“If you're a hockey fan looking for somewhere to catch a game this is the perfect spot. They have a friendly neighborhood atmosphere and you can play a few games of pinball if your team isn't playing. Just keep in mind they are cash “
“Spokane’s northside hosts a cultural food gem with Das Stein Haus. In a mall you’ll find Euro pub-style decor, German music, and menu options creating a transformative and relaxed dining experience - you halfway expect Rick Steves to pop out and give travel narrative. Cabbage rolls, bratwurst, sauerkraut, and stroganoff were excellent. Carrots and green beans were meh, lentil soup was flavorful, draft German Kostritzer beer was omg good. Service was attentive, pleasant, & efficient. Breakfast Sat and Sun 9am-2pm, plenty of free parking. Prost!Kid-friendliness: Large tables, room for kids to move around a bit, atmosphere is relaxed.“
“Honestly has to be one of if not the best value in town for food. I don't usually review bars for food, but this blew me away. For 17.00 in 2023 you barely get a burger at Jack in the Box, here you get the fattest double burger you've ever seen, almost couldn't finish it. It's like 13.00 for a bacon cheeseburger with tator tots that is also huge. Bar tenders are excellent heather and kendra“
“Ever I started coming to this I've felt like I'm becoming more and more like myself. I just can't wait until I can get my check back from the Spokane community college and then pay my debts. Then maybe move forward in my life and the city I live in with all these other people that are living in the same city. I like this business because it's local and I support the people that I choose to let be in my circle. I see real love here, a family of people that can just be themselves and listen to the same music and act like a goof or not act like a goof. People will let people be themselves up until I think of themselves are gonna hurt themselves or someone else's. I do honestly feel like maybe I'm slowly becoming more and more like family around here in Spokane. Where as before I was being quite so open and able to trust others. I don't choose the future or a future but in a way I kinda can choose my own future. I'm not trippin. But I am trying to keep putting 2 & 2 together, hopefully you and I would get four. I think if it makes sense and we can reuse it and it helps us out on some sort of and we should totally do that especially if it helps make money then we should totally you continue to repetitive do this thing that houses that makes sense.Kid-friendliness: I'll tell you what last night I thought it was Halloween night and I like everybody at this bar was like having a good time with dancing and I was like imma go for a walk meet up with this chick. Well I'm at the chicken for and she's a friend of mine and I came back to the bar and I was like damn that's what's up. Either way I figured out it wasn't but if that gives you any idea about the kid–friendliness and that everybody was dancing last night and having a good time and I thought it was Halloween but it really was not Halloween night... Right???“
“Excellent menu variety with "non-bar" food. We chose the location based on online menu and reviews. We had been to a sister restaurant called "Moon Time" in CDA. The daily specials were so enticing that we chose all 3. My husband had Chicken Parm with pesto and a cup of "Pork soup" served over rice. I had the Broccoli Beef special. Great variety, Great price and good portions. You won't be disappointed!“
“When we came in recently the owner created us but then apologized that he needed to help some teenager who'd have wandered in. The kid had become separated from his family or something and didn't have a phone and the owner was using his own phone to reunite him with his family. What a great guy.Oh and the food is delicious and the bartender knows how to make a black and tan with proper separation and there was a band playing lovely Irish tunes. I guess they are there every Sunday.Anyway O'Doherty's is a Spokane treasure and you should go there right now.“
“THE BEST restaurant on the South Hill!!And our favorite in Spokane. You can tell everything they make is good, whole food, healthy quality, flavorful and delicious. People might be disappointed that they don’t have fries as one of their sides, but I particularly love that they don’t dunk their food in fryers and everything’s is pan friend and/ or home made, healthier, and fresh while still being incredibly flavorful. Also, if there is any wait time, it’s because they are making your food fresh and good food takes time. All of their sauces/dressings are home made and the portions are always generous. We love the neighborhood home vibe and I’ve never had a bad meal here. 10 out of 10 if I could.“
“This is my favorite Friday night haunt. Nice laid-back pub atmosphere with retro music and TVs. Best bangers & mash and buffalo wings in the area and never pass on the peanut slaw. I brought friends here from out of town and they loved it.“
“Great local establishment, wonderful atmosphere, with top of the line service. This is a place to relax and hang out with friends while enjoying great live music or karaoke. All while having a great drink from a long list of local breweries and wineries. Check it out if you haven’t already.“
