“Let me tell you! This might be my go to every time I come home to Portsmouth now!
I wanted to check out the casino and grab something to eat so we stopped in Yard House for the Poke Nachos. It happened to be happy hour and the bartender let me sample beer since I'm not a beer drinker. I really appreciated them letting me try before I buy!
We were seated in a booth and since it was Happy Hour, we ordered the poke nachos and brussel sprouts. Both were pretty good! Our waitress was getting trained, I think her name was TT. She was great! I would have never known she was new but her trainer was also amazing. Shot out to them two! I then ordered the beef bowl and my fiance ordered the wings. I really enjoyed the beef bowl but thought it was missing something so I added a light orangish sauce they had. I wish I remembered the name but it was bomb on top of the steak bowl. My fiance ordered the pepper wings and lemon pepper wings. They were both BOMB. Cooked to perfection and delicious flavor. The place was clean and had great views of the tvs every where! Happy Hour was half off appetizers until 6pm and the happy hour food was great options. You could eat a full dinner off the appetizer menu!”

“Went last night for my sisters birthday dinner. We arrived with more people in our party then we booked for and they were still super accommodating. My niece and I did the 2 for 60 deal, she got the lamb and I got the chicken. The food was amazing!! I wish I could remember our servers name, because he made the experience that much better! He was funny and made sure our whole party was well taken care of. There were 10 of us in total and he handled us all like a champ! 10/10 !”

“This review is long overdue! My sister and I decided to grab a bite before heading to the casino back in July. We found this gem! Food was AMAZING, staff was friendly, and the drinks were strong! We happened to come on karaoke night and had a blast! The owner sat and chatted with us a bit and made feel really welcome.

“Mom and Son Thai Kitchen is the best Thai restaurant that I’ve tried. My family loves it as do all the family and friends that I’ve recommended it to. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. I’ve always liked Thai food, but I LOVE the Thai food from Mom and Son Thai Kitchen. It is very fresh and full of flavor. Everything I’ve had tastes like it was made from scratch with love. My favorite dishes are the Thai fried rice, basil stir fry, Pad Kee Mao, and the Thai Noodle Soup. If you’ve never tried this place, go try it ASAP!”

“Pizza was great, the crust was incredible and the sauce to cheese ratio beats any chain pizza store. There’s an amazing level of authenticity to appreciate and the staff are incredibly hospitable! The garlic knots were a phenomenal starter while I built up my appetite for the meat lovers pie! Definitely will be back with family and friends!”

“Jerk chicken is always a great choice. Sometimes the sauce can be spicy, however I love it. You can get it on the side. The sides are always flavored well. Absolutely do not forget the cornbread. It is hitting on all cylinders!! I've tried other things and I have no complaints here. They have Jamaican drinks as well. Stop in and give it a try I definitely recommend!”

“So I was a hard core szechuan inn on portmouth blvd customer for YEARS... but after the pandemic sizes shrunk and costs skyrocketed. I decided to try other Asian places and didn't find anything great until last night.... I ordered the Large szechuan chicken, egg rolls and a Large hot and spicy soup. Best Hot and sour I've had in forever!!! Crispy eggrolls and very spicy and delicious szechuan chicken! Not to mention decent prices and generous proportions. Legit going back tonight to try a different dish and soup! We we very impressed with the vibrant flavors and quality of ingredients. Hands down best Chinese food in Churchland! Located over in the academy crossing shopping center where block buster used to be. Highly Recomend!”

“The food is amazing. Only place we go to since moving here and finding it! Prices aren't crazy either. However we end up with something missing or swapped every order. Still love them. We haven't addressed them about the mixups so I can't blame them, it's still reasonably priced and delicious. It just isn't worth going back after sitting down at home to eat. I try to check everything when leaving to prevent it and when addressed they did immediately fix it which shows it's accidental and they are honest about fixing it if it happens.

The only downside is that sometimes I feel like the workers get irritated if you ask for a lot of different toppings but I find my perfect combination of flavor does have quite a few toppings. After a couple toppings the workers seem to constantly ask is that it? But other that that it is excellent pizza. It tastes amazing too. This is my favorite place to get pizza and I don't mind waiting because it can take about 10 minutes and if you have more toppings it seems to take a little longer.”

“Ms. Faith is very kind and easy to work with! She texted with me about our wedding cake order for several days before/after Thanksgiving, AND throughout dealing with the death of her own sister. I was able to get our cake toppers and some extra flowers to her a few days before the wedding, and let her design the cake with only a few reference photos. Our small lemon cake was gorgeous, and absolutely delicious! We are so glad we could support a local small business and a really wonderful lady!”

“Don't put powdered sugar on your pancakes unless you're going to advertise it. When somebody tells you they can't have powdered sugar on their pancakes don't try to scrape it off and flip them upside down and hand them back. Get another Chef because the cook and the kitchen today was rude and did not care about any of the people that were there. Took forever to get food and when it did come everything except for the bacon and the potatoes was inedible. Listened to other people in the restaurant return food and listen to the chef give lip about it and say it was not his problem. Waitress was pleasant, she even tried to tell the cook that he couldn't scrape powdered sugar off the pancake but he did it anyway, only downside about her was that she was concerned about her phone than anything else. Will never return again. I should have paid attention that the reviews on this page are two years or more old. definitely not the place that was reviewed previously. Don't know what's happened but it's not good.”

The food comes out hot, scrumptious,& in large portions worth the money you pay. We’ve enjoyed their catfish,Meat Lovers Stromboli, Reuben sandwich ? , & Spaghetti ?, and their thick & creamy NY style cheesecake! I have to have it everytime!?.I can give it 5 stars once they renovate/update their building, get some new glass windows (cracked), and steam mop the floor.”
