“I would highly recommend this place for dim sum. However, I must mention that the deep-fried pandan bun (斑斓生煎包) falls below the standard. Nevertheless, every other dish is definitely worth trying. It's a popular spot, the shop is not big so expect to queue before getting a table. The service is average.Parking: You can just find a spot to park in front of the shop. “Wah Sing Dim Sum, on San Gabriel Blvd., is just below Las Tunas Drive. The only time they've disappointed me is when I forget they're closed on Wednesdays. Other than that they make some of the yummiest dim sum around. They make my favorite charsiu.... chasu? chashu?? -- anyway, favorite bbq pork steamed bao here. I don't know what makes them so good. I think there's a hint of ginger in that filling. Their stir-fried noodles, $5.89 under the "Chef's Special" section, are also a steal. Their steamed sausage rolls are good as well. I've only ordered my food to-go. I've only seen diners inside one in a while although admittedly I usually stop in the early afternoon. The ladies behind the counter are no nonsense but sweet; they've thrown a sample my way once or twice. The wait for your food can be more than a few minutes, especially if that item you want isn't fully steamed yet, especially if they're busy, but the extra wait is worth it. They're a dim sum hole-in-the-corner of a strip mall dominated by a Good Fortune Supermarket, which means tons of parking. In fact, every single time I've been there, there's always another customer-- or several customers-- waiting to order, or waiting to receive their order. Speaking of ordering, they have the standard golf pencils (next to a bottle of hand sanitizer) for filling out the order form. There are also laminated menus with photos. “Thought it would just be a quick bite of Shanghai Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, but flipping through the menu felt like a trip back to Shanghai—each dish a deep-rooted memory!Even so, we went all out and ordered a bunch of dishes. Each one was authentically Shanghai, and I especially recommend the Wine Chicken. Honestly, wanted to try everything on the menu. The Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, originally the main attraction, took a back seat. Auntie even brought spicy soy sauce and hot chili powder from Shanghai—selling the sauce for $6 a bottle. The chili powder isn't for sale, but she'll give it to you. Added a new item to the wishlist: Conquer their entire menu!“
“It's been awhile since we had dim sum! Came here, saw a long line but decided to stay and wait, glad we did! While the line looked long but the wait wasn't too bad... every servers here were working fast and attentive to everyone as quickly as they could. Before you know it, we were in front of the line to place our orders!Food 5 Stars Everything we ordered tasted delish! “Had dinner with my family last Friday and boy is this place fancy. We arrived around 5:30 and it was pretty empty. There are private rooms and apparently, that's the place to be because our server kept disappearing into those rooms with some amazing dishes of stir-fried clams, crab, and whatnot. But, back to my dinner: we ordered a sampler platter: bbq pork, duck and roast pork with cracklin' skin. The center portion was goma wakame seaweed salad, stir fried string beans with (very salty) minced pork; beef shortribs that were tasty, but kind of tasted like pork (it was definitely beef), fish filet with tender choy sum, seafood soup, and one other dish. If you want steamed fish, it will be market price (pricey, no surprise). Generally, the food was very flavorful and well executed, espcially the veggies and roast pork -- the string beans were the best! I would say some of their dishes are not what I'm used to from other Chinese restaurants flavor profile-wise (not that it's a bad thing), so I'll have to come back to try some of their seafood dishes. Service was pretty good. Our waiter was dressed up and wore gloves. The place has a hotel banquet hall vibe. Seems this place is popular for dimsum as I've heard, so I'll have to come back during the day and see how that goes. Will be back!“
“Very good food. Dim sum options are made to order, the serving size of the dim sum dishes are somewhat larger than others. Crispy stuffed chicken is actually shrimp/pork stuffed between fried crispy chicken skin. Black truffle friend rice is excellent too. Friendly staff. Location is somewhat hard to find because from the outside it kinda looks like a motel. Indoor decor has a Spanish cafe feel to it, which seemed odd, but who cares it's great food.“
“The red bean puff is so delicious. This is a really good dim sum place I’d highly recommend it. It is now one of my favorite places and I can’t wait to go back. The prices are also very reasonable. Best custard bun I’ve ever had. I did miss choosing the dim sum from the carts though.“
“Haven't been back here since it's been sold from two owners ago. The switch to Shanghai cuisine is nice! I like the way the 馬蘭頭 (Indian Aster) was finely chopped. It's the smallest I've seen anywhere! The 油爆蝦 was cut down the middle to better let the oils get all the way in, making the skin really crisp! Their 外灘香酥鴨 ("Outer Beach" Crisp-Fried duck) was really good. It looked like it would have been dried out, but the juices stayed inside, and still maintained a crispy skin. The 蔥烤立魚 (Scallion-grilled Snapper) was alright, it featured a sweet-soy sort of taste, that smothered the entire fish with. The 紅燒肉 (Red-braised Pork) is pretty standard, but still good! Just make sure to be ready for the Heart attack! Then we topped it off with the 白果污泥甜湯 (Gingko + Tarot Puree Dessert Soup).Parking: Shared with the Tasty Choice. Be careful of parking at the back. Not sure if it belongs to a Chinese church or not.“

