“?? Review: Decent BBQ and Burgers, But Not Worth a Detour ??I recently visited Charlie’s BBQ and Hamburgers for some BBQ and burgers, and while the experience had its highlights, it fell short in some areas.Let’s start with the BBQ: the chicken and ribs were decent, but nothing to write home about. They lacked that wow factor and left me craving something more flavorful. However, I must admit, the BBQ sauce was a standout - tangy, sweet, and just the right amount of smoky goodness. Now onto the burgers: While they were flavorful, there was something off about them. They didn’t quite taste like real meat, which was a bit weird and disappointing. However, if you’re open to non-traditional burger experiences, you might enjoy them.On the bright side, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their warm hospitality definitely added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. In conclusion, if you happen to be in the area, it’s worth stopping by Charlie’s bbq and burgers for a bite. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again. There are better BBQ joints and burger spots out there.“

“Took food to go. The ribs were delicious. Also had the jalapeño sausage. Usually jalapeño sausage has cheese and this one did not and yet it was still super moist. I really liked the barbecues sauce because it wasn't sweet and was just flavorful. We did not try the sides but they were not that entertaining looking. They were super nice serving us too! Finally the pecan pie filling was delicious but the crust was a bit hard.“

“Went here for brunch, it was 12pm and already packed. The Dj knew his mix. The staff was very friendly, the food could be better taste wise and serving warm food scores you higher points ?NOTE: do the valet parking, because parking anywhere else will get your car towed, it’s a kind of business in that area saying this from experience.“

“The only complaint that I have about this place is how hard it is to get into. They are always packed and there's always an issue with parking, but that's because of how damn good thier barbecue is. I know there's some very well-known and well established barbecue institutions in this great city of ours and please know that I am not trying to disparage them; that being said "The Pit Room" is simply better. no matter what I try from the brisket to the sausage or even the ribs. I can't think of anyone in town who has better in any of these categories. If you love barbecue and you're not in a hurry come and visit this soon to be Houston institution!!!“

“Such good bbq! The line is worth the wait. We first attempted eating here on a Friday night and they had closed early because they were already out of food - this was a sign that we NEEDED to try again, so we came Sunday for a late lunch. I recommend the glazed ribs and brisket.“

“Wow!!! Excellent smoked brisket. Super generous portions. $14 feed my friend and I, no way I could finish the brisket grilled cheese by myself. Although the brisket needs no BBQ sauce, the sauce they make is fire. I pray they bottle their BBQ sauce one day. The owner was super cool and blessed us with stickers in addition to the fabulous food. My friend recommended them, and El Pobre Tex Mex BBQ did NOT disappoint. Highly recommend. I will be comparing all other smoked brisket to El Pobre. Counting the days until I can share a smoked brisket grilled cheese with a friend again.“

“The vibe was good, as well as service. But the food is ordinary, we ordered Karnivore platter. Based on the quality and taste of the food, this place is overpriced. Cocktails taste good but a little bit expensive. Overall, it was okay.Parking: $7 valet parking“

“My wife and I wanted to try a new barbecue spot. This one was 10/10 amazing. Yes there's a line but it goes quickly. Well worth the wait. We had the 3 meat combo. The Mac and cheese was the best so was the tater tot casserole. The ribs were on point really everything here was on point including the tea. Worth the 40 minute drive for us.“

“I went in for the first time this afternoon and ordered a chicken potato. Most BBQ places burn the potato and throw a bunch of toppings on to cover it up. This potato was soft and perfectly cooked. The chicken was diced and held the smoke. The toppings weren't overwhelming and complimented the potato and chicken. The staff was friendly and my associate and I had some good convo when they checked on us. Please support and check out Guillory's Bar B Que.“

“Luloo’s Day & Night is the latest culinary sensation from the talented trio behind Blood Bros BBQ, and let me tell you, it lives up to the hype. After hearing my friends rave about it, I couldn't resist checking it out for myself, and I'm so glad I did.One bite of their Cheeseburger made with 44 Farms beef, and I was hooked. The flavor was out of this world, and you could tell that every ingredient was of the highest quality. My friend opted for the Fried chicken sandwich, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. Juicy, flavorful, and downright delicious. But the goodness didn't stop there. We indulged in the highly recommended Cinnamon roll bread pudding and an oatmeal cream pie for dessert, and both were absolute showstoppers. It's clear that everything on their menu is crafted with care and attention to detail, with the bakery located upstairs ensuring that every bite is fresh and flavorful.Speaking of the menu, it's truly impressive. From a vast selection of sandwiches and wraps to salads and a solid kid's menu, there's something for everyone at Luloo’s Day & Night. And did I mention that everything is made in-house daily? It doesn't get much better than that.In conclusion, if you haven't already, do yourself a favor and run, don't walk, to Luloo’s Day & Night. You won't regret it.“

