“Wu-Ron’s is just objectively the best. My wife and I go basically on a weekly basis, and this has been the case since they opened a couple years ago. Everything is super consistent, broth is always perfectly balanced. Usually, when I get ramen at various places, I can’t finish the broth because it’s too much, like the salt adds up or it just becomes too rich. Not the case at Wu-Ron’s, I always finish everything. The pork and noodles are also consistently perfect, and the family that runs it is the nicest ever. It truly feels like home, and if I move away from Portland, this is the place I will miss the most.“
“We have the impression that Japanese restaurants are expensive while not offering authentic taste, but the chef here has good taste. Lunch prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is elegant. We had the Braised Pork Belly, Tonkatsu Curry, and Bento Box (Salmon Teriyaki, California Roll, and Shrimp Tempura). Unfortunately, the shrimp tempura in the bento box was a 'deep fried shrimp' than Japanese TEMPURA, and the cutlet in the curry was disappointingly thin and lacked juiciness. Additionally, red pickled ginger is not used in Japan, as it tends to overshadow the curry's flavor. If FUKUJINZUKE, a classic curry accompaniment, is unavailable, it might be better to serve the curry without any side. (By the way, red pickled ginger makes an excellent garnish for beef bowls.??) The staff was so pleasant.?✨“
“I will have to give them a second chance. I didn't want to eat chicken, but their dishes looked good, I asked if I could swap out the chicken for prawns, the cashier suggested an option, but what I got was only rice and prawns. Disappointing.“
“I love this place. I kept telling myself for years to go there every time I was at Uwajimaya, and never got around to it. Now I'm kicking myself for having not gone sooner. The service is awesome, the ramen is delicious and I can get in and out on time for my hour long lunch and have time to spare.Parking: Shares the parking lot with Uwajimaya.Kid-friendliness: They have booster seats and high chairs!Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp outside and they have tall and shorter tables for a variety of seating.“
“I came with my parents and my brother and the staff were very polite and friendly. The robot was very cute and it was a nice surprise. The food was SO yummy and I would love to come again. My waiter was Via, she was very inviting and hard working. I very highly recommend this restaurant.Kid-friendliness: They were very child Friendly, and very sweet and kind to my little kid brother.“
“This place was delicious! Takoyaki is huuuge. We also ordered the large chashu bowl to share and I was worried that it wasn't going to be super flavorful because we forgot to add sauce, but because of the 3 additional toppings, including spicy chicken, it was perfect! Super flavorful. We also got a sake to share. And that was all plenty for us two!“
“Senyo by Ramen Ippo is the best ramen in Portland. Dice is absolutely amazing at what he does. His tan tan is incredibly well balanced. The broth is almost creamy, yet so smooth. Very satisfying on a cold, wet day.Their garden ramen is fresh, healthy. We get it a little spicy (level 3 out of 5).Go early so you can get one of his amazing eggs!Six stars out of five!“
“Delicious delicious delicious! I have become a huge fan of MiChi Japan! Ever since they opened , my family & I have returned a handful of times. I am nerved disappointed with their costumer service, food quality or atmosphere. Not to mention their amazing lunch menu! Everything about this place is amazing. They have a good variety on sushi too!“
“Baka Umai is one of my favorite ramen restaurants in Portland. The silky red tonkotsu is warm and comforting and their specials are really creative. The gyoza are a standout too but you really can't go wrong with anything.Vegetarian options: Vegan gyoza, vegan ramen“
“(4.4/5) This place slaps. Best ramen I’ve had thus far in NE Portland. Perfect spot for a rainy day. Just get yourself a bowl of noodles and a lager.I’ve had the shoyu ramen a couple times now and each time it’s been super flavorful, warm and delicious. Great prices. Make sure to check the open hours. They close and reopen on some days.“
“This is a wonderfully casual restaurant in an unexpected place. They have a small but diverse menu for all types of people. They offer a good selection of vegan and gluten free dishes. My favorite dish from this first visit was the brussel sprout salad. Cooked perfectly with just enough seasoning and a unexpected citrus twist with grapefruit segments. There's no shoyu or chili oil on the table but don't be discouraged. Everything comes perfectly seasoned and dressed. I can't wait to go back and know that my family will find something that they'll enjoy as well. Order at the counter and find a seat. They'll bus the table when you're done. Street parking only.Vegetarian options: All vegan options are labeled.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free and vegan dishes available. All are clearly labeled on the menu board.Kid-friendliness: The have a fun twist on a PBJ using a steamed bun. Soft and fluffy with no crust!“
