“We ordered the bulgogi chicken bowls with light spiciness, and the mozzarella + sausage corn dog. Everything was absolutely delicious!! The lady gave our toddler some chips for dessert too which was pretty cute. You can tell this casual dine-in puts a lot of heart and passion into their food. Highly recommend ?“
“I love the idea but I think they can do better. Good selection of toppings but the problem is the rice. Rice inside Inari (the pocket) was pretty dry and cold. If you have inari at a sushi restaurant before you know it should be moist, a bit sweet and sour like the rice itself should be tasty. But don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed those “pockets” and am willing to come back for more. Their fish cake udon was not worth it tho imo. Service was good, very friendly. There was only 1 guy doing everything and running back and forth, you could tell he was trying his best.“
“We had the all you can eat for dinner. Usually we have the one at lunch and it's a great deal, but for $13 more per adult the dinner didn't seem worth it. Not that much difference in choices from lunch and the shrimp was not fresh at all. The noise level in the restaurant was so loud I couldn't hear my MIL from across the table.“
“Always the best every time I order from this location! I always get the mozzarella and sausage with potatoes added on mine with the honey butter, sugar, and mustard topping. ?Some days, an extra order of the sweet crispy korean fried chicken is the best!“
“Oh my god- I can’t believe I haven’t visited GoGi before- the prices are great and the menu has all Korean favorites. I had the beef bibimbap and it was delicious. You can travel by plus 15 and is about 10 min walk from the core.Kid-friendliness: Open space“
“Exceeding warmth and hospitality paired with rich flavors, unbelieveable value, and an inviting atmosphere make Namsan a must-visit in Calgary. Truly a 5 star experience! The value of 20-30 spent per person includes drinks as well as copious leftovers for at least couple more meals :D“
“As a celiac I was very surprised that they had a Gluten free menu which was great and so many options still to choose from. I wish they had mentioned that accommodation on their website and I would've come sooner. On the higher end of prices but left feeling super full and satisfied . Will be back soon!“
“Do you want simply delicious Korean food for a good price? Then you should come here and get the combo. My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for the past 6 years and it's always been consistently good. Yes we have been eating with them before they moved locations it's that good give it a try.“
“I had such a good time here! The food and the service here was really amazing. Me and my friends didn’t have to wait a long time before we received our food and the employees here are super sweet! This is a great restaurant to go to when wanting korean food at an affordable price!“
“A solid option for Korean fried Chicken, but I personally, don't love the batter they use. It reminds me of just pure cornstarch, very tiny oily flakes, rather than really crispy dry larger chunks of batter. The chicken inside was perfectly cooked, and I like their spicy hot sauce. Pricing has gone up significantly since the photos that were posted Of the menu, I think there is better value to be had elsewhere. It was just under $30 for 10pc boneless chicken with sauce.“
“I only had a shared take out with my friend for the first time this week and this just became my favourite Korean Fried Chicken in Calgary. The flavour! Size! Taste! Yes! Yes yes! Everything was just right in my alley. Tried four flavours and they are all amazing! Can’t wait to try other ones next time!“
“I went with a foreign friend for the first time today, and I enjoyed the soybean paste, but I especially enjoyed the kindness of the female staff. My friend said he was paying the bill, so I was standing in front of the door, and he said hello to his friend and then to me. I don't think this guy gave a tip, but it's okay to ask about that. Anyway, the next time I go, I'll definitely tip the pretty female staff as a tip. Anyway, I enjoyed the fried dumplings and soy sauce. Thank you.“
“We dined in here last month and I just posted this review. Overall, service, ambiance and the food were amazing. Most of their dishes were good for sharing. You can taste the authenticity of Korean cuisine from their menu. Since we have a kid with us, there were some food items that were kids-friendly.“
“Oh wow, where do I even begin with Taste of Korean? Their beef soup is to die for! The moment you take your first sip of the broth, it's like an explosion of flavors in your mouth. It has this perfect blend of salty and spicy that just hits the right notes. And the beef? Oh, the beef! It was so tender, it practically melts in your mouth. The soup was so good, I found myself scraping the bottom of the bowl to get every last drop.If you're a fan of Korean food, or even if you're not, you've got to try the beef soup at Taste of Korean. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.Edited: We just ordered the bimbibap with gochujang sauce, and they’re to die for! The kimchi pancakes were okay, nothing special but it’s worth a shot! Highly recommend bimbibap and the beef soup.“
