“Absolutely delicious food, warm and inviting atmosphere, beautiful view of the bridge, and super friendly and attentive servers! We came in the winter but I imagine it's even more lovely in warmer weather sitting outside with the views of the water. Cannot emphasize enough how tasty the food was!“
“Some of the best food in Jamestown! I love to cook, and I cook A LOT. Angel's is an angel on those nights I am exhausted or just burnt out and don't want to make dinner. My husband and I order takeout from them a few times a month, and would definitely order a lot more often if they were open 7 days a week. My favorite hands down is the Caesar Salad with salmon. Salmon always cooked perfectly with a crispy crust, dressing (on the side) is creamy and delicious. House made croutons add the perfect crunch. Portions are so generous, I have plenty for lunch the next day. My husband usually orders either the chicken milanese, chicken marsala or chicken piccata and all of them are yummy as well. Highly recommend for take out, but order early as they get really busy. The secret is out.“
“First time at Beech. Very enjoyable experience on every front. Got a great seat by the window with a water view for my wife. Martini was excellent (and i'm a fairly harsh judge.) Our server couldn't have been better. She was amused that to her, I sounded like Ray Romano ( I am queens bred after all.). Now all that said - it is offseason. We will be back with high hopes and a larger party this summer...“
“Great sandwiches and coffee, with a beautiful view of Newport bridge and the west passage. It is a tiny place inside, but has a lot of outdoor seating. The service is very friendly and fast. Unfortunately they close early in the afternoon, but love going there when it is open.“
“Loved the clam chowda. The clam cakes were mostly breading so I took a star off. Service was good. There was only one person tending bar and waitressing. The only suggestion is to be greeted or a sign that tells you to seat yourself/wait to be seated“
“First time in Newport and tried Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant for dinner. So happy we did great lively ambiance we didn’t have a reservation so we waited at the bar fortunately we found seats and enjoyed a glass of wine and a cold beer. Bogle Merlot was a perfect choice and my husband enjoyed his local craft beer. We had the Brie and Apple Bruschetta which was amazing and my husband loved his Fish and Chips and Clam Chowder. Definitely would return but make reservations. The place was very busy. Excellent customer service would highly recommend.“
“As usual, the our dinner at the White Horse Tavern was wonderful. We ate in the bar, a cozy table by the window, that provided lovely atmosphere. The service was fast and polite as usual. The food, again as usual was fantastic. If you enjoy a good meal, wonderful atmosphere, and historic buildings, you will love the White Horse Tavern.“
“Food: Fantastic warm rolls, chowder and clam plate. Great daily specials for only $22 each. We had the pork chops -- they were so lean that, without any fat, the meat was tasteless. That was the only downside. But the portions were huge with 2 large sized chops, and very very generous sides of sweet potato mash and shredded brussels sprouts. Maybe we just had bad luck on the chops. We'd come back again to try something else (or for the appetizers). Service: Our server was amazing too. Forgot her name but she's a 30-something lady with short light brown hair. She was so warm and welcoming.“
“Food was fantastic, and a very welcoming atmosphere. No free refills on soda (unless our waitress, who was great, just accidentally put it in wrong) which I found a bit strange, especially for the glasses which are very small and filled mostly with ice. Overall great experience, good chunks of lobster in the mac and cheese which is rare. Will be back“
“If the sea is ever calling for you, go to the coast guard house. If you are hankering for a beautiful seafood dinner, go to the coast guard house. If you want to feel the beauty and the grandeur of old Rhode Island in one experience, go to the coast guard house. It is a sea lovers love song ?“
“Had the 2-course lunch special for $22 and everything was delicious. The lobster roll was served hot or cold, pictured is the hot roll with a nice garlic flavor on the bread. Steak in the sandwich was tender and not fatty and the fries are perfect. Service was timely, and serves was informative. Highly recommend trying them out.“
“No special occasion this time, just three friends making time for lunch and this was a prefect stormy day to see the sea and enjoy a bottle of bubbly and delicious cuisine. Our server was friendly and attentive and Brian came by to check on us and see how everything was--perfect as always!“
“Unique culinary experience. We got the wine tasting and non alcoholic tasting.. I’d recommend both. They enhanced the flavors and enriched the experience.Food was great and filling.Staff was kind and knowledgeable. We sat in a small quiet dining room, although the hotel was beautiful, we would have preferred the larger dining room.I would go back ?“
“Dear Steff and the team at Scratch Kitchen. Every single member of the team is pretty awesome and the food. Wow!I was introduced to Scratch Kitchen by Kevin at Innovate Newport as I needed to hire a catering vendor to support a conference. The entire process of working with Steff and Scratch was a partnership and nothing was too much to ask.On the day of the conference, the feedback from my delegates was overwhelmingly wonderful and everyone applauded the menu.Scratch Kitchen and Catering is a fantastic gem of Newport and I can’t wait to come back. PS: The Reubens Sandwich is off the scale ??“