“Haven't been here since remodeled. Prices are good based on the area, and no need to pay tips because almost everything is self serve. However, service is ok but not every employee has good service. Food is good, and you have to self serve soy sauce or chili sauce etc. Porridge is still an excellent and big portion in my opinion. I like the Pork Chop and the black pepper sauce is the perfect match, and pork chops are not dry. Probably a place will come back for brunch.“
“Back in my chef-in-training days, a pal tipped me off about this hidden gem. Fast forward to a grocery run at Good Fortune Supermarket, my partner and I stumbled upon Lucious and Mackys! We went with Lucious and boy, were we in for a treat! The inside was very clean and modern, had beautiful asian pictures of food hehehe! From the crispy Pan-fried pork dumplings bursting with flavor to the divine Angus Stewed Beef noodle soup, everything was a solid 5/5. The generous portions even left us with some takeaway goodies. It’s a small family-run counter serve operation with great Hawaiian inspired plate lunch comfort food, especially for meat lovers.The place is tucked in a corner of the Vons mall at the southwest corner of Myrtle and Foothill, so plenty of free parking. The chef and manager Ken took my order and was very friendly and helpful to recommend certain specialties on their menu.I ordered the Chicken Combo (BBQ Chicken and the crispy Katsu Chicken) and the Hawaiian BBQ Mix (BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, and substituted Teriyaki Chicken in place of Kalbi Beef). Both plates come with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of Mac Salad. “Ate lunch here for the first time. Ordered dim sum and beef noodles. All were really good. Good flavor, not overtly seasoned and low salt, in fact i had to add some soy sauce to a few items. I prefer to add salt if needed. Great, friendly staff. Highly recommend ????“
“One of the best places for dim sum you could hope for. Line around the building waiting for it to open. Every table filled shortly after opening and more people waiting outside. Get there early. Luckily my coworker arrived 15 minutes before opening and we were first in line.“
“Maybe because I'm used to the subpar OC standards of dimsum where it tastes bland but they over charge you, Happy Harbor actually was a refreshing delicious experience. My party ordered the usual suspects of dimsum, chicken feet, spare ribs, shumai, hargow, tripe, porridge etc and the total bill came out to be only $80~ for 4 people which is decent! Ofc, the SGV-snob in me thinks this is still not up to snuff but the OC dimsum-starved me thinks this is amazing already. Oh also you order off a menu like most newer dimsum places so you do not get to enjoy the dimsum cart lady experience but to each their own.“
“The service is very fast and the portion sizes were very generous! The food is very fresh, and usually if they are out, it'll take them about 10 minutes to steam a new batch. The chicken feet is usually spicy at other restaurants, but this one has a sweeter taste, which is not my preference. The salty egg bun is literally a gooey liquid center, highly recommended!“
“Taking off a star as they couldn't tell me if there were peanuts in the food, due to my allergy. I hesitated with proceeding with my order, but decided to go for it as I was getting it to-go, and I'd be able to deal with my allergy if it had peanuts. Thankfully I was ok, but I still didn't like that they didn't know.I got the bun bun sampler and the bunny soup dumpling, as it sounded like that's what they were known for. When I went to pick it up, I noticed that they were part of a larger restaurant, which threw me off a bit. The food remained warm by the time I got home, so I didn't need to heat it up. I enjoyed the fried soup a lot. It was different from what I've had before. The bun bun sampler was a bit bready to me but the flavors were satisfying. I probably wouldn't go out of my way for them, but for that moment, it was a satisfying meal.“
“Tried them for the first time the other week. Was on my way from Rancho Mirage to LA and needed to pickup some lunch to bring to some lunch over. This place is right off the San Gabriel exit on Highway 10, so quite convenient. There wasn't much in terms of variety but the food was good except for one item (hom sui gok). The egg tart was the best. The egg filling was very light and the pastry was very flaky. Overall food was very decent but wish they had more variety.“
“Omg one of the best dim sum place I've had! After the pandemic everyone elses' portions (or size) went down but not theirs. I was super surprised to see that each of the familiar items are all the same size as what we're used to. The flavor is outstanding and super authentic! According to the owners the chief was already a sim sum chef back in Hong Kong. We ordered for 2 and it came out to be about $40 ish. Well worth the money especially when everyone else is super expensive. There's only 1 small table outside so don't expect to be able to occupy it. “It was REALLY good food! Absolutely superb! The fried rice was some of the best I've ever tasted! And the Dan Dan noodles were also amazing!We went there for lunch so there was zero wait time and only one other person when we got there. As we finished up there was nearly ten in at the tables, so we beat the rush.The waitress was nice and took our orders quickly. She was a little pushy at the end when she was asking why we hadn't left a bigger tip but that was OK. We're all trying to make ends meet.Overall a great experience! Thanks you!“
