“Visited Tomo for my 12 year old's birthday dinner. It was a great place for a multigenerational dinner with grandparents and aunts and uncles. Everyone shared a sushi boat with several rolls and pieces of nigiri and it was fantastic. The vegetarian sushi was also quite good. Recommend if you are looking for affordable sushi in a relaxed location.“
“Delicious, fresh food. There's plenty of options; teriyaki, wok, sushi rolls, noodles, and more. The portions are big enough to share. I had the chicken and short ribs combo; the chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and the ribs, too. Service was friendly and quick. There's plenty of sitting space to eat there, or you can pick up and take home.“
“Been coming here for a decade now, place hasn’t changed much and I appreciate that! Place has a very homey feel to it, The food is delicious and are really large portions, the owners are so sweet, overall a lovely place with great food! Much love hope to see it for many more years ❤️!Parking: Parking can be a bit tricky in lunch hours but one or two laps and youll find one, I dont mind.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat parking lot and flat entrance, no stairs or obstacles.“
“Well I would have given them 5 stars but for the price I thought it was a little high but they did give me a boatload of food they gave me a lot of meat which was good they said they were going to give me more beef they gave me more chicken too so it turned out good the only thing was you was 24 bucks which I thought was you know a little high I mean unless it's like two more stoops arrives maybe you know another salad it was good that they actually but the food was actually hot today which was unusual.“
“Chicken teriyaki was delicious and moist. Price is cheapest for teriyaki that i been to so far but have had good experiences with different i luv teriyaki but still checking different ones they also do have restrooms not sure who said they didn’t you just have to ask inside just looks a bit outdated but great place for food“
“Absolutely amazing food, the sweet chicken was a bit of a shock on how great the flavor was, and tender with just a small crunch for the outer shell. I swapped also my white rice for pork fried rice and it came with nicely cooked and also soft pieces of pork . The dressing on the salad also was just a nice complement as the vinegar(?) Enchanted the flavor of the meat.“
“I like this place for some quick, basic, teriyaki chicken. No nonsense here. I find it best for takeout, as it's not really a place to take a date. I think they have eight tables, and it's pretty generic, but I really enjoy some quick and easy teriyaki in my “
“Sushi Kashiba will provide you a memorable meal with the freshest fish. The chef are amazing of selecting and preparing amazing nigri sushi with wonderful hot dishes for your enjoyment. The omakasa is a must while a nice glass of sake or wine will pair well with your meal. Highly recommend and will be going back“
“can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. that being said, i think my expectations were set too high for this restaurant, or just wasn’t ordering the right dishes. the black cod collar was the best dish, but the shabu shabu—while good—was underwhelming in the meat portion.“
“Amazing atmosphere, superb service, hidden gem. Sushi Kaunta is the best sushi/sashimi that I’ve had in the PNW and is on par with the same quality/tastes that I’ve had from other similar restaurants in Asia. I came across the restaurant online and thankfully the owner was able to help me with a table for one. The owner is extremely nice and provides personable service. I had the chef’s choice nigiri and ordered two additional pieces off of the menu, every bite was fresh and extremely delicious. Highly recommended and I look forward to when I can come back again! Definitely reach out in advance for a reservation and follow the clear directions on the website to make a reservation.“
“This is some very tasty chicken teriyaki. They use thigh meat which is juicier than breast. The meat was tender and flavorful. It didn't need the extra teriyaki sauce, but it punched the flavor up another notch. The mac salad was creamy and cooling; it was a great side to the chicken. I got the cucumber salad and it was also very tasty; I felt like I got the veg that I was craving. They only do takeout, so the atmosphere is okay, but not great. I wouldn't call it a bargain, but the portions were generous.I'll be back to try some other menu items.“
“Randomly went here with my daughter because we had to get a passport a few blocks away. Loved everything about it. If Im ever in the area again I’ll be back.Kid-friendliness: The owner was very accommodating to my 5yo, suggested a different dish for her, pulled out a fun kids drink for her, it was great, best part about the place.“
“The slogan of this restaurant is "the best teriyaki in town" and it is SO TRUE. I've tried a lot of teriyaki in the south end, Georgetown and West Seattle and this place stands out for its high-quality taste and freshness, as well as cleanliness of the facility and the kindness of the staff. This is literally the only place I want teriyaki from in Seattle. A+!!!!!“
“I definitely miss Tsukushinbo’s sushi bar and omakase offerings but I am not disappointed in what they have transformed to.Staff is still friendly, the space is a lot more open and lighting is way better. The Ochazuke was the star of our lunch. Everything was perfectly portioned 10/10The Yaki Cheese could have been better with a different cheese. The Karaage was huge and delicious but had parts that were more salted than others which threw us off.“
