“Came here with a reservation and needed to wait about 5 minutes to get seated. I was sat at the bar in the back which could see into the open part of the kitchen which was fun to watch preparation and plating. I really enjoyed the pancake with mountain yam. I thought the lettuce/greens basket was fresh with good variety. Service was very friendly.“
“Really good experience and good value for money. We went as a family and enjoyed the ritual ofgrilling together. Super professional and friendly service in a genuine (but simple) setting. Quality of food was really good, but no expensive or luxurious cuts - still however good value for money.DO NOT bring clothing you need to wear again as ventilation is really poor and the BBQ smell is strong - you will need to wash!!“
“Every meal is delicious!Carnivores must try this! ! It was a great meal. The boss Andy is very kind and seems to be a gourmet. He also pays great attention to the quality of the meat. He grills the meat at the table to avoid being screwed up if we grill it ourselves?“
“Went back today and all I can say is that it’s better than last time! You gotta try the Porchetta nachos - they are “hella” tasty! I had the shrimp po’ boy and loved it. Ask for extra sauce on the side if you want it New Orleans style. Fantastic! We also got two Reuben’s and let Johnny customize them for us. And the chicken sandwich! Ah, a delight.I had doubts about the margarita but that seemed to disappear very quickly.I’d share a picture but we ate it all so fast.“
“Came here for a 13-person birthday dinner and they were able to accommodate really well. I even brought in my own baked cake and they were able to store and later serve it!Their hits are definitely the galbi, I also liked their pork belly, japchae, steamed egg.One of the better kbbq joints in SF!“
“This spot is such an amazing find. The food is delicious, the staff are all incredibly kind, and it's a very casual restaurant to grab lunch or dinner. This restaurant has entered my rotation of post-workout dinners when I just want something tasty and filling. I usually order the Erbil Kebab, which comes with rice and salad. It's a huge portion for one person, but a little small to feed two. You certainly get a ton of value for the price! Also... the toum (garlic sauce) is addictive--You've been warned!“
“Well, how do you do! What a fantastic foodie find. Small shop that packs enormous flavor.Their kimchi fried is great with onions, kimchi & tiny squares of tofu that is seasoned to perfection. Jap chae with slivers of carrots, green onions and yellow onions. That galbi was a show stopper, grilled before my very eyes, lightly sauced tender to the touch it separated from the bone every so easily. The small portion of kimchi that's included is not enough. You can thankfully purchase a mason jar of kimchi. The portion sizes are fat kid pleasing.Go in pairs parking is terrible. They take cards“
“Great experience! Haven’t had Chamorro food outside of Guam so it was a pleasant surprise. Love the vibe of the place and the quality of the food. Only thing was they asked if we wanted chili and it ended up being four dollars without informing us there was a charge.“
“Our party of four got the four-person tasting menu, which included rice, banchan, and the following dishes:Kalbi: Tender BBQ beef short rib marinated in a special house sauce.Bulgogi: Tender BBQ ribeye marinated in a special house sauce.Spicy Pork: Mildly spicy and smoky BBQ pork marinated in a special house sauce.Japchae Noodles: Lightly sautéed vermicelli noodles with beef and vegetables.Spicy Tofu Soup: Tofu soup in beef broth with beef and vegetables. This restaurant boasts 100% mesquite wood charcoal grills, a feature that enhances the taste in a way gas grills cannot replicate.I particularly enjoyed the Kalbi; it was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned. The Japchae noodles also impressed me with their delicious taste; the balance between sweetness and saltiness was spot on. Additionally, the tofu soup was excellent, satisfying my craving perfectly. For those planning to dine here, I recommend arriving early, as there is typically a 30-minute wait. Also, for convenience, there's street parking available, as well as a nearby public parking lot near the Smart and Final stores.“
“Cute place. Went for lunch and it was very quiet. Nice and relaxing. A decent amount of tables inside. And it’s very bright and airy. The Kung pao chicken wasn’t spicy at all. It tasted very good though, and the rice was cooked perfectly. The Shanghai soup dumplings had great flavor. And are on the small side, you can eat them in one bite. The shrimp tempura was very crispy. The vegetable pot stickers had lots of veggies packed in like corn and spinach. The bubble tea I got just tasted like milk. It was pretty large though and I got double boba and the cheese foam. The boba was super fresh and very good.I liked that they had a bathroom but the toilet water was brown and all on the inside of the toilet was brown and it grossed me out.Though overall I def recommend!“
