“One of my FAVORITE outside of the box spots! Great food, very kind people, good bar selection & the whole place in general is nice. Im brisket pickey & I absolutely LOVE it from here. But don’t be disappointed if you get here & they are sold out bcs DAMN everything is THAT good!! Just means you gotta get here earlier ;)“
“Food was great! The sauce just added to the meat but did not over power it. Brisket almost just did melted in the mouth. Great place. Going to bring some more friends over. cash only. I got the 4 meat plate and it was way more food then expected. Awesome value and food for the price. Forgot to take a before pic, so it's a pic of my half eaten plate. Opps“
“Good atmosphere and the service is excellent, the young woman who served us was very friendly and tried to speak a little Spanish, the place is very clean and when paying you can see her impeccable kitchen. The brisket was soft and very juicy as was the chicken, their desserts were delicious, it is our first time and I will definitely return. My son commented that the bathroom was very clean.“
“Food was absolutely incredible and workers are kind. Restaurant is clean and cozy! Pork ribs fell off. the. bone. Absolute perfection. Not chewy. Brisket was melt in your mouth delicious. House bbq sauce is the perfect match for the brisket. Cole slaw was tangy (as advertised), crunchy, and not too sweet. Beans were smoky and delicious! Also tried the bread pudding which was topped with a cream cheese icing and a berry jam. This place is absolutely worth every penny!“
“Best BBQ in SA that I've had so far!I've tried a lot of BBQ here in Sa, and am always disappointed, but this was some incredible BBQ!The chopped brisket was very flavorful, the sausage was really good, and the chicken Quarters were juicy, cooked perfectly and has great flavor as well!I love supporting local, and this place is exactly why! The service was great, very polite and efficient. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would, and I can't wait to go back again!“
“Was Hungry looking for something i Haven’t had before and Stumbled across this place . Read the Reviews and instantly thought CAP! lol but I was Wrong the Food was Bomb , everything was so flavorful from the food to the Lemonade ( which I would say is a MUST TRY! ) Most definitely will be returning ✨??“
“The food was absolutely delicious. The service was just as amazing. Yes, you will probably have to wait in line longer than you'd like, but I'm sure most people will agree that the food is worth the wait. The staff acknowledges the long wait times and frequently handed back samples for everyone in line. There is adequate seating both indoors and outdoors. A good selection of drinks and PLEASE try to the brisket and/or the pork belly.“
“I will say, once you get past the initial feeling of being overwhelmed trying to figure it all out, it's not so bad. I felt like the server did an okay job of explaining things, but I got confused and very overwhelmed at first. You order a soup base, and all your add-ins. If you get both ramen/soup and the grill items, it's $5 extra. You can order from both menus. You only get one broth so make sure you like what you choose. Everything else was fine. I would stick with just the steak next time. I felt like the lamb was really grainy, and unless you season your chicken and salmon, they're really bland. Everyone seemed to be having a good time around us, and they flip tables fast. Don't know if I personally would go back, but it was a good experience.“
“It is my first time in San Antonio and my family said I had to come here. Everything was delicious. I had the ribs combo platter. It was so good. I had a bite of the brisket grilled cheese. I am trying to figure out how to get that back to Orlando with me. The banana pudding was the perfect ending. Thank you for an awesome lunch.“
“They came by our apts today, super nice, food was seriously on point.. we caught them as they were gonna get ready to head out and we’re blessed with xtra rice, beans, and Mac.. Customer service goes a long way and they def got that covered.. 3rs Fri of the mnth you can find em at the Wal Mart parking lot off De Zavala and I-10.. Prices are very reasonable and def fair for the quality your getting..Thank you guys for making our Fri night dinner an awesome one“
“There’s a lot to love here - from the friendly counter service to the quick cleanup of (outdoor only) tables. Plus, the female pitmaster does an outstanding job with all the fantastic smoked meats. Don’t miss the sides either! I miss the pre-pandemic indoor seating, though.Vegetarian options: I’ve had vegetarians in my parties and they always are happy with the choices of sides.“
“Cool bbq food truck connected to McIntyre’s bar. It was my gf and my first time visiting each last Sunday, 4/7, and we weren’t disappointed!Great customer service from the 2 guys working the truck, friendly & courteous. ☺️ I got the medium nachos with half pulled pork, half brisket, and it came with pico de gallo & queso (skipped the jalapeños)— great portioning and super delicious! I don’t really taste that the queso was “smoked” as they call it, but really good! ? I also got a sausage tortilla wrap and it was one of the best ??Gf got the brisket sandwich and a sausage link to put in her sandwich. She enjoyed every bite and was sad when it was gone. All the bbq had great flavor, was juicy and tender! We loved the food & vibes so much we came back on Tuesday, 4/9 for our anniversary because they said Tuesday was their steak night where they have more tasty sides! Although I wanted the steak, I opted for a brisket sandwich this time & my gf got the same. Even more delicious than the first time ???“
