“Service was unusually distracted, with table clearing occurring prior to permission and large periods of time between service. Reaching across guests and late bottle of wine delivery caught my attention. Perhaps there was a shortage of staff last night? The kitchen did not disappoint which is always my experience at Animae. ❤️❤️“
“I've come here a couple of times now, and the food is delicious! I would say that this location is better than some of their sister restaurants! The only downside i would point out atmosphere-wise is that theres some hodge-podge stuff innthe corners and you can see cords and plugs here and here (very minimal "issues"). Sydney served our party this visit and was very kind!Parking: As is expected with any place in Convoy, parking can be hard“
“We tried the Pallea, Pork Tacos, Cubano de Carne, and Tallarin Verde chicken. All were delicious and fresh. We also tried one of each of their specialty drinks. Mojito won 1st place. Maracuya won 2nd. Sangria and Lychee tied for 3rd. Fun place to enjoy something new. Will return regularly.Kid-friendliness: Low key dining.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access.“
“This place is awesome! The whole menu is great! I had the Japanese curry, fried chicken and rice bowl. It was amazing! The kind of food that makes you want to rush home and eat!You can order online before you arrive, or order at the place…if you have any questions about the menu, they willing to explain anything and even make suggestions. If you ever visit the Pacific Beach area, definitely stop here for food!Vegetarian options: My wife is a vegan….and she found a bowl that she absolutely loves!“
“For $7 tickets, The copycat group of Fleetwood Mac, that call themselves Fleetwood Max were awesome! They played a whole set at the Holding Company on Sunday, and their music was on point. Sounded just like the originals! The lead singer was just channeling Stevie Nicks...We did not eat , but I will next time. The Holding Company Music venue is full every weekend.“
“I recommend!! Definitely a hidden gem! ?The food and service were great! Our server Sam was very attentive and kind.We got the Gnocchi Urbino which is gnocchi with white sauce, sausage, mushroom in a thick bread bowl. It was delicious and flavorful !! Rosemary was a nice touch. Perfect for sharing ?We also got the wings for happy hour and they were soooo yummy!Love the concept and unique combinations :)“
“This place is so cute- a bit of a hole in the wall with outdoor seating. It's aligned with the ambiance of PB. The spam musubi is just okay tbh, but my favorite thing to get is the Jr. Boy, which is sooooo good 5/5. The sausage and egg with rice is a delicious small savory thing to eat after having the french toast. The coconut syrup served with the french toast is amazing. I wish I was closer because I want to try out all the other food!“
“First time visiting this place. It was a cute, cozy atmosphere. It feels like you're in someone's home. They have a full bar and food menu. I ordered the steak and fries and the BF ordered a burger. We started with their calamari and drinks. I have to say, everything was GOOD. Food was fresh and delicious. My bloody mary was really good and well put together. Service could have been better, but I don't regret trying this place.“
“During restaurant week, I was enthralled by the vibrant colors that adorned the place. It's a delightful fusion of Latino and Asian flavors. A highlight was witnessing a seasoned female bartender patiently instructing a novice on crafting a virgin drink.“
“This place was SO amazing! Every dish was so thoughtfully crafted and creatively presented (all paired with a beautiful edible flower) The portions were perfect, prices were very fair, the ambiance of the restaurant reflected the taste of love within the food. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Mango curryPapaya SaladGuava SaladGreen SaladVeggie EggrollsAnd more!“
“I have been to this specific restaurant once before at this location. Area is busy, parking is hard to find. I went on a Friday at around 3ish. Dining area was not full. I was seated right away. Order taken within rhe first 3 minutes of sitting down. Waitress had great attitude and checked on me regularly. Had a great time , happy, satisfied with the plate of rhe month, enough food. Same great flavor. The best miso soup in SD.“
“Returning after almost 2 years. It's a great spot is still recommended but service cant stay high, they should not be seating people here who aren't in groups and the bar is half empty. I'm staying at a lamp if i look up, the blender exhaust is blowing on my food, and I'm completely isolated. The only saving grace is the bar tender is doing a good job.“