“It is one of the best ramen you will find and at an extremely affordable price. The taste and portion are the best for the price. Accompanied by a free hot tea. The service is excellent and since it is inside an Asian supermarket you can walk around to find special things to take away.“
“This place was amazing. We had their black garlic ramen and spicy garlic ramen. It was packed with flavors and on point. . Service was fast and friendly. It is located at Pine Street Market food hall. We would recommend this place to anyone that likes being in downtown. Amazing place!“
“Paitan Red Chicken is the best bowl of ramen I’ve had in Oregon. 10/10 coming back.Spicy but not too spicy, more of a flavor than a kick.Reasonably priced (relatively speaking, many PDX places are $19-22 for a bowl of ramen). The employee was really great. I asked her opinion on two bowls and got the Paitan Red Chicken based off of her advice. Not much seating room inside, you’ll be sharing long tables with ppl - could be worse, at least we’re indoors. If it’s raining it will be packed, be prepared to sit outside. Not an issue on a sunny day though.“
“The food was really good! The service was also good everything was good. (By the ten year old). The adults enjoyed the sake and everyone enjoyed the ramen.Vegetarian options: Tofu appetizer, kimchi and cheese roll appetizer, salad appetizer, and vegetarian ramen.“
“My favorite sushi place in the area. The servers are all so sweet and the food is excellent. The ramen is amazing too, which is surprising considering ramen at sushi bars usually feels more like an afterthought. I’m a frequent customer here and I’ve yet to ever have any issues.“
“One of the best ramen experiences I have had since living in Portland. Erica, behind the counter, could not have been more amazing. Extremely accommodating and helpful. This place offers the at home atmosphere with a Japanese twist. Large portions, offers a great bang for your buck and yet still delicious. I will be back for sure.“
“I've been here twice now and the food has been consistently good. First time I got the Cali burrito which was tasty, but I do wish the fries were just a little crispier. They seemed just a little undercooked. Second time I got the super nachos with chicken and they were good. A ton of food for a good price. Service is also consistently great and I love all their salsas. Definitely want to come back and try the ramen and queso taco next time.“
“Went here for the first time this week and it was AMAZING. We came in during a week day later in the night and we practically had the place to ourselves, our waiter Karra had superb service. The food was delicious to say the least and the menu had a good variety of options to choose from. The atmosphere was also great, very calm, dim, and somewhere you can get lost talking while eating for hours. We ordered veggie ramen, hello kitty (must try), and miso soup!“
“If you want an Americanized ramen, don’t come to this place but if you want an authentic Japanese ramen this is the place. The Hakata ramen tastes like the ones from Fukuoka. Not sure why the low ratings but I am thinking it is from people that do not know what a ramen should taste like“
“First time trying the yuzu miso ramen broth. It had a subtle yuzu flavor and was perfect for a cold afternoon. The staff was friendly. Overall anytime I'm in the area and crave a quick comforting bowl of ramen, this will be my goto place.“
“I went here for the first time and got the takoyaki, currey ramen with pork and a shoyu egg, yuzu beer, and jasmine peony tea. The food was amazing and the quality exceeded my expectations. I wish I could have bought some of the tea to take home, it was so good. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!“
“I’ve been coming to this ramen house for years and a couple of things are for certain:1. The food is always yummy and consistent in flavor2. Staff is always friendly3. Atmosphere is always chill and relaxThat being said, I have noticed that portions have shrunk to a degree but other than that this place is a great location to check out when it comes to ramen ?.“
“My favorite food cart was closed today, so I tried something new, the Teppanyaki Hut. Quick and friendly service to order. Our meals were prepared quickly for a short wait. We ordered the Shrimp Tempura Bowl and a Double Dragon Sushi Burrito, Both were amazing. I highly recommend this food cart on Mississippi St.“
