“Frankly friendly bosses. It seems that the employees are well treated: they are super welcoming and passionate. We taste the best poutine on the island for us, especially the one with ground beef and sautéed onions (don't worry about the i: it's the reformed spelling since 1990!).We leave the place with clothes that smell of frying, but that's the price to pay for eating excellent snack food, in a retro atmosphere without being kitsch.If we could have washable glasses and plates instead of disposable ones, that would be happiness!“

“The food was amazing! We ordered the Duck foie gras poutine, the pork chop, Duck in a Can and Pudding Chomeur for dessert. We couldn't be more impressed with the flavour and the quality of our meal. Our server was fantastic and was very thorough in taking us through the menu. We were sat at a deuce table in front of the service area which was very busy and chaotic. We felt several times that the servers or staff would fall into us but instead ended up bumping into each other to navigate the narrow aisle. There really wasn't enough room for the table and the staff in that area. But we were very glad to have had the experience at this wonderful restaurant and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.“

“Went to several great tables recently and this place didn't disappoint. Some risk, would have loved to see more creativity from such a renowned place (that's why 4 stars and not 3). Portions were on the small side (I took 2 appetizers). Service however was on point, taste was excellent and cooking done perfect. Very picky of me to give 4 stars but Vin Mon Lapin the night prior and Monarque on Thursday were a match, with a little extra. I would come back to club Chasse et Pêche. Very close tin mu book to 5 stars (4.5 can't give 1/2).“

“Very good refined restaurant! My girlfriend took me there for my birthday, I had wanted to try it for a long time, and I was not disappointed. We were very well received, the food was very good, made from local products, and very well prepared! I even tasted veal rice (in ravioli) for the first time, and despite my initial reluctance, I enjoyed it!We had selected the menu of the month with the food and wine pairing. Everything was good, I was just a little disappointed with the wines selected which did not add much to the dishes tasted, apart from the chocolate dessert with which a banyuls was extraordinary.Overall a very good experience, we will most likely return soon“

The food speaks for itself. Fresh ingredients, delishious dishes with great flavors. The service is some of the friendliest, most bilingual ive had recently. Could be a little over bearing if you dont want someone checking in on you very often, but for me it added to the night. Duck appetizer, the duck main and the roasted quail.“

“We had a great night at Cadet. We particularly loved the snow crab, the duck breast, and the gnocchi. The salad lacked nuances but it was still very solid. The service was great, very friendly and definitely contributed to our great experience. The place is quite big but cozy and looks better in reality compared to the photos you can find on the internet.“

“We celebrated a trio of birthdays while we were visiting Montreal. Nolan is super cool vibes and cozy. We let our waiter who I believe is one of the owners curate a menu for our group of 6 at a price point that we set. Felt like we had a great variety of food and good portions and they were able to accommodate some items for my dietary preferences. The food was really good but what was the best was the service. The workers were warm and so friendly and we stayed many hours enjoying the vibes. Highly recommend!“

“Loved everything about Mastard. The cocktails were phenomenal, I had the colada which was perfectly balanced and delicious. My husband had their green, herb drink Which was also absolutely delicious, very fresh. We started with an amuse bouche which was delicious. We added the wine pairings but just one since there was 12 oz of wine total (3 per course) and we wanted to have a cocktail as well without getting completely drunk. Splitting the pairing was the perfect amount and the wines were delicious - white which I normally don’t prefer but perfectly paired.Everything was absolutely beautiful, well balanced and had exceptional flavor. I enjoyed every bite - I’ve dined at a lot of Montreal restaurants but this one took the cake. While it’s expensive, it’s completely worth it. The flavor, service, atmosphere- all wonderful. And the best part for me? You leave satisfied and not still hungry. We will definitely be back. The service, although immaculate, was however very quick at the start of the meal, perhaps a little too much. “Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

Even though the line was long, the guy working the counter was providing quick and efficient service, so our wait did not last too long. “I visited this coffee shop four times during a week stay in old Montreal. The coffee (I got flat whites) was consistently very good. The service was always friendly. They serve oat milk as a default (though regular milk is also an option) at no extra charge. I very much appreciate their effort in helping us all shift towards more sustainable choices by making them both affordable and delicious. Good looking pastries too!Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian savory scones and one of two sandwich options is vegetarian.“

The decor is sober but the atmosphere warm, with wood, plants and windows which let in all the light. “This little bistro is a real discovery! We were pleasantly surprised by the diversity and quality of the lunch menu, particularly the variety of tartars offered. Choosing from the different types of tartares was a real pleasure, and each of them was tasty in its own way. The warm ambiance of the bistro added to our dining experience, allowing us to fully enjoy our lunch. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience, and we are already planning to return to explore more of what this bistro has to offer.“
