The milky mozzarella cheese with the prosciutto is bliss. I liked that they were not heavy-handed on the balsamic but drizzled just enough to bring the pizza together nicely.On a previous date, I had the gnocchi Verona with pesto, bacon, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms. If you like gnocchi and pesto, this one is a winner. New on their menu for spring is the vegetable calzone filled with fresh crisp vegetables and harvest pear salad. They are both wonderful.A while back, I had the Prime Steak Panini with a delicious and juicy prime flat iron steak. The panini comes with "Prime steak, pesto, banana peppers, provolone cheese, pickled cucumber and arugula" (Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen, 2024). This panini is a must if you like steak and paninis. I've had their pastrami sandwich here and it was quite delicious. It had a lot of flavor and seemed like it was brined really well. Next time around I tried their Italian sandwich since it was an Italian sandwich bakery store. They did not disappoint. It was fantastic, there was a lot of meat in the sandwich which I appreciate and the bread was nice and toasted. These two are some of my favorite sandwiches in San Diego. Hungry lu's uses a lot of fresh ingredients in their sandwiches and it shows. They gave me such a cool old school Italian sandwich shop vibe and I absolutely love it.
