I know their menu changes depending on their specials but the seafood gumbo was delicious and their rockfish special was some of the best white fish I’ve ever had at a restaurant. And every time we go we get the oysters as a starter and they never disappoint. The seafood they serve is high quality, service and atmosphere are great. This place is a hidden gem in Ocean View.”

“I absolutely recommend this place! Their food is somehow better than their coffee and their coffee is immaculate! I ordered the K BBQ grilled cheese and the char was just a hair more than I’d traditionally prefer but that didn’t affect the flavor in the least bit. Despite the flaw, the sandwich was a 10! Don’t get me started on this amazing atmosphere. In an environment as rich in local coffee shops and K BBQ I’ll absolutely be coming back here. They’ve managed to make a returning customer effortlessly! 10/10 recommend!”

“I don’t normally leave reviews but I highly recommend biryani hub. We were actually going to the restaurant next to it when we happened to see Biryani Hub. We decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I’m super picky with Indian food and never really ventured out of the chicken masala. Yesterday I tried their goat Saag gosht (goat) and it was absolutely delicious. The garlic naan is a bit on a tough side but still delicious. Definitely coming back here”

“Happened to see this place looking for lunch. It's not a big place, but the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. But the big reason my wife and I enjoyed this place was the food. Had one sandwich off menu, another from the menu, which were delicious. The truffle fries with chipotle sauce were hot and tasty, the tomato bisque soup to dip the sandwiches was the also great. Would definitely recommend if you're in Norfolk.”

The wine was almost comparable to a rosé but with a slightly different note and after taste. Overall this place was perfect, honestly don't have anything negative to say. The staff are also very friendly and willing to have conversation. Will definitely return back when I'm in town.”

“Hands down, best pour over coffee in Norfolk, dare i say the 757. Very seldom is $7 a cup of coffee worth it, but this absolutely is packed with flavor and is amazing. Local coffee shops can be so hit or miss unfortunately when you're someone who actually like straight up coffee and the art of coffee, but this place is absolutely legit.The vibe in this shop is also on point as well and I love the industrial setting. I would curious to see how the space could be reconfigured a bit to add in additional seating as I have gone before and there be too many individuals camping on four tops. All coffee shops struggle with that i guess.”

“Visited Grandiflora on Thursday April 4th with my husband and son who lives in Norfolk. What a wonderful experience. Atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, loved the decor. Food was delicious. I have no real experience with natural wines but Kate was amazing! Upon arrival, she explained that she was the only FOH employee and asked if we could sit in the living room instead of the lounge, where I had made a reservation for. Of course we had no problem doing so, it was the first visit for all of us and I honestly just picked the lounge because I didn't know anything about the space. She was so enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge of the wines it was contagious! Kate picked both wines I tried and they did not disappoint! She worked that room, multiple tables seated, with the same enthusiasm she shared with us, spending quality time with each guest. Truly great at what she does! We will most certainly be back on our next visit.”

“LeGrand is the crown jewel of dining options in Norfolk. LeGrand would stand out in any city in the world. Steve Marsh is a true master chef. Everything he makes is spectacular. For appetizers, try the grilled cabbage and the pimento. The entrees change seasonally, but my personal favorites are the lamb and steak dishes. If nothing jumps off the menu at you, order “The Burger.” It’s the best burger you’ll ever eat.Special off-menu tip for vegetarians: Just ask to have Chef Steve make you something delicious and point out some items from the menu that sound good to you, like the grits or gnocchi, and Steve will make you a magnificent feast.”

