“Perfectly prepared Seafood, comfortable but elegant ambiance, and a great location. A nice high end but low-key spot right near the iconic Austin music spot, Antone’s.The kind crab was perfectly cooked. The braised greens had the subtlest kiss of Serrano pepper. It is seafood with a whisper of the south. The chef is James Beard award winning MASHAMA BAILEY of Savanah, so that makes a lot of sense. The vibe was relaxed but high-end.They bill this as a southern spot. I think it is more a seafood place with a whisper of the South (not to be confused with “Texan cuisine” a cousin but something entirely its own thing.)The restroom is hard to find - it is in the hotel lobby but they do not have good signage. It is buried in the back of a second elevator bank area. They have a neon sign in a different spot announcing that it is NOT the restroom - but nothing of its equal to show you where you should go / where it is.They set up shop diagonally across from Eddie V’s (seafood and chop house) which has been there for decades.Vegetarian options: This was the one area of real opportunity: there were very few options for a vegetarian / vegansDietary restrictions: Greedy for keto and gluten allergy folks!Parking: No garage. No street parking $15 for first 3 hours of valet.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible throughout“
“Everyone recommended this spot. Drinks were fantastic. Food came out cold, but the bartender fixed it right away. The sweet potato tots had a great seasoning, and so did the fried green tomatoes . Parking was a little difficult. It's a really cool vibe.“
“People said I should go here because their chicken was really good. Of course I was skeptical of the claim "world's best", but I really have to say that this indeed was the best fried Chicken I have ever had. Extremely juicy inside and the crispy breading was just a little bit spicy but perfect for my tastes. I loved it. The place has kind of a diner feel and the price is extremely reasonable for downtown Austin. You have to go there“
“The menu celebrates the rich culinary traditions of the South, with dishes like fried chicken and shrimp and grits stealing the show. Each bite is a comforting embrace of flavors, made even more delightful by the elegant surroundings and attentive service.“
“OMG! It was soo good and fulfilling ! I got the chicken tenders with fried okra with cheesy Mac , and I also had a little the fried onions . It was delicious ! The food was freshly done and warm . I will come back to try the different toppings ! I could not wait to eat it, so I ate one of the the chicken tenders before taking this picture .“
“Simply divine! Everything from the cocktails and dishes to the attentive waitstaff, even to the decorations was incredible. There wasn't a single thing I ate that I wouldn't recommend (and I ate a lot! ?) I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Austin. A big thank you to the whole team that made our dinner exceptional. Worth every penny!“
“This food truck is INSIDE Still Austin Whiskey Co | they use buzzers for you to pick up your food | their food is fresh and made to order (so come with patience) everything eas cooked to perfection - the burgers was perfect and fries were crispy on the outside and soft and mealy on the inside | definitely “
“I initially was skeptical about the establishment because of the weird ingredients in their menu items. Wouldn't have gone to the establishment had it not been the location selected for an upcoming girls night with friends. Went in with the mindset that I would be recommending a venue change for girls night. Staff was friendly and server had good suggestions. I was impressed that the drinks were ordered initially weren't short on alcohol though the 2nd drinks weren't good. Food was actually really good and would be a great place for brunch. We won't be changing the venue for girls night and I would definitely go back.“
“I have been to there sister restaurant Salt Traders many times but this was my first time at Jack Allen's and it was definitely as delicious as everyone has told me. I love the flavor profiles and combinations. I like the way they fuse Texas flavors like barbacoa and fried green tomatoes.“
“Knocked everything out of the park! Fried pickles, hushpuppies, and corn nuggets were perfect! Fried Shrimp and Catfish hit the spot and were super fresh. Gumbo was better than most but not amazing. Such a good spot for any occasion and everything is super well priced. $60 for 2 ppl not going light with anything. Can't beat it for real, and our server DeAndra was amazing!“
“Went in for a bite on a Sunday afternoon on St Patty's. Was excited to learn about their brunch buffet so ended up doing that! Tons of options to sample that were absolutely amazing. Some of the food was generic but by no means bad. I really enjoyed it. They were busy as could be so although service was good I had to go find someone to get wait staff to our table after about 15 minutes if no one showing up to our table. Thereafter, everything was great with them frequenting the table to make sure we had everything we needed. Cocktails were absolutely delicious kudos to the bartending staff! Excited to go back and try more on the menu!“