“Great local spot, but not the most welcoming to outsiders. Had to wait 20 minutes to get a reserved table, servers were best pals with every table around us. The food was inconsistent; some dishes were great, some were frankly sub par. A great wine selection.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly, at least for dinnerWheelchair accessibility: Not accessible.“
“Absolutely delicious!! My new favorite restaurant. The service was excellent. The bartender was friendly and made delicious cocktails- the pear martini was especially delicious. I had the duck ramen and my husband had the steak. Everything was outstanding. I highly recommend!!“
“Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Casual dining. We ordered the clam chowder and a couple of the fish dishes. The fish was fresh and was accompanied by choice of potatoes and fresh vegetables (baby carrots, green beans, and Brussels sprouts). We would definitely return.“
“I was pleasantly surprised. Most places rob you when it comes to payment for portion size. Not newport lobster shack! I wanted to wait for a lobster roll until later in the season but the wife had other plans and we stumbled upon the shack. It was still cold to me so unfortunately we were not able to sit outside. The area was clean, staff was happy to be there, and food was good.Go there and stop reading my review.“
“First trip to Newport and my girlfriend would not stop talking about how PJs probably has the best burger in RI...I've now committed to trying every burger I can in the state because I don't think anyone will beat the basic perfection that is their “
“I organized a get together for the holidays for my extended family and me (22 total) and T's handled everything (from the initial reservation, confirmation of reservation, our seating, the service and the food) with perfection. We will definitely be back! Thank you Amber, Steve and Schuylar for accommodating us all for this very special get together.“
“delicious, a little more care could be paid to evenly proportioning the proponents of certain sandwiches so you get a solid distribution ratio per bite & I do wish they’re fries hit a little harder. But they’re bread and meats and stuffing make up for all that and then some “
“OMG... Lived here in Middletown for 2 years and first time visiting IHOP! Don't know why I waited so long. Wife and I stopped in for a late evening dinner(breakfast) and everything was amazing. Ashley was our waitress; very attentive and took care of us. The kitchen staff absolutely crushed it! Had the Spicy Poblano Hollandaise.... ??? Wife the Thick and fluffy French toast with eggs and sausage and that was delicious as well. All in all, 10 out of 10 for everything! We'll be back soon!“
“Much like the other reviews, I had a fantastic experience with Darwin. The mark of a good bartender is being able to make a great “bartenders choice” drink with your liquor/palate preference. Overall the drinks where great with the service to match. A go-to nightcap in Newport for sure.“
“The Chop House Grill has been our go-to place every week for years. We went again tonight and sat at the bar to eat and interact with James Tsai, our favorite bartender and server. He is a true expert at his job, and is frequently observed training new waitstaff. He gave us perfect service as always. A newer member of the staff is Max, whom we also enjoy dealing with. Both are ideal representatives of the Chop House Grill. Kudos! I wish that we could give 10 stars to "the Chop" and these amazing people.“
“A warning- if you dont like honest reviews of deliciousness on a Saturday morning, please scroll on by. I wish I was able to take a photo of my breakfast from Mae's Place this morning, but quite frankly- it was so yummy, I gobbled it up without even blinking. A Valentine's Day special, i saw the menu posted on their Instagram with some photos, so I ordered the Bacon and Latke Eggs Benedict with a side of fruit and a cawfee to go. I live about 6-8 minutes away from Mae's, and let me tell you- I drooled the whole ride home. The smell of fresh latkes and coffee swirling around my car, I couldn't wait to tear into that breakfast. It was so good. The eggs were made to my liking, the bacon crunchy, the latkes seasoned and yum.... It also helps that when I call to put my order in, "Miss Fabulous" herself; Jackie, answers with "Hiiiiiii Areiiiinnnaaaa" when she picks up the phone to take my order Do yourselves a favor this weekend, treat yourself right and get some eggs Bennie from Mae's. Call up Jackie and let her know I sent ya. Happy Saturday North Kingstown. Go be great today“
“Decent meal on my first day in rainy Newport and located on the bustling main streets where all the shops and restaurants/cafes are. Luckily, parking was free around the area (only until 4/30, assuming it's off-season when I went last week). The restaurant itself is small, and overall clean. You could tell that the waitress and waiters were in charge of multiple tables as it took a while for the water to come to our table and then we had to wait a little bit to order and get the food. Lobster bisque 7/10 - it was not as flavorful as others I've had, but it was creamy, and I liked the croutons on it to give a little texture. Mahi 8/10 - I really liked the sauce that came with the fish - there were olives and capers for a salty addition that worked well with the fish, tomato, and spinach. The rice was nicely cooked, and the asparagus were crunchy and not mushy. Calamari pizza 6.5/10 - a lot of calamari, but the pizza itself was very thin and not crunchy.“
