“We ordered takeout on Christmas (no table service this evening). The menu was large and had a good amount of variety. Food was ready in under 20 minutes. We liked the mooshu pork, though I wish there had been more pancakes. We also liked the pepper pork, which had a little kick. Fried rice, scallion pancakes, and pork dumplings were standard and solid. There's also a sushi menu, including a cute part of the restaurant with a small communal table with a view of the sushi counter. I'd love to try it sometime.“

“I've been going to HDL consistently for 2 years now and it's still one of my favorite hotpot places in nyc. In terms of cleanliness, service and food quality it is top notch. In terms of price it is on the pricier side ($50-$75pp). The servers are very attentive and offer to make you a soup and dipping sauce. I always leave feeling full and satisfied. The Chinese opera show, dancing noodle and birthday singing also make the dining experience more fun and memorable.Parking: Paid parking lot“

“I very much enjoyed my experience here. The drinks are very good. I had a strawberries and cream drink and it taste just like a strawberry milkshake yogurt. I really enjoyed it. The meat was very good and seasoned well. They were different options In regards to waiting there was a big wait the food came very fast. Appetizers were delicious and the service was very good and the waiters were very attentive and helpful and mindful if they see that you have a little bit of issues in regards to cooking so they will for sure be more than happy to help you will come again. This was my second time and the third time I know will be maybe even better.“

“I was in New York City to visit my parents in January 2024. Obviously, I then had to meet up with close friends that I don't normally get to see every day. One of my foodie friends and I decided to meet up. We always try to go to a new place that we both haven't tried - and we ended up here at Cheli. Cheli is a Chinese Restaurant (specifically Shanghainese) located in East Village (Manhattan) and Flushing (Queens). My friend, his girlfriend, and I went to the Flushing Location. According to their website, Che Li presents a distinctive dining experience, weaving together the rich tapestry of Song Dynasty banquet culture with the authentic and sophisticated flavors of Shanghai cuisine. Their culinary philosophy is deeply rooted in the heritage of Jiangnan--a region known for its delicate beauty, culinary finesse, and the origin of Shanghai's gastronomic excellence. Characterized by its subtle yet profound flavors, meticulous preparation, and elegant presentation, their cuisine pays tribute to this heritage while celebrating the refined communal spirit of Song Dynasty feasts. We were all super excited to try! Between the 3 of us, we tried the following: - Wine Soaked Chicken - Crab Meat and Pork Soup Dumplings - Sweet and Sour Crispy Eel - Nine Spiced Rabbit - Hot Stone Braised Rice (mushroom) - Sauteed Water Spinach - Black Sesame Sticky Rice Balls - Rose Lemonade Super fun and feels like an authentic experience. My friend had to order in Chinese - and I obviously pointed to the menu to order since my Chinese skills are limited. Never been to China but I would imagine the decor is pretty representative. Food, service, ambiance were A+. ENJOY!!“

“Although our service was not good (our waiter insisted that we ordered too much and asked us to reduce the number of items!, it was just the 2 of us, but really? We ended up finishing everything), but still, the food was phenomenal. The flavor of the spicy sauce was the best I’ve ever had. They stir-fry rice was also the best fried rice you will ever taste. Although you need to wait a while to be seated and your service might be a hit or a miss. Would recommend this (10/10) to all hot pot lovers and to anyone who enjoys the taste of aromatic spices rather than just spicy food.“

“The sky was grey, the day chilly, my stomach begging for something filling and warm. We walked past this place and oh did the fragrance of the soups beckon! It was love at first sip. Simple and plain. The wife got the chicken and fish maw special, I the bone soup with beef.Is it the best around? No. Is it the cheapest around? No. But I don't think you can get such nice soups and serving sizes at this price range anywhere else.Give it a try, I didn't regret it.“

“The boss is very nice. He is very particular about the selection of store managers. The fish tastes great. Sometimes there is no fish when I come here. This means the ingredients are fresh enough. I deserve the good business. I come here to eat when I don’t want to go to Flushing. Highly recommended.“

“The service was top notch! Came on a Saturday for lunch and it was surprisingly not too crowded. All the dishes were super authentic Beijing cuisine. If you get the duck set, they would offer to either deep fry the carcass or make it into a porridge. We picked deep fry and loved it. The desserts also all look cute and interesting while tasting great. We were trying to hit the minimum for special seating, but the portion was very decent, so we took home enough leftovers for a second meal.“