“I made a reservation at Monastery Restaurant for a large group to celebrate my dads 70th birthday. They were AMAZING! From the classy decor, private dining room, delicious food, great wine, to meeting the owner and all the amazing staff, every part of the night was top notch. The restaurant is not geared towards children but they made accommodations for a few of our younger guests, even making meal suggestions that would appease them. We will definitely be coming back. Although higher priced than [blasphemous Italian chain name], you definitely get what you pay for in terms of food quality, taste and value. Everything was super delicious! Also, we do our best to support local businesses. I saved about half of my lasagna portion to reheat in the oven for lunch. Still awesome. I scarfed it down like a guarded submariner who got real eggs for breakfast.We will definitely return to savor more fares from Razzo. We ate quarter of them before adding the toppings. They were seasoned so well. The hot honey wings were more hot then honey but hey that's probably not my thing. However, the wings were cooked well not too dry like wing stop but not wet like Buffalo wild wings. They have a nice crisp without scratching your gums.Finally, a place that lives up to the hype.. Upon arrival, she explained that she was the only FOH employee and asked if we could sit in the living room instead of the lounge, where I had made a reservation for. Of course we had no problem doing so, it was the first visit for all of us and I honestly just picked the lounge because I didn't know anything about the space. She was so enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge of the wines it was contagious! Kate picked both wines I tried and they did not disappoint! She worked that room, multiple tables seated, with the same enthusiasm she shared with us, spending quality time with each guest. Truly great at what she does! It was right before their Oktoberfest celebration and they didn't need to accommodate our group but they made it work and I really appreciate it. Benchtop is in a quiet area of downtown. They had plenty of parking in a designated lot but there is also street parking. We had about 15 people and there was plenty of room inside for us together. There was also live music outside which was great. We used a single tab for our group and everything couldn't of been easier. The beers were tasty and we even indulged in some of their Jell-O shots. I'd definitely return to Benchtop and would encourage others to as well.”

“We went for lunch, and it is definitely not the same as dinner. We were told we only had till 3 pm to eat. we got there at 2 pm. The salad bar was nasty. The lettuce was old, and it took forever for our food to come out. We felt like they were doing that, so we would have to pay dinner prices. Better off going to Volcano on 21st street.”
“I came here once to try the lumpia u can only buy them by a dozen I got half pork half beef and lemme tell ya…. They were the BEST lumpia I’ve ever had in my existence… and mind u I’ve been a lumpia advocate damn near my my whole life (addicted to lumpia) so I know the difference… I would 10/10 recommend and fyi for those of u who are frustrated about the take out only and call to order… since Covid they haven’t gotten the chance to make a ton of money like most of us out here they can’t afford to do it rn they have to work harder than usual to keep the lights on and to keep the business open so I try to tip as much as I can when I go… I haven’t tried any of her other food but she’s super sweet and the price is reasonable and every time i’ve called during opening hours she answers and I order from there 2-4 times a week. Don’t be so quit to judge. P.S And it’s called lumpia house for a reason what more would u want on a menu other than that at a LUMPIA house… she’s nice enough to offer more than that tho.”

“Went to buy some dinner for my mother. All I can say is OH MY GOD. The food was soo fresh and it was DELICIOUS. I will definitely be returning. This isn’t a place you would want to sit and dine in so it will almost certainly be takeout. The owner is a nice guy and you can see photos of him out on his boat catching fish, crabs, etc. hanging on the wall. Man truly loves what he does.”
“i've lived in norfolk for 10 years and cafe milo by far is my favorite restaurant. i first ordered off of doordash and the food was phenomenal, but the other day i ate there w/my best friend and the vibe and customer service eating in was unmatched!! sitting at the bar while the chef cooks was an experience in itself! so much good conversation and the experience felt like a chefs tasting! ive never ate anything bad from cafe milo and tell people about their lambchops, their vegan dishes, and the mimosas and their BLT is everything! cafe milo does NOT miss!”

We decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I’m super picky with Indian food and never really ventured out of the chicken masala. Yesterday I tried their goat Saag gosht (goat) and it was absolutely delicious. The garlic naan is a bit on a tough side but still delicious. Definitely coming back here”

The service from him was great. I think maybe the kitchen may have been having some issues. A little! John was awesome ! However, Madeline is not so nice! Was a smart mouth. I ordered to go orders for my family at home. One was wrong. So I called to ask what was the to go order and just wanted oyster stew. I wasn’t upset or anything. I didn’t expect a refund or anything. It was just miscommunication btwn John and I. Madeline was being smart with me and I don’t like disrespect at all. I asked if I could get a bowl to take home. I got a cup! I did want a refund just Over all besides her. We enjoyed our time.”