“I tried Hankki for the first time today, and it was SO good!!! The staff was also very friendly and nice!? I ordered a combo (hot bop & bulgogi chicken), and the chicken was incredibly tender. The combination of pork with rice and vegetables was perfect. I highly recommend it! (FYI, I chose medium spiciness, and it seemed a bit milder than Sriracha sauce. I can handle spicier food, so I'll go for a spicier option next time.) Thank you for the great meal!?? ??“
“Hansang is sooooo good. Their seafood pancake is hands down best in the city. Also pork bone soup is amazing. The kimchi that comes with bossam is perfectly seasoned and is pairs so well with the pork. Can’t go wrong with anything here!!!“
“This venue is an idyllic setting for families to dine together, offering cuisine crafted with meticulous professionalism and heartfelt dedication. The courteous staff, adorned with genuine smiles, create an atmosphere of genuine hospitality, ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed and at ease. As we savored each dish, capturing moments with photographs to cherish, we couldn't help but vow to share this delightful experience with our friends. Rest assured, we will eagerly return to indulge in the culinary delights and warm ambiance once again.“
“We stopped at Kor on a whim after doing extensive chores because frankly, I did not want to cook! Clean, bright fun interior with personable, knowledgeable staff. Excellent and delicious menu options in everything we tried. Service was excellent. Definitely going to become a favourite spot to visit!“
“Booth within Avenida Food Market. Excellent meat options, either by itself or served as a full dish. Very reasonably priced, perfect for a good balanced lunch for a good price. Bulgogi hotdog was also filling and even cheaper than the boxes with good quality food.“
“Very good katsu - crispy and light coating, the meat moist and delicious (we had the assorted - pork, shrimp and cheese). Yummy spicy rice cake too. The place is small and clean, the service was friendly and efficient, and the portions were generous. We will definitely go back.“
“The full cheese hot dog is SO fricken good. By far my favorite! Get it topped with sugar and it's a match made in heaven. The staff at the front were a little rude, but other than that it was a homerun.Highly recommend stopping in to order - it's not the same quality if you order ahead for pick-up“
“Best place to get Korean-Chinese foods in Calgary. We usually get one soup dish (like Jjamppong) and one fried meats (Tangsuyuk) and they make a great meal for two or three people.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible by wheelchairs.“
“I've been here twice and wow their korean good is so delicious. I ordered their kimchi stew bowl, ttaekboki, and seafoodpancake. My favorite was the kimchi stew, it was deliciously spicy and cake with lots of yummy pickled sides, as well as rice. It's a cozy space and is kept clean.“
“Ate some delicious food with some friends today! We had to wait quite a while for one of our friends to arrive but we never felt rushed to order. The staff was very kind and the food was yummy!Pictured is bulgogi bibimbap, deep fried chicken with sweet chili sauce, kimchi stew with pork ribs, cheese tteokbokki, and cheese pork katsu.“
“Standard issue Korean BBQ joint. Not convinced it was a $290 meal including tip (3 adults & 1 child— ordered combo for 4). Banchan was plentiful, but could have done with less MSG in the kimchi. Hard to fail at service when there’s a call button. Not sure I’ll be back— could have had much better meals at this price point elsewhere.“
“I wanted to eat Jjamppong, so I searched for it and came here. However, I didn't know if Jjamppong was available from 3 p.m., so I ordered Jjamppong before 3 p.m., and they gladly accepted it and were very kind. The taste was really good too.“
“FUN TIMES! GREAT VIBES! We had a party of 13 show up for a birthday and it’s a little small but the vibe and atmosphere was amazing! The staff celebrated the birthdays with us and gave us FULL CONTROL of the music! There was karaoke and our party had fun! Hopefully everyone else that was there had fun! Everyone joined in and sang together! Atmosphere 10/10The food! Yes it was a little long but they were packed! Food took maybe 20-40 mins but table of 10+ and everyone else in the restaurant. We ordered cheese corn and more but it all hit the spot! There was absolutely no complains at all!Service was awesome! Main guy was nice! Responsive and also tend to everyone! Made sure everything was alright! They got our order wrong once but they got it right and also gave us some kimchi cheese fried rice!Make sure to reso! They’re busy!“
“Consistently delicious food here. I've tried quite a few menu items and it is ALL SO GOOD. Their sides are also super tasty. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the portions and the quality. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone!“
“I understand why there are so many people..! it's good! It’s the taste of Korea itself..!!You can make it at home, so go to a Korean restaurant.I don't really like spending money, but I want to try everything here.I ate stir-fried sundae, green onion pancakes, and soup.I also tried my friend's spicy chicken bulgogi + mozzarella and soft tofu stew, and wow, the chicken bulgogi... It was literally the same iron plate chicken ribs I had in Korea. The green onion pancakes were by far the best of any Korean restaurant in Calgary (so crunchy), and the sundae in stir-fried sundae was moist, plump, and spicy, not dry!My foreign friends told me to go to Hankorea, and I think I understand why they recommended it that way. They know a good place too!The soup tasted the same as in Busan, but it was thicker and had more of a milky taste. First of all, the other side dishes were plentiful and delicious compared to Busan, so it felt more delicious. The soft tofu stew tasted exactly like soft tofu stew from a highway rest area haha. It's the best Korean restaurant in Calgary with a lot of portions and not a waste of money! What was disappointing was that we had to wait about 20 minutes even though it was lunchtime on a weekday. Still, it was better than the usual wait of an hour or two. That's why I thought a lot of people were calling and getting takeout. I think I saw Team 5 while I was waiting for takeout customers.Next time, I will definitely come back for lunch on a weekday +_+“
