“Great place for beer and food. The bartenders are always so friendly and welcoming. Anything on their food menu is solid but we go there for the fried chicken sandwich, can't beat it. They have a nice selection of beer but we go for the Kilkenny because this is the only place so far we have found in the city that serves it.“
“Overall rating: 5I love this spot. I've been here a few times, with friends, with dates, by myself. I love it! It can be a little crammed on popular days, but it gives me the homey feeling every time. I recently found out they play blue grass on Mondays and it's so fun. I love folksy music. The salad was surprisingly very good. The bartenders are so nice and I really just enjoy this place so much. Highly recommend if you live in the folksy, hippy, chill energy.“
“A very unique yet emotional experience in a pub. We didn’t know the history with the building until we got seated and talked with Mike(?), who I believe is the owner or manager at the least. He sat with us and explained the patches all over the walls, how pre-9/11 O’Hara’s was a common hangout for the firefighters from firehouse 10, showed us personal pictures, and how they rebuilt after the attacks. Probably one of my favorite places we’ve been after living here for a few months. Definitely worth the trip over if you’re going to the memorial and museum!“
“Zo teleurgesteld.
“Went there on a rainy Sunday night with a few friends. Needed a wheelchair friendly place to eat some yummy food. (Able to enter, sit, and use bathroom with manual chair with no issues.) Very pleased! Didn't have many entrees on the menu that night, but knew this going in. We had previously called to check on the access. Wonderfully surprised by the delicious scones and garlic mushroom w/parmesan appetizer! Didn't know they were famous for their scones but I def know why now! We ordered entrees of baked cod, chicken curry, and Shepard's pie as well as two rounds of Guinness. When we left for the night we asked if they had any scones to go and brought some home for breakfast. The staff was welcoming, kind, and informative. My only slight negative was that my friends were a little chilly at first, but with the stairwell door closed afterwards, everything was better. We even were able to find a parking spot right outside. Although I suspect that was pure luck. Plan to return next time I am in the area. Thank you!“
“You would be making a mistake by not coming to this pub. Jade was by far one of the best bartenders I’ve ever experienced in my life. The level of service, atmosphere, and quality of drink was perfect. She genuinely made me feel at home and like a regular on my first visit. I can’t praise this establishment enough and look forward to my next pint there.“
“Did a solo trip in NYC this weekend. Stopped at the Empire State Building and just started walking in hopes of finding somewhere cool. Heard cheers and laughter coming from this place so I decided to come check it out: it was more than I was hoping for! The atmosphere was so fun, bartenders were BUSY but attentive to me, music playlist was fabulous & I loved scream singing with the crowd :) definitely check this spot out, I wish I lived in NYC cause that would be my spot without a doubt!!! :)“
“Why would yelp say Leif is closed? Shows youre as useless as teats on a bull yelp. Great bar, amazing bands like the Electrics, Hellor High Water, Bill Kirchen, Panama Dead, Headin South, Rock Farm, Mike Falsarano....This is South Brooklyns best music bar, with a large backroom and outdoir area attached. Closed my Irish butt.“
“I absolutely loved this bar. The owner, Geordie, was amazing. My friend and I went in and were immediately treated like friends, and that doesn't always happen in neighborhood bars. The decorations were great. They have a pool table and a dart board. The prices are amazing. The atmosphere is laid back. They also have a Jukebox with a lot of good songs. I can't wait to go back.“
“I was extremely surprised at this venue.it is not one for fancy decor, however the food was excellent, and had many options, they also have a full bar, friendly service and excellent pricesFood Rating sign was an "A"It is a hidden gem on FreshPond Rd.,MASPETH.“
“We chose the perfect time. Fire was crackling in the fire place, two other people in the dining room. No sound from the TV. Food came fast enough that we did not feel rushed. Excellent. Donovan's is always good.Wheelchair accessibility: There are ramps and wheel chair accessible bathrooms.“
“This is a FABULOUS Irish bar! It's dark inside, authentic and just the place to feel at home especially for pond jumpers! Our server was down to earth, helpful and kept the drinks flowing for us! We had a late dinner here too but I forgot to take photos (sorry, we got into the city late after a long flight - I did manage to grab a photo of the outside the next day!) I had the chicken curry with fries and rice and it was very good. This place stays open until the early hours so it's the perfect spot to bed in and chill for the night with friends/family. Highly recommended for a chill vibe!“
