Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. All in all we had a nice dinner and will maybe return for another meal.“

“Excellent quality food, generous portions at reasonable prices! From the outside, this place looks like a plain-looking slice shop, but it is so much more than that. The service is friendlier than you normally would expect at a place like this, and they even packed up the leftovers for us. That's always a plus in terms of service. I had the fettuccine carbonara, which was certainly above average in quality. I find that carbonara is a difficult and unusual dish to make, so it's a good way to test an Italian restaurant. This place certainly passed the carbonara test. The portion size was absolutely enormous! It was better than the carbonara I had at a certain Michelin-starred restaurant in New Rochelle! I also had the opportunity to taste the fagioli soup, spinach pizza, and eggplant pizza. Everything was delicious. All of this, and the bill was under $50, with the tip included. Can't beat that.“

Each were scrumptious. I had the braised beef as my main course which was moist, delicious, and just the right portion. We shared churros for dessert, which were light, crunchy, and simply divine. Upon entering we were warmly greeted and taken care of the entire time. We began with Sonoma Saint Francis Chardonnay, with a splendid array of plump East Coast Oysters, an order of delicious Oysters Rockefeller, and hubs enjoyed his yummy New England clam chowder as he did in 2019. Entrees of: Blackened Tuna with Lime sauce, a silky Grilled Salmon Filet Beurre Blanc with pearls of Salmon Roe, and a large Caesar Salad with grilled Chicken strips. The owner was the chef, his wife and daughter the servers. Food was really good. We started with the guacamole and we ordered the mussels. The chef came out and said the mussels came in a little small today and asked if we would like the clams instead. We said why not. The broth in this clam dish was fantastic. Then he came back out and asked if we want to try his carrot soup. One of the best soups I've literally ever had. Then we finished with steak fajitas and the flautas. Both great dishes. They were really friendly and nice people. We really appreciated their service and kindness. Also don't forget to get the red sangria it's amazing.“

“Besides the City Island "classics", newish Seafood Kingz is poppin. Black-owned restaurants don't span the width in the area- so this Seafood+Southern spot is all the rage. Plus this place comes highly recommended as our friend's daughter invited us to celebrate her dad's b'day- and it's his favorite restaurant. I'm not the best Southern food judge because I don't eat poultry, pork, beef, collards traditionally made with smoked meat or things like that- but the reviews about Kingz, was all we needed. Enough said. Kingz layout is rectangular with the bar to the left, tables when you soon walk in and booths up the steps in the back. Walls are done in royal blue and the music is a nice mix of R&B classics, Sade, etc. Service was patient and we didn't feel rushed. Aside from the 2, 3 or 4 fried chicken items on the menu, Kingz focuses on seafood and serves Southern comfort sides such as yams, potato salad, rice mixed with beans, etc. Some of the standout dishes include Fried Catfish and shrimp dinner, Shrimp & Chips. Hell, for me, all the seafood sounds stellar. As was my steamed Salmon and Broccoli. The result was spectacular: perfectly cooked salmon that is tender, moist, and flavor-packed with just the right amount of Old Bay and hubs enjoyed his fried catfish and shrimp in all its glory. And by the way, portions are big. These folks have achieved a crispy battered coating without allowing the inside of the fish to become dry. It was perfection. Kingz has a strong following and we can see why.“

My deep fried whole fish took another 10 minutes and when it arrived it WAS FROZEN under the “crispy skin”. THEY USE FROZEN FISH!?!? I suppose the fish in the tank are for show!! My husband had bbq chicken and ribs and it was half a chicken and huge ribs. My daughter got pasta w shrimp and scallops in a light cream sauce. My brother in law had jambalaya with crab and huge portion. My sister had tuna and it was cooked perfectly. We all have at least one meal, maybe two to bring home. They served mushrooms, roasted red peppers, olives and cheese before the meal. Then a salad. Very good meal but the meals cost between 35 and 50+ per person. Special occasion restaurant.“