“I stopped in for a quick lunch by myself and decided to sit in instead of takeout. Simple Korean lunch of kalbi ribs, and banchan for 20 bucks?! You simply can’t go wrong with this place. All the banchan dishes were phenomenal and the beef was tender and tasty. Definitely coming back.“
“Give this place a shot! The brisket and ribs are great, wife loves the pulled pork tacos! No complaints and this BBQ rivals (better) than brick and mortar establishments such as R_dys or Sm_key Mo’s. They know what they’re doing for sure! MAKE SURE you go early enough, they sell out quickly of random items (small batches) early bird gets the worm!“
“Had never tried this place even though I've lived within walking distance. Decided to give it a go and it was amazing. The service was awesome, very friendly staff and food was ready so quick! Ordered a few different meats and sides and almost every single item was fantastic. The green beans could've used a little more seasoning but everything else was so good. Jalapeño sausage was absolutely incredible, pulled pork was so good, mac and cheese was great and the fries were amazing. The environment and ambiance was actually very relaxed and comfortable. The price was very good for the amount of food there was on the plate. Would absolutely eat here again!“
“I ordered the three meat plate. Marble brisket, sausage, and chicken.Normally, I avoid chicken at barbecue places because it tends to be dry, but this chicken was perfection seasoned Well, yummy skin. Marbled brisket was tender, sausage had a nice crisp to the skin but juicy meat. Dee's beans were very good, and the star was the sweet potato casserole! It was such a treat. The honey mustard sauce was such a nice touch overall. Would recommend“
“First time in TR, great service! even the manager went to our table checking if we were good! We had to wait for an hour but I heard there is an APP where you can add yourself to the waiting list. Couldn't finish my steak (I was full), I wanted it well done but still had some red in it, but the taste was perfect. I already missed TR. They really make you feel special.Parking: Had to park in front of the chicken wings restaurant, it's far but not that far.“
“A delicious treat! They are a staple of the South side, and I love every bit of their hospitality, great portions, and delicious food! I haven't been inside, but from the pictures, i can tell it's well kept. The nice man at the window is patient. It's always crowded here and it's always number one in BBQ for us! Thanks! We'll be back!“
“We had a great meal with excellent service. One plate needed to be redone but it was done well and they handled it very professionally. Will be happy to return.Kid-friendliness: They were very kind and accommodating for our special needs son.“
“It was our first time there . Found it on TikTok as a food review. It was reviewed as the best Barbacoa. As soon as we walked in we were greeted . Makes you feel at home . Both people in front were friendly .It was a lot of food for a great price . Good barbacoa, tamales .Corn and flour tortillas . We will be going there every time we come back to San Antonio . 956 to the 210“
“Staff was very helpful with making suggestions. Food was fantastic. Served on styrofoam plates and plastic silverware. Wasn’t a problem for us. I had brisket nachos and husband had brisket combo. Ate outside because it was such a pleasant day.“
“Let me tell you about Pigpen in San Antonio - it's the kind of place that steals your heart faster than you can say "oink!" The first time I waltzed in, it was like stumbling upon a hidden gem - fairly empty, which I secretly loved. But let me warn you, every other time? Jam-packed, and for good reason! Now, onto the main event - the food. I dove into a plate of wings and a chicken slider, and let me just say, yum, yum, yum! It's like a flavor explosion in your mouth that makes you want to dance a little jig of joy. Finally, a spot serving up killer bar food that isn't just another taco joint - Pigpen, you're doing it oh-so-right!And let's not forget about the libations. We sipped on classic cocktails and beer all night long, thanks to the fabulous Courtney, our bartender extraordinaire. She's not just attentive, she's like your long-lost drinking buddy who knows exactly what you need before you even ask.But here's the real kicker - the nachos. Oh boy, oh boy, were we in for a treat! Brisket on everything? Yes, please! Pigpen knows what's up, and let me tell you, it's a flavor sensation you won't soon forget. So, do yourself a favor and trot on over to Pigpen immediately. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you later!“
“Love this place! The entertainment was great, the set up and the stage is nice and easy to see, and the staff is friendly and kind. it's also not ridiculously expensive! Most places for cover bands want to charge crazy money for a table or VIP experience, but this was very reasonable. We had a great table upfront and the table for two was only $50 for really high-quality entertainment. I didn't want no VIP package, I just wanted to listen to some good music, and the band Radio Journey was on point! They sang great rock hits from the 70s and 80s of course from Journey, but also Pat Benatar, Heart, Loverboy, Night Ranger, Van Halen and more!Anyway, great people, good place, reasonable prices; what more is there to say? check them out! You'll be glad you did!“
