“We hired Noel at Mami’s Bakes to do cookies for our wedding rehearsal dinner and they were amazing! Everyone thought they were so delicious and had no idea they were vegan and gluten free. The red velvet cookie was totally amazing. We also ordered mini banana bread loaves for our wedding welcome bags and got so many compliments from guests! Noel was so nice to work with and took time for phone calls to make sure everything was perfect. We’ve also done orders just for fun or for holidays which have also all been delicious. Some of us in my family are vegan, some gluten free, and it’s so nice around the holidays to be able to pick up something delicious that everyone can eat. This year we ordered the coffee cake for Christmas morning and it was a huge hit, soo delicious! The cuban coffee cake is also insanely good!“

“I don't live in the Pittsburgh area anymore, but we were visiting relatives, and wanted to pick up takeout for about six people. Chinese food like everything else is getting extremely expensive compared to what it used to be. But not this place. The food was outstanding and fresh Perfectly boxed up for us and exactly what we ordered the way we wanted it. Very cool experience. Not easy to find Chinese restaurants in Pittsburgh that have egg foo young. And this restaurant makes egg foo yong perfectly - crispy, and not greasy. And the price is extremely competitive and less than most. Also enjoyed their happy family and eggrolls. But again, this is a better restaurant for takeout, even though they do have comfortable tables to sit in, but they're very limited.“

Googled the best pho and Pho Van was top of the list.Quiet Easter Sunday in Strip District but not Pho Van.There was lineup outside of the restaurant. In my mind, it’s gotta be good.I went in the restaurant and checked myself in. There were few people waiting before me. Waited almost 25 mins.It’s weird that they didn’t sit us in when there was a table for 4 people.I asked the staff and they said there was one person in front of me.So, it doesn’t make sense to me if you want to sit 1 person at a 4 people table.anyway, that person got another table and I sit at the table which was ready 10 mins ago.————-Pho:It’s very pricy comparing to Toronto (i know I can’t compare but still…). A bowl of Pho cost me $18 USD (~$25 CAD) and it’s only one size.Soup base was nice. No heavy MSG. I ordered eye round pho. Portion was ok (Large size in Toronto), meat portion was just ok. I expected more for this price.The noodle was thinner than Toronto. It was nice.Spring rollIt was delicious. Freshly made. Not those frozen one we have in Toronto. “I enjoy baking, and rarely buy from bakeries, but I was recovering from surgery recently and received several treats from The Ultimate Pastry Shop as alternative to flowers. “We went there for take out on Sunday night for dinner. Tried a small babaganus, regular falafel, one assorted aladin special kebab platter and one seesh kebab platter. The platters comes with buttered rice. Some of them comes with salad as well. The food taste really great. All the kebabs were very well cooked There, flavorful and tender. Babagsnus was very tasty as well. There was a pita with one of the above dishes but not sure with which dish I got the pita. My complain is about the quantity. The platters cost anywhere between 17 and 21 dollars. Given the price the quantity was not what I was expecting. Also the dips like tahini sauce or garlic sauce were not free which was kind of wired. They will change you 75 cents for that. The ambiance looked ok to me. There were one one couple eating in the restaurant when I went to order. So not sure if it gets busy during some other time of the day. There were ample parking available. The shop also sells cakes like carrot cake tiramisu and baklava. The service was really good. I ordered upon reaching there. It took them under 15mins to hand over my order“

I have had duck at other asian restaurants and it sometimes comes out rather tough and chewy. But I had the duck birds nest here and it was alot more smooth and tender. “We had Bethel Bakery make our wedding cake, and we couldn't have been happier with the service. Their at home tasting option was the nicest that we tried, the person who did our online consultation was great to work with, and everything was delicious!Unfortunately, we did have an issue with the cake itself. It arrived...basically in pieces. The delivery driver was in tears. Thankfully, our coordinator was able to largely salvage it, and Bethel Bakery, to their credit, could not have handled the mistake any better. They assured us that the cake and delivery charge would be free, and immediately followed up with an email the first thing the next morning, telling us to give them a call whenever it was convenient for us.When we called they were VERY apologetic, offered to make us a free anniversary cake, and even said they could decorate a fake cake, take it to our venue the next time they were there, and get pictures for us so that we could see what it should have looked like. We declined the fake cake photoshoot, but we were very impressed by the offer.Sometimes, accidents happen. What makes all the difference is how the company addresses the mistake. Bethel Bakery immediately took responsibility, and then went above and beyond to try to make things right. We truly appreciated their dedication to customer satisfaction, and we would not hesitate to use again for future cakes.“

Both served with a very nice garden salad and bread. Prices are a few dollars higher than most family restaurants.“