“Completely unexpected! Many years ago stepped in unknowingly of their history and was greeted by Jimmy and you felt known even though it was my first visit. Sat at bar and staff was so attentive. Food was incredible! Second visit… was like how I imagine walking into to “Cheers” would have been. Everyone remembered even though months went by! A rare gem in NYC and worth a visit for the amazing food, warm and meaningful hospitality and connections! Became a regular and will always be a stop after leaving NYC on my visits !“
“Eugene and Will are the best bartenders in the city! I couldn’t recommend anywhere else for better Guinness, live music, and the craic! Eugene has a special talent for pouring the perfect pint of Guinness. Call in if you’re ever in the mood for a pint and Irish trad music!“
“Great Irish pub with friendly staff and delicious food. They pay attention to the details like matching the branded glasses with the right beers. Service was very quick even though it was wall to wall busy since it’s a popular place. If you’re lucky you’ll get to meet Maggie herself!“
“Good Irish Breakfast, despite the lack of puddings and the distinctly non-Irish bacon. Good Scotch eggs, too, and pretty good prices. Lovely old space, with plenty of room. But the highlight was our waiter, Pete - a lovely guy.Parking: It's on 11th & 46th, so I'd imagine the parking around there isn't too bad.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of room, highchairsWheelchair accessibility: All one level and no steps“
“I grew up in Astoria and have moved to FL unfortunately. since The Brewery opened, that's my number one spot to come back to Everytime I come up and visit my grandfather Gerd. If Patrick and staff read this ,they know my grandfather very well.you all are like family to him and have a great establishment and the ABSOLUTE BEST FOOD. Everyone I recommend to got here say the same thing.BEST SHEPHERD PIE AND WINGS IN THE WORLD.thank you Patrick for opening this amazing establishment and for being such a kind and friendly host to everyone who walks in.and Marissa is above and beyond as well. ❤️ “
“We come to Clonard when we are in the mood for the perfect pint of Guinness. We usually order the full Irish but today decided to try the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich. I never knew a grilled chicken sandwich could taste this good. Their food is always delicious. Highly recommend.“
“Sissy McGintys is awesome!!! Maria and John the owner are fantastic. John took the time to come and talk to us and Maria was on point with the drinks and chat all night. Couldn’t recommend this place enough to have a fantastic night out…a must visit to anyone visiting New York.“
“Irish pub? It's a rare Sunday that I had to be on the east side. After doing some emergency in-person banking, I was looking for the nearest watering hole. A quick Google search led me here. The front section was packed at 2 PM with mostly soccer fans in jerseys for the Rwanda soccer team. However, some things were interesting surprises. A bartender taking off his shirt at the request of men. Gloria Gaynor, George Michael and ABBA's Dancing Queen being played and beingsung aling too. Was this a gay bar? These are all things a gay man like myself appreciate. Bartenders were professional and pleasant. Drinks were good.“
“Good Vibe and Good People. Always positive energy while staying true to its personality over time. You get a true glimmer of local culture within the heart of 'true" South Brooklyn when you enter. That local sense of cool you can't describe in words.“
“I've been to several happy hours at Daly's and have always enjoyed it. There are definitely many regulars who come here but I've always felt welcome as an occasional. There's a nice outdoor area that is great for pleasant weather. Plenty of tvs to watch the games too.“
“First time in a pub and first time watching a rugby game, I wasn't feeling well, so I ordered the chicken soup. It was so delicious, reminded me of my grandma's soup. My daughter ordered the Buffalo wings and a chicken sandwich, which she enjoyed. We also tried the pork sliders tasty but super salty. We will definitely eat here again.“
“The Tavern is an Astoria classic, a warm, friendly bar that's always a pleasure to stop by. Marc is the man, if he's working, he's my favorite bartender in Queens. I miss the barrel of peanuts from before 2020, not sure if they'll come back, but it is what it is. I have many great memories of trivia nights, watching sports, and St Patrick's Days here, and I hope they're here for many years to come. A proper Guinness pour too!“
“I've been coming to the Quays for over 10 years, and it just keeps getting better. Every time you come, it's like a family get-together. The owner is amazing, staff is great, and the regulars, well, they just make the place. If you're in Astoria, definitely pop in. You're in for a great time!“
“This is a great little spot with reasonable prices. I have not tried the food, but it's been one of my go-to spots during my last couple of visits to NYC.Last summer it was my 21-year-old daughter's first Irish Pub. She loved it too.“