“Absolutely love Chelsea's Restaurant in Middletown, RI! It has a clean, inviting atmosphere and the staff is incredibly friendly. But the real star is the food! Their dishes are absolutely delicious and their coffee is the best I've ever had. If you're looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot in Newport County, Chelsea's is the place to go!Parking: There is parking on the sideKid-friendliness: Yes kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp“
“I'm going back solely to see Candice again - she was absolutely incredible! Such wonderful service and so genuine and kind. She knew just from how I said I liked my drink that I really didn't like it and gave me a new one for free I'll be back soon!“
“Always love coming here. Food is consistently good. Nice bar, warm and cozy atmosphere and great staff. Their specials are always good and their desserts are pretty delish. If they have the coffee cake dessert as a special definitely do not pass on it. You can have an expresso to finish your meal. so satisfying.“
“I very much enjoyed my experience at this Applebees. The minute I walked in, the vibes were smooth and chill which is exactly what I wanted. My waitress, Ella, was very welcoming and kind. She knew every answer to the questions we had and made the experience nice and relaxing. Will be coming back “
“Old Mountain Lanes is a hidden gem in southern Rhode Island. We had an outing there for a parks association meeting and we had a great time. This was the second time we have been there. Great place to bowl of course, but they have a great diner and a bar area. The pizza we had was very good, and others in my group said they had pretty good food there. Although I did not eat at the diner. There is plenty of room for an outing, and / or a meeting. Definitely a good choice. If you're looking for a place for corporate team building, birthday party or other event. I highly recommend it.“
“We have been going to George's for many years. As always, the food and views are wonderful. What set our last visit apart from the rest was our lovely server Alexia. She was funny and attentive to all of our requests. It is so nice to see someone enjoying their job.“
“What a great first stop after getting off the plane for our first trip to Rhode Island! We had to have some new England Cod which DID NOT disappoint!Tried this crazy thing called unsweet tea haha also delicious. The cheesecake was phenomenal, I was a little surprised by a lent menu but it looked great and the view was just perfect. Thank you for the warm welcome“
“Sometimes you just need a good burger and bar - and Malt delivered! Cozy bar/restaurant with an awesome drink/cocktail/beer selection - and was pretty packed at 830 on a Saturday night. I had the Malt burger and it was great / cooked perfectly and tasty with bacon, pickled onion jam, mustard aioli, etc - the kitchen knows how to upgrade a burger! Draft Beer selection was impressive - I particularly loved this Pilsner from VT. Waiter was great - and they must make a mean espresso martini - as we saw a lot of them coming out from the bar! Menu is varied - and prob want to try the cod/risotto next time. Great experience and loved the ‘whole package’ at Malt!“
“The food is always good here, stopped in recently w the wife & it turned out to be the beginning of restaurant week '24 & let me just say that portion size for price was unbeatable, anywhere! Neither of us could finish our meals & the desserts were amazing!“
“It was a very nice experience! First, the food was AMAZING!! So enjoyable! The "murder story" was interesting and it was not too easy to solve. The people who led it did a great job! I liked how they gave keys step by step.I really enjoyed everything! Highly recommend!!“
“It is very rare to find a restaurant where everything is exceptional! We were served by Kim. She is a gem! We totally felt at home in this beautiful restaurant. Our meals were huge and delicious. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying their Monday night out!“
“Amazing find for breakfast! It seems like a small mom and pop restaurant, very limited seating. The service was some of the best I've had! The food was quick and very good. Even prices were way below what I would expect in a tourist area! Kind of disappointed in the Hunts not Heinz ketchup, but I'll live! This place is worth a stop for sure!“
“Excellent food and serviceEven the coffee is good5th time and it’s still good, we recommend Rachel’s to everyoneEat here, it will be the best breakfast experience in South Kingstown RIOle Ty of parking and for coffee lovers, the coffee is very goodLunch is also greatI recommend the Rueben“
“Love the food! Everything taste amazing and fresh! One of my favorite restaurants!Dietary restrictions: I heard the table next to me asking for gluten free options and the waitress was helping them with options!Parking: They have their own parking lot.“
“Was here for a wedding reception and the base is beautiful. The bar staff are friendly and the food was good. We had heavy appetizers and an open bar, so they can handle just about anything. There are some restrictions because of base access, but anyone who can get on the base can come to this bar. The view over to the bridge is beautiful. Enjoy!“