“Every year for Christmas order. I would recommend FilAm get more organized and have a system and process for people to pickup. Use a numbering system like at the butchers. And have more than 1 person to help people. Utilize your staff better pls, it's just chaos for no reason.- clear line for pickup- grab a number- have 3-4 people at the front who can assist. 1 person is not enough.- designate clear roles to each person.“
“Okay I only stopped in a few shots and a couple glasses of wine deep for a slice of pizza late night but honestly that slice hit so hard, delicious with a nice oily gristle to it and the perfect size to fold in half and go to town. The guys working here were friendly too. Thanks “
“Ordered BBQ catering for a Christmas party. Everything was amazing, on time, great communication and easy. I paid via invoice, and then just showed up to pick up everything. Would order again! Brisket, chicken, and mac and cheese were all delicious.“
“I think I could eat Purple Rice's Veggie Soft Tofu stew every day for the rest of my life. I've tried a number of Korean food places in the city and this has by far been the best and most consistently delicious. They're so accommodating with vegetarian/vegan modifications, service is always super quick and kind, and even the takeout is super high quality/great quantity. Their rice cakes jap chae are also delicious! Hope Purple Rice is around forever.“
“Went here after watching a show in the area. A small quaint place that is open till late. The servers were really nice and friendly. We got kinchi fried rice with chicken and spicy sauce boneless fried chicken. The spicy sauce was more sweet and less spicy and I wish it were the other way around but overall food was decent.“
“I've passed by Baby Blues hundreds of times and made the mistake of never stopping in. I ordered ribs, mac and cheese, and collard greens. All of the items were delicious and the ribs were as good as any I've had in San Francisco. Couple great food with with warm and friendly service and it's clear that I should add Baby Blues into the rotation of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. See you again soon.“
“10/10 this place is hidden gem The price is so affordable and i would say all the meat is really come in high quality! They even provide free lobster tail that's crazy! In that price 40$ something both hotpot and grill comes with wagyu beef! You will never find anywhere like this in sf in this price !!!“
“TLDR: nice grill flavor on the meat, sauce is a little lacking.I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes for the price and the nice grill marks on the meat. The beef rib was tasty and cooked well though the sauce is a little just sugary but not much else. I liked most of the items on the plate and I haven’t had this place in my long time of living in SF but I’m glad I finally tried!“
“I've had Vegan Mob at 4 different locations and this one's another great one. I had already been going to Hangry Planet for a late night vegan snack so it was a nice surprise to see that Vegan Mob would start operating the food truck in their parking lot. I could use another spot in SF but this is cool cause I can go to Hangry Planet for a beverage or vegan ice cream coneSmackaroni for the win.“
“Trust me. Asian flavors at its best. Be surprised with real Asian hustling and bustling. If you're looking for top service, you won't get it here. Pay the price and go elsewhere. Cash only.Tons of dishes to choose from. Tons of dim sum as well. White rice with 3 entrees, $5.50!! Dim sum rarely more than $3. A hearty meal for 3.....<$26! Where do you find such deal post COVID??If you like the information, please "like". Thanks“
“The Bay Area is notorious for having awful barbecue but man Drew is an exception! Ordered a rib plate with beans and mac & cheese. The ribs were so damn flavorful and the portions were HUGE. Mac & cheese was creamy and the beans were great as well. Drew threw in a chicken leg quarter on the house and that was SO amazing as well. It was tender, juicy, and smoky. I might have liked it more than the ribs! You can taste the passion that goes into the food. I’m definitely coming back to try the links one day! 5/5“
