“Great experience. Came for weekday brunch and ordered the marshmallow pancakes. My friend ordered one of their avocado toasts which was delicious. The marshmallow pancakes were good although I wish there were mini marshmallows throughout rather than just some large ones. Waitress was good at discussing some specials and recommended new items. Service was fast and they were very clean. Highly recommend. Parking lot available in the back. Prices are standard LI diner prices.“
“Always satisfied at this diner. Irish breakfast is a large serving, good for 2 people really- has black and white pudding, beans, ham with cooked tomatoes. Breakfast specials come with a small glass of juice, good prices. Mykonos omelette had chunks of feta with tomatoes. 2 eggs with meat is perfect serving size. The place is clean, clean restrooms. Food came out quickly. Service, during our most recent visit, is friendler than the last one. Meter parking in the area charges $0.25 for 1/2 hr.“
“Excellent service however to the owners please put a lock on the ladies bathroom as it is only meant for one lady to use at a time. The bathroom stall has a big opening where if anyone enters into the bathroom you are exposed. Your every private part and what you are wiping is exposed. Unacceptable. Do something about this. The woman who work there why haven’t you complained! I see you use it also?“
“This place was SO good I am writing this review in the car right after having bfast. Unexpected surprise but so worth it. We had avocado toast, shrimp and grits, and corned beef hash all was extremely delicious…down to my hot chocolate. We will definitely be coming back to this place. Easily one of the BEST diner breakfast’s we’ve ever had! With IMPECCABLE service from waitress Nicole, give her a raise because she adds spark to this place.“

“I've been coming here for more than I want to admit and makes me feel old. I'm going to keep this very honest in respect to using common sense/speculation/as well as responding to some of the comments on here. We haven't been there in quite some time...surprised to see the place redecorated. My wife loved it...I understand it. I'm one of those people that walk into a pizzeria and see faded red Formica tables, benches and dated dingy decor as a good thing. I was never bothered by aesthetics as it seems seasoned and perfected like the food im about to indulge in. The old international cafe had a plethora of food, nothing that wow'd you BUT was consistently good even though they had a great variety. The freshly made waffles, variety of gelato and fresh whip cream needs no review. People who complain about noise should just stay home with their mask on. You are talking about an open place restaurant that is a staple of a community for decades. Why in 2024 are people so miserable to see others so happy. Place is jammed back...what do you expect it to sound like? People complaining about kids are the same $hit parents who rather hand their kid a iPad instead of letting them socialize. When we go there we expect it to be busy, loud, kids be kids, great food, great service and pay cash. With new owner ship comes many things and one them was the menu. We were thrown off since we were expecting our usual order. A lot of their items on the menu can be easily replicated at home. When we go out to eat we only order what we don't make for the most part. My wife ordered their Chicken Tenders which was made fresh as they were chicken cutlets cut down. I thought it was OK my wife was not happy bc the crispy bread outside came off the chicken itself. We also got wings and beer battered onion rings. Onion rings were great and wings are wings. We don't deep fry in the house for many reasons...we never ordered anything deep fried at the old spot either. Got their loaded potato skins which my wife enjoyed as well. Reviews about the new whip cream being OFF in taste is correct. Gelato tasted the same to us which was good. Price seemed fair for what we got compared to others places we have gone too. “It tastes of nostalgia and bad coffee...Upon entering the Golden Reef just the other night i realized just how long its been since i had last been here.Many of us have spent many late nights/early mornings here due to lack of choice at 4AM, and the bars closing down. But my old @$$ went at a more "reasonable" 9 o'clock this night. My fiance ordered a bunch of breakfast foods while i just ordered a few sides.Do NOT underestimate their huge plate of fries with melted mozzarella and side of brown gravy. “I have been coming here for years atleast 15 years. I absolutely love and adore Lilly. She is who keeps me coming back. The food is iffy but her service is amazing. The owner is rude and disgruntled and doesn’t have a smile, happy bone or thank you in his body but he watches that register like a hawk. I go in once a week, get the cheers hello, greet Lilly and she just brings me my order which never changes. It’s a home away from home but if she was to ever leave so would I.“

“Just went for the first time in December, but I've been there 3 times since. Easily my new favorite diner the food is really good and the service is great as well. According to my 6 year old son, it's a 5 star restaurant because he loves the bacon! I do agree, though it's a very nice little diner. Excellent burgers and French toast, fresh black and white cookies for dessert and great milkshakes!“