“What. A. Burger! A Spicy Pad Kaprao Pork Burger with a very flavorful spice that was out of this world. Sticky rice for the bun took it over the top in a way that I've never thought to try. The fried egg was the finishing touch that will get me back in the ship.“
“A little bit of Portland, OR (pre COVID) in the heart of San Diego Beach country. My wife and I tried OB last night and we were not disappointed. So far this is the best restaurant we have enjoyed in the San Diego area and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good fried rice dish. The setting is a half bar and half restaurant but even with two kids we didn't feel out of place nor did we feel like we were in an adult only place. I highly recommend OBs if you want a good meal near Mission Bay.“
“We love eating here. Carla the cashier is super friendly, very attentive and gave us information on how to earn points towards our food since we eat here all the time. She was very helpful and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend the tofu dishes!“
“Really fun atmosphere with great food! As busy as they were, the service was higher than I expected so kudos to the staff. Food was amaaaaazing. Cocktails were great too. We had the garlic spicy wings and their house special friend rice - a must try!!“
“We had a great experience visiting sunset cliff with this amazing delicious Thai food. We ordered yellow curry, tomyun soup, orange chicken, chicken wings etc. everything is good. And very nice servers.Parking: There’s a free parking in front of it“
“We sat on the patio. I’m here from out of town and have to eat clear liquids. The gal at the checkout suggested the shiitake & daikon soup. It was delicious!!! I got some more to go. My friends ordered from the appetizers and sides menu. The portions were very generous and delicious. If I’d live here, I’d come here often.“
“The owner was very kind and I came with my family even though I asked for takeout, the man told me to go with my wife so I wouldn't worry, he would take the food to the car, nice action on his part and everything we brought was very delicious, thank you ?“
“I had an issue with my food delivery and management was very helpful with finding a solution, but I have to shout out Lindsay. She’s the one who answered my phone call and was the sole person I communicated with. She was very apologetic for the mishap even though it had nothing to do with her. She even RAN MY FOOD OUT TO ME in the middle of OB rush hour because parking would be impossible. I hope the store manager sees this and acknowledges how rad her service was!“
“Between all the taco shops in the area this place is a fresh breath of air. Best of all they have 2 vegetarian protein options (tofu and plant steak). I got a bowl with plant steak and veggies over brown rice. The flavours were spot on. The wait time was minimal.“
“Very good Asian inspired bowls. The pork belly bowl with rice was good and the umami gravy on top was delicious. I got delivery and the bowl was still fresh and hot. I'll definitely be ordering from here again.Update: the chicken karaage bowl wasn't that good after sitting for a while but I bet it's good when it's fresh and crisp at the restaurant“
“Try outside of your comfort zone and you’ll realize all the food in this place is bomb. The owners are so nice and polite, if you have questions about the menu, they provide honest feedback/suggestions. Small space, but perfect for take out so you can enjoy back at home! Serving sizes is perfect in their containers and for the price in my honest opinion.“
“The food at this downtown location (and the North Park location) is always fantastic. The pork belly broth (Tonkatsu) in the Underbelly Ramen is flavorful with just enough salt.I also love that they have sparkling water on tap (available without an additional charge). The wait staff are patient and fun! The bar at this location is very fun and picturesque. It's an excellent photo spot. I also like that they have seating upstairs.“
“I was in the area and have been wanting to try their souffle pancakes. It was SO good here. Ordered the Salted Caramel one to share with a friend. We will need to come back with a large group and order different ones so we can try the others. It was a 30+ minute Wait. I got a lychee rose refresher and that was pretty good too!“
“Very bold move to open a jack of all trades restaurant in a place where you can get almost the best of specialized asian cruisines. That being said, the tonkotsu ramen and Popcorn chicken were very impressive. I highly recommend. Especially because it's hard to find $15 dollar ramens nowadays that still gives you all the amenities that belong in a good bowl of ramen.Popcorn chicken was freshly fried, well seasoned and delicious. Very happy with those two purchases. My wife wasn't too happy with the curry udon, but imo it's her fault for ordering it in the first place. It's not the restaurant's fault that curry doesn't belong with noodles haha. But if curry with noodles is your thing, it's got everything you'd want in there, plus they add cheese too.Come give them a try. I'm sure I'm not the only one skeptical since they do a few different cuisines.“