“I come here at least once a week, and my go-to is their yakisoba (I get it spicy). Easily my favorite place to get food in town!Parking: Sometimes it’s busy in the area, and also the spaces are really cramped.Kid-friendliness: The pavilion has seating for more people than are usually there. Tables usually have 4 seats.Wheelchair accessibility: It may be difficult to maneuver larger wheelchairs up to the window, and it’s high up.“
“I've been here twice now and the food has been consistently good. First time I got the Cali burrito which was tasty, but I do wish the fries were just a little crispier. They seemed just a little undercooked. Second time I got the super nachos with chicken and they were good. A ton of food for a good price. Service is also consistently great and I love all their salsas. Definitely want to come back and try the ramen and queso taco next time.“
“The place is in cartlandia. The entrance can be missed if not familiar with the area. Multiple outdoor seating are available. There is also indoor seating option. You’ll have to get the code from the vendor whom you bought your food. The place can get crowded during busy hours. The ramen miso broth was good. The pork content was a LOT as compared to other places that I have been to. Maybe the vendor just felt being generous when ordered.Be mindful of the birds when you sit outside. They appear to be comfortable with and tend to get too close to the food.“
“The chicken and kimchi blew us away! Crunchy, the right amount of spicy, juicy. We weren't looking for it but it found us. It's also in The Zipper, which is a great food court with lots of options and good drinks. They were really cool, highly recommend.“
“Ordered take out, it is so good!I was excited for the rice burger cause I haven’t seen that in a while! And it did not disappoint ?My personal favorite is the treasure island roll, the seared salmon sushi donut is so good too!! ?I’m ready for food coma“
“A quaint little ramen shop. Got that hole in the wall vibe. The most incredible coconut miso ramen. Everything I've tried from their menu is first rate but that ramen is on a whole other level. 12 of 10. Try this ramen. Seriously one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth.“
“We like our sushi rolls, salmon, seaweed salad, and miso soup. We would probably pass on ordering the calamari again (just too much crunchy breading to calamari meat ratio). Service was good and very friendly, but water and iced tea were not refilled. We would return again as food and friendly service were good.“
“This is a great spot! The main draw for me is the cocktails - the new bar manager has put a ton of effort and creativity into the menu, and there are a lot of amazing drinks that even the nerdiest cocktail aficionado would appreciate. I'm celiac and there is really only one option on the menu, so I don't know that I'll be back for that reason. The atmosphere is bit loud, but my husband's ramen and the drinks were fantastic.“
“Quality has declined over the years. I'm still a fan but am actively looking for a replacement. It's not a good sign when the bar staff talk negatively about the kitchen service/quality for the night. Why would I want to hear about the new cook dishing out dry and bland food as I wait for my meal? I almost canceled and walked after hearing this. I probably should've.“
“I've been a couple times with my family and it's been generally pretty good, with some dishes standing out much more than the others. Ramen has been good and filling. I was really hoping the okonomiyaki tots would have incorporated some cabbage in them, so it was a little disappointing that the only similarity to okonomiyaki was the topping. Just a missed opportunity, I suppose, to do a cabbage and potato (and green onion) tot. Service has always been top notch.“
“Delicious food! I tried multiple dishes, and every single one of them was so good! The rice bowls and ramen are a great price and will definitely fill you up! The small plates are also great appetizers such as the gyoza, which was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is very nice as well it has a great ambiance. Also the service was super quick! We got our food within 5 minutes of ordering and they were so fresh and so good!“
“The soup’s always amazing. Great service. I usually enjoy their food in Beaverton, this first time to try at downtown after we spent time the first day of Lunar New Year in China town and i was surprised that they have vegan ramen. It’s totally awesome!Parking: There’s a parking lot opposite restaurant with fee.Kid-friendliness: My daughters enjoy their menu and they totally want to get back again.“
