“A fun restaurant in Long Beach. Great food... we had the breakfast quesadilla, pesto chicken sand. and avocado toast and all were delicious. The wait staff are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly with ample parking on the avenue. It's our go to in LB.“
“I had a reservation for 5 people on a Monday evening in early November, and when we got there found out that the restaurant was going to close that day but opened up just to serve us rather than cancel. I was a little skeptical that the owner could be host, wait staff, bus staff, and cook and still get us in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time, but boy were we all impressed! The dinner went off without a hitch, we had wonderful food served up in a timely fashion, some complimentary hot apple cider on the cold evening and even some free desserts to taste in honor of the birthday of one of our party! Fantastic customer service under trying conditions, which we really appreciated, and everyone swore to come back another time! Based on the prices you might expect an upscale environment, but while it was comfortable it was pretty bare-bones inside.“
“I had a very delicious French onion soup and an order of sliders, that were very filling. The service was very good. Each waitress who came by smiled and said hi ?. There was a small party in the backyard. It looks like a great venue to host an event. I would go back!“
“Where to start? Shines is hands down the best bar in the West End! Staff is great; always available for a conversation a laugh and a good time. The reason for me writing this post is to appreciate the level of care and concern for safety of all patrons that the staff has. I won't write out the entire thing, but on one occasion I was being followed/had someone not leave me alone. Mike, Tom and (another) Mike made sure that the guest left and kept me safe while he was leaving. They made sure that the unruly guest didn't see me leave or follow me, and got him to leave me alone while I was at the bar. Its great to see a group of people that put the safety of their guests at the forefront of their business even if it is a busy Sunday Night. Also, drinks are on point, and while they don't serve food, they are always open to you ordering/eating outside food at the bar while you have a drink!“
“Delicious and fun every time we visit. The clam chowder is super fresh and the empanadas leave you wanting another round! The cocktails are excellent. They are creative, delicious and easy to drink- also a feast for the eyes with the attention to detail cocktail pick! Love the service, the music, the food and the drinks. “I just recently hosted a retirement party here for my parents, and it truly could not have been a better experience. From first contact to the day of the event, Matt was so responsive and receptive to my requests. It was a seamless and stress free planning process, which made planning a surprise party so much easier. We did cocktail style passed appetizers, which were all delicious and plentiful for our about 60 person party! The wait and bar staff was so kind and helpful as well!! Everyone had a fantastic time and my parents had a retirement party to remember! Additional bonus was how convincing the host was about bringing us to our table (grabbing 6 menus and then going to check that our table was ready), my parents were clueless that there was a party for them until the second the doors opened!“
