“Currently on a quest to find the finest tacos in the Northwest/West region. I've have tried numerous options, and so far these currently stand out as the best. The prices are quite reasonable, and the campechana tacos with the green sauce are simply delicious. The frijoles charros are really tasty too.“

“It's been 3 years since we had taco truck tacos in San Antonio, although Tacos La Salsita are now pricing their tacos at $1.50, in comparison to just $1 per taco from 3 years ago, they're still the cheapest and still tasty compared to the other taco trucks around.“

“Guys definitely recommend this place. As soon as you come in you see all their cute and artisan tableware. We were greeted by the sweetest server as well. They had big food portions and weren't even able to finish all our food. They make their tortillas and bread at the restaurant. Greatly recommend their tortas they are delicious ? their tacos were huge too! ? they do offer mixed drinks and karaoke after 5 till they close so go on over and show some support to this small bussiness.“

“Just ate here for the first time. It was delicious! I had the Baja fish tacos with lime rice, and street corn. So much flavor, and different from what we have in Kerrville. Great atmosphere, and fun music. My 7 year old was dancing while eating his food.“

“Quick and exceptional service! You pay after eating and there's a trust system. They assume integrity among customers and don't hover. Food is priced well with good portions. Our party had 9 tacos and two drinks (large cups) for under $25.“

“Such an interesting experience. I read in the internet that the New York times mentioned this place as one of their 25 favorite places to eat in the whole US. When I arrived, the owner greeted me and sat me down at the only empty table. Took my order and brought me coffee. I started talking to him. Very nice man. Told me about his service in the navy, his work in the railroad. He sat down with me and ate a banana, probably his breakfast, and made feel like I was part of the family. Very interesting experience. The food? I forgot about it enjoying the experience. Let me tell you, that brisket is the best. Very nice and tasty smokey flavor. Definitely a unique experience.“

“I did not know this taco truck was right up the street from me until I was picking up a DoorDash order and it smelled so good. I went back and order and this is the best food I’ve tasted since being here in San Antonio for 7years. It was very much flavorful every bite. This will definitely be my go to spot for now on.“

“We went on a whim because Wynonna Judd ate there during the SA Rodeo and raved about the food!We were unprepared for the evening! Words do not do this restaurant justice! As soon as we opened the door, we knew we were in for a treat. We just didn't know how much of a treat! We were met at the door with smiles and welcoming us to the restaurant. We were shown to our 'white cloth' covered table; 'white cloth' rolled silverware and a small candle burning. But wait, there is more, much more!We were given menus, and we were given a chance to look before Ernesto, Jr. was at our table, introducing himself as the owner and telling us what the specials were and all the wonderful sauces that he cooked to 'perfection'! The way he described each sauce would make you want to 'lick the skillet'! Our food was hot and delicious! The hospitality was phenomenal! Do yourself a favor and make plans to go eat there! All I have to say is, Thank You Wynonna Judd'!“

“This taco truck was absolutely delicious! My husband and I were visiting San Antonio and found this place. Their tacos are amazing, probably some of the best tacos I’ve had in San Antonio. I have not had tacos that good in a long time. The tortillas that they use for their tacos are the cherry on top for me. We tried the tacos with the queso and our choice of filling. Their lemonade was very good too!“

“Well, we’re over from England celebrating my 70th birthday and the meal here this evening was easily the best by far. It will not and cannot be exceeded for the rest of our three week trip. The rib-eye was so well cooked and the mushrooms were elevated to a flavour level that I didn’t think mushrooms could reach. My wife’s fish tacos were equally as wonderful and have been recorded as having reached legendary status. Edward the chef and joint owner has a superb palate and clearly knows how to put a dish together. We’re leaving first thing tomorrow morning. If we weren’t we’d be back. Too late to change our plans. What a shame.Just go and go again. This has been the highlight of dining out not just of this trip but perhaps of all time.“

“This was a wonderful experience. Staff were nice and out in the crowd taking care of garbage and dishes. The drink list was vast, and the live music was at a good level. There were customers of al ages and walks of life. Only negative i have is that some of the decor is quite faded and could really use a refresh.“

“Delicious tacos! The price is not too bad. The only downside is that I waited about an hour to order and get my food. Maybe getting more employees would help ease the wait. When I left, the ordering line had about 20 people or more. Oh, and the Birria Pizzadilla is $15, but they charged me $16.“

“San Taco has some of the best authentic Mexican food and service in San Antonio. A HIDDEN GEM. The restaurant is well kept and clean. Limited indoor seating and parking. I ordered a frijolitos con veneno, chilaquiles san taco, tacos, and a cafe de olla. The food came out fast and fresh. Everything tasted amazing. I also got free churros. The prices are also great. Cant wait to come back and try more!“

It's a great place.Kid-friendliness: ALWAYS makes conversation with us and our Granddaughter. Some mornings our youngest daughter calls me and says Mama you wanna do Nadines??? I'm like yeaaaah. “Restaurant responded with grace and class when I messed up my reservation. I reserved an "Other" table not realizing this would be hightop in the bar - the restaurant was unable to offer an alternative table as they were full and needed to honor other reservations. However, they did come over and let us know that they would not be charging for our appetizers, something they did not need to do, but which made a very nice difference to our experience. And so to the food - delicious! My only reservation was that the fish in the cervice was a little mushy, but the flavor was still excellent. The other appetizer was delicious, as were the Chicken Asada and the Enchiladas entrees. The warm brownies with a scoop of a superior ice cream was a great way to finish. PS - we had tacos at the bar earlier in the week - that experience is what drove us back for dinner.“