“Best Bulgogi around!!The bulgogi rice is incredible! The portion is perfect and the price is incredibly reasonable! The sliced avocado and ginger that come with it are such a great pairing.I've had the ramen before and it is decent enough, but it's the bulgogi rice for me! I get it a few times a month.Charming interior, great mood lighting, friendly chill staff, in a cute part of Sellwood. 5 stars, love you Nama!Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian main and side dishes.“
“I ordered my food on doordash. It's really delicious! The broth is so rich and creamy, the noodles aren't too thick nor too thin. The karaage wasn't hard at all like at other places, and it was very juicy!! Now what's left is for the in-person experience “
“The service was excellent. I was practically the only person there. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere was not warm. But it's a cold blustery day and the door was a little drafty. It'd be nice if there was some kind of heat source inside here to make it feel cozy. I know that's difficult with an open kitchen because it might be an overheating for the cooks. In terms of the ramen itself, I have to say that I did not have the authentic noodles and had their gluten-free version. Their gluten free version was made out of tofu, which I'm not crazy about on principal, but it actually had quite a good and interesting texture. Kind of reminiscent of sweet potato noodles without the transparency. Their broth was tasty but vinegary. It did not have a tremendous amount of depth. It wasn't rich in the way of fatty thickness or so on. I had the g-speciall ramen. I assume they didn't add sesame paste and that was one of the factors. But I didn't feel like it was a long steeping of a lot of different meat richness & minerality making up this broth. Perhaps I ordered the wrong broth?Definitely on the upper end of price for ramen in Portland.“
“So after moving from the west side of Portland, the Beaverton area and out here to molalla this was some of the freshest and best food. I've had so far definitely going back already started planning my order for next time I would highly recommend this place“
“Food was decent. I love the vegetarian ramen - it is on the sweet side, due to the coconut milk and maeploy curry paste but I really enjoy it.We sat at the bar seats in front of the entrance and where they prepare all of the to go orders. After having dropped off our mains, our server never came back. Never quality checked. There were multiple people right in front of us for at least 15 minutes after we have finished eating, and we had to ask for the check and to go boxes for our leftovers. Having been a server for many years, I know how challenging it can be - but this service was well below subpar. Perhaps it was a fluke, and we caught them on an off night. I will go back but if the service is the same, I will definitely take my business elsewhere. There are a lot of ramen restaurants in Portland to choose from.“
“Unbelievably kind staff, so patient with our orders since we were such an unorganized group. They also helped us clean up our accident in front of their place even after we went outside and paid. I would definitely recommend for the food and people“
“Best Izakaya in Portland. I have been coming to this place for years. A small restaurant with friendly service and authentic, delicious food. I recommend sitting at the bar and ordering a couple items at a time while you enjoy some sake or a Kirin. The sake selection is very well curated. The ramen is fantastic, with house made noodles. If you want to try something unique get the salmon broth ramen, it’s incredible. Servings are quite large as well!I adore all their hot offerings, and the hand rolls are great. Not a huge selection of sushi, because it’s not really a sushi restaurant, it’s an izakaya. Please understand they have had to reduce hours and menu since the pandemic, struggling like many other local businesses. Hope to see them return to the full menu soon, so please support this Division Street staple. Enjoy!Vegetarian options: I really enjoy their vegetarian sushi options.“
“I was pleasantly surprised. A smile when I placed my order. The chicken rice curry was quite good. Chicken was fresh and crispy, the curry was good, oh maybe it could use a little more kick. Rice just right. Generous portion. Deserves more business.“
“New menu means new items, possibly too many? The maramen was extremely spicy! If you can't handle ghost pepper heat, I wouldn't try it. It laterally gave me heartburn! The karaage (Japanese fried chicken) was burnt and definitely tasted it. But the tonkatsu ramen was perfect. And of course the service is always good here.“
