“THE EMPANADAS SLAP. I’m originally from out of town and I’ve been searching all over Charlottesville for a dish called Quesadillas Fritas. I came to this restaurant and got the chicken empanadas with cheese for takeout, and it was exactly what I’d been searching all over Cville for. I will certainly be coming back regularly from now on! (I wish I had a photo but I ate them all so quick ?)“
“Did a quick day trip to Charlottesville and was recommended to come here by a family member. The trip here did not disappoint! This was by far the best Peruvian chicken place I have had. The chicken was spiced well, and the sides that they had to offer were amazing. The poblano rice was my favorite! If I’m ever back in Charlottesville again, I will be coming back!“
“Wonderful taco truck!I think it cost me 3.50 per taco and honestly everything tasted so good! All tacos originally comes with corn tortillas but i think they can also do flour.Great bang for the buck, def ask for the spicy sauces because *chef's kiss*.They do accept cards and the staff was wonderful. The truck is located right next to the laundromat so its hard to miss.“
“this place is an experience in the best way. managed to get an early reservation on a friday night (heads up, they’re busy!) and so happy we did. service was super attentive, friendly, funny, and thoughtful. we sat at the high top with a view of the kitchen and bar which was a great time. and the food: delicious. we had the no carne versions of the tamale, coliflor, mole molido, and enfrijoladas and each was a delight. they were timed as courses perfectly and all had distinct flavors and notes. the margarita and mezcaltini were both on point. but then listen: the chocolate tres leches cake. I would go back for that alone. give this place a try, you’ll understand when you’re there.“
“We absolutely LOVE this place. First of all, the people who work here are always so friendly, you feel the hospitality from your first to your last interaction. The food is AWESOME. As a vegetarian I so appreciate the fried avocado taco, it’s my favorite thing ever (I choose corn tortillas). We came during a slightly busy time and took the last booth, a wonderful man named Raz took such great care of us. The booth was already clean but he cleaned it again for me and was so so kind and lovely, he was so incredibly attentive tidying up the dining room. We enjoyed meeting him so much I know I’ll look for him every time I come back. And this morning we came in for breakfast tacos and could not have been happier with meeting Eric the kitchen manager. He was so kind and happy, it really says something when the people who work at the establishment are happy and kind. Truly hospitality is deeply engrained in the people here.Vegetarian options: Potato egg and cheese breakfast taco, fried avocado taco, I do t know too much more because I love these so much they’re what I always get.“
“Huge fan of Fiesta Azteca! Best Mexican restaurant in Crozet. Be sure to get there early on a weekend, the parking lot can fill up quickly. I highly recommend!Parking: The parking lot can fill up and with no street parking you’re restricted to wait till someone leaves.“
“I'm just going to state the tacos are the best for many miles around. I'll bet they are some of best real Mexican tacos in VA. You're going to read "authentic" in every review about El Tako Nako and they are correct. It's a bit amusing when a reviewer comments about the "shells" or tortillas not being harder or crunchy. Just stop reading those reviews. They have no idea what Mexican food is about. They are correct in that the corn tortillas that El Tako Nako uses are doubled, very tasty and much larger than most street tacos but they definitely shouldn't be "hard" or crunchy ?.The meats, sauteed onions, fresh chopped onions, cilantro and all taco sauces are very very good. The hipster taco taco stops are not in the same league. Of course no one will notice, or care about, your new AirPods, iWatch, iPhone combo while you enjoy El Tako Nako's good food on their nice eating pavilion. Truly a must stop when passing by. Or a great out of the way trip for very good food! Try a Mexican Coke if you've never had one too.Parking: Easy parking. Right along the 29 on the north bound side. And you can cross over into and out of the parking lot.“
“I've been in Charlottesville for 3 years and to be frank this is the best Mexican food I've had here. It's reasonably priced, family-owned, and delicious. I had the carne asada and my friend had the chicken fajitas, both were fantastic. The location is a bit hidden inside of a larger building downtown, but it's without a doubt worth the visit.“
“They have the best birria tacos in town as well as the best service. But when it’s cloudy or light rain for an hour they are closed. They recently have been closed due to location switch. I can’t wait to see them open back up to give them my moneyyy…. Love their birria tacos. They are Chefs kiss ?“