“Stopped by before heading to Belmont Park. The views were pretty great and the rooftop as a whole is really nice. The black pepper tuna roll was pretty great and the sashimi and shisito pepper appetizer was pretty good too.Overall it’s nice and a great location. Service was somewhat slow at 6pm on a Friday. And restaurant maybe half full. Wouldn’t let us take any tabletops by the edge “in case it got busy,” which was weird. The hour we were there it did not get busier.I’d still definitely recommend stopping by.“
“Great place for sushi and overall dinner out. Very friendly service, delicious rolls, fresh sushi ?. Would recommendVegetarian options: Good option for various choicesDietary restrictions: Gluten freeParking: Good size parking lotKid-friendliness: Good for families“
“I like the taste of the crispy wings here, especially the spicy ones. They will be perfect for me if the batter is a little lighter. I also like the bulgogi bibimbap. It has the good balanced amount of rice, vegetables and meat. I do not care for the sweet sauce that comes with it but as long as the sriracha sauce is available I am happy.“
“Restaurant located in front of San Diego Bay, an exceptional location, with a beautiful view of the San Diego Sky Line. The restaurant has a decoration themed in the Polynesian Islands, as does the food. Very healthy and tasty.Parking: There is plenty of parking next to the restaurant.“
“I actually like the spot except the orange chicken which was a nasty or old and we also placed an order online and decided to pay the restaurant when we got there so then they call me and say it's a big order we need a credit card over the phone and they also said, do you wanna leave a tip? Order was only like $60 I guess but should I be tipping if it's a pick up order?“
“This is a nice little pho and sushi restaurant tucked away at 6th after the freeway on ramp. Sushi and pho are the perfect SoCal combo. I ordered a large bowl of the House special pho (pho dac biet), a small hot sake, and a rainbow roll.Everything was delicious and I was stuffed. The sushi was skillfully and quickly prepared and the deluxe pho had great soup with the right saltiness. On top of that the place is spacious with incredibly high ceilings, great big TVs and cool lights.I'll be back again and I'm sure the spot may be perfect for karaoke, a games night, or even watching sports games or Ru Paul's Drag Race.“
“obis sushi is a restaurant that I ran into by chance on one of my many deliveries through the San Diego area 3 years ago. the first thing that caught my attention was the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. it gives you a very home comfortable feeling that gives you peace of mind and really soothes you in to be able to enjoy your meal. the music in the restaurant is present but at a low volume so as not to be intrusive when you have friends with you and are enjoying a good talk with each other all the while relishing in your meal. This brings me to the main part, the food. The food is nothing short of amazing and very generous when it comes to portion sizes. While sushi is the main calling card, they provide a good amount of alternatives for those looking for other options like yakisoba katsudon plates curry and so on. My personal favorites are the ex-chargers roll and the dynamite roll. They also carry a bevy of alcoholic beverages from asahi to Sapporo hot sake and a selection of wine (That's just based off the time I ordered a plum wine). Finally from the owner to the waitresses, the restaurant staff provide a top notch service and are always in communication with the diners informing them of seasonal specials and providing changes to the menu that are within reason of the meal options being provided. They stay on top of providing refills without keeping you waiting and all around make you feel at home with a very social personality all the while holding a strong sense of professionalism not really seen in many other restaurants. If you get a chance and are in the area I would whole heartedly recommend you try this place out. it Is a little tucked away to The right of the aero dr freeway exit and looks like a hole in the wall shop from the outside, however it's anything but in this case.“
“The best sushi I have ever tasted. The “RollsRoyce Roll” is something I get every visit. It is S P E C T A C U L A R!! Please DO NOT CHANGE. I’m well traveled globally and had sushi many places but none are as good as Harney Sushi in Old Town, San Diego. I don’t live near there but do get to pass through town several times each year. I visit every time. I cant wait to go back! The music and atmosphere is great.“