“Dinner at Jjamppong, one of our favorite Korean noodle restaurants. Very delicious dishes that we enjoyed a lot. Ordered the classic Spicy Noodles and Black bean noodles dish along with the popular Fried Pork with sweet and sour sauce.Friendly staff and fast service. If you want to try the popular fried pork with sweet and sour sauce, I do recommend to eat in instead of take out (if possible). We tried take out a few times with the Fried pork dish, but nothing like dining in when we can taste the freshly made fried pork …. You will know what I mean for the dining in fried pork. Highly recommended!Parking: It is busy area near Chinook shopping centre and Macleod trail and near a car dealer company. Thus, parking can be tricky at times. Not a big on site parking lot. Quite limited parking but there are reasonable amount of street parking beside and behind the restaurant. Should be able to find a spot but may not be right very close to restaurant.“
“Excellent Korean food. Lunch specials are good for their value. I've tried some of their bbq dishes, the portion is sufficient and tastes amazing. Would recommend their beef bulgogi or their spicy pork bulgogi. Japchae and seafood pancakes are great here too, would really recommend the seafood pancake. Have also tried their dinner courses as well over the years, the prices for those are reasonable and definitely fill you up for the recommend party size. The hotpot offerings were delicious. Side dishes were good, kimchi provided was great. It is a small but cozy little place that's hard to tell from the outside. Plenty of free parking in the area given its location.“
“New Review 04/14/2024: Everyone is nice and friendly, food is delicious, and service is bomb! I’ve been ordering from this location probably for the last 4 or 5 years now? Since 2019! I came for the chicken, and stayed for the cheese fries! Everything is delicious. Staff is very friendly, so I’ve been dining in lately. I used to do takeout, but it’s cheaper and more pleasant with dine-in. Honestly? You can’t go wrong with whatever you decide to eat, everything is delicious. Ah, their k-dogs are out of this world too, I love the k-mozza especially.10/10, and it’s nice because you can get dessert next door!“
“A hidden gem!.. If you like Hankki (Korean rice bowls), this place is as good or even better! The quality is excellent and the value, way cheaper than most Korean rice bowls. Super friendly service!!.. ? It might be hard to navigate to the place, deep in the millennium tower but once you find it it's easy..“
“We had beef kalguksu, pork bone kalguksu, and mixed dumplings, which were all incredibly delicious. The portions were satisfying for lunch. The kimchi is a must-try, and the staff was very friendly and explained well. Definitely will be returning!“
“Was finally able to visit this new Korean Chicken restaurant called bb.q Chicken Lemon in Southland Crossing and it was worth the wait! . The menu is uncomplicated, very unpretentious really but the food was incredible! I’ve visited a few Korean Fried Chicken places in the city but this eatery has got to be one of my favourites. . We had: *Crunch Prawn Stick (4 pcs), $9 - WOWZA and YUMZA! Very flavourful and true to its name, very crunchy! It came with a couple of dipping sauces. I loved the spicy garlicky, aioli type sauce. I didn’t try the other one. *Chicken Fried Rice, $16 - This was good! It was served on a sizzling hot plate. This needs to be eaten right away while hot and we did devour it like there was no tomorrow. *Cheese Bul-Dak, $19 - FIERY but ohhhh so good. I had to stop after a couple of bites. *Golden Fried Chicken, $19 - YUMZA and WOWZA! one of my favourites of the night. It’s the restaurant’s signature chicken dish. Juicy and superbly crunchy! *Soy Garlic Chicken, $20 - WOWZA and YUMZA and my favourite of them all. Perfectly sauced and yet the texture and the crunch and the juiciness of the chicken remained even after a few minutes. *Gangnam Chicken, $20 - YUMZA! The spicy and sweet glaze made this one a winner. *Mala Hot Chicken, $20 - FIERY! The mala sauce was just too much for me! But my friends said it was really good too. *Lemon Cheesling Chicken, $20 - WOWZA and YUMZA! My 3rd favourite of the night. The boneless fried chicken pieces were powdered with mascarpone and cheddar cheesling and coated with their signature lemon sauce. *Spicy Dukk-Bokki, $13 - WOWZA! It was spicy too but this one I was able to handle. This was perfectly done. The sauce was very delicious yet restrained. . The lady at the counter was very welcoming and friendly and very efficient. The owners came to our table and both were very welcoming. It was almost closing time so even the young cook came out and told us information about the dishes. . Will definitely come back again!“
