“Home Slice is the greatest diner in SW VA. The waitresses will call you honey, sugar, baby, or any combination of the three. The food is comfort food at its finest (biscuits and gravy are wonderful) and there's lots of old ads and posters on the walls. I love this place. My waistline, not so much. ?I haven't had any of their ice cream but it looks great too!“
“Try sushi for the first time here at Foresta. It was great looking forward to introducing more friends and family to sushi. ?Dietary restrictions: I asked about certain allergies that I have and they were polite and understanding.Kid-friendliness: My children enjoyed it.“
“We had dinner in the cellar. Friendly, quick service. Great wine recommendations. We had the deviled eggs appetizer (yum!). The New York steak was delicious. Also had a deconstructed chocolate pie for dessert. We loved this relaxing atmosphere and look forward to returning.“
“First time trying 128 Pecan. Went based on reviews. Well, they weren't lying!! This place is great! If you like a great burger, try the Jack's smash burger and parmesan fries. It will not disappoint. The hamburger is so tender and flavorful. The Parm fries are the best!! We will definitely be back. We usually pass on dessert but we had to try the blueberry cobbler and ice cream. It was not overly sweet which we enjoyed. Perfection!!“
“Great food, just a little pricey for what you get. Three of us went and got drinks, burgers, fries, and one added a small side salad (homemade dressing was great). With tip, came out to over $80. Apparently, they charge extra for fries (and there weren’t even that many), and the burgers themselves cost and more than most places we’ve been to that actually include the fries. Still recommend overall based on quality of food.“
“Oh my stars, this was so cool. The atmosphere was incredible because you're literally in a building established in the 1700s AND it's been maintained in as much historical glory as you could imagine. The food was excellent! Our waitress was even better! Highly recommended.“
“Sarah our server was so accommodating. We had a 12 year old at our table, it was his birthday. Sarah made sure it was a special dining experience for him and the rest of the party! The entire staff, Susanne the bartender, Willie the pastry chef, and the Head Chef made for the best evening! Lasting memories indeed! The Qs“
“Altho the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent and the meal arrived within a very reasonable time. The Scottish salmon was the best East Coast salmon I've ever eaten and exemplified the standard of quality all Rain's food. To me, Rain is the best restaurant in Abingdon from every standpoint.“
“I kinda like my fried fish to not taste like pancakes. It’s a sweet batter that helps if you get spicy.People are super nice, place is spotless clean & doesn’t smell like last summer’s fish fry.If your sense of flavor is more savory, might be a little sweet for you.“
“If you've ever been to Abingdon, VA, you'll know that there aren't many upper class restaurants to have business meetings for lunch. The Peppermill just happens to be one of the few in the eclectic and historic neighborhood. To that point, the restaurant is a converted 2 story house. The dinning rooms upstairs are literally the guest rooms. Hardwood floors throughout, it looks like a house right out of a movie - great atmosphere.I happened to have the Blue Cheese French Onion soup - VERY UNIQUE. I've honestly never had this combination before, but it works! Now be warned, the strong blue cheese and french onion may not work for everyone, but I happen to love blue cheese, and I love french onion soup, so it works for me.I had the Caesar salad. you had the pick of protein and i picked the steak medallions medium rare. Truly delectable, juicy, and very tender cut. it's the perfect balance of trying to eat healthy and indulging in steak for lunch at the same time. When you first arrive, the hostess will ask you if you are going to see a "show" also. the restaurant is associated with the very small movie theater and they may prioritize your service based on your showtime. Good option for entertainment if you're in town for "dinner and a show". I was here on biz for lunch, so no show for us.“
“I gave it 4.5 stars this time because the food wasn't as good as it was when we were there the first time. Service and atmosphere was great! I always enjoy visiting this store because of so much to offer, shopping, etc.Parking: Free parking lot! Wherever in the parking lot.“
“Easily visible from the street, this Waffle House had plenty of parking.Inside, the restaurant was clean and had a good amount of seating. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent (I had a waffle) and good value. This was definitely one of the nicer Waffle Houses I have been to.“
“This was my 1st time at JJ's restaurant...the food was absolutely amazing..from the appetizer to the entrees ..finished with cheesecake desert..to the blackberry tea..I was introduced to the owner by a precious friend..great personality..he and his wife trully have a hidden gem with their restaurant..well worth the detour if you are traveling or live or near Abingdin Virginia..“