“I came to know this place for the Peruvian food, but I was delighted with the sushi, after having visited several Japanese restaurants, I chose this place, it is incredible, the attention given by the waitress Lorena was very special, my wife and I were delighted, I I recommend 100%“
“French food influence by Japanese flavor. Menu changes often by seasonal items. Ingredients are fresh and good. All dishes are very neat and delicious. Chef's recommended wine also harmonizes with all foods. Beautiful views entertained us during dinner.“
“I've been eyeing this place since they opened. Finally had the opportunity to check it out. My wife and I ordered 6 items for take out. The fish for all the rolls were fresh and everything was tasty! I took a look at the interior when I picked up my food and man... it looks like a fancy sushi restaurant in Seattle! I'm a big fan and we'll be returning soon!!! Someone complained about them being "overpriced" they're probably used to eating gas station sushi for 4.99. the price for their food is very fair and it's 100Xs fresher. Don't listen to those clowns.“
“This place has a legendary status to generations of people. My husband grew up going there and his dad showed several other people he knew when he was young too. And every single person my husband has told about this place has become a regular. I was resistant at fist because I'm not crazy about red meat anymore, and the moo yang is what everyone says is the best (it is super good). But I get the gai yang (chicken) and it is just unlike anything else I've ever had. Whoever opened this restaurant long ago had a vision from God above who said "go now, my child, fill the hearts and bellies of people off of 167 for generations", and so it was done. Praise be.“
“I love this hidden gem and will def be back! If you're looking for a relaxed and welcoming neighborhood spot with great food, this is it. The sushi was excellent. I got a Cali roll and something with salmon and cream cheese that was tempura fried (I forget the name), chefs kiss!! The owner and sushi chef were so nice and very personable, it made it feel really welcoming. They serve a wide variety of drinks (I saw margarita glasses) and are bringing karaoke back soon.“
“We go twice a month and every time I love it here even more. The presentation of the food is incredible and it tastes even better. The people that work here are so great at what they do, the service is top tier. Watching the guys at the sushi bar.. it's art and they are so fun to talk to. Best miso and karaage I've ever had!! The line seems long when you walk in sometimes but they get you seated in under 10 minutes.Absolutely worth it to check it out!!Bento box is my favorite way to go “
“Food was super filling and tasted great! Even having only a burger I didn’t even think I could finish it because of how full I got. I had the Chai milkshake too and I loved it. Service was great and our server was super nice and generous, and the restaurant itself was very cute and had cool decor. Definitely will be coming back sometime!“
“Sooo fast and good! Got takeout to reheat for dinner and it was so delicious omg. It was ready in 5 minutes when I walked in. The worker was very kind and welcoming, and helped us with the menu. SO MANY OPTIONS!! And the prices are the best you’ll find in this area for food. Every meal came with salad and rice, the atmosphere was super nice and clean. Highly recommend for takeout or dine in. They had tons of drink options too!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, the tofu is delicious and the vegetables are so fresh and yummy“
“The Kudedon Bowl was quite amazing. It has Salmon, Albacore Tuna, grilled eel, shrimp, Tuna , and Ikura(orange roe) along with some shiitake mushrooms, greens on a bed of sushi rice. The staff was friendly and quick with the order. The place is in the lobby of one of the building in 4th Ave in Downtown Seattle so be prepared to either take it to go or sit on the lobby sofa or some of the stool by the main doors to the building. That said, don't be deterred by that, the food is worth it. Enjoy!“
“Best burgers I've found in Seattle. And the shakes are well made, great consistency, and full of flavor. And unique flavors at that. The burger options of meat, toppings, and sauces make for a variety of options. It can be a costly meal, but lately, where isn't?“
“I've said many time teriyaki ain't my bag, but it's close to Chinese and with the lack of Chinese restaurants sometimes you have to compromise. The reviews for this place are near flawless , so I decided to give them a try. This place is off 3rd, and for anyone that drives third, you know traffic is thick and you are trying to find a lane to get through and not get caught by a light. So in the decades I've live here, I've never seen this place because 3rd is one way and no one has time to be checking their review view. Tiny spot, but clean and modern. I got a lunch special and asked for soup. The girl didn't charge me for soup, so either I got lucky, or they just don't advertise it. Miso was delicious and the food came pretty quick after. I had chicken an gyoza, it came with a couple small scoops of rice and salad. The salad was pretty sad, without a doubt the weakest side salad I've been served. No veggies, just lettuce and the dressing was watered down. I like places that serve a sesame ginger dressing, it really wakes up your taste-buds. The gyoza was really good. I would have likes it steamed and fried better than deep fried, but everyone is lazy these days. The chicken could have been a little more flavorful and moist, but it wasn't horrible. I'm going to assume they make their own sauce, It wasn't too sweet, but it had a different flavor. In the end, this place is better than the average spot, but it's not life changing and that what the current score eludes to. I think this place is a 3, leaning towards 3.5, but since Yelp doesn't allow half ratings, I rounded up because service was so good. That said, I'll probably come back to try the Chinese dishes. And I don't regret coming in today.“