“This was my first visit here and it was perfect. I ordered the combo plate made up of brisket, sausage, potato salad, and slaw. It was all excellent. But their brisket is beyond excellent. It had the perfect amount of bark and the taste was superb. I was in bbq heaven. I loved the sides and the service was spot on, both prompt and friendly. I will be back!!“

“Bowls were good. I got the Beef Sukiyaki and my aunt got the Garlic Shrimp Bowl. We also got three appetizers: the fried pork gyoza, cheese corn, and the garlic edamame. The only one that was good is the fried pork gyoza. I don’t recommend the other two.Our waitress was great though. Very nice and informative.“

“The food and experience here are outstanding. My wife and I have been here a few times now, and it was great every time. It's a little pricey for Korean BBQ, but definitely worth going at least once. Everything on the menu is delicious!“

“Victor was very attentive. Not only was it my first visit but I was alone and he made both experiences enjoyable. There was another male waiter who was extremely helpful as well but I didn’t catch his name. 4 stars because I personally would have liked more veggie options but their buffet is loaded and everything was tasty!“

“Discovered Roegels in Katy a month ago. Planning to meet a good friend soon at the Voss Rd location. I knew Russell Roegel years ago when I worked in the Galleria area. Loved his food when it was Bakers Ribs and he has done it again but much better with his own restaurant at that same inner city location. I love love it and you will too. Support this American Veteran and try his BBQ. You will go back for more.“

“Small store, always crowded, it is good for both dine in and takeaway. Roasted pork belly is just right, not too dry, not too salty. I dont try roasted duck here but heard many good things about them. The large box comes with fried rice / white rice and 2 meats, its is good portion for one, maybe you can split into 2 portions for lunch and dinner. If you dine in, they have puerh tea to help you digest with all fatty from duck and pork. Free. Parking is always filled up on the ground, be ready to park upstairs at no cost.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at Hongdae 33 Korean BBQ, an all-you-can-eat gem in the heart of Houston. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the get-go, the array of flavors and dishes on offer was impressive, providing an authentic taste of Korean cuisine. The quality of the meats was top-notch, with a wide variety to choose from, ensuring every bite was as delicious as the last. What stood out was the staff's dedication to service, ensuring our plates were never empty and our questions never unanswered. Hongdae 33 has mastered the balance between quantity and quality, making it a must-visit for any Korean BBQ aficionado or anyone looking to delve into the rich flavors of Korea. Highly recommended!“

“Almost but not quite there. Ordered the chicken tenders -- the chicken was juicy and plentiful BUT the batter was soggy / falling off in some parts. Also tried the chicken nuggets which had the opposite problem. Nice crispy batter but not enough chicken inside. The sweet potato waffle fries were delicious but could have used a bit more crisp. The dragon fries (seasoned) had a nice texture but just a little too much salt (and I like salt). One thing that I absolutely loved about this place is that they offer a kale salad as a side! I'm the type of person who likes getting a healthy/nutritious side when they pig out on fried food to feel less guilty. The kale salad was also really tasty. Ultimately, pretty good but I think the food could benefit from a few adjustments.“

“I have been coming here for years and find the food consistently delicious. The service was great and the staff were extra kind to our kids. The bulgogi and pork belly were cooked well and tasted amazing with the dipping sauce and lettuce salad they provided. “Great flavor but the quantity is a bit small and the price is too high. Normally this plate runs at $12 with more slices on it. Very good flavor, very original but the quantity is very little for the price. Normally a dish like this costs $12 and contains more slices.“
“As a thank you to our employees for working so hard during the holidays, we set up a BBQ lunch - at two different locations. Daniel at HCGSBC is THE BEST. He hooked us up better than I could have asked for. EVERYONE was raving about the food - but especially the brisket. We will definitely be return customers. Daniel, thank you for making these two lunches absolutely fantastic.“

“This is a fine restaurant sort of a throwback to and earlier time. The food is delicious I think their fried chicken is the best in town. The one thing I think they can improve on is their salads and the desserts are delicious. The staff are warm and friendly providing prompt service. “One of the better AYCE KBBQ spots in Houston. The dinning area is very large so we've never had trouble seating and we’ve never felt rushed like some other places. They have a button you can push and a waitress will quickly come to take your order for more meat. While there are a lot of options you can self-serve like the bulgogi and spicy pork, the better options are ordered. The beef tongue is my favorite. Beef belly, pork belly, pork cheeks, galbi and beef brisket are all good too. One lesser known option is the pineapple galbi, it's a relatively large cut of meat and the pineapple is great grilled. We like to order the pineapple separately as first dessert before the ice cream.Parking: Large lot in the shopping center. There's always enough parking.Kid-friendliness: Kids 5-10 are $17.99, which isn't bad if they are closer to 10 and eat enough.“

“We visited Sunday around 12 pm . When we first arrived it wasn't busy at all by 1230 it was very busy! You order at the counter and seat yourself. All the food on the menu look soooo good! We ordered from their brunch menu. The food came out fast and was delicious! They establishment is big! They have plenty of seating and a patio where live music was playing. We sat inside because it was kind of chilly . They do have their own parking which was nice. We are definitely coming back!“