“My family and I vacation in Newport, Rhode Island each year. We enjoy breakfasts together during our trips and so we have tried several restaurants in the past, including the Franklin Spa. During our our visit this past week we noticed that the menu was different and there was a different vibe to the location. My suspicions were correct as we met Nick and Brittany, the new proprietors!! The food was great, lots of options and at a fair price. We enjoyed our breakfast so much that we returned the following morning to enjoy our last breakfast before returning to Philadelphia. If you are in Newport and in search of a place for Breakfast, I highly recommend the Franklin Spa. We look forward to returning in the future.“
“Great experience for my group of 8. We enjoyed having a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar with a seamless transition to our round dining table (love round tables!) which worked so well for keeping the conversation flowing over a beautiful dinner.“
“Stopped in today on an overcast RI day while enjoying an instate vaca getaway for a few days. Opted to try their Beef Stew entree (for lunch-lol) since I felt the urge to warm up since the weather wasn't the best today. Definitely the right decision. Huge chunks of beef accompanied by fully cooked potatoes and massive carrots. Paired with 2 warm rolls filled my belly and prepped me for some more sidewalk trolling.“
“A friend and I were there today for lunch however, we never made it inside because my friend had a medical emergency.Mary, The manager there was unbelievably kind and patient with us. She went out of her way to do everything to put me at ease, while the medical personnel took care of the situation with my friend. The staff could not have been kind enough and went out of their way to make me comfortable while waiting for the EMTs to do their job. The restaurant was very busy at the time, and they took the initiative to go above, and beyond what they had to do during a very busy time. Remarkable staff?“
“I've been here a few times and every time the burgers are spectacular! Definitely some of the best burgers I've had in the area. Service is always prompt and friendly, and the vibes inside are funky and cool. Definitely a don't miss spot on Broadway!“
“Honestly for a tavern / pub. It's quite nice. They have a variety of food and drinks of all sorts and it's quite tasty. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Now remember this is a tavern / bar so don't expect a gastronomic experience. But if you're out and about with your partner and/of friends. Stop in for a beer and a snack. This is still New Port. So it's gonna go bad be cheap. But good enoughVegetarian options: Sprouts are fantastic“
“Welcome to the culinary rollercoaster that is Ney Hall Galley! Buckle up, folks, because this military dining hall is a unique experience worthy of a quirky 5-star review. First off, the daily ritual of being greeted with a cheerful "good morning" or "good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen" is a heartwarming touch. It's like entering a parallel universe where politeness reigns supreme. The atmosphere is so polite that I half-expected someone to offer me a bow tie with my salad tongs. Speaking of salad, Ney Hall Galley takes the concept of an all-you-can-eat salad bar to a whole new level. It's practically a salad wonderland! The meals are surprisingly affordable, turning each dining experience into a budget-friendly feast. Now, let's talk coffee. The mysterious decaffeinated vibe adds an air of intrigue. Is it decaf, or is it just playing hard to get? The coffee's secret identity remains shrouded in mystery, adding an element of suspense to each sip. Breakfast is the unsung hero here, consistently solid with the exception of those egg whites that occasionally flirt with a plastic taste. It's a minor hiccup in the grand symphony of Ney Hall Galley's culinary escapade. And let's not forget the culinary superstars--the clam chowder and double fudge chocolate cakes. These items deserve their own fan club. If there's a culinary Hall of Fame for military dining halls, Ney Hall clam chowder and chocolate cakes would be first-ballot inductees. Now, the 15-minute time limit for meals adds a dash of urgency to the dining experience. It's like a culinary sprint, and you better be ready to chow down at turbo speed. Blink, and you might miss the gastronomic adventure. But beyond the food, what truly makes Ney Hall Galley special is the journey. It's not just a dining experience; it's a daily escapade into the world of military politeness, decaf coffee mysteries, and culinary surprises. Be warned, though--there's a fair amount of yelling, adding a touch of excitement to each meal. Ney Hall Galley, you've made my dining experience unforgettable, and for that, you get a quirky 5-star salute!“
“We stayed here four nights. We dined at this restaurant several times. The calamari wasn't as expected with the oil and peppers, but rather unfortunately was served with red sauce. The chocolate cake was incredible, velvety smooth with rich chocolate. Overall was a good establishment to have a meal with.Parking: Parking is located on both sides of the building and the restaurant is easily accessible once inside the hotel. It's located right through lobby opposite the reception counter.“
“Wonderful baked goods. The Asiago bagels, croissants, and fruit scones are my personal favorites, but there's lots of choice. Avocado toast is a real treat. Great breakfast and lunch sandwich selection. Excellent coffees. Plenty of indoor and outdoor (in season) seating, except perhaps during morning rush on a sunny summer weekend morning. Very charming atmosphere.“