“What a pleasant surprise to find in the Lower First Hill scene! Really awesome happy hour selection and deal with an intimate yet inviting vibe. Good quality sushi considering the price and a wide selection of non sushi items. Definitely recommend the Baked Salmon roll!“
“Super busy spot with tasty matcha soft serve and cake rolls. The soft serve and parfaits are quite expensive for what they are, but it doesn't seem to deter enough people to have the store be less busy. The white mochi in my soft serve was not sweetened and added some good contrast to the ice cream. The soft serve and cake were both lightly sweetened (Asian dessert style), not cloying at all. I hope to be back to try the black sesame items someday.“
“Stop in on a chance while I was towing cars in the neighbourhood. It was really really good, Wish I had more time to enjoy it. I was in a hurry with the food. It was made fast service was great definitely going to stop back in and check out some of the rest of the menue In the future. Thank “
“This is one of our favorite places to eat, and is a staple in our weekly diet. The service is incredible, and the chicken katsu is consistently incredible. Be sure to add a side of gyoza, you won’t regret it. We love Nikko!!! ❤️❤️❤️“
“Ordered beef teriyaki with a side of gyoza because I was stuck on mercer island for a few hours but pho is obviously their specialty. The rice and gyoza were good but the beef abd sauce were sub par imo compared to dedicated teriyaki places. It wasn’t bad but definitely different if you're looking to satisfy a teriyaki craving this is only about 75% there.“
“Sooooooooooo good! Better than Japan honestly! And I’m born and raised in Japan! They don’t cheap out on fruits! You get fruits in every bite all the way down the crepe. And look at it! The presentation of the crape itself is amazing! Well done to the beautiful people I met making these pieces of art! Picture perfect crapes! 1000/10!!!! ?yum!“
“Very good and filling bento lunch from a cute yet modern hole-in-the-wall type place. Not to mention the price is very reasonable for downtown Seattle so you get your money’s worth! I’d recommend ordering ahead as it gets busy during lunch. Also they’re not messing around when it comes to their spicy katsu.“
“Amazing sushi -- and sustainable! The only downside is the server with the Coke-bottle glasses, easily the most annoying server I have encountered in my many years of dining. He was like something out of an episode of _Curb Your Enthusiasm_. If you have the misfortune of getting him, make it clear at the outset that you want to enjoy your meal in peace and will not tolerate his clueless pestering.“
“Honestly I was a little disappointed by the food here, although we did only order small plates as we had recently eaten. We got the Seattle dog musubi which was very interesting and exactly what you'd imagine, so very well executed. We also got the cauliflower karaage which was good, but I almost felt like the taste was too overpowering (very sweet). Our cocktail was good though with the shiso salt. I'd probably come back at some point to try the main dishes.“
“In town for business, looked for good reviews for food near my hotel and this place peaked my interest from all the good reviews. Well the reviews were right the food was so good and very tasty with a very polite man at the register, definitely coming back to here again before I leave town. Thank you!“
“Our favorite meal in the PNW, by far. Reviews were great, so we went for it. It's definitely a place that would be busy on the weekends, so we went on a Monday.I've eaten some great sushi in several cities, but this was the most flavorful fish I've ever had. It all melted in your mouth with a buttery softness. Pieces that had tempura batter were scrumptious. We only had 1 dinner night in Seattle. Otherwise, we would have been back for sure. The server was attentive but knew when to let us do our thing. Terrific service overall and the food came out in a timely manner.Sushi can be expensive, but this place was fairly priced (low for its quality). Little corner place near Cherry Hill and Seattle University.Vegetarian options: Several rolls with all veggie options. The sweet potato roll was so good and simple.“
“We come here all the time! Sushi is super fresh, balanced, and fairly priced. The family that runs it is incredible. Warm and inviting and happy to be there. Highly recommend the Allison roll (for their daughter Allison) and the Katsu Curry. My bf tries something new each time, but I go for the Allison roll and to steal bites of his curry. Give this local small business a shot for a perfect lowkey evening. *Can also confirm we've gotten their takeout and the sushi is just as fresh!*“
