“Have been coming here for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I've had their fajita, pastor, and barbacoa. All meats are very flavorful and delicious. Their quesadillas always hit the spot. Since my family is bigger now, we tend to get the special plate. It consists of a plate of meat with melted cheese on top and a stick of tortillas. If you're not a cheese person, you can get the regular plate, which is the meat and tortillas.“

“Such an authentic Sunday breakfast. You can get a bit of everything for a great price. The staff is very attentive, respectful and you feel at home. You can get something basic like eggs and weenies to mole, picadillo, chilaquiles, menudo to ensalada de nopales and a lot of other delicious dishes. The food is not only hot but refilled quickly. “The people operating the food truck were kind and it took roughly a bit over 5 mins to get my food after ordering. This is a to-go place, there are no tables or seats to sit and enjoy your meal. I didn't have any issues parking on a Saturday morning. I tried their breakfast tacos and they were good but I don't think the flour tortilla was homemade. Not a deal breaker for me but it was missing that extra touch. However, the tacos were at a great price point, I spent ~$15 for six of them. I would consider them again if I'm hungry near EaDo.“

The tortillas are hand made and really good. Parking is plentiful and wel lite. Service was quick and the coffee was really good. What I also like about this place is that they let you combine food from different plates on the menu to satisfy your own unique taste. Will definitely be coming back to try their lunch and dinner plates. One thing I would've like is if they had natural water flavors.“

“Needed a quick bite near the airport, and this did the trick. Got a torta with Milanesa, and a quesadilla with Tampiquena - both were very good. The torta was toasted, and the Milanesa worked well (I always have issues with the chopped meats falling off the torta on the way to my mouth, so a single slab of meat is much more efficient, as well as tasty). The Tampiquena was really good, had a strong smoky grilled flavor. The chips were crisp and fresh and the salsa was warm (never had that before but it was tomatoey and spicey). Service was great!“

“Growing up near the heights taco nazo on Fulton in north side has always been my go to when it came to tacos so I was shocked to find out there is a taco nazo on the Southside of houston. At first I thought it was an imposter but we came last night and they taste just like the ones in north side. Can someone confirm if NS taco nazo is the OG and these are simply relatives or what ? Food: the tacos and quesadillas were amazing. Top G. Just like the ones you get from taco nazo on Fulton. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The tacos and quesadillas seemed a little bit bigger too than the ones I am used to getting in the NS. They also have tortas at this location. You don't see that at the one in NS. I would definitely come back. They line wasn't as long as Ns either. They were very fast and nice. Got us in and out pretty quickly. I'll definitely come back to this SS location asap. Like asap rocky. If someone knows the history of taco nazo let me know. I've also been to the one on Longpoint it's good but the use different cheese and their tacos are tiny. I have also tried the one off Irvington. Pretty solid as well. Stop in and give them A try if you want some amazing tacos.“

“I go here pretty often when i need my taco fix. I would say on average itll take 8-10m for her to get your order ready. I had to leave a review because her beans actually have vienna sausages or hotdogs in them. The beans actually have spices and flavor to it compared to other trucks. I like it. Its good. “20 Degrees outside today and every restaurant was closed except this place. Thought I'd give it a try as I've never been here before. It was very good and everything was on point. I got the huevos rancheros with three eggs, beans, potatoes, bacon, and it came with Pancakes. Also got coffee. It was only $10! I think it was too cheap but very good. They need to go up on their prices as I know they have bills to pay. Left her a $10 tip on top of the ticket.I had to drive to the other end of town to find a restaurant that was open and this is the only one I can find because of freezing weather. Everybody was closed, but they were on duty and Cooks were ready to give you a good meal. I'll be back to enjoy the wonderful food.“

I've been twice so far, and both times I got the exact same thing: the full quesabirria with consome and some cilantro and onions. LOVED it. I think it's maybe $12 for a full order, but it's easily worth it IMO. Easy to just walk up, place your order, then either chill in your car or under the nice small sitting area they have. Once ready they'll call your number or you can walk up with your receipt and see if it's your order. Friendly staff, good prices for great food, and quick service. “El Trompo Loco is pretty much a staple of the Northeast/Eastside at this point with multiple locations in the area and for good reason: they almost never disappoint. Here you'll find a little bit of everything: tacos, burgers, quesadillas, tostadas, papas asadas(baked potatoes), tortas, burritos, etc and it all tastes very good. I'm not sure I'd come into a Trompo Loco expecting the most genuinely authentic Mexican food but they know what their Houston area patrons want and that's something that reminds them of home... or Northern Mexico street food, at least. The use of flour tortillas is plentiful but you won't get any complaints from me, they always deliver and their small tweaks to traditional dishes like the always-popular-at-big-parties favorite, frijoles charros. Always ask for the special version, they add cheese and diced meat to their already delicious beans and it just takes it up to another level. Pro tip: add some of their green salsa to the beans if you're in need for a spicy fix. Two other items off the menu I'd like to highlight: their tripas and their dori-queso tacos. They might serve the best tripas in the city if you know how to order them: Extra crispy, every time. And one of their newest additions are the dori-queso tacos, pretty much just a crispy tortilla filled with asadero cheese (the best for melting) and your choice of filling. I always go 2 bistec and 2 tripa for the best of both worlds. Lastly, they offer some of the best aguas frescas in town. Their horchata is sweet but not overly sweet and very refreshing and their pineapple agua fresca is to die for, especially when pairing with some crispy dori-queso tacos doused in their green salsa.. May have just given you my order. Use it wisely ;)“
