The puree and and agua tigre that it came with was so flavorful and bright. We also had the roasted beets appetizer and it was good also! The beets were soft with crispy outside. “When you think of a restaurant located within a gas station, you might write it off as a "hole in the wall" place that sells greasy uninteresting food. That's not the case here. With any restaurant located in a gas station, there is no seating inside. You'll find benches outside to sit and eat, but this is probably best to take out and go back home or take back to work and eat. You don't really get too much from a service standpoint either. It's order and go. The food itself is amazing. The rice is freshly made and kept warm in the rice cooker (the way it SHOULD ALWAYS be). The chicken was crispy and spicy and full of flavor. Perhaps too flavorful, because I wanted to take a nap after eating. If you are in need a quick bite to go, stop by and get some!“

“I read Shaunda's post on the San Antonio Restaurant Facebook page and we headed over to try @puropanjaz Panamanian cuisine. It's a stone's throw from Toyota Field and Morgan's Wonderland, inside the convenience store at the Chevron gas station. Shaunda grew up cooking with grandma, a Panamanian-Jamaican influence. Please be patient as the great food takes time. She won first place on Food Network's cupcake wars and a graduate of CIA San Antonio. We tried everything on today's menu (see photo). Most flavorful were the oxtail, Arroz con Pollo, Empanada, and Panamanian Tamal. The chicken in the Pollo and Tamal was so moist. No surprise that Shaunda brines the chicken! The Patacones and Yucca Fries were great with Panamanian ketchup. She didn't have dessert today, but I look forward to trying the rum cake. Please stop by and support her business. There is limited seating. It was great running into James and Ryan, who also saw the post.“

“After over 10years of riding by this small molina I got off to get a hot off the grill corn tortilla. Informed fresh batch only on Thursday. Flour made elsewhere but server said quality very good. Knowing I had time to eat at busstop I ordered two barbacoa tacos. Corn tortillas small but you get two. Flour much bigger and yes very big, Each taco was overfilled with barbacoa which was little dry for my taste but very good. Two tacos by my guesstimation had well over half pound of meat. So I didn't finish on street. Great service. Lot information. Affordable prices. Reality is how much businesses like this have succumbed to times. Back in day we would drive around SA and be amazed by booming business of mass producing Hispanic food products which were so good. That was and is SA. God Bless!“

“My bad for not giving a review -- I came to Mi Casa in September because my older sister recommended this restaurant to my parents. I was super full from the breakfast, which was chorizo with eggs and potatoes hahaThe cool thing is that the tortillas are hand-made! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to eat a Mexican breakfast with fresh tortillas ^^Sorry for my Spanish and for not leaving a review -- I came to my house in September because my older sister recommended my parents. “Their food and service are still great. However, I noticed lately that the prices in the menu are not the prices at the register. The prices are higher at the register. Be careful and ask for your receipt. This is why they lost one ? star by me. I'm disappointed that they are doing this and I have to ask for a refund of the difference after I am charged a higher price. They are not happy that I do this, but I am not happy that their menus are not updated. ?“

“The only reason I am not rating this place perfect is only because nothing is perfect. The atmosphere and vibe of the staff is truly awesome. The servers (Crystal Cortez) was attentive and quick with her service while maintaining and professional and friendly demeanor. The chefs (Chef William and chef Camiño) at SoFrio are masters at their craft. The food is incredibly good while having some of the best prices for a restaurant downtown. This has easily become a favorite place for me to get some award winning food and drinks. If you have not been here, PLEASE do yourself a favor and hurry up!!! You DO NOT have to stay at the hotel to eat there!!!!“
