5 star experiences at The Maker. The service impeccable yet incredibly kind and cheerful. The food is off the hook. The octopus ? was transcendent. The eggplant terrine perfection. I’ve had the pleasure of tasting 5 different pasta dishes all of them delicious and not just the sauces the homemade pasta was light and succulent. Truly I love this place.”

Vegetarian option was also delicious and very well thought out. Highly recommend the potatoes and the pretzel. I don't usually do the cheese dip with pretzels, more of a mustard girl, but this beer cheese was so tasty! “This place is pretty cool! My fiancé and I stopped here on a long drive and loved it. The Chana masala and Chana saag were really great and the vegetable samosa were some of the best I’ve had. The guy’s father was the chef and he prepares it every morning and the guy just cooks it in the truck when you order it. His mom makes the samosas. There are little tables out in front of the truck to sit at if you want to stop to enjoy the food. “Food was great and the people are so nice. They have a very big new menu with Japanese food, wings, burgers, seafood. Teriyaki chx and beef dinners are great. We ordered fried haddock, homemade fries and wings that were made fresh and very good. Subs are still awesome with some meats roasted in house. Prices are super fair. Try the roast beef sub or one of the Japanese diners, awesome and a ton of food! And they serve breakfast all day.”

Good sized interior space that offers events and live music. Parking lot seating, facing backside of historic Hudson along train tracks. Good trick is available. Pet and family friendly. The beer selection was the only challenging part, so flights are a great option.”

Today I was having a rough day at work not feeling well and I stopped in for some soup. The hostess who we see all the time was so kind and sent me on my way with some soup on the house instead of sending me back to my car to grab cash as the soup was below the minimum card purchase threshold. “I called earlier in the day to ask if Spring Garden could seat 9 of us for my Step-Mother’s birthday, and the woman said yes. I brought in a birthday cake before the rest of my family arrived and the woman was very accommodating to my request. The guy that took care of us was great! Very good with the kids and so positive and helpful. He brought the cake and sang happy birthday and played a birthday song on the speakers, it was perfect. My Step-Mom was very surprised and had a great time. The food was great and I recommend this place ALWAYS. Thank you!”

“The food here is great.The pizzas are out of this world.When I asked for extra toppings on a slice I was given extras with no problem and a smile to boot?. Inside is small with just a few spaces to sit and eat but usually there's always an empty space as most people do take out orders. The staff is always polite and attentive. I would recommend this eatery for anyone looking for great tasting food, polite employees and a cozy yet small atmosphere. “We don't have LJS where I'm from so anytime we have one near our travels, we stop. Fryers were changed before we got there and oil was not up to temp. They said it would be about half an hour and then some to then cook our fish. So we left and came back. Even though we ended up with the wrong shrimp then what we ordered, Elias and staff did everything to make the long wait right. Thank you”

“I happened to be working installing 3 garage doors today at a building directly behind this place. Me and my Co-worker were hungry for lunch and not being from Hudson we weren't sure where to eat. Honest to god I seen the OPEN flag from the side flapping in the breeze and decided to walk up to see "What Exactly was Open" hoping it was a deli to get some food. Well turns out its a PIZZA/Cafe perfect. We go in for a few slices. They dont sell slices put sell whole pies. Okay give us a Small $12. She tells us 10mins. We go back to work and I go back in 10mins and grab the pizza. Well here's the best part of the story. Pizza was 10/10 nice crust, sauce and cheese was just the right amount. NO GREASE dripping. Pizza looked wood fired cooked had that nice toasty crisp. If your in the area I strongly recommend you stopping by. The inner decor was nice an inviting to dine and eat.”