“I've eaten here about 3 times already after seeing a picture of some enchiladas posted on FB's San Antonio Restaurants and decided to give it a try one night. Needless to say, I'm sold! Enchilada gravy isn't overpowered by cumin, the carne guisada is soft and creamy, and their corn tortillas are thick and soft. I've had their enchiladas and puffy taco combo (didn't get a picture, I inhaled it!) And I've had the huevos rancheros with barbacoa. Tonight I'm getting the beef fajitas with enchiladas combo and I'm pretty pumped. I recommend getting the "Ranchero sauce" with your house chips, it's got the right about of spice to it that it won't kill your tastebuds!“

Very good the masa was not so thick the masa was moist not dry and the pork inside was to die for! The menu offered a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes, each bursting with authentic taste and fresh ingredients. The ambiance was lively, yet cozy, making it the perfect spot for a casual dinner or celebration. I highly recommend trying their signature margaritas and for dessert, you have to try the conchas; they were simply divine! “We had people in town from out of state who requested great tacos and we went right to this spot. I could tell they were surprised when we pulled up to a food truck but once they tried the food, they understood. Two of us got the mini tacos (which I love) and the other two got a torta which they said was amazing. We also got corn in a cup and charro beans to split which were also great!“
“The best Mexican style nixtamal corn tortillas. At Tortilleria Valeria you can find:- Tortillas for mini tacos in two sizes.- Yellow nixtamal tortilla- White corn tortilla- Flour tortilla. The tortillas do not become hard when reheated, they always retain their softness and flavor. “I ordered the breakfast total which had amazing refried beans, flavorful chorizo and eggs on a toasty bolillo bun. It was topped with fresh avocado and sprinkled with queso fresco. I added the green chile from the squeeze bottle, which was obvious homemade. It needed NOTHING!Parking: The parking is a little tricky to navigate as it is located on the other side of the adjacent building.“

“My partner & I had the best time here!! We are speakeasy enthusiast and when I saw this one I had to check it out! To start off, the speakeasy entrance is inside the Taqueria. The Taqueria for food doesn't take reservations, only the speakeasy. We had a reservation for a friday night at 9 pm. We got there a bit early to eat, after we were done we mentioned to server that we had reservations to speakeasy. They allowed us to enter speakeasy thru ‘hidden' entrance, and the bar was so cute! It was dark which gave it that speakeasy feel. The music was loud but we could still hold a conversation without yelling. The menu was limited but the drinks were so good! They also came pretty quickly, when ordered. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return!!! One of the coolest cocktail bars ever!!“

“Great place to go. You can feed one to a family of four. Not much to choose from which makes it easier. There are burgers and fries for the kids but the name of the place is what you go for. My go to is the meal for two people with half a chicken, beef fajitas half a pound, and a sausage. Yum! Along with it is a side of charro beans, rice, and corn tortillas. I’m not a drinker so for those looking for a beer and dinner this is not the place for it. Family friendly. They do have two locations on Culebra, the newer place is less busy. Must check it out. I think the food is moderately priced. The meal for two, I pay $30 before tip.I’ll post a pic if I find one. I forgot to take one when I was there for dinner 7/25/23.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and noise is welcome.Parking: If it’s busy remember there is another location maybe six blocks down the road on Culebra and Colorado.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy accessible parking and entrance.“

“Found another hidden gem here on culebra and Ingram rd. In a shopping center. I ordered mini asada tacos, I wanted the plate but miss communication on my part and just got the tacos. They were very flavorful and good. Came with cilantro and onion. Salsa was hot and good as well. Place is very clean, service was fast and they speak English and Spanish. You can order to go or you can sit down and eat. I will visit again and next time try their beans and rice. If you are in the area you can check them out. You won’t be disappointed !“

“There are plenty of well known "Tortillerias" around town that also feature Tamale and Barbacoa on their menu. I'm not going to bother naming them, but I will categorilly state that Del Rio is now my go to place for "Barbacoa, Tortilla, & Tamale" fix!The "Special" barbacoa is essentially the "All Meat" barbacoa for the purist that prefers less fat in their barbacoa. I consider myself an "All Meat" purist, and I can say that this is one delicious barbacoa! And priced for less than $12, you won't find a better tasting barbacoa at this price. The tamales are also reasonably priced for less than $12 a dozen. However, these tamales are on the smaller size compared to other tamales. However, what they lack in "volume" is more than made up in the superb "quality" of the tamales. The tamales are delicious AND the only tamales that consistently slide out the husk with no need to use any utensil to slide them out of their husk. The tortillas are also one of the best I've sampled. Both corn and flour also are incredibly easy to reheat. Be warned, these tortillas have no preservatives and must be refrigerated in order to store them once you decide to store them. The only criticism is that this is a "Tortilleria" and not a restaurant. No dining is provided and you can only order your food to go.This is one of those establishments where they will sell out of their products and you need to make an effort to arrive early in order to purchase what you want. The lines do move quickly, thanks to the 5 cashiers they have to process your order. Despite their high volume, the staff are courteous and helpful, letting you know of any deals that may save you money.I live near the Medical Center, in the NW side of town. But I now drive across town to this wonderful "Southside" hole in the wall to get my weekly fix of Tamales, Barbacoa, and Tortillas for the week.I highly recommend this Tortilleria. You may become an enthusiastic customer like me! Definitely, a 5 Star rating!“
“I have been getting flour tortillas from here for many years. Always fresh and tastes great. My grandkids love them. These get shipped to NC to a family member and also took some to TN to give to a Bed & Breakfast place when on vacation. There is no comparison when it comes to La Luz flour tortillas in San Antonio, Texas. Usually pick up some once a week. Keep up the good work.“