“The supreme burrito experience. For basically the same price as a Chipotle burrito with radioactive levels of sodium, Barbie's Burrito Barn offers you a soulfully good newborn baby-sized burrito with pure ingredients. And the pico de gallo!! ?This place is the real deal“
“The tacos I've tried have all been good, I get the 3/$10 plate. I've never had to wait much longer than it takes to make them. There's a picnic table next to the truck-- it's convenient and less messy than eating in the car. It's not very atmospheric, but the location is convenient and if I want good food fast I'll always stop in.“
“We tried their half rack ribs and a quarter of chicken, for sides, we got rice and plantains, and for drinks, horchata and mexican coke. They’re all so good!!! The ribs were falling off the bones and have such unique sauce which we liked. The rice was a perfect pair for the meats and the plantains tasted fresh and not refried. We’d come back for sure.“
“As a fellow Mexican-American I think this place is better than the other places around. It had good food and good margaritas. Very authentic. Even that one crying Mexican child. Now I give it 4 stars bc I’m from texas. Now if they would add a spicier salsa that would be more authentic.“
“Went to Qdoba with the family after my kids basketball game. It was really clean and not packed at all for being lunch time on a Saturday. The food was great and my kids asked for more! Go here if you’re looking for a quick Mexican meal with good ingredients. I personally like the burritos.“
“What's not to like? The noise you say? Haha-too bad! That's part of the charm. This place has remained a Cville fave for many years and it's because the food is great and never changes. No frills, no silly hipster spins on a classic. My faves are the spinach enchiladas, the nachos & the tuna w crema but everything is good. You can't go wrong. I love that the entrees come w a pumpkin muffin-yummmm“
“The restaurant was beautifully decorated. It was busy enough that most of the tables were occupied but we waited less than five minutes for a table. The staff was super friendly. Food and drinks were both very tasty. It was also reasonably priced and had good portions.“
“Ice cold tacos served daily. Your go to for cooler than room temperature food served in a Where’s Waldo format. It’s kind of like warm tacos with all the flavor and melted cheese but the cheese isn’t melted and the flavors are muted by the cold food. I often wonder if this is intentional or they are pulling leftovers out of the fridge? This might be the new trend of restaurants!“
“As they bring the menus they also give you a basket full of warm chips with salsa (spicy is very spicy but good, I mixed two sauces). The menu is full of options like vegetarian, seafood, and much more. We went in an hour before closing and felt bad but people were keep coming in after us. The dishes were delicious and the portions were also very generous. Pictures are cheese enchilada, rice, bean, fish tacos, and chips.Vegetarian options: Plenty options“
“I stopped in for a snack and a margarita. The bartender, Nick, was great! Quick with service and just a good guy overall. He recommended the Avocado Minichangas (very similar to, but better than, the southwest egg rolls at a major restaurant that will not be named)which were really yummy. The habanero mango chutney was very good for dipping (ordered extra) and wasn't hot at all for those with sensitive pallets. Was too full to order a meal after that so I had chips, salsa, queso and guac. Guacamole was not the best I have ever had, but it was good. Queso was a good flavor but a bit runny. For beverage, I had their spicy margarita that came with slices of fresh jalapeño. Ok....confession....I had two. I would recommend the spicy matlrgarita but for those that are a bit sensitive to heat, you might want to choose a different option. Atmosphere was great and festive for a chilly February day. Love the bar decor and vibe. Ofunny. Definitely recommend!“
“Visited charlottesville for the weekend and WOW this place is amazing! We loved the atmosphere and the food was incredible! SO much flavor. We got the pasta el barco and levanta muertos. The margaritas were also to die for. They were very smooth and the glasses were gorgeous too. Truly wish we didn’t have to return home so we could experience this food for two nights in a row. 100% recommend!“
“Such a great place. I love that it has found an affordable home but it is sad that the home is in the mall. It's more of an issue with our current city situation and how nothing is affordable for small local business. Support these nice people it is important.“
“I contacted Farmacy regarding the catering of an event that was less than a week away. They got back to me very promptly over a holiday weekend, and the food was all as tasty as it gets and the vegetarian options were perfect. Can't thank the team enough!“