“There isn't a lot of choice when it comes to sushi or Japanese food in general in West Seattle. Thankfully, Irashai is great. I routinely get sushi takeout from here - they're quick to fill the orders and the staff is always pleasant and friendly. The non-sushi part of the menu is also really solid. Glad to have this place close by for my sushi needs.“
“Went there on a Friday for a laye lunch with a group of 6. We had reserved a head of time and was able to be seated immediately. There is a mix of Japanese and Korean specials. Coworkers got bento boxes bit the bibimbap was calling my name and it didn't disappoint. Came out sizzling in the cast iron bowl which gave the rice the crunch that I love. Would definitely go back. Also, service was on it and very polite.“
“On a busy corner in Georgetown, down from the historic brewery row.... It's an interesting spot, feels like we might be in some part of Yokohama? Interesting art of trains. The lady who takes our orders was so very helpful. The Food? One of the Best Chicken Katsu Curry this side of Japan. Yummy!!!! Awesome presentation and the tonkatsu sauce was fruity and tart. My Son said it's second best to his Moms.“
“Tell me something. You like teriyaki? Did you move out of state and find that good teriyaki in the US only exists in a few small pockets? Don’t sleep on this stuff guys. Was it Joni Mitchell who said “Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t what you got til it’s gone?” Grab on to the things you love and hold them tight. They will make most things gluten free and not make you feel like a bozo for asking.“
“A great place to stop by and pick up lunch during a tight work break! As someone who works in downtown Seattle, I'm always on the hunt for a new lunch spot and was happy to hear there was a new offering for donburi in the central business district. There's a great selection of different kinds of bentos/donburis to suit different palettes with cooked and raw options. I take the karai bento as a go to option which has generous amounts of sashimi paired with some poke, pickles and seaweed salad. Definitely not a traditional bento or don by any means but it doesn't detract from the fact that it is tasty and reasonably priced. Service is quick so don't be discouraged by the long lines! It definitely gets packed during the lunch rush. Seating is limited to nonexistent so be prepared to takeaway to eat somewhere else!“
“I guess this is more about my personal taste, since obviously this place is popular. If you love traditional japanese food like me, stick to the raw sashimi. We ordered the popular Emperor's signature roll and chirashi bowl. They put tobiko on top of slice jalapeno on the roll. Totally kill the mild flavor that I love about tobiko. The yuzu sauce is good but also kill the sushi flavor. I think fusion is not for me. The chirashi bowl was okay, standard. I may come back for other dishes.“
“Got the spicy chicken teriyaki, wasn’t spicy at all. The chicken was nice and tender however and the sauce had a unique sweetness. That being said I do like a bit more char on my teriyaki and there was a deeper richness in the sauce I was missing.“
“I always pass this place on my way to work but since that part of Kent is zombie land I avoid going to any business there. I am glad I took the chance and didn't let the tweeker in the parking lot deter me. The service was fast, place clean, and food delicious.“
“Always open like their hours say and ALWAYS high quality teriyaki. It is My favorite Teriyaki place in south center/ Seattle area. When I first moved here many teriyaki places had poor quality consistently across the board or closed really early. Thanks you guys ?“
“The gentleman operating the place when I was there knew his stuff! My friend and I went in on recommendation from a proprietor local to him (my friend lives in California) and I'm glad he made the recommendation. The menu is a rotating menu which I believe is changed weekly (don't quote me on that!) with the option for individual pours or flights of 3 curated sakes. The descriptions were accurate to my inexperienced palate. When I described what I was looking for, and showed some pictures of varieties I enjoyed, the gentleman recommended a few varieties, and I have to say... He's good at his job! I thoroughly enjoyed the sake he poured me, and less so the sake my friend opted for (though he was equally pleased with his selection, so the guy knocked it out of the park two for two).If you're in the area: I highly recommend trying it out.“
“Our favorite Japanese restaurant on the east side. Some of our favorite items include the kabocha fried rice, chicken katsu dinner, mackerel / saba, albacore tataki salad, any of the sushi and tempura. It can get busy here for dinner on the weekend, so I suggest reservations.“
“My favorite sushi place in the international district. Food was fresh, delicious, reasonable priced. Our server was fast, friendly, attentive and checked on us to see if we needed anything else after we got our foods. We ordered the salmon lover, and shared the lunch special; lunch special comes with miso soup or salad also. My friend and I especially love this place because they don't pack a ton of rice in their rolls, and the extra perk is the free parking garage which makes choosing this place to eat a no brainer.Parking: Parking on 4th floor, entered through 10th AVE, take the elevator to 2nd floor for restaurant.“
“For about a week, I've been wanting sushi for dinner. I happened to be in Burien & drove by Tori Sake & Grill in a small, not fancy strip mall. Ordered miso & a couple of rolls - the Burien (quick deep fried) and a CA. Fresh, flavorful, can't wait to return with friends.“