“Food: 4.3/5 best bang for your buck here! i can tell that this hole in the wall is a place where lots of blue collar workers come in and out of to pick up a quick and filling lunch for a great price. we got the Loco Moco and the Teriyaki Mixed Plate Lunch and they both hit the spot. the char on the Teriyaki Mixed Plate was delicious and plentiful. the loco moco was good but the gravy tends to make the entire plate soggy so if they had dividers in their to go containers that would be ideal. both plates were hefty big boys that were able to feed us for two meals because we couldn't finish it on the first round. the worker was nice enough to move the table and let me see their drink selection because he saw I was leaning and squinting towards them to read the labels haha. overall, a great meal for a great price in SF(coming from a broke college student)“
“I wasn't expecting much from BBQ in California, but MAN, the food here is delicious at this little BBQ spot. My wife and I got the brisket, bacon & cheddar link and the pulled pork to share and it did not disappoint in the least. Everyone who worked there was extremely nice and food came out quickly. The location was perfect and when the weather is beautiful, it is such a nice place to eat and peoplewatch. The beans were out of this world, and I found that if I took a bite of pickle and then chased it with a spoonful of beans, some sort of magical flavor bomb happens that I just can't explain, but it was delicious. All the meat was tender, hot, and was really on point. Next time I'm in SF, I'm definitely going back. SO FREAKIN GOOD! (oh and that spiked lemonade really hit the spot - loved it)“
“It’s been a while but I’m back. Appreciate all my fans who have been with me for a min on this journey. Today, we ate at umma, a great Korean restaurant. Soon tofu was good. It wasn’t what I’m used to but it was a new flavor and take on soon tofu that I enjoyed. Wow, just wow I have to say about the Korean wings. I got the citrus gochujang and it was amazing. Crunchy and flavorful. Tyeokboki, idk how to spell it tbh but it was alright. I like the ramen they put on top. Overall, great vibes and flavor.“
“It was a really small place with a couple of tables but I had a good time. Even though I felt like our mouths never stopped moving they gave us two more kebabs because they were swamped and the food didn't came out as quickly as usual.“
“Love the BBQ chicken and ribs combo plate, baked potato and pasta salad, delicious Greek salad as well. We drive more than 20 miles just to eat here! Been doing that for 20 years now! Looked more modern and renewed in our last visit but still can feel the soul of this place! Best rotisserie chicken in the Bay Area!!! For got to take pics cause we could wait to taste the food ?“
“The portion size is really big, serving 3 people each. And it was so, so delicious!! suggestion!! The pork skin is crispy and perfect. The owner has a strong accent, which can be a bit confusing, but he was friendly and the tea was delicious~~ It was neither salty nor bland?“
“Best Korean BBQ restaurant in SSF! There are no grills for you to cook your own, but the meat based dishes are very full flavoured. Service request is with a bell installed at each table (love it). The ambient is well lit. Larger party friendly. Kpop videos playing on the screens. All that is expected in the best ways.Vegetarian options: There isn't much purely vegetarian dishes. If you are ok with meat mashed soup with vegetarian 'toppers' then you'll be fine with tofu soups, fried tofu, etc. Ban chans are veggies based.“
“The food is great and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The dishes are large, tasty, and of good quality. I am.only giving 3 stars for atmosphere because the resto was super cold and although it was crowded and we were not near the door, we were COLD. Quite simply, they don't use any heating. So be warned.“
“Very strange experience. I ordered the Ohana Supa Bowl with bbq chicken. It was the same exact thing as a plate.. just served in a bowl. It wasn't prepared differently. This chicken was not diced differently. It was 3 or 4 bbq'd whole chicked thigh fillets with 2 scoops of rice and heaping portion of mac salad. Why is this on the menu?Edit: the food item was not bad, it was merely confusing. Maybe if it was called a small plate I would have been less confused.“
“Grilled Korean Barbecued Steak, fresh salads with cucumber and Kim Chee, my family drove from Sonoma County to San Francisco to enjoy delicious Korean dishes, and Wooden Charcoal Korean restaurant was worth the time and drive. The food was brilliant. The restaurant team was great. Excellent management. The grilled barbecue tasted delicious. We ate everything. My daughter loves Korean dishes now.“