“I was born and raised on the west side of San Antonio. The place my father always went to closed down years ago and I have never found a better place until three years ago when I found this amazing little place. I used to live 3 blocks from here and stumbled on it my husband said let see what this little place is about. Like small in size big in flavor and service. These people are so kind welcoming and they have the best Barbacoa in the city hands down! I moved a few months ago out of the city limits but on Sundays I’m driving into town for this good! God bless them always. Truly genuine people.“
“Order pound of ribs, Mac and cheese, green beans, Mexican rice. They were super busy and ran it pretty good for being a small mom and pop shop. Ribs were good. Mac and cheese was okay. Green beans were so good! Wish they had the corn but they ran “
“Barbacoa was amazing. Service was amazing, great, family owned restaurant. They care about their customers. Barbacoa is not too fatty or greesy. Tortillas are fresh, and salsa has so much taste. They also give you chopped onions and cilantro, which the other rios don't.“
“Way underated...this is a weekly spot. The Gogi bowl is awesome but the wife likes the Hill Country... Bimimbop. Oh, get the wings too, a bit spicy, but awesome! Drive though is open but go in to make sure order is correct. Prices are very reasonable and fast.“
“Skip the lines, wait, and mediocre fare at Pinkertons and get on over to Rusty Bucket. Everything is delicious, service is speedy and friendly, and the Texan local ambiance is genuine. So glad I found this spot! Easy to get to, the 90 to Cupples Rd north. Free parking!!!Parking: On location.“
“I haven't had good brisket in a while! They stopped me and had me try a sample of brisket, tried it out, it was already heaven in my mouth. I had to order. Got myself the Brisket Sandwhich and oh boy, that was worth every penny. They definitely got me sold and I look forward to ordering more from them.“
“29 Dec 2023 This used to be called the St. Joseph's Society Hall or something close. We had our 25th wedding anniversary at this venue. That was 20 years ago. They still do events in the hall area. Now it's touted as Southtown Joe's, a cute little bar with pool tables, darts, electronic games and several TVs to watch sports. Our bartender Sondra was great. Personable, on point. There is karaoke Fridays at 8pm. Got off on a late start today, though. Oh well. It turned out OK. Go there.“
“Pack your bags and immediately go to El Monte for the best BBQ that you’ll be tasting. Tender, juicy, smoky, and did I mention tender? It was Easter Sunday. They were open for another hour. We were hungry. We headed there after some birding at Government Canyon State Natural Area. No yellow-cheeked warblers today, but we were okay with it because we did get ribs, sausage, Barbacoa tacos with fresh tortillas, creamed corn, and coconut cake at El Monte’s BBQ. The owner and staff were so friendly. The owner even showed us the smoker, which his dad had made from a propane tank in 1978. Having this history to go along with the meal was really special. The owner even gave us some brisket burnt ends to try. Wowza!!! I’ve tasted nothing like this in my life. The smoke was perfect. The seasoning was right on. Thank you El Monte!!“
“The most delicious brisket flavor full and lean sandwich have ever had in San Antonio!!!! Don't have a pic had to eat it quick. Easter Sunday and at work. This was a treat!! Thanks Adrian for cooking this delicious food on our side of town. Well be returning for sure!!!“
“Visited Today been wanting to for a while. 1 give this place a 9 out of 10 only because I felt the Brisquet Portions were somewhat small on the plates, but we did purchase addirional 2 pounds to go and that Brisket with that Bark is just Awesome!!!Overall it was very good and they are very friendly and welcoming.“
“You know I haven't been to an L&L in so long. It was always the place to get food to fill you up good local favorites. I have to say after not having L&L in so long it was such a treat to eat here again specially this location. The service was full of aloha and Kat was such a great part of our experience. I had the chicken katsu, musubi, and bbq chicken, everything was grindz! So good. I also loved the vibe and the decor inside made me feel like I was back home, local music playing and the delicious smells in the air. Also they have little get togethers in the back where they play music and eat and drink so cool. I definitely recommend trying this place if you're missing those bomb plate lunches.“
“I’m new to San antonio and was looking for a good barbacoa place, I found this one online and decided to try it. Pepe’s did not disappoint! The barbacoa was delicious, the price was good and the staff was so friendly! I would recommend to anyone in the San Antonio area!“