“Had a brilliant night here last night, good drinks and friendly bar staff. Lovely atmosphere apart from the family of irish gypsies that were constantly yelling in what I presume is some dialect of an early primative celtic language, it was difficult to decipher but i believe they were saying "up degans"??? I am not sure of the context but i believe it was some form of a battle cry, similar to how the maori people perform the 'haka' before going into battle.Other than that i highly enjoyed my visit and i hope to be back soon. Kudos to the bartender Jensen who was excellent all night.“
“I was in town for New York for a couple of days. It was raining. This place was so awesome. It reminded me of my dive bars in Miami. The service was night. The regular patrons I met, were super nice. Awesome place if you're in New York!!! Loved it!!!“
“They make you feel like family once you put your foot in the door!We had blackened cod and fish and chips. They were prepared perfect. We had great drinks, especially the irish coffee!!Vegetarian options: Several, such as cauliflower bites and veggie burgers“
“A warm inviting Irish bar with- surprise! A beautiful stage set up with wonderful sound man and of course-Sunday nights the treat is seeing legendary music promoter FRANK WOOD work his magic.Another surprise - the bar regulars actually come to the back room to listen to the music! Friendly crowd , nice bartenders, generous drinks! Easily accessible from R train- come visit this gem of a bar!“
“Best pint of Guinness in Brooklyn! The bartender Paddy (not the same one on the awning) is friendly and remembered my wife's order, she having only been there one other time before. The second Wednesday of every month is the Conradh na Gaeilge session, so if you've got some Irish or like trad tunes, or both, bígí linn (join us) for some good craic!“
“Jack Jones is hands down my favorite neighborhood spot, and that's saying something because we're surrounded by great food options. Whether it's a cozy date night or a lively gathering with friends, the vibe at Jack Jones is always just right. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. I've tried numerous dishes here, and I can honestly say I've enjoyed every single one – I've never been disappointed. It's become my go-to place to bring friends and family when they're in the area because I know everyone will have a fantastic time. Jack Jones truly embodies everything I love about dining out: great food, great ambiance, and great service.“
“Stopped in for a couple of drinks while headed to the subway, super glad I did! The bartender was amazing and went out of his way to take care of us. Clean and comfortable traditional Irish pub with plenty of TVs to catch the game. Highly recommend.“
“A wonderful place and ambience for relaxation and a good drop of a large selection of beer. The staff is warm and welcoming. I recommend this place for everyone, especially for fans of American football and fans of the Las Vegas Raiders. Every time I come to New York, I make sure to visit this place.“
“Although I like the old time feel, the interior furniture needs a reboot in my opinion with better lighting. In the modern era designs and seating need to be more functional. I had a cheeseburger deluxe with chicken rice soup which was delicious as usual. The waitress has been there for many years and was very helpful. I love the sign out front--a reliable Irish pub is always great.“
“Great dive bar right next to the 30th St subway stop. When my friends and I noticed they had $3 PBRs, we were sold. Bartender also gave us a buyback on our 3rd beer! Too bad they didn't serve any food though. Very mixed crowd of all ages. They have bands on weekends sometimes and I noticed they had a sign indicating live Bluegrass Sundays. If they ever got a jukebox that only played Irish and bluegrass music, then I would give them 5 stars. But, had to take away a star for the crappy music some people were playing on the jukebox.“
“I absolutely love it here. The staff are very friendly. The food is exceptional and the range of drinks available is awesome. I'm sad that I'll be heading back home to Australia. If Iived in New York this would definitely be my local drinking establishment. I can't recommend it highly “
“Hearing PJ Horgan's was reopening with new management, my wife & I went the evening it opened. Nice experience. I had a very tasty hamburger & french fries & the fries were REAL, not from a frozen package. My wife had devil eggs, also quite tasty, I had 1 of them. The crowd was diverse in terms of age & race, nice change from the usual. The inviting setting also included a varied playlist of music. One Dad with a young child left as there was no kid's menu, but he could've given the little boy some of his meal. I hope Horgan's will eventually have different kinds of live music, but avoid trivia nights. All in all, a nice evening & we'll be back.John“
“We've just had some food and drink at Scallywags, and what can I say - wow, wow, wow!!I have never ever received such a genuinely warm welcome from the two lovely Irish ladies who were very friendly, courteous, efficient and went out of their way to engage with us as we had just arrived from Scotland this afternoon on our visit to New York. They even loaned us an umbrella since it was meant to rain the following day.The food was fantastic, the drink was good, and it was decorated in an authentic Irish theme throughout.Would highly recommend!“