“Came here on a Saturday for dinner without a reservation and the place is pretty spacious so we got seated right away. It's located kind of away from flushing proper so the restaurant itself is pretty big unlike some of the more cramped spots. The food was pretty good honestly, you can tell it's very genuine Szechuan style cooking. We had the spicy beef and string beans they were both so flavorful. I have never been so excited about any vegetable dishes but the beans were one of the favorite Chinese vegetable dishes ever. We also got spicy fish, the fish was fried first then put into spicy soup. The cooking style is amazing and everything was delicious. The spice they use are fresh and not too much for my taste. Our service though was a bit slow and I think at some point they forgot to make our fish and we had to ask multiple times before it finally came out. Would have been great if service was better but overall flavors are amazing and would definitely come again!“

“Had the green chili pepper fish and braise beef noodles. The fish dish has a good variety of ingredients included inside like tofu, mushroom and some veg, not sure if opting for sea bass was a good choice for us but the soup was tasty! Although it's slightly pricey, it's a huge serving. So value is good! The waiter is also attentive and helpful.Kid-friendliness: High chair and kids cutlery“

“I love good old Taiwanese breakfast on the weekends. It's totally worth getting up early for. It ends early at 11am, so don't oversleep. My favorites are the vegetarian panda fantuan, salty soybean milk, sweet soybean milk and radish pastry. It's so good. My mom said they have the best fantuan in Flushing. They also have shao bing (toasted sesame flat bread) and Dan bing (egg pancake) options for breakfast but I get the panda fantuan which is very filling. It's half purple and white rice with a fried cruller, stewed egg, and pickled radishes. I also like their oyster pancake and stinky tofu. I would like to try more dishes but usually go for the Taiwanese favorites since that's what I crave.“

“The service at this store is top-rated! They offer free snacks and kids' meals, and the quality of the meat freshness is excellent. We ordered a pot of chicken and pork stomach as soup base, and the soup is incredibly delicious with rich materials! We also chose a clear mineral water pot base, which is also very tasty and goes well with lamb rolls! The portions of beef and lamb are generous and satisfying! Highly recommended!Kid-friendliness: Yes“

“As you walk in the Restaurant, you immediately get a homey atmosphere in this place! The food was served very quickly. The Authentic Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup is excellent as the broth is very thick and flavorful. The beef that they use is half tendon half meat, which is the best combo that a merchant can use when preparing this dish! Overall, the food is excellent! I would definitely come back again! As a bonus, their pickled cabbage and peanuts side dish are excellent too!“

“Liuyishou Hot Pot is a pretty laid back spot for some really good hot pot options. They have many meats and vegetables as well as different kinds of soups to try for your pot(s). This restaurant also has a really solid number of appetizers, snacks, and sauces you can create and plate then add to your table. A very wide selection with fried chicken, pig ear, dough with dipping sauce, etc. The hot pot was very tasty and all the meats we tried were great, and the price was not too bad either. Service was excellent.“

“If you are looking for a warm bowl of goodness on a cold day, this is where it's at. I'm a big fan of rice noodles over wheat noodles as they are lighter and doesn't put me in an instant food coma. Decided to give this place a try vs my usual spot (Ten Seconds Noodle) and it did not disappoint. In comparison, the broth felt more healthy and nutrient at Deng Ji Yun Nan with the added herbs. The menu is quite large but well presented with plenty of photos for reference. I liked how spacious the interior was with all the light wooden accents.“

“Been here a few times, and so glad that this place continues to offer Uyghur food in the heart of Flushing. Mostly have come here so far for their beef/lamb pockets in the setting of a Food Crawl and it's always an interesting fun moment for everyone. While the most recent time we went the meat was not the most tender, it's kind of like an empanada with middle eastern and Chinese flavors combined into one. It wasn't spicy at all, and the onions added a nice touch. The workers are nice and it's def worth a stop because who knows where else you'll be able to find food like this? Definitely want to come back to try the rest of their items. NYC beats other big cities in that we offer a ton of diversity, represented in our food culture and the fact that we have Uyghur food is a blessing, so take advantage of it.“