“Been here a handful of time but I can confidently say that if you are looking for affordable, but still delicious, AYCE KBBQ, then Garosu is the spot in Bellaire. Solid choice for a day date, at night can get a little frustrating with understaffing. They had an amazing lunch special and the service was amazing. One thing that I was surprised to see they offered a lot of banchan which I actually like to see. If you have a bigger party and a reservation, they have these room in the back for you which I really enjoyed the rooms modest decor. Otherwise the main dining hall is very spacious, and dimmed. One thing that I did find a little uncomfortable was the tables. I am a taller person at 6' 2", so I am sort of used to it but their leg room is very limited, because of the grill, and got uncomfortable pretty quickly, but sitting alone obviously has all the space for yourself.“
“Chill fun easygoing dive bar w/ great people and service! They don’t normally sell food, but they tend to have food trucks or Thursdays they have steak night (Amexicun)! That support the local community and have some fun gumbo and chili cook offs!“
“I came across this stand at the freedom over Texas festival. “I'm a regular customer of Longhorn Steakhouse, usually every Sunday morning. My favorite waitress is V she always takes care of me and she knows my order by heart. I ordered my normal and 8 oz sirloin butterflied baked potato and a salad. I eat half take the other half I take home always. This Sunday morning , I go to the restroom I come back and my table's cleared. V ask what happened I said I don't know, she said I'll be right back. She comes back with the manager who told me he cleared the table because he thought I was done. Mind you a full baked potato a little more than a half a steak and bread, full glass of tea, but you thought I was done. He offered to make another steak and take it to go I said okay I waited 15 more minutes and I didn't cause a scene, things happen. Later on that evening I go to eat my food and this is what I received... a large box with a Slither of steak with a hole in it and a potato. Are you serious you make the mistake and throw my food away and this is what you give me to replace my food!! This is absolutely unacceptable!! Below I've shared the pictures of how he replaced my meal. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. I was Furious when I saw this!! It looks like somebody's left overs but they weren't mine. Absolutely unacceptable, there is no excuse for this! And I haven't been back since. Unbelievable???“

“Man food was SO good, affordable and nice customer service! I wish i took pictures of the food. I had ribs, brisket and jalapeño and cheese sausage with spicy corn, cabbage and jalapeño corn bread. I should have put hot sauce on my corn to give it a kick. The corn was fresh, and obviously not frozen or canned and moderately sweet. The cabbage has bacon and bits of sausage in it, which is what was listed on the menu, but I was surprised that there was a bit of a vinegar taste so i liked it better when I had a bite of brisket along with the cabbage on the fork with each bite. It was soooo good. I loved all my meat and the barbecue sauce was good.My husband got the same meat except his sausage was not jalapeño flavored and it tasted average and pretty boring so I was glad I got what I picked. His side of macaroni was not as good as I thought it was going to be and I did not try the pinto beans. The warm large thick cornbread with butter on top was so amazing!! I’m trying to explore more small business barbecue restaurants in right now. This one’s at the top! Next time I want to try the breakfast brisket n egg jalapeño biscuit! Thank you!“

“Best brisket in town, I would put it up against killens bbq. The place is small and gets busy during lunch time brisket is scrumptious and cream of corn has small little peppers now that give it a kick. Make sure you have an extra shirt because you will end up smelling like bbq. Also recommend their pbj sandwich ( pulled pork brisket and sausage on a warm ciabatta bun)“

“I was craving Korean food and I didn't want to drive all the way to the other side so I decided to give this place a try. I live close by and I always drive by this spot soooo.I actually am not a big fan of Korean bbq dining bc your entire body will smell like bbq after dining in.Walking in, I thought it was interesting bc it was totally a american brunch spot vibes not a kbbq vibe. They have areas specifically for bbq, and then the bar, the dining room and the outside patio.I personally really liked this layout. Their menu has a lot to choose from, mix of Korean food, Japanese and other American plates.I got the bulgogi rice cakes (spicy) and it was so good! It wasn't spicy spicy but it still have some spice to it. You can always go with mild. The flavor and portions were great. The egg on top really helped bc it was quite strongly seasoned. I ended up ordering a bowl of rice to eat with the leftover bulgogi. It was delicious.Overall I can see myself coming to this place again. Customer service was good and everyone was welcoming. They have separate parking lot which is great. Cool murals.“

“This place is a place you don’t want to miss out on! When they sell out they close up shop so first come first serve!! But my experience here was amazing!! Every day their menu changes so be prepared to try something you haven’t tried before. I showed up wanting a Smoke Prime Brisket burger but they didn’t sell it until Friday however they recommended me something totally different and it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten!! Also I forgot the mention the sides, the Mac and cheese and the prefect taste with good flavor and the jalapeño corn was way to amazing to not eat it all even though I was so full!! I forgot to take a picture due to everything tasted amazing!! Would recommend this place and can’t wait until I come back again!“