“Been coming here for years and this place is still the best Hawaiian food in the area. You get the best bang for your buck here. Prices have gone up which is to be expected but the portions have never changed. You still get a whole lotta food that can feed you for more than one meal. Recently, I ordered the chicken Katsu regular plate with all mac salad, we had rice at home. This plate fed myself, my 3 daughters n there was still some left to pack for the hubby's lunch for work the next day. I love that the chicken isn't too beaten, it's still very meaty and not flat at all. Fam favorite for sure. Party trays are amazing and a good deal as well. Definitely coming back. I hope this place never leaves. It is a mom & pop shop and they do only take cash so be prepared. If you're ordering for party trays, be ready to pay in full prior to pick up. But it's definitely worth it.“
“The service was exceptional!! Owner worked so hard, cleared a table immediately for us. So friendly and fun, the food, so delicious. Place was packed. Not a lot of seating but a lot of orders were take out. He gave us some samples of the tomato soup which was the best I've ever had. It was exactly what we were looking for. Smokey tender meats and great sides. We were so happy with our choice!!!“
“Excellent bistro, but quiet as a graveyard on a Tuesday night. Seeing as how I was there for a business meeting, not a bad thing. The four of us had a good discussion with no distractions. Artisan cocktails were excellent! Try the Smoky Manhattan,,,a real game changer! We all went for the pork shank special served on a bed of grits and greens and couldn't have been more delighted. Beautifully seasoned and a superb dish in all respects. I'll be back!“
“Friendly staff. Huge portions that taste terrific. You can ask for less rice and more macaroni salad on the plate lunches. Have bought take out plates of the Chicken Katsu and each one served 2-3 people. Love the Pork Lau Lau & the kahlua pork, offered with or without cabbage. The only thing they lack is island deserts. They have boxes of imported cookies.“
“I like this place. Basic, no frills, Hawaiian BBQ. My favorite is the Shrimp Noodle soup. Large bowl of veggies' shrimp and super hot broth. Noodles on the side in the to go orders. Such nice noodles. Cooked perfectly so they finish cooking when you add them to the hot broth. Highly recommended. All of the other Hawaiian BBQ dishes also on the menu. Not much on atmosphere though.“
“Came here after the Easter egg hunt with my boy and a friend. Didn't do an appointment so service to get a seat was a little slow. Once we were seated they gave us time to see what we wanted. We got the meat combo order for 3 people and it didn't disappoint. My boy who is a little picky really enjoyed their food. Just so you know, they run the restaurant a little cold because the burners are on constantly. Overall it was a great first time experience for my little boy and eating with friends is also a great thing. Lastly they have those large alcohol tubes for large tables (like they do at Dave and busters).“
“It tastes like proper Korean food!Stir-fried jewok is really delicious^^I highly recommend it~^^Even when I miss Korean food while travelingEven if you are a foreigner who is curious about Korean food~I bet everyone will fall in love??It was so delicious that I ate more than half of it.“
“Came here for a late lunch and ordered thr katsu bowl ($8.95+tax) and the bbq traditional combo ($15.45+tax) - pretty good value for the price! The katsu was fried quite well for a fast food place - crispy outside, and not too dry inside. The sauce that came with it was tasty as well. The bbq combo had one kalbi rib, 3 pieces of bbq chicken and several large slices of thin beef- everything was seasoned thoroughly. The thin beef was a little dry, but still tasted pretty decent. There was rice and macaroni salad and some lettuce on the side as well. This is a great meatlover’s dish!Parking: Parking lot is rly busy due to the In and Out right across from it… traffic from there can back up to this parking lot“
“This restaurant is located in the Mission Plaza Shopping Center. There's plenty of parking. They share the parking lot with Lucky's, Jollibee, Red Ribbon Bakery, Iguana Taqueria, and Starbucks. When my wife and I entered this restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly cashier. We ordered the mixed BBQ combo plate, musubi trio, BBQ chicken plate, and the Kuala pork with cabbage. The mixed bbq combo plate consisted of bbq beef ribs, bbq chicken , bbq beef. The meats were cooked to perfection. They were all tender. They trimmed off the fat , which we really appreciated. The musubi trio consisted of spam, BBQ chicken, and chicken katsu. They were all flavorful. The Kuala pork with cabbage was kind of on a little dry side. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. The cashier told us that the orders would be ready in 15 minutes and they only took about 12 minutes. They were generous with the portions and the prices were reasonable. The food was still hot when we got home. We will definitely be back to try their Loco Moco, healthy plates, and Saimin.“