“Came on Good Friday for lunch. There was a bit of a wait and everyone needs to be check-in on a wait-list via a tablet by the entrance. I believe you can also check-in on Yelp. The place is bright and clean. They offer 2 levels of AYCE buffet. There is a basic option for $19.99 and a premium option with all the beef and seafood for about $40. You can also add on premium dish a-la-carte. Made a bad decision and got the 2 flavor soup base, the pot is very small and with a divider inside the pot, which restrain amount of food you can put in. The food bar is a bit tight to move around and you may get stuck if there is a slow mover... ordered a rib eye as add on, the slides are paper thin and you can see through them. Our waiter refill our broth frequently without been asking, which is nice. The refilling of food can be a bit slow, there are empty dishes at the food bar.“

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a hearty and satisfying meal!!!“

“First things first, keep in mind I believe that this is a Szechuan style restaurant. Every dish is spicy AF lol. The reason why I pointed that out is that if you or a guest in your party does not eat spicy foods, then you're sh!t out of luck. This means there's not even one dish that isn't spicy. One of my guests stared at the beautiful menu for like 15 straight minutes and couldn't find one thing to order. He finally decided on a chicken dish and pleaded with the server if the chef could make it non spicy. They agreed, and when the dish came, it was still spicy, lol. Anyways, the restaurant itself is beautiful and clean and the staff are friendly. Bonus: they have a nice selection of Boba teas. The prices here are not that cheap FYI.“

“I was told that I would be picked up in 30 minutes and asked for Jajangmyeon in one bag and Jjajangmyeon Sweet and Sour Pork Jjamppong in another bag, but the place that only served Jjajangmyeon put sweet and sour pork sauce in it, and the place that only served Jjajangmyeon and Sweet and Sour Pork Jjamppong gave me only two Jajangmyeon sauces. In the end, I can't even eat it and am leaving a review. I didn't order a lot, I only ordered 4 and asked for one to be wrapped separately, but...(Edited) First, one house said they would only deliver the sauce, but the other house decided that they would rather go the next day and receive credit for one jjajangmyeon. The food tastes good, so if he gets credit, I'll change it to 5 stars then.“

“I love this place!!! I haven't tried most of their menu items, but if you ask me what to get the first time coming to this place, it is definitely the Mapo Tofu. Their Mapo Tofu is DIVINE with a nice balance of flavor, heat & texture that you probably won't get anywhere else in Main Street. Then, when coming here the second time around, I would get their double cooked pork, followed by their Sichuan fried rice for a third. It is a BIT pricey but I promise you that it is worth it. Definitely check this place out when visiting Main Street Flushing.“

“Decided to grab some eats to take to the Mets Game and saw this. I'm a big Peking Duck fan, so finding a place like this stall was some place I wanted to try. It's the street take out window (see pic of it highlighting those ducks) of the full service Shanghai You Garden behind the stall. It's $2.50 per Peking Duck Baos, each with a piece of duck. I ordered two for $5. (See pic.) All I can say is, "Winner, Winner, Peking Duck Dinner!" (Or lunch!!! Or anytime!!!) My only regret was only ordering 2! Next time, as a meal or snack, I'm ordering 3! “The Lan Zhou hand pulled soup noodle perfect on a cold day. Noodles are super long and bouncy and soup is very flavorful. Was able to try a few other dishes on the menu as well and they were also great. All the lamb/muttondishes were very tender and seasoned well (on the bone and skewers), not gamey at all. The cold liang pi wasn’t seasoned as strongly so it was perfect paired with the skewers which had a ton of flavor. The plate of beef and potatoes was also very tasty, beef is very tender but recommend getting an extra order of plain noodles to mix in as the flavor is concentrated.Service was super quick and nice, answering any questions we had.“

“Talk about a different kind of fast food experience! Zhu Ji isn't like your typical restaurant. There's no actual storefront, meaning no place to sit or go inside. You order outside at the side of a building. It can be a little chaotic when ordering since pedestrians are actively walking through, but you just have to make sure to stay out of the way of the foot traffic and be assertive when you're waiting to order. A lot of locals will order and converse with the workers in Mandarin, but don't be intimidated if you don't speak the language. You can order just fine using English, and they have English on the menu next to the Chinese. I'd say just don't get too complicated with the order or your demands if you're not fluent. We ordered our food to go and only had to wait about 5 minutes to receive everything. You can't beat these prices, the speed, and the taste of Zhu Ji. I also highly recommend asking for chili oil and black vinegar, especially for the dumplings or scallion pancake. If you're looking to make a meal out of $10 in New York City, I highly recommend making a stop by Zhu Ji Dumpling House!“