“I belong to a group and just about every Thursday we come here after a meeting and/or rehearsal. The waitress is awesome and is becoming to remember what everybody is drinking. The daily hamburger special is delicious. The special is $9.00 and comes with fries and ranch and tartar sauce.“
“PJs has a unique setup with multiple levels that lends itself to the awesome vibe. The atmosphere there is fun and welcoming. The staff and patrons are so friendly! They have fantastic food and Ashley makes one of the best dirty martinis in town! They do trivia and beer pong on Thursdays, and karaoke on Wednesday, and Friday-Sunday. Sound, KJs, and singers are great! Also, they have quite possibly the best back patio in town!“
“Exceptional customer service. The service here is what brings us back weekly. The food is great. Never ever an empty drink in front of me, ever. The attention to customer care is outstanding. Steven and Aly are our usual wait staff as we visit the same time regularly, they even know what our kids drink and eat. It’s really a nice local spot.“
“Great place! Just go there, I promise you won't be disappointed!Vegetarian options: Cauliflower wings are so yummy!Dietary restrictions: Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-free, they have options for all of itKid-friendliness: has an area for 21 and under“
“If you're looking for that 2nd home, these guys are truly more accommodating and attentive than the others across the way. They don't treat you like a sale and they genuinely want to see you enjoy yourself. The tenders are one of a kind fabulous and the pool is 50 cents a game, both of which are hard to find these days.“
“This is one of my favorite wine bars in Spokane, and that's really saying something given how many there are. We actually ended up here 2 days in a row because we knew they would have exactly what we wanted. Their patio has such a beautiful view, they have wine and beer slushees, and charcuterie all at a super reasonable price - what more could you ask for? I'm obsessed with their frose, but the jungle juice beer slushee is amazing too. Their large charcuterie plate isn't really that much food, but it's also only $18, which seems like a steal to me. Great spot!“
“We love PacAve. Everything on the menu is delicious, offering many options. The atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable. The staff are personable. It's the pizza shop version of "Cheers", a popular Brownes Addition meeting place and watering hole. Family friendly.“
“Just had a great night here! Their happy hour and daily deals are great! We had the scotch eggs, calamari, strawberry chicken salad and from their fresh menu - buffalo chicken zucchini boats. All was delicious, the boats were perfectly done. It was my first scotch egg experience so I can’t compare it but it was tasty. Will definitely be back for more happy hours!“
“The best place in Spokane to grab a beer. No one else even comes close. They have a huge selection of beers on tap including small batch runs that you can't find anywhere else. The food is top notch. I would gladly eat here for lunch and dinner everyday. The atmosphere is awesome. First off, they have plenty of free, safe parking unlike the sketchy downtown vibes you get at other breweries. The Bier Hall is great for watching sporting events on their enormous TV. The patio area is beautiful and secluded unlike any other patio space in Spokane.Come here to grab a bite and a beer. You won't regret it!“
“Thanks to the $2 Ranier for less than $20 you can get pretty toasty at the Checkerboard Pub!! And who doesn't love the delicious taste of Ranier Beer? They have the usual line up of craft beers as well for those beer aficionado types. And a pretty decent whiskey selection as well. Now let's talk about pub grub! You know how greasy bar food can be? That nasty fresh from the fryer stench we all know and hate doesn't doesn't emanate from the kitchen at the Checkerboard Pub. That's because every item on the menu is microwaved. So rest assured you won't get a puddle of grease underneath your order of chicken wings with a side of tots. None of those nasty shiny, crunchy corn dogs either. The crowd is quite an eclectic mix of Spokane's socioeconomic classes. For some inexplicable reason the magic of cheap alcohol and dive bar decor mingle together to create an environment that just about everyone finds welcoming. Seriously isn't that the most important aspect of a weekend watering hole? A place where you and your friends can just be yourselves and get your funk on.And a big Ghetto Gourmet shout out to Andi the weekend bartender who really exemplifies excellent customer service skills!!I wish to thank EVERYONE who reads my posts. Let me know if you find the info useful and please let me know if you have any questions about the places I review.“
“Such a fun place to visit for dinner and definitely brunch! They have a great selection of food and the wood fired oven adds that special touch that makes you wanting to come back for more. The staff are amazing and are the cherry on top of the whole experience. Check it out come patio season too, but you can’t go wrong anytime of the year!“