“Each time 1walk in to this place, in Bakersfield is a lot of people but with a wonderful atmosphere. I remember going there one Patrick's Day, the whole place was filled with people shoulder to shoulder it was great. Recently I went back and it was a slow night and for the first time I saw what the place really look like I couldn't see it before cuz of the crowd of people or should I say see of people which is bigger.I think you'll love it there.( parking is a little bit of a headache, if possible just take an Uber or whatever you feel comfortable with. )“
“I visited this bar on a weekend night for a pint. The place has a strong pub atmosphere, with exposed wood and Irish signage. There was a person doing live music in the corner who was great. The bartenders were attentive and quick to serve. Overall I had a great time here.“
“My flight ar LaGuardia was canceled so I got a hotel in queens. I went to Cortland Ale house where Sined was minding the stick and poured me a fantastic pint. I asked her if they served food and she said no but recommended the tacos sin tequila. She said the food was great and I have to agree. She had a great personality and warm smile. The people were friendly and welcoming. It is a great place to relax with a great atmosphere.“
“M J Smith's is a hidden gem in New York. It's got a very Irish pubby feel with alcohol that doesnt break your bank. The wait staff is professional and friendly. The wait time is quick and the alcohol is tasty. They have a wide variety to boot and there's a lot of space. Price is better than most of the inner city.A must see in New York.Vegetarian options: All dishes can either be substituted or changes for your convenience.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian options exsist. Along with Keto.Wheelchair accessibility: Both the front door and bathroom are wheelchair accessible.“
“This is such a cute little Irish pub on Broadway and 32st.We came here on thirsty Thursday for our after party to do a pre St Patrick's Day celebration. We were happy the seating arrangement around the bar is huge and it wasn't really a packed night. Our bartender was so nice! We ordered a whiskey/ginger ale and a coke. Both drinks were only $10. They decor was nice set up so there is no doubt this place was packed this weekend. We will definitely be back in the spring to have a drink and maybe some appetizers too this time!See you soon!“
“P.J. Carney's is a nice little pub right off 7th Avenue and Central Park South. The location of this establishment is fantastic, and my veggie and grilled chicken salad was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it here if you're looking for a nice pub atmosphere near Central Park.“
“This place is a nice Irish pub! ?? The Long Hall Pub in Murray Hill ? is a wonderful spot to grab beer ?, watch ? a game ?, and socialize! They have a large selection of beers ? and lots of indoor seating. I wish I knew about this place sooner!“
“Absolute banger of a time in here. Went with my wife, her friend and my kid. Food was on point, Steak and Guinness just like back home. Mashed tatties that were actually seasoned! Wife's Vegetarian burger got a big thumbs up for not being overly greasy or dry, just right. Very Kid friendly too. Very gratifying to see a kid's menu option that was actually the same food as the adults just pared down for little ones. Would strongly recommend. Also don't sleep on the wee shoppe at the door, cracking selection of UK/Irish faire.PS Also if your craving "Irish/UK" style Chinese curry (If you know, you know) this is the only place I've found in Jersey that can do it.Vegetarian options: Bean Burger made in house. Great texture and very generous portion.Kid-friendliness: Lot's of Kids in. Waiting staff were very friendly and accommodating. Talked to my kid to take order instead of ignoring them. Kid's menu isn't frozen afterthought, actually same stuff as adults.“
“After watching a college basketball game, we went to this local bar/ pub that I had visited before and I was not disappointed. There were patrons who knew each other and were actually pleased to see each other sort of like the series Cheers only better. The ambiance, food, drinks, and music was just right to enjoy the afternoon . Our server was friendly and professional. I will definitely be coming back.“
“I have come here so many times and Amanda has been the best waitress I’ve had in so long. She’s sweet, attentive, and makes us feel like VIP even when it’s packed and she can barely weave through the the crowd. Never had a bad experience with any staff, but we come back to see her she makes our experience more enjoyable and like we are at home. Love this bar (and Amanda) so much!“
“Very cool pub with a nice variety of beers. The patrons were kind and Rachel was especially engaging and welcoming. Very relaxing atmosphere; I enjoyed the outside area as well. I highly recommend all stop in, and I will definitely return when next in Maspeth.“