“Chef Li's is a great place to go for a quick bite or even a family dinner. The place is like a typical Chinese take out restaurant with options running from roasted pig to roasted duck or soy sauce chicken and everything in between. I usually order ahead of schedule and ordering 3 entrees takes about 15 minutes, 20 at most. They are very efficient and I never get wrong orders.“
“I've been a resident of San Bruno for over 18 years and I had no idea that a year and a half ago Chef May transformed this place into a deliciously Soulful BBQ Shack! The atmosphere and vibe was inviting relaxed and very pleasant. Plenty of seating but the menu is very limited. I strongly recommend that you get there early because food options run out quickly and choices become very limited. The line forms and I was there and watched Chef May have to turn away several customers because she had sold out.My son and I enjoyed burnt ends, ribs, beef, barbecue baked beans, collard greens and cornbread. It was all extremely filling, wonderfully seasoned and very flavorful.Chef May herself is a fantastic soul who totally enjoys what she's doing and the food she preparing. Felt like family instantly. Finally some delicious barbecue and soul food right here in San Bruno! Thanks Chef May, I'll make sure to tell everybody I know keep doing it!Parking: There is a free parking lot however you'll be lucky if there's ever a space available because it's extremely small. You're better off finding a spot on El Camino and just walking up.“
“Food is sichuan style and perfect for people who love spicy food. I recommend the bean spouts, the goats in spicy sauce and other famous dishes. Service can be hit or miss. The owner who is a kind and generous lady gives great advices, but one server dude is not too friendly. Well maybe he had a bad say. Anyway I really like Chef Sha and I will go back again.“
“Great Japanese BBQ restaurant. Food is always fresh and consistent. Service is quick. Love the atmosphere too, everybody working is so upbeat and nice. Try to come during their happy hour, good deal and less crowded. Great value all around, always fun experience and our go-to place for family gathering.“
“When I came to the United States and got tired of eating hamburgers and other Western-style food, I had no choice but to eat tofu pot to satisfy my craving for white rice. This Mom's Tofu is very close to the hotel, within walking distance, and there is good parking nearby. Shopping and drinking coffee can be arranged nearby, which is very convenient. After eating the tofu hotpot for two days in a row, I feel that the taste is not much different. In California, the soft tofu hotpot is usually meat + tofu hotpot + small dishes. It is similar to Taiwan, the taste is not too spicy, and the price is higher than the previous day. Food is more expensive in Los Angeles.“
“Except for the fact that I arrived at nearly closing time and the restaurant didn't have any soy sauce chicken left nor chicken wings, this place NVR disappoints . Just as the saying goes - Timing is Everything and I sorta missed out so just went with something else. NWs“
“Great service, and the skewers were great! We ordered a variety of skewers and most of them, though a little pricey, were very nice. We particularly enjoyed the Chicken Thigh with Green Onions, the Bacon Tomato which was bursting with flavour, and the Beef Tongue. We tried the Scallop with Uni skewer, but felt that the flavours didn't work too well with each other. The Curry Gyutan Over Rice dish that we got was a bit disappointing though, as the meat was not that high of quality, so would definitely recommend sticking with ordering just skewers. Great atmosphere and nice seating on both first and second floors. You could also smell the grills of the kitchen, which definitely helped make this feel like an authentic Japanese skewer place!“
“Loved the food. Got the kalbi short rib, the kalbi Chuck, hanger steak Angus grade and the skirt steak. Meat was soft so it cooked really well. Our server was very attentive, service was quick. I liked the ambience of the place, very rustic feel. I'd recommend this place“
“The now go to place as the Serramonte hawaiian food place shut down. This one has a good selection of food and the quantity of each order can easily be saved for left overs or shared. There is an open sauce bar and the general vibe is eat quick and leave. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but not a real sit and chat beyond eating kind of vibe in the place.Parking: The lot around the restaurant is tight, especially as it is a little nook around H&R block... but the rest of the parking lot is open and available, just a small walk.“