“We had an outstanding dinner at Roy's. The food was modern, creative, flavour full, unique and moorish. We would highly recommend the Brussel sprouts...and perhaps anything on the menu. The service was outstanding. Great for a date night, special occasion or on your own.“
“We came in for the s'more hot chocolate. The drinks were really good. The 2 servers were amazing. They held it together during a massive rush of people being there for hot chocolate fest. We will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.“
“Amazing spot for Korean food!Everything we tried was delicious. It’s a tiny place, so there can be a wait for a table, so better have a reservation on a busy day. There are a few parking spots right outside as well. We’ll have to come back for the hot pot next time, as it seems very popular!“
“Overall, the food was quite good. In particular the beef and the seafood pancake were great. However, the kimchi soup was not that good and we didn't finish that. As well, it is annoying that they charge $2.50 for rice and only give a small portion.“
“My favourite restaurant in Calgary! I used to come here years ago in the mid-2000's and I love the fact they haven't changed because their food was excellent back then, and it still is today. Favourite dishes: chicken lettuce wrap, beef short rip, and japchae!“
“Tasted really good. The seafood is spicy enough and all the dishes are delicious. Highly recommend try their half and half noodles(half original half spicy seafood) and the shrimps(can’t remember the name, the one on the left upon corner in the pic). Definitely worth the price and will come back.“
“I really enjoyed what I believe to be authentic Korean stone bowls. The service was extremely quick at lunch time., They seem to be pretty focused on this particular food genre but also do it very well. The base meal isn't particularly spicy but you can add provided sauce to kick things up! The miso soup was also delicious and unexpected if I'm honest. Give the barley tea a try too to complete the experience. Overall good value and would recommend if you're visiting on foot and looking for authentic KoreanVegetarian options: The menu is pretty focused so not a lot of vegetarian options.Parking: Located on centre street in downtown so yeah, probably best to walk in.Kid-friendliness: Pretty relaxed and comfortable setting for people of all ages.Wheelchair accessibility: The food court are is accessible from the street. Not sure where you would find suitable parking though.“
“Absolutely love this place. One of the hidden gems of Korean food in this city in my opinion. Always amazing service. Always absolutely amazing food. I just can’t stop coming here. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try some amazing Korean food and experience the top notch hospitality.“
“We odered sushi yesterday. This place consistently serves up amazing food. You're going to be surprised and delighted. Before finishing dinner, my parents, two kids and my husband already wanted to order again as we want to try other food on the menu“
“The food was incredible good, even more than I was expecting. The service was also really good too. The staff is very nice and friendly. The staff kindly explained the menu. The store was extremely clean. I would definitely visit here again! My friend found a good restaurant on a blog and we went there together, and it was even better than I expected. The owner was kind enough to explain the menu and provide great service. The store was also really clean and tidy. I think I will definitely visit again!“
“Edit Nov 17/23 - I havent been here for a bit, usually go to the north Wow Chicken so I didnt know they changed their name and some of the menu. The lady was so nice! I asked about the name change, the new food items, she let us try some things. I always get the Gang Jeong space but she also gave me the Mala Buldak sauce to try - hhhoootttttttttt! Wow, only a little and I was sweating! As she gave it to me,she said she liked that sauce....good on you lol, that's a very hot sauce! We had the mozzarella K-dog with sugar to try, that was good too! We then had our usual lunch special. Little different with having a packet of bulgogi powder but it worked, and the chicken thighs were 3 large rather then some smaller ones. All good, nothing bad to say! This always was my favorite Wow Chicken location so I'm glad they stuck around and now serve even a little more under their new name!I cannot say enough about this place except that it is named very accordingly!! Between the sauce (spicy BBQ), the breading, the chicken.... It's amazing!!! Ordered the bulgogi fries....man! Crispy and full of flavor! My only regret was that I didn't try this sooner!!“
“The restaurant is newly open in town, recommended by a friend and we were really amazed by the chicken tikka masala! The food is amazing, I would call it the best in town. Highly recommended!!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free option available!“
“excellent quality friendly fried chicken! the owner Jin and her staff are very professional and love seeing you come back. the food is good and well prepared, the restaurant is clean and tiny and in a great easy location to stop in onnthe way home for dinner.“
“Great spot for Korean BBQ! Meat was marinated good and is very tasty once you cook it.Floors were a bit slick but it was expected due to the BBQ.Staff were very friendly and accommodating.Overall we had a great time and we will be back for more!“
