“This was my last meal on my visit to San Antonio, and boy it didn't disappoint. The food and service were excellent! I had breakfast on that visit. I can't wait to come back and try lunch or dinner at this restaurant. 5 stars all the way!“
“Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is a taste sensation! Their chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The no-frills atmosphere adds to the charm, making it the perfect spot for a casual and satisfying meal.“
“My wife and I go to Maple Street every week without fail. The food is always amazing. I usually get the egg bowl and my wife loves their chicken tenders - We always have to get extra biscuits because she won't share hers. The place feels so welcoming and friendly every time we're there. We've never had a bad visit. It's just a great place to eat and feel good. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food and a nice atmosphere.“
“Really great food! I got the sesame chicken and it was cooked very well and more than filling! Very satisfying food! Definitely coming back! The service was very good too and I loved talking to the workers. Great ambient vibe and fun atmosphere.“
“Pack your bags and immediately go to El Monte for the best BBQ that you’ll be tasting. Tender, juicy, smoky, and did I mention tender? It was Easter Sunday. They were open for another hour. We were hungry. We headed there after some birding at Government Canyon State Natural Area. No yellow-cheeked warblers today, but we were okay with it because we did get ribs, sausage, Barbacoa tacos with fresh tortillas, creamed corn, and coconut cake at El Monte’s BBQ. The owner and staff were so friendly. The owner even showed us the smoker, which his dad had made from a propane tank in 1978. Having this history to go along with the meal was really special. The owner even gave us some brisket burnt ends to try. Wowza!!! I’ve tasted nothing like this in my life. The smoke was perfect. The seasoning was right on. Thank you El Monte!!“
“We come here every week and are NEVER disappointed! They make their biscuits and OJ all right on the spot. But that jam is what will steal your heart. Sweet, fruity, and perfectly complementary to smashbrowns and biscuits alike. We usually grab a retro plate or a biscuit sandwich. Hits the spot every time. There's a nice tall guy we usually see working magic back there - give the man a raise!“
“If you are looking to get off the beaten path and have an amazing bar experience this is the place! This is a house converted into a bar, it’s In a weird part of town - definitely take a cab or ride-share. Amazing craft cocktails, eclectic setting, and friendly locals. Highly recommend.“
“I tried the pork tamales today for the first time; they are delicious! They have a great flavor and are quality made. I tried the creamy jalapeno sauce on them and it gives them a great kick of spice! I will definitely be getting my tamales from La Hacienda Tamales from now on!“
“It's one of the best Texas BBQ in town. The meats are very tender, juicy, and delicious. The meat marinated in a thick molasses-based sauce that gives the meat a sweet and moist flavor. Excellent customer service with plenty of tables available for dining.“
“Love the atmosphere, sleek, stylish, great wine list. We had a green salad and french onion soup app, both excellent. My husband had the veal stroganoff special and loved it, my salmon was perfectly cooked, though a little salty. Creme brulee dessert was yum, and our server was the best. Hilarious, non-obtrusive, attentive. They also have a large party space (like 8-12) and a party space (advertised as 50+ ppl) that look really nice. Overall loved it. Great gem in San Antonio!“
“Good experience overall. I went for the first time ever today with my dad and step mom and they messed our burgers up. Fortunately they remade the burgers and gave us fresh fries which made me more than happy. Additionally they treated us to some shakes which is why I wanted to leave the review. They made it more than right and went above and beyond to do so.“
