“We’ve dined twice at Alla Famiglia and it’s the best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. Their portions are massive and we’ve always had enough for lunch the next day. The three things we recommend are the grilled octopus appetizer, any of the veal chops, and the seafood diavola. You need to see the size of the veal chops in person as pictures online don’t do it justice. We thought the Cavatappi tasted better than the Cacio pasta, even though Cacio costs more. Overall it’s pricey for Pittsburgh, but the quality is superior and you get enough for lunch the next day. Another tip is get a bottle of their spicy olive oil on the way out. I add it to many dishes for an extra kick and it makes for a great present.“

“Really good açaí bowls! They have lots of options and the flavors are great. My only complaint is that it is expensive, and I wish they had Nutella as a topping! My bowl was made quickly and the employee was very friendly. Hope to be back again soon!“

“We've been here twice. Tonight we celebrated a 33 year anniversary. I had the scallops, my husband the pork chop. Everything was delicious. Lou greeted us and made us feel like we entered our own dining room. Throughout the night, we heard him greeting several diners warmly. Shannon, guided us on menu options. With champagne (BYOB) and delicious entrees, we had a lovely night. All was topped off with a refreshing key lime dessert. Can't wait to return!!“

Nikki and her team truly care about their couples and their wedding days. We were able to tailor our menu to our liking and keep it in our budget. Googled the best pho and Pho Van was top of the list.Quiet Easter Sunday in Strip District but not Pho Van.There was lineup outside of the restaurant. In my mind, it’s gotta be good.I went in the restaurant and checked myself in. There were few people waiting before me. Waited almost 25 mins.It’s weird that they didn’t sit us in when there was a table for 4 people.I asked the staff and they said there was one person in front of me.So, it doesn’t make sense to me if you want to sit 1 person at a 4 people table.anyway, that person got another table and I sit at the table which was ready 10 mins ago.————-Pho:It’s very pricy comparing to Toronto (i know I can’t compare but still…). A bowl of Pho cost me $18 USD (~$25 CAD) and it’s only one size.Soup base was nice. No heavy MSG. I ordered eye round pho. Portion was ok (Large size in Toronto), meat portion was just ok. “I come with my husband for lunch. We always get the lunch special and he LOVES the soup that comes with it. I adore the Tum Yum veggie soup. The summer roll is so fresh and the crab app is crispy and always hot. It’s a family owned business so that just makes it even better. You can’t go wrong with anything you get. My husband and I got married on August 26, 2022 and our cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing. Even having the top layer for our 1 year anniversary was delicious. I cannot recommend Bethel Bakery more.“

“Started my Pittsburgh foodie adventures in this adorable little sit-down pizza restaurant in Shadyside! We tried the Pizza Del Re (white pizza) and Pizza Della Casa (red pizza), and both lived up to the hype! Pizza Del Re: - White pizza with mozzarella, truffle spread, & prosciutto (it comes with mushrooms too, but we got it without because my boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms) - A super rich truffle taste that was so yummy - Loved the thin crust, but there were parts that tasted a little too burnt Pizza Della Casa: - Red tomato sauce pizza with mozzarella, grape tomatoes, arugula, prosciutto, & parmigiano - I love the combination of prosciutto & arugula and it was a plus that the arugula tasted so fresh & wasn't bitter - I personally prefer red sauce over white sauce, so I liked this pizza a little bit more To top off your meal here, make sure to get their gelato for dessert! I got a small size with 2 flavors -- tiramisu and hazelnut. Both flavors were super rich and yummy and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.“

I have had duck at other asian restaurants and it sometimes comes out rather tough and chewy. But I had the duck birds nest here and it was alot more smooth and tender. “We went there for take out on Sunday night for dinner. Tried a small babaganus, regular falafel, one assorted aladin special kebab platter and one seesh kebab platter. The platters comes with buttered rice. Some of them comes with salad as well. The food taste really great. All the kebabs were very well cooked There, flavorful and tender. Babagsnus was very tasty as well. There was a pita with one of the above dishes but not sure with which dish I got the pita. My complain is about the quantity. The platters cost anywhere between 17 and 21 dollars. Given the price the quantity was not what I was expecting. Also the dips like tahini sauce or garlic sauce were not free which was kind of wired. They will change you 75 cents for that. The ambiance looked ok to me. There were one one couple eating in the restaurant when I went to order. So not sure if it gets busy during some other time of the day. There were ample parking available. The shop also sells cakes like carrot cake tiramisu and baklava. The service was really good. I ordered upon reaching there. It took them under 15mins to hand over my order“

“This is award winning food. Gluten-free heaven for me! I had the tuna melt on GF focaccia bread, it was SO delicious I had to reconfirm that it was GF. The tuna was exceptionally mouth watering. To finish our meal we decided on canole, yum! My only disappointment was the bread - nothing special, nor did it seem much like what I had in Italy. The wine list had some nice options... the Aldo Conterno Bussia Barolo caught my attention (yeah, we ordered it - def decant). “We had Bethel Bakery make our wedding cake, and we couldn't have been happier with the service. Their at home tasting option was the nicest that we tried, the person who did our online consultation was great to work with, and everything was delicious!Unfortunately, we did have an issue with the cake itself. It arrived...basically in pieces. The delivery driver was in tears. Thankfully, our coordinator was able to largely salvage it, and Bethel Bakery, to their credit, could not have handled the mistake any better. They assured us that the cake and delivery charge would be free, and immediately followed up with an email the first thing the next morning, telling us to give them a call whenever it was convenient for us.When we called they were VERY apologetic, offered to make us a free anniversary cake, and even said they could decorate a fake cake, take it to our venue the next time they were there, and get pictures for us so that we could see what it should have looked like. We declined the fake cake photoshoot, but we were very impressed by the offer.Sometimes, accidents happen. What makes all the difference is how the company addresses the mistake. Bethel Bakery immediately took responsibility, and then went above and beyond to try to make things right. “While in the area I was craving Thai food and my friend mentioned she knew of a good place nearby. We stopped by around 1130 on a Sunday and it was almost empty when we got there. We were seated right away and ordered a bunch of different foods to share including mussamun curry, pad see ew, pad kee mow, Thai noodle soup, chicken satay, and Thai iced tea. I'd say everything was really good with the exception of the kee mow. It had veggies in it that I've never had in it before and I just didn't love it as much I have at other places. The mussamun was delicious and the noodle soup is something I've never had before but will definitely be on my radar from now on. The inside was nice, the staff was really friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. Overall I thought it was a good experience and I would go back!“