“Solid Pollos Asados. With some of the more famous places in town starting to slip in quality I decided to try this place close to home. The chicken was very good! Charro beans good though very salty. The rice is sadly sad. Just some rice boiled in Knorr. But I will still call this place my new go to for Char Chicken. Good job you guys. Staff was fine. Food came out quickly on a slow Sunday. Whole chicken, rice, beans, good fresh corn tortillas (probably from a local molino) a jalepeno, half a grilled onion (very good!) and two salsas. Ok you owe ma another red salsa! heehee. I got one red and one green but I should have got two reds. That stuff is great! Thanks you guys! all under 23 bucks.Parking: Small lot but still very doable.“
“My daughter was visiting so it was a great excuse to order takeout from Smokey Mo’s! This has been our “go-to” BBQ place since 2008. Always great food, prompt service, friendly staff. We ordered the Large Family pack so there would be leftovers, lol.“
“Stopped by to pick up a few items for a small get together. Wasn't sure what to get, so ordered a little bit of everything. Ordered 3 different types of turkey legs, Rice Cajun Attack, Turkey Baked Potato, and Mac Attack.Brought everything home and it was still hot. All the turkey legs had the meat fall off the bone. Each was very flavorful with their own unique taste. The side dishes were very large and perfect for sharing. I liked them all, but slightly preferred the baked potato.Nice food truck serving unique flavored turkey legs that also has good sides to go along with them.“
“I had the 1 meat plate with smoked turkey, spicy creamed corn, and potato salad. The turkey was ok - a little dry. The potato salad was a loaded baked potato in a cup. My husband had the 2 meat plate with sausage and marbled brisket along with okra and potato salad. The sausage was good. The brisket was tender.“
“We went in and waited a bit but it was our mistake for not making ourselves known. However Classic Cheeseburger was delicious. My girlfriend got the Tender meal and it was also delicious. The Cook/Waiter guy was friendly and made the visit awesome. Will definitely come back with friends and family.“
“I ordered Ay Que Rico to cater my son's wedding rehearsal. It was a destination wedding so I blindly chose them off the internet. From Rocio who took the order and handled giving me all of the information to Rico and his staff cooking/setting up, it was a breeze. It was the BEST food I could have ever asked for! Huge portions and every single thing delicious. We served 100 guests and probably received 200 compliments. They could not stop talking about it.I feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck! I cannot recommend them enough :)“
“Just stop in for our first time. Service was very quick. We order brisket, ribs and cream corn. The ribs were very dry and tough and we had to soak them in bbq sauce. The brisket and corn were very good. The brisket was cut thick and it was juice but was a little on the cold side. They gave free pickles, onions and bread which was a plus considering that bbq joints are charging now.“
“I took the wrong bus one night and ended up spending a few hours at this dive. They were understanding and let me charge my phone since I didn't have a portable charger and even bought me a couple of beers on the house. Before I had to catch the last bus on the line-up to head home I had a enlightening wonderful conversation with the head bartender who gave me a portable charger that was a life-saver! Thank you so much for your help, conversation, and the charger!“
“The spot is in a rough looking neighbourhood but the moment we pulled up on the parking on the front a friendly apron wearing man(aka the cook) greeted us, explaining the options we had to order. We ordered the brisket, chicken, ribs and various sides. The brisket was TOP TIER, moist and tender, the chicken juicy and falling off the bone? 10/10, the loaded potatoes were also incredible. Highly recommend the spot but just as a heads up it only has like 2 tables so dining in, although it is an option, is not what the spot is made for. Takeaway, of course, is the way to go (that’s what we did). As for the main man, Jay (the cook) THANK YOU for the delicious food, whenever you visit Greece make sure you text us so that we could link up again?-The Greeks“
“Ordered delivery from here for the first time and was very delighted with the results. We got a baked potato with pork burnt ends, and a brisket sandwich and some of the jalapeño cheese sausage. All of it was very good the sausage, especially because they cut it so thinly for some reason that made it better. will try this place in person next time.“
“Located at the end of a small shopping Plaza the fare is a simple menu. Fries, salads, chicken tenders and a few other staples. I ordered a margarita flight which was very tasty and the chicken tenders. They have a full bar and they emphasize their homemade sauces.“
“The GTO Burger is legit. The burger itself is juicy and flavorful, and then you add brisket, sausage, and jalapenos. All of those things together make this fantastic. There are so many other burgers and sandwiches to try plus meat plates. Very reasonably priced.“
“We have been going to Mo's since they opened the Stone Oak store. Most of the time I pick it up on my way home. When we have visitors we always have at least one family meal from them. Just like making it at home but a lot more convenient!“
“Unique pink house in kind of residential area. Friendly staff, but their soda machine was out of commission, so they couldn't even give us water, had to buy their bottled water. Thai curry place, with good meats. Everything was just a tad spicy (on par with Thai curries). Our party are not fan of this place, but I personally enjoyed the bowls.“
