“Wonderful home cooking in a friendly cozy atmosphere! I had the Big Daddy Mac & Cheese. OMG-delish! Homemade creamed corn with the Mac n cheese and real barbecued brisket on top. It doesn’t get any better! Large portion too-I brought home at least 1/3 for lunch tomorrow. Don’t hesitate to give them a try!“

“Stacy was great. Real early, she was alone and running the whole place exceptionally well. Very kind with kids, greeting regulars and making new friends. More of an old diner experience than a Denny’s. Food was fresh and fast. Great place for a pitstop when in the area.“

“Still great value, even with the price increase ($22.95)for the Tuesday evening Prix Fixe menu. However, on our last 2 visits the food has not been up to the standard of prior visits: last time our food was cold and this time it was overdone.“

“Found this place by accident when I took a side by accident. Wife and tried the blackened tilapia and grilled turkey and cheese sandwich. Both were very good and the waitress was very friendly. Definitely will go again when passing through Salado.“

“I stopped by to grab lunch to go. I ordered a chicken fried steak & onion rings, which came with a little side salad & crackers. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a little country hole in the wall. I love these little places. The staff was friendly and hard working. About the food, I wasn't thrilled with my order, but it wasn't bad either. It was just ok. I think if I would've eaten there, it would have been better. Some foods just don't travel well. I plan on going back, and next time, I'll take the time to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.“

She was abrupt with us and curt.I believe she was annoyed with our group because we asked for separate checks. That seemed to set her off. She NEVER smiled even once. Food was okay but not what will entice us to drive 45 mins. again. I had several people who asked me to let them know what the restaurant was like. This is what I will tell them.