“Amazing place, sometimes the crawfish is not as clean as they should be, but that is forgivable being that was only a handful of occurances out of many. All other food is amazing and this place surprisingly has some of the best burgers you can find.“
“What a wonderful start to our anniversary! Jillian was incredibly nice and attentive; she absolutely made our special day even more special!I had the best smoked salmon benedict of my life thanks to her suggestionThe food was quick to come out and brilliantly made10/10 would recommend ??“
“We came in for the brunch for the first time today. Have been here for dinner but never the brunch. It was our anniversary and we had two awesome servers--Jacob who started us off and Exel who was working the bar and served us as well. They were both friendly, personable and attentive. The food was fantastic--I had the fried chicken biscuit and my husband and I shared the Gem Salad, both really delicious. They were kind enough to bring us the deviled eggs on the house and they are definitely a must. We finished off by splitting a Cinnamon roll-- perfect tender dough and not overly sweet. All in all a really nice experience, and we'll definitely be back again.“
“Great Texas flair! From the minute you walk in you’re greeted by the superb service that awaits your indulgence. We celebrated my sister’s bday with a brunch started with the warm, fluffy, and delicious biscuits and gravy shared by all 8 of us, along with the perfect scone and cinnamon roll. Portions are perfect for sharing. Chicken fried steak and waffles, Amazing! The steak hash was given ??if you like bbq sauce. Mimosas were served in cute mason jars and the large pitcher is more than enough for a group of 8. The cute store is full of great vintage things!“
“We had such an awesome experience today celebrating a friend's birthday. After a minor mix up w a reservation app management went above and beyond to ensure the evening was special. The little details make all the difference! Can't wait to come back!“
“The food was very yummy. My belly was nice and full after I finished eating. I ordered the ribs and sausage, coleslaw, and cornbread. The gentleman that took my order was extremely kind and hospitable. The indoor seating area at the time did not have the A/C working, it might have been out of order. This is a no-frills establishment.“
“After living on the East side for 5 years while attending HT, we returned this past weekend for Homecoming! One of our events was hosted at this lovely location. The service was outstanding the waitress really made sure we had our bottomless mimosas filled throughout our time there. The food was so delicious and fresh! The atmosphere of the location was just right and the decor was amazing. We were also able to stand outside where there were tables and of course the views! One of the mangers was expressing to us that Victory was the location for all the black artist to come perform when 6th street (downtown) was still segregated. This is a historic landmark for the black East Side of ATX and happy to of been able to feel the culture! We will soon return!“
“You walk in and order from the bar and choose to leave the tab open or close out. It's self seating and they will give you a number and bring your ordered items out to you.I ate the deviled eggs and the gumbo. The deviled eggs were so creamy and delicious I only would of added more hot sauce for July liking but they were good. The gumbo was warm and flavorful, it had a lot of green chilies in so it was a little spicy.“
“good food \\u0026 prices. The people that work there are really nice and deliver customer service that you just don't see that much anymore. Went there on 3.1.22 and they are open, even though it says \\\"temporarily closed\\\"“
“Really kind owner's that gave a lunch for me and my partner that we will never forget. We both got turkey legs mine had some delicious mac and cheese and his was loaded with the dirty rice and shrimp. Amazing flavor don't be shy check em out!“
“The ambience and space was perfect for date. The food was wonderful and great sizes for two or three to share. Everyone enjoyed the delicious drinks. Chewy was our server and he was fantastic and attentive from the start. I would recommend this place as a great spot to catch up, girls night out, date night, or anything casual too.“
“If you have yet to have the culinary experience that is paired with a methodical drink menu that doesn't punish the designated driver but rewards with several off the grid beverages that have put Shirley Temples a thing of the past to bed permanently. Truly a place that says come as you are and means it. White linen and sweats. As the late Biggie Smalls dorn his sweats and hoodie said, "Bab Bab babieee!"?“
“WOW! This place was amazing. I got here at 9:40am and I was the 4th person in line. By 10:15 there was over 50 people waiting to get in. I got a little of everything so the price was not cheap. But man am I glad I did. All the meat was outstanding. The Coleslaw was outstanding. The green beans was outstanding. The BBQ beans was outstanding. The Corn was outstanding. If you are in Austin you have to come here. Top three BBQ joints on my all time list. Right up their with slow bones in Dallas and Stanley's in tyler.“