“Had a great time! Went during a happy hour where you got unlimited games for a good price. Played both Mini Golf and Duffleboard, where I had a slight preference for the Duffleboard game. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great for both adults and children.Parking: There isn't really any parking directly outside, but the mall has a parking garage and is only a short walk. Be warned there is a Lego store you'll need to pass on the way.Kid-friendliness: There was a very kid friendly atmosphere. An employee did mention that later in the day, they switch to be more adult focused.“
“Interesting place. It can be a fun place to meet people or a place to get stabbed. It's downtown and depending on the people it can get a little ugly. Nothing wrong with the place though. They have a prize wheel you can spin on your birthday which is cool. A pool table to play on but not enough in my opinion. It's kinda a small space and is pretty packed in the weekends“
“Today was my first experience with this place. I walked in around 3:30 which seemed to be shift change. It did take a little bit for me to get service. However once the new shift settled in, I was met with amazing customer service. It was Taco Tuesday and also happy hour. Prices were great. I decided to go with a couple beef tacos and the chicken fried steak. The tacos were delicious. The chicken fried steak was also perfect and crispy with lots of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised that the entrees came with soup, garlic bread, and a side of my choosing. All was very delicious and cooked properly. It was so good that I had to order a burger to go for my lunch the next day.I will say that there could be a wait, but it is worth it and a great environment. Just be patient and good things will come!“
“Went there for some dinner since I live in the neighborhood and always walk by the place...food was so so,I ended up having the French dip which was nice and big but lacked flavor as did the dipping juice...I would say the service could have been better as in friendlier, the waitress seemed rather snooty.....but overall the place was nice and open . Probably won't go back since I don't drink and it is more of a bar then sit and just eat kind of a place...“
“We've come here a few times so far, and the food has been great every time. They fixed a mistake that was made and gave me a new fresh plate. I appreciated it.We loved the pretzel! Came with two of them for the appetizer, which was perfect for us. The fries were hot and fresh, with some great dipping sauces. The back of the restaurant has a little pond shared by everyone and a bridge. It was a cute location, plus outdoor seating.“
“We went to the Post Street Ale House to try a new place for lunch after my husband's eye Dr appointment today and before we made the long drive home. We had the bacon & beer cheese soup, mozzarella bombs appetizers and split a Cowboy burger. The food was great. The appetizers and burger were really flavorful and filling without feeling too heavy. Our server was really nice and attentive without being too attentive at all. The atmosphere was fine. Photos are of my Guinness and a half cup of the tasty soup. We'd definitely go back again.“
“Luckys bar was probably our favorite stop of the evening. The music was loud and pumping, the crowd seemed engaged and we’re dancing. The bartenders were friendly, and we’re quick to serve. Unfortunately, we are just passing through town. Otherwise I could see this being a fun neighborhood watering hole. If you’re in downtown Spokane, look up Luckys bar, it was a lot of fun.“
“Dined at a dozen or so places in Spokane during our conference last week. This place was by far my favorite. Food was amazing and a bit different. Prices were more than reasonable. One of our friends needed gluten-free bread and the waitress offered to go down the street and buy some since they didn't have any! ? above and beyond! Ate here 3 times and everything was amazing but the Mac and cheese as a side was crazy good. One thing to add, good food takes time and this is no fast food restaurant. Expect to wait a bit if they are busy and enjoy the old pub style atmosphere.“
“I want to give the biggest shoutout to Steph. She killed it today. She was the only person running things today when we were there and there was maybe 3-4 empty tables. She still gave the best service and was still very attentive for our “bigger” party!“
“So, we heard of this place as a recommendation from another coach of ours. It’s a super cute place with a great ambiance. I’m a fan of the inside, with the paintings (vibrant colors) from only one artist. That was pretty cool. The service again was fantastic and outstanding. I mean you really couldn’t do much better than this. It’s a super nice and friendly place. The food, that’s the big thing we are looking at hear. Being someone who lives in Texas, take this with a grain of salt.We had the chicken artichoke and tomatoes basil soups. Personally, probably the best soups they have. We tried the jalapeno popper and it was very spicy. The beer cheese soup tasted ungodly for us. However, not our thing. The beer bread was really odd too, but we don’t eat that typically. Overall, we tried a lot and it was a lot of fun. Love the atmosphere indeed.I would go back for soup again. I do love a good soup.“
