Tacos Gloria Fast Food • $

“I'm surprised this spot has bad reviews. I love the quesadillas here. They have so many options and you can ask to customize them as well. We love jalapeño with cheese topped with sour cream, cheese and lettuce. My parents love this spot too because the food is authentic and not too greasy. Also, if you like spicy food, try their red sauce, it's soo good.“

“Went to Gordo's, got the mole negro, asada tacos and chorizo quesadilla with several drinks and had a great time. The chorizo quesadilla was by-far the fav out of what my friend and I ordered. Their quesadillas are served open-faced, featuring seared cheese and meat and are definitely the most unique, expressive item they have on the menu. The chorizo is well-seasoned and charred to perfection. Will strongly rec this to anyone wanting to know what's worth their time and money on the menu. The mole negro was also good. The sauce is the star of the show; it's flavorful, rich and generously applied to the chicken enchiladas. The tortillas and chicken on their own are mild but that's okay because they're a canvas for this absolutely fire mole sauce. Would also recommend this. The asada tacos are good but I wouldn't get them again. They felt pretty standard; like something I could get from a birria taco truck for a lil bit less but hey, you're also paying for vibes and service.Speaking of, our server was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. All of her recommendations delivered.Drinks were strong. Wished I skipped the michelada my first round and went straight for the margaritas, which had a generous pour.Check it out. Def worth the visit.“

“Here's my honest opinion! If you're thinking about it - just do it like Nike said. Okay now let's get to the point I ordered the following 1. Guac & Chips - 4/5 Guac tasted fresh and had good chunks but needed more flava, the Chips are homemade and super crispy (i loved it) 2. Carne Asada Taco - 4/5 Tasty soft tortilla, tender juicy steak that lacked some flavor but the freshness of the onion, cilantro and lime with the red and green spicy sauce helped. Horchata 3/5 It's a milky rice drink with a nice cinnamon flavor and a touch of sweetness was refreshing but had some starchy thing at the bottom that made it hard to drink. Now the Best thing I ate was the Chicken Mole Tamale and Adobo Pork Tamale 5/5 my mouth is just salivating as I'm thinking about it. The Mole was sweet and savory and the pork was nice and tender, the Adobo Pork was also good! I am definitely going back tomorrow for more Tamales! A nice little Gem in the neighborhood.“

“¡K Rico! This was my second time coming here with my friend, who's a regular, I had the squash blossom enchiladas, ¡vegano!, I'm a vegan, they were so good. The squash blossom enchiladas were hitting! I was practically doing the yummy food dance in my chair from all the textures, unctuousness and umami it was delivering in such a delicate humble dish with it's thick wholesome sauce. We shared the chips and guac, I asked for salt, knowing from the time before that all the flavors are there, it just needs some salt, for me, to make them shine. Obviously you rather it be under salted then over, got to watch my pressure. The chips are always fresh and what you expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. To drink the waitress recommended the spicy passion fruit margarita and it was so deliciously well-balanced with sweet, spicy and tart, that I made my friend try it and she agreed. Tía behind the bar is a Queen mixologist. The energy here is grounding, the set up is simple allowing the experience to shine. Everyone working there seems to be from Latin American, it does feel like a home kitchen restaurant. As opposed to other "authentic Mexican" places you may go in NYC where the staff are cold hipsters, the owners are wealthy investors and the chef is Indian. There's actual Mexican people chilling here. The food doesn't always come out fast, so go with people you like; don't kill the vibe. The first time I dinned here, I got the nopales tacos. They were good, I just don't think I appreciated it as much, because a month before that I had nopales tacos grilled over fire along with spring onion, topped with fresh salsas, with the grilled tortilla in the backyard of my Mexican friend's bike shop for his birthday. With a michelada! Nothing is really going to top that nopales experience. But I do recommend the nopales tacos here, I know it's hard to get that outside fire grill on food in New York indoor dining, but that flavors were good and the texture was right. If you've made it to the end of this review, congratulations, you're probably very hungry and you should just go eat at Martha's concina.Vegetarian options: I'm vegan and I was able to enjoy different plates on the separate occasions I went. Vegan dishes are clearly marked and the wait staff is knowledgeable. The Vegan/veg options are well orchestrated full meals, made from natural whole foods with developed flavors.“

Guacamole

“This is my first Yelp review ever but this modest little restaurant deserves it. Not only is the food surprisingly delicious but the owners and staff are warm, welcoming and generous. They always offer something while waiting for take out and when eating in they take the time to talk to you and make you feel part of things. They even remember me from one visit to another which is something I never experienced before. I fully recommend. Everything is good but we particularly love the Burria tacos only served on weekends as well as the specials they offer which are always .. well... special!“

“Went here for dinner and would definitely recommend.Upon entering Tia Eli's there was a vibrant atmosphere. We loved the music and the walls were painted with a beautiful mural. The staff were so kind and welcoming, made us feel right at home :)We were blown away by how fresh and flavorful all of the food was! To drink we had horchata and coffee. The horchata was very rich and a large portion - not watered down and well worth the price. The coffee was freshly made and hot - it came in the CUTEST mug, To start we ordered chips and guacamole. The chips were freshly made, they were so crisp and light - loved em! The guacamole was made to order and was so freakin delicious! We also ordered the large tacos. The tacos were on freshly made corn tortillas and came with a spicy salsa as well as a vibrant salsa verde. We tried pollo, al pastor and birria tacos. The pollo was very tender and flavorful. The al pastor was a PERFECT mix of tangy and smoky - cooked to perfection! The birria taco is worth all of the hype! It has a crisp outer tortilla and a soft inner tortilla, with cheese melted in between. Then there was more cheese and birria in the taco - a truly insanely delicious taco!!! We also ordered some rice and beans on the side - the beans were soooo yummy and the rice was pretty solid. If you are in the neighborhood come check it out, you will not regret it! I will be coming back!“

“Just Halal Fusion is a win/win for the local community and the consumer. The food is made with great care using high quality fresh ingredients and the highest standard of handling practices. The quality of the food, quantity, price, and highly varied selection translates to tremendous value for the customer. Not many establishments in the area are able to check all of these boxes. My whole family and many of my friends frequent this restaurant many times a week for this reason. All of their offerings are the perfect combination of delicious, affordable, and filling. The food preparers will always make your food exactly to your request and will quickly remedy any mishaps. The restaurant is always kept clean and all staff are extremely courteous. I couldn't recommend Just Halal and their wide array of tasty options enough. From Quesadillas to Kebabs, you will not be disappointed.Parking: Free parking allowed at the strip mall across the street.Kid-friendliness: Options for kids (kid-sized meals and beverages)“

“I love the fact that they have a plant based option and have not excluded those of us that do not eat meat or too much dairy. They’re Beyond meat quesadillas and Zucchini quesadillas, tostones, yellow rice are absolutely delicious! They also substitute any regular meat on burritos for plant based meat. The waiters are friendly and get to know their regular customers. Overall it’s a family friendly atmosphere with salsa and bachata tunes that make you want to get up and dance! The cocktail’s have a great presentation. We look forward to eating at Casa Margaritas every time we get a chance to enjoy dinner at this little gem. Thank you Juan and all the waiters ❤️“