“We were in San Diego this weekend visiting friends and family for Easter and decided to have dinner at PF Changs. What a great decision, we were lucky enough to be seated in Bell’s section and we were impressed by her professionalism and attention to detail from the moment we were seated until we left. The food was fresh and hot, ambience was great we will definitely return next time we are in town.“
“We ordered the duck noodle soup with egg noodle for delivery at 2am. It hit the spot for sure. We ordered through yelp and the delivery person had us come out to meet her at her car on the street, so we weren't a huge fan of that, but the deliver option even half an hour before they closed was greatly appreciated.“
“The food was very great and very flavorful in comparison to a KBBQ place. The server we had was super nice and eligible about any questions that we had he was very great at attending us a little there were periods where no one would come to check on us at all. Overall it was very good but a little pricey. I would recommend this place.Parking: Location is right by Trader Joe’s so parking situation can be tricky has many people are shopping at Trader Joe’s“
“I have eaten here about 5x already in the past 2 months. I am so addicted to the tempura mix entree that comes with about 4 shrimp and a mix of green beans, pumpkin, broccoli and onion rings tempura, all coated in a nicely seasoned airy and light batter, just the right sweetness sauce, miso soup and a refreshingly crunchy salad.Yesterday, I decided to go to an old time favorite nearby, ordered the exact equivalent of what I get at Sushi Namu, which takes me here to.make this well deserved 4-star review. I can unequivocally state that Sushi Namu's tempura is far superior. Just writing.about it makes me want to go again. I have been eating tempura for about 40 years now and I think I can say that theirs are some of the best I've eaten this side of the equator.Their tables are very clean each time I go and their servers are soft-spoken and respectful. That other place I went to smelled old and moldy.Good to have something this good in the South Bay and not having to go to Convoy.Typical strip mall parking woes is behind the 4-star ratingVegetarian options: I didn't pay attention to their vegetarian menu but I'm pretty sure they have sufficient options or at least ok to modify based on your request.Parking: Can get a bit crazy with Starbucks drive thru traffic on one end and Popeyes drive thru traffic on the other in a small strip small.“
“The fries are so delicious! You can’t go wrong with any of them but the bulgogi fries, Hawaiian chicken chipotle, and the poke fries are to die for! The fries are nice and crispy and hold up really well through the sauce, which they don’t skimp out on! Build your own boba is so easy and they have a great amount of teas, slushes, and toppings. The staff is hands down the best part! They’re always super friendly and helpful! Can’t rave enough about this place!“
“Great atmosphere and service. Baos are light and fluffy and well seasoned. Flavors in the crunchy shrimp bao are especially good. And who can say no to that adorable face? Recommend going early if you want to try more flavors (they were out of the chicken and beef ones that I was hoping to try ). The waitress helped me come up with a great secondary option though! Need to come back to try their ramen another day.“
“I love this place great quality food and they don’t hesitate to ask if there’s anything else you’d like they don’t hurry you they are just amazing and the food omg it’s so delicious and healthy I love this place I wouldn’t go anywhere elseVegetarian options: They have great dishes just has to be what you like to eat and I love this place and the managers and employees were wonderful and such amazing customer serviceDietary restrictions: They had a wide variety of vegetables and great dishesKid-friendliness: They greeted my child with a warm smile and recommended great options for her“
“We came here for New Years Eve and had an amazing time! This is definitely my new favorite spot to go out in San Diego! Loved how there wasn't a huge line to get in or at the bar to order drinks. There were a lot of people but it wasn't super packed/cramped so there was actually space for you to move around/not always be bumping into someone. METE plays the best music out of every bar I've been to in both PB or Gaslamp. I'm not a huge fan of hearing pop/country/ when I'm out so highly recommend coming here if you love rap!“
“I loved my experience here. The food was excellent. I had the pineapple fried rice, the wagyo burger, and topped it off with the 7 layer chocolate cake. Emily was amazing, and the bartender made a killer pain killer. I will definitely be back, probably in a few hours lol“
