Not only was my Mom (a very tough customer :)) thrilled with the sit-down dinner, but my siblings were satisfied. From the flowers, linens, tables and chairs, Heirloom took care of it all. “I needed to plan an event in Alexandria VA from Raleigh NC recently. I had no experience with any caterers in that area, and had never even been to the venue at which our workshop would be taking place. Contacting Sinplicity Catering was a VERY lucky break for me.Working with Lisa Anthony made everything so easy. She was very communicative and helped me navigate through ever-changing headcounts and dietary restrictions, made suggestions based on our budget, and was an all-around superstar.When we found out at the last minute that delivery drivers needed special clearance to access the space to set up, she was able to get us all the information we needed fast enough to ensure the background checks went through seamlessly.Our delivery folks, Herberth and Andy, were prompt and set everything up quickly and quietly and never disturbed the event going on in the same room. They were really delightful guys.The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, especially given the level of service we had. Everyone loved the food and were spotted taking the fun array of afternoon snacks with them to sub in for the boring airplane snacks they were sure to get on the way home.We ordered the Hearty Breakfast buffet with coffee, tea, and juices; then for lunch the Hickory House Hot Duo buffet with some vegan and vegetarian options; then for the afternoon, a selection of snacks including trail mix snack bags (with cute, custom M&Ms!), sinchex (homemade chex mix), and lots of their Taterdoodles cookies. We had tea, lemonade, cranberry lemonade, and some really delicious Arnold Palmers to accompany all of this.I seriously wish Lisa, Herberth, and Andy would move to Raleigh and set up a satellite branch of Sinplicity Catering so I could use them more!“

“We had a wonderful house party thanks to Root and Stem catering. They provided appetizers and desserts along with staffing. The figs wrapped with bacon, spanokopita, mezze platter and crab cakes were a hit. They spent time setting up the buffet tables for an elegant presentation. Their staff were attentive and professional.“

“In town visiting my daughter she made a reservation for us. Really cute decor. We arrived during happy hour had delicious potato skins, so flavorful. I enjoyed the jackfruit entree, big serving. Lots of unique choices with many gluten free options. I did not order a cocktail but they have a good variety. “The vegetarian options are lacking. I wish they had a “build your own” sandwich option online so I could make a veggie sandwich.Edit: while the vegetarian options are not to my family’s needs, they do have a few offerings that would appeal to some. Bumping my rating up to 4 stars!“

“We loved having SCOOPS2U for our wedding dessert. Theo was an awesome person to have as our ice cream guy. Zach was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The entire process was easy and exciting for our guests at the event. Would highly recommend them.“

“These pretzels were absolutely delicious. We tried the original, garlic, onion, and jalapeño varieties. The pretzel roll was also delicious. Note that these are made to order and that you'll need to order from the website and they'll bring them out to your car. The yellow and spicy brown mustard were good, but I hope that they'll offer a larger variety of dips (including some sweet ones like cinnamon sugar or chocolate icing) in the future. Prices were reasonable and allowed for us to try some flavors we wouldn't normally order.
